| body | Hello all. I am still relatively new to entrepreneurship. I have cultivated a network online and throughout the Raleigh area to procure strategies that are implemented into a trading bot platform I have been working on. Such strategies which include: technical and fundamental analysis, machine learning, sentiment analysis, trailing stop loss, and setting limit orders among other forms of trading cryptocurrencies. Now, I am overseeing nearly all facets of further growth into the platform via its collaboration with virtual teams using machine learning. THE MOST EXCITING NEWS: For the love of business and startups, I have made a new site! todaybusiness.xyz. Some of my previous work because why not! .jpg) .jpg) |

| body | Company/Venture Name: Numeralique In one complete sentence, provide a description of your venture: The first cryptocurrency machine learning/A.I. research and trading platform that builds, test, and funds strategies through open collaborations between programmers, traders, and investors around the globe. Team Description: Provide any applicable information about your team. What background makes this team best suited to tackle this problem? Does your team have any other relevant startup experience? List all team members and management positions. (max 700 characters) JohnPaul Baric is the founder of a seven-figure earning crypto mining startup. As a true crypto enthusiast, JP has a deep understanding in the workings of cryptocurrency and the communities that back them. JP raises capital from investors. Bobby Bacon is a 4th year student majoring in Technology Design Engineering at NCSU. Bobby has cultivated and managed a network online and throughout the Raleigh area to procure a diverse range of strategies to be implemented into the trading platform. Nicolas Kiely is an NCSU graduate in mathematics serving as the lead data analyst / engineer . Nic has over 10 years of experience as a programmer in the disciplines of data mining and machine learning. Mentors/Advisors: Do you have any mentors or advisors currently assisting with your company? In what areas are you currently receiving mentorship or advice? (max 500 characters) Anthony Pompliano, former product manager at Facebook and former CEO of two software companies has served as a mentor in assisting JP with many of his ventures. Anthony is very excited about the current venture but has suggested that we also build our code to be capable of working in other markets such as with forex and stocks. The Numeralique project relies on all its members to execute but avoids typical mistakes startups face such having a lack of direction as a result of JP’s experience. Problem: What problem is your venture trying to solve? Include the following: who is affected, size of the problem and current ways the problem is being addressed. (max 1,000 characters) There are three focal points we are seeking to build the platform around; the difficulty of investing into cryptocurrency, crowdfunding performance driven collaborative machine learning/sentiment analysis research, and algorithmic testing for traders. Many people do not know very much about the various crypto available or how to trade them. Others may know how to trade but may simply not have the time to actively do so. The most important thing needed to develop machine learning and sentiment analysis is data. Once data is provided, tools are necessary to visualize and construct viable models. Normally, placing a high performing strategy in front of investors their performance would mean hours upon hours of direct messages, emails, and in-person networking. Lastly, there are various individuals and groups around the globe who have developed a proprietary strategy, perhaps for crypto, forex or maybe even stocks, who again, lack time or ability to automate trades in crypto. Solution: How is your venture solving this problem? What is unique to your company that allows you to solve this problem? (max 1,000 characters) After creating an account on an exchange, all we need to get started is the API key which is generated on every exchange. Once sent to the platform, trades will be executed on the client’s behalf. Thanks to Nic, our platform is currently able to execute trades dictated by custom strategies and optimize itself, effectively adapting strategies. The platform has a flexible web crawler which can be directed towards social media and news sources to scrape critical information about the market. We currently lack the code to provide machine learners with the tools they need to form teams and build models on the platform but the platform currently encourages algorithmic traders to test strategies that work in forex for crypto and publicly display performance. An investor will be able to see that performance and invest accordingly. The main selling point of our platform is outsourcing development of machine learning, sentiment analysis, and algorithmic trading strategies into an untapped market. Intellectual Property: Does your venture have any intellectual property? Is that IP protected? Do you currently have any legal protections in place (trademark, patent, license, etc)? (max 500 characters) The platform has been in development for 2 years. We have hired professionals to put together an operating agreement and all other documentation needed to protect the company from liability on outsourcing strategy development and investment. IP rights on the code have been fairly distributed among all founding members. There are no software patents for our platform because attaining software patents for this sort of technology is nearly impossible and furthermore unnecessary for our venture. Market: What is your venture's market? How big is it? Is the market growing? (max 500 characters) The market involves anyone who is interested in the automation of trades in cryptocurrency. At the time of this submission, the market cap for all crypto is $414 billion. Crypto seeks to compete or integrate itself into the world’s