| body | Amazon API Gateway is an AWS service that enables you to maintain REST and WebSocket APIs at any scale. You can create APIs for use in your own applications, or you can make your APIs available to third-party app developers. The API Gateway allows access to data stored in the AWS Cloud, as well as other web services. When attempting to perform an HTTP /Post request to [AWS API Gateway](https://amzn.to/2Mk0cI1) a few things need to be considered. Assuming you enabled CORS correctly there still may be issues handling payloads. If the clients JS object is in the querystring url it needs to leverage JSON.Stringify() otherwise the event handler won't recognize the object, you will see [object object] since the event makes reference of this object, meaning you cant call JSON.Stringify() later within the lambda to resolve your object. The problem here is, when you stringify your querystring the API Gateway will never get the request due to Integration mapping templates. The API Gateway querystring expects object values not entire objects themselves. When the conditions are not met you will see no logs for your lambda. ``` #set($allParams = $input.params()) { "params" : { #foreach($type in $allParams.keySet()) #set($params = $allParams.get($type)) "$type" : { #foreach($paramName in $params.keySet()) "$paramName" : "$util.escapeJavaScript($params.get($paramName))" #if($foreach.hasNext),#end #end } #if($foreach.hasNext),#end #end } } ``` The above snippet will group your querystrings and any additional params from your axios method into a params.querystring object, this object can have a JS object and or strings. ``` return new Promise((resolve, reject) => { axios({ method: 'post', url: `${endpoint}/phasedirection?deviceID=${payload.phaseDirectionData.deviceID}&phaseDirection`, params: { phaseDirection: payload.phaseDirectionData }, headers: headers }) .then(response => { resolve(response.data); }) .catch(err => { reject(`Error posting phase direction data: ${err}`) }); }); ``` Finally when the request is made to the API Gateway it will resolve the data to the lambda function which will take the event object and allow you to manipulate the data however you see fit. ``` const returnedHandler = (event, context, callback) => { console.log('Received event:', event); console.log("Request received stringify: \n", JSON.stringify(event)); console.log("Conext received stringify: \n", JSON.stringify(context)); var param = event.params.querystring; var deviceID = param.deviceID; var dataObj = param.phaseDirection; console.log('dev&obj ', deviceID, dataObj); } ``` As you can see, the lambda function takes the event.params.querystring and assigns it to the variables we need to get the job done. I hope this helps you understand why interacting with the API Gateway needs a proper mapping template and also specific payload parameters on the client side. |

| body | Jenkins is a great tool used to setup continuous integration and continuous deployment environments, Jenkins automation allows you to can create jobs to build, test, and deploy your applications. To get Jenkins running on your machine you will need to create a container using docker. Assuming you have docker installed run the command: ```docker run --name jenkinsci -p 8080:8080 jenkins/jenkins:lts``` Docker will execute the command and run Jenkins on your machine. Make sure to grab the admin key from the terminal Don’t share passwords 😉 Navigate to ```http://localhost:8080```. You’ll see the “Getting Started” Jenkins page: Enter the administrator password and press continue. On the following screen click “Install suggested plugins” Plugins will begin to install: After the installation completes, create a user or continue as Admin. You will be asked to set your Jenkins URL: Once complete you can start using Jenkins. Now let’s install some plugins. In order to install the plugins you need, click on “Manage Jenkins” on the left hand side: You will see “Manage Plugins” button: On the “Installed” tab, you will see all of the default plugins that were installed. Sometimes when you go to install a plugin it will fail, this can happen when a plugin has a missing dependency. If this happens, head over to the [Jenkins plugin library](https://updates.jenkins-ci.org/download/plugins/) and find the required plugins Click on the “Available” tab and then search for "Blue Ocean" in the filter: Click the checkbox for blue ocean then press the “Download now and install after restart” button You will see a “Open Blue Ocean” tab once you restart and login to Jenkins: So at this point Jenkins is installed with the blue ocean plugin, now we need to connect Jenkins to your Github Repository so it can trigger on a new build. You can provide Github with Jenkins access through SSH by generating a key, but Blue Ocean makes this easier by allowing Jenkins to access Github via webhooks. In Blue Ocean Click “New Pipeline” Choose Github as your store, pick an organization, and repository Click “Create Pipleline” and Jenkins will go to work As the pipeline is being created, lets head over to Github and setup our webhook In the settings of your repo you will need to add the payload URL for Jenkins Github webhook ``` //Add the ip and port for your Jenkins instance with /github-webhook http://ipAddress:port/github-webhook/ ``` Hit save webhook and you are good to go! From here you will need to decide when you want Jenkins to trigger the pipeline based on branch PRs. The steps Jenkins will take in order to fulfill your automation needs depends on your Jenkinsfile script. You can learn more about that [here](https://jenkins.io/doc/book/pipeline/jenkinsfile/) I hope this guide helped, I’d enjoy hearing about your experience in the comments below. |

| body | When you look at your financial trading options; you’re either buying and selling stocks 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday or trading currency on the Forex exchanges where your trading hours depend on your trading timezone. Traditionally trading requires the broker to execute your trade; most of the order executions are done by computers today. When you buy a percentage of an asset, the brokers also ad commission fees for executing your trade. Those fees may seem minimal if you’re trading thousands of dollars at a time but if you’re trading penny stocks the fees may out weigh the gains. With the technology advances of cryptocurrency everyone from around the world has true 24/7 access to the digital trading floor. As long as you have a connection to the internet you can trade. There is no recognized holiday to keep you from buying and selling digital assets. What makes trading cryptocurrency really great verses traditional trading, is the fact that the commission fees are so small that you’d hardly every recognize it. You can also buy and sell all day long without hitting a day trader limit. In the stock market you can only buy and sell the same stock up to 3 times before you’re recognized as a day trader. Once you’re considered a day trader, your account requires a $25,000 minimum balance. 24 Hour ETH Volume Ranking by Exchnage There are many different exchanges to trade your cryptocurrency like Coinbase’s GDAX platform, Bitifinex, Bittrex, and Kraken. Each exchange has their own quarks, some have great chart analysis, some allow you to trade exclusive coins but they all typically perform the same way. When you buy and sell cryptocurrency it is very similar to Forex, they both trade currency. If you look at a trading pair like BCC/BTC for example; you’re saying that you want to Buy Bitcoin Cash(BCC) with bitcoin(BTC) or sell BCC and receive Bitcoin. Each trading platform typically allows you to trade with Bitcoin(BTC) and Ethereum(ETH). Other trading pairs depend on what each exchange deems popular. Digital Asset Chart Binance BTC/USDT chart My favorite cryptocurrency trading platform is Binance, which stands for binary finance. Binance is a company led by Changpend Zhao from China. One of the many advantages of Binance is how strong their support is, you can access the platform on the web, they support both Android and iPhone, as well as Mac and Windows. The Binance platform can process over 1 million transactions a second! Binance has one of the best charts out there right now for any exchange. The best part is, they allow you to save 50% on their already low trading fee! When you trade on their exchange buy some BNB tokens, which currently sell for less than $2. This allows you to automatically receive a discount on fees. I’ve been trading Cryptocurrency for a while now, it has been a fun ride so far. Once you get into the game, I think you’ll see why I prefer cryptocurrency trading to traditional methods. This post was meant to compare the differences between digital asset trading and buying and selling of stocks and traditional currencies. I hope you found this informative. Drop a comment below and let me know what your experiences has been while trading. |