largest industry, banking. Crypto establishes for the people a system of trust independent of banks through the currency itself. Crypto’s market cap is expected to triple by the end of 2018. Industries involving machine learning and A.I. are expected to rise as well. Customer: Who is your target customer? Numeralique has 2 target clients; both institutional and retail investors inclined to invest using an automated trading platform, and secondly, traders, machine learning programmers, and data analyst who would like to use the data and infrastructure we provide to develop their own strategies and algorithms. The investors will be able to monitor the performance of these groups and invest accordingly. Customer Discovery: What customer discovery has your venture conducted? How many potential customers have you interviewed/surveyed? Did you learn anything new through your customer discovery process? (max 500 characters) After speaking to hundreds of retail and several institutional investors, we confirmed that performance is the biggest factor for investing through the platform; primarily proving a strong alpha and contingency for drawdown over time. Bobby has reached out to dozens of machine learning programmers/algorithmic traders who stated they need our platform. This group as well as investors interested in investing in the platform value versatility of data and capability of new features in the platform. Competition: Who is your venture’s competition (indirect or direct)? What is your competitive advantage? (max 500 characters) Quantopian would be our biggest competitor, however, they do not offer any data from crypto, sentiment analysis, or use crowdfunding. Many of the companies who have developed platforms for forex and stocks have not yet moved into the crypto space. A few ICO’s have based their currency on the technology but do not seek to outsource growth in those strategies. We are the first to market in regards to having a platform for investors to invest in outsourced strategies based on performance. Revenue Model: What is the venture’s revenue model? How do you plan to sustain and grow your venture? (max 500 characters) Investors using our strategies will be charged 10% of the profit made by each trade. For safety and security reasons, we do not allow our software to make any withdrawals from third party accounts or exchanges. At the end of each month, we send an invoice for the amount that is owed. Any account trading under $1000 will be free of charge. Those who develop strategies on our platform without crowdfunding will be billed $24.99 monthly. We will take 2% of the profit from crowdfunded portfolios. Prize Winnings: How would eGames prize winnings help your venture? What are your current funding needs? (max 500 characters) The prize would allow us to support our lead technical data analyst and hire another programmer to help build more advanced machine learning tools over the course of the next 2-3 months. After 2-3 months of monitoring the performance of machine learning and sentiment analysis on algorithms we have acquired or created from scratch and tested, we will reach out to institutional investors for more capital to manage. Additional Info: Do you have needs outside of funding? Mentorship, physical space, advisors, etc. (max 500 characters) Outside of funding, we have found networking to be our greatest asset. We will largely depend on networking online and in the local area to scale. Through his crypto mining company, JP has established a relationship his customers who have expressed a desire to try out our system. Before long, we would like a physical office space to spend every waking hour pursuing deadlines in production, networking, and management. |

| body | My first objective was to understand the meaning behind ergonomics. My own definition of ergonomics prior to research was a design suited towards making comfortability and usability its number one priority. It is a word that is used in the same breath of words such as bigger, better, faster, and stronger. What I have to find out is whether or not something that's called ergonomic universally so? A source I came upon described ergonomics as “the applied science of equipment design, as for the workplace, intended to maximize productivity by reducing operator fatigue and discomfort” (Steeman 2013). In this case, ergonomics is not necessary ergonomic to its audience but is intended to be so. I kept this in mind while researching various designs to draw inspiration. I want my design to stand out and force people to interact with the bottle in a way they had never before and in that way prove itself ergonomic. I have a mission statement but why do athletes need this? As I stated earlier, we live in a time of bigger, faster, etc. According to Outdoorgearlab.com, some bottles got rid of simplicity for complex caps with quicker access to its contents but what we truly need and what I am looking to create is greater simplicity suited towards today's fast-paced lifestyle. People that are forgetful like myself lose caps all the time, what's more preferable than a lid that is essentially apart of the bottle and protects your contents? Water bottles have become uncomfortable at times to lug around and I will research different types of water bottles and come up with an answer for this. There were a couple designs I was inspired from on grabcad.com. One such work included “Water Bottle Concept Surfacing” by Swapnil Nalawade on June 9th, 2017. The work instantly struck me as everything I wanted for my audience in an ergonomic design, someone just beat me to it. To me, the shape provides a new way to hold water with it little spaces for fingers to hold onto which I liked. I learned here that the materials used in this rendering, made me much more excited about receiving it for myself than some of the other renderings and in terms of feel will be crucial then as well. Unfortunately, the creator did not have much to say about the work. Another concept that interested me was the “VOSS Water bottle” by Joseph on March 16th, 2013. The sleek two piece design resonated with me but did not meet the specifications for the project. Still, it sold me on a color scheme and general feel that I wanted to apply towards my own water bottle. Again, the creator did not have much to say about the work. The last design, which I largely attribute to shaping my water bottle, was created by Andrew Ford on April 6th, 2015. This was indeed a winner, seemingly combining the two above. I would say that I am most concerned with how the bottle feels in-hand. The forms I have looked at for water bottles so far meet my personal objective, originality. The creator states that the bottle is actually made of stainless steel and has a silicon grip to make sure the cold doesn't affect whoever's holding it. The rubber stopper placed on the top of the bottle is genius in my opinion and personally de-stresses me from keeping up with the cap. Finally, I would like to acknowledge Nicole Hone whose own water bottle designs embody nature itself. Its curvatures made prevalent by its transparent surface became the boundary for my own bottle as its radical appearance would have little impact for my target audience. According to Hone, the bottle was designed to be used for survival. “Its fluid, organic reflects the environment in which it is used. The inverted curved surface on the top side of the bottle allows for exterior rainwater collection” (Hone 2015). Hone suggest that the curved surfaces allow balance for the bottle and could be used to scoop a stream. One thing I didn't particularly like about this design was its cork which again adds on another thing that must be kept up with. I realize that it will be important for me to design something capable of protecting its contents without a lid. From my research, I believe that incorporating elements from the following designs that inspire me and learning about materials they used as well as the functionality they were going for will be crucial in the beginning stages of the design process. From here, I will continue to build and research as I go. I believe one of the best ways to cultivate designs is not just online but in real life with people who are looking for real solutions. One of the ways I’d like to improve on future projects is to plan out my time to speak to others and show them early drafts of my work and get honest feedback. | body | From attending school at North Carolina State University as a senior in Technology Design Engineering with a concentration in Graphic Communications and as a Resident Advisor, I have learned that I need to put myself in as many opportunities to speak in public as possible. A great leader can oftentimes find themselves trying to express ideas and if I cannot comfortably and intelligently speak my mind then I may find myself missing out on enormous opportunities to group thinking. I have learned that I am similar to many people in that I value family and relationships but that I typically put more of an emphasis in personal development than most of my peers. I also realize that my life-changing experiences are not so specific as to a singular event but rather as a lesson learned over time. What this means is that I spend a lot of time reflecting in these situations which help me to replicate what works and avoid making the same mistakes. An understanding that my experiences and values such as growth and freedom hold a strong influence over my decision-making process will allow me a fresh opportunity to extrospection, observing other people's values for further growth. Being that I value personal growth and prominence, I must be careful to make sure that it does not become too excessive to the point where I alienate myself from growing through others. To prevent this, I will make sure to set goals for interacting with my residents and not only answer the standard questions we are supposed to ask but how they view my performance and how they’d like to see me improve. All in all, I think my experiences and values add diversity to the people that surround me and inspire others to grow and develop, to challenge themselves but be open to critique. In respect to this assignment, I would like to further practice growth and development through others as opposed to myself all the time. In conclusion, school has helped me to understand that while spending the time to introspect can be a good thing, extrospection can be good as well, acting as a sort of balance. I look forward to using this lesson towards my current activities as an RA in determining how values can be used to help build a sense of community among the residents. Self-reflection has been very beneficial but in the future, I would like to reflect through others to see how they evaluate my personal growth and my performance as an RA which my residents may value. |

| body | Happy Monday friends. Hope all is well in whatever sphere of the world in which you reside. The other day I was talking to my buddy, Nate. We were discussing the future of media and kind of talking about where the attention was going to be and where the trend is and stuff like that. And I think it's an important conversation to have. Because simply put, the money is where the attention is. If you can take advantage of attention while it's cheap, you can make a lot of $$. Right now, for example, and while it's definitely getting more expensive, Instagram influencers are pretty damn cheap right now. Some of them command a high price and some of them are just straight up overpriced, but in general it's a really cheap way to generate a lot of attention (if you do it right). So we're talking, and he says that he thinks video is where the attention is and where the trend is headed.![personlized-video-email-builds-trust.png] And I didn't disagree. And really, it's hard to argue against it. Our attention spans are getting shorter and shorter and quick little videos really might be the best way to satisfy our squirrel-sized brains. And then we talked about audio and how that will likely grow into a much larger market with the widespread adoption of home audio devices like Alexa, Google Home, etc. And that's all interesting stuff. But being the email connoisseur I am, I of course had to bring up the written word. Because it seems like this kind of thing is slowly getting "lost" on the general population. Why would anyone sit here and spend 5 minutes reading an email when they could much easily be more entertained by a Facebook video or a podcast or really anything else? I guess it's a valid question. But there's one thing I figured that email (and just the written word in general) can do that no other form of media can: It can be skimmed. Want to find the best bits of a podcast without listening to the whole thing? Tough luck. Want to get the best info from a video without watching the whole thing? Gonna be hard. Want to read the important parts of an email without reading the whole thing? No problem. Just skim it. As of now, and this may very well change, you can't easily skim any other form of media. You just can't. So yeah video is more entertaining and audio you can listen to while you're doing other things, but if you're in a time crunch and need to pick out the relevant info as fast as possible, text is the only way to go. Regardless of your opinion on the topic, this fact is hard to ignore. But my buddy's argument against it was that in this attention economy, email just isn't as entertaining as video. And for the most part, I agree with him. It's not. But that's the challenge. And that's kind of why I like email so much. Because it may be more difficult to gain attention and be entertaining, but when you do it right, I think it's much more rewarding. Example: Say you have a Facebook page with 100,000 likes, your best videos get about that many views, and you post a few times a day. Yeah you have an audience and yeah a lot of them are engaged, but when it comes down to it, how powerful is that audience? If you, for whatever reason, needed to leverage the power of your online following, could they move mountains? Methinks not. On the other hand, if I had an email list of just 1/10th that size, an open rate of 30-50%, and I'm emailing every day... That audience is really powerful. If I needed them to move a mountain, I think they could. If I was selling something, I bet a lot of them would buy it. A lot more than the Facebook page with 10 times more followers, at least. Because with email you have a very direct line with your audience. You reach them very personally. And when you do email the way I talk about and the way I do it, I think you're able to attract really high quality people, build really good relationships with them, and create a much kind of tighter knit group than with any other form of media right now. My email list is small, but I interact with the people on it on a daily basis. They email me, I reply, we have good conversations. And I've already met a handful of really great people this way. Like I said, it's rewarding. When someone tells you they really enjoy hearing from you. That every single day they're willing to take 5 minutes out of their day just to read what you have to say. That what you write to them is valuable and informative and fun and they even look forward it? It's really rewarding. And it's powerful. And I don't think this kind of thing is going away anytime soon. Actually, I think quite the opposite. I think a lot more people are going to start doing email this way when they catch on to how effective it is. A lot of these big brands and companies are behind the curve. They're distant. They're vague. They don't resonate with people. They don't have any sort of personal connection with their audience, y'know? They just feel like these big blind corporate giants, disconnected from the real world, from real people. And real people don't like that. So think about your email strategy... Do you have a personal connection with your audience? Are they engaged with you on a regular basis? Do you have anything to say that they actually care about? Because in the long run, I think email wins the fight against video every time. And if you're not all in on email (regardless of what industry you're in) as I always like to say, you're leaving a lot of $$ on the table. Luckily, if you'd like to fix that, I can help you. https://steemitimages.com/DQmZTA6f7mbBxraSKwroACJnT9F8taVUEMskBHH6EPNWqpd/personlized-video-email-builds-trust.png Digital Images Citations: https://www.jivesystems.com/personalized-video-a-sales-revolution/ https://www.oberlo.com/blog/email-vs-messenger https://bombbomb.com/blog/video-email-marketing-return-on-investment-roi-study/ |

| body | "So if you're on this list you're probably into entrepreneurship. You know, working for yourself, stuff like that. And if there’s one thing that's got a lot of stuff in common with entrepreneurship and working for yourself, it’s women. When it comes to things like dealing with clients or trying to acquire new ones, it's a lot like dating. And because of my wealth of experience in the field, dating is something that I am, on no infrequent occasion, asked for advice on from my less “lady killer” friends. And in fact, one of them asked me a question last night (which I so graciously answered), and in the answer I think there are a few biz parallels that are worth sharing. So the question was this: “How do you come off cool and nonchalant when trying to pick up girls? Especially when on the inside you are the exact opposite?” And I guess this is a good question. And my answer isn't some sort of profound PUA bullshit, it’s just common sense: To come off as cool and nonchalant, you actually have to be cool and nonchalant. And I mean, you can try to fake it. And that can work, but most the time it won't and it's just better to actually *be* it in the first place. So then the obvious next question is, “Well how do I do that?” And the answer here is, in short, you have outcome independence. Meaning that regardless of whatever happens, your outcome is the same. She could reject you or she could say yes to you. And either way, to you, it doesn’t matter. Your outcome is still the same. You're still a bad motherfucker with plenty of beautiful women you can call up if need be. You're not dependent on this one girl. Whether she comes home with you or slaps you across your righteous face in disgust, it doesn't matter. Because all your eggs aren’t all her basket. You have other options. And that’s kind of how you should be with business too. If one client is the majority of your income, you're naturally going to cater to them more so than the other ones. You're going to treat them kind of special, maybe put them on a pedestal and you're going to make it easy for them to take advantage of you. And they will. People can sense that sort of thing. Even if you're not doing it directly or you're trying hard not to, you're still going to. And then that puts you in a very dangerous spot where they know that you'll do whatever it takes to please them. And I don’t care who you are, that's a pretty shitty situation to be in as a freelancer/entrepreneur. So you gotta kind of diversify. Get your eggs out of one basket and in to many of them. Make it so that if you lost one client or one big account, it wouldn't matter. It’d be a drop in the bucket. And because of that, you don't have to cater to them or treat them special or put them on a pedestal or anything like that. And they'll know that and they’ll treat you accordingly. And this is why I've gotten into dropshipping (had my first $100 day yesterday, yippee). Because especially right now, kind of at the beginning of my freelance career, I'm very likely to be highly dependent on one or even just a few clients. And that is not a place that I want to be. So if I can build another source of income for myself that isn’t reliant on anyone but myself, then I don't have to worry so much about appeasing clients, taking on jobs I don't want to, and I can kind of pick and choose who I want to work with. And I think as a freelancer that's how it should be. And when it comes to women, that's how it should be too. You should have enough options to the point where just one girl doesn't matter. Because if you don't, you're going to act needy and things just aren't going to work out for you as well. They just won't. So then I guess it all comes down to one thing: Having options. If you got issues, you need options. And if you don't have options, you got issues. ^^ That’s my wise advice for the day. And if you got email issues, I've got email options. Link below for more on that. So think about your biz: When it comes to acquiring customers... Do you have options? Cause if not, you got issues. Luckily, scheduling a free strategy call with me (and getting clients/customers 24/7 on autopilot with email) is an option. And because of that, you don't have to cater to them or treat them special or put them on a pedestal or anything like that. \n\nAnd they'll know that and they’ll treat you accordingly. \n\nAnd this is why I've gotten into dropshipping (had my first $100 day yesterday, yippee).\n\nBecause especially right now, kind of at the beginning of my freelance career, I'm very likely to be highly dependent on one or even just a few clients. And that is not a place that I want to be. \n\nSo if I can build another source of income for myself that isn’t reliant on anyone but myself, then I don't have to worry so much about appeasing clients, taking on jobs I don't want to, and I can kind of pick and choose who I want to work with.\n\nAnd I think as a freelancer that's how it should be.\n\nAnd when it comes to women, that's how it should be too.\n\nYou should have enough options to the point where just one girl doesn't matter. Because if you don't, you're going to act needy and things just aren't going to work out for you as well.\n\nThey just won't.\n\nSo then I guess it all comes down to one thing:\n\nHaving options.\n\nIf you got issues, you need options.\n\nAnd if you don't have options, you got issues.\n\n^^ That’s my wise advice for the day.\n\nAnd if you got email issues, I've got email options.\n\nLink below for more on that.\n\nSo think about your biz:\n\nWhen it comes to acquiring customers...\n\nDo you have options?\n\nCause if not, you got issues.\n\nLuckily, scheduling a free strategy call with me (and getting clients/customers 24/7 on autopilot with email) is an option.\n\nLink for the interested:\n\nhttps://calendly.com/theemailhammer/strategy-call\"\n\n-Nate Schmidt",

| body | 1. 5G Network Now that we are used to 4G internet, the successor is ahead: 5G can handle speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second, making it possible to download an average movie in 3.6 seconds - instead of the 6 minutes on the 'old 'network. However, 5G has more advantages than just downloading video: it can handle more connections at the same time and is less affected by delays on the network, crucial for self-driving cars, for example. Officially, the new high-speed standard will only be marketed in 2020, but until that time much is experimented with, allowing 8K video and VR images to be effortlessly mobile streamed later on. Streaming is not an unimportant reason for the speed increase: this year, US $ 19.5 billion in streaming services is being converted, an increase of 35%. 2. Artificial Intelligence As the researchers describe, Artificial Intelligence (in the form of machine learning, deep learning and neural networks) solves problems that we ourselves "do not want or can not solve". We will see the biggest disruption in self-driving cars, security, retail and speech technology. Retailers will see the arrival of AI mainly in cost savings, more productivity and more sales. Around self-driving cars, graphic chip manufacturer Nvidia and chipmaker Intel are the main drivers behind the latest hardware and software. Nvidia founder Jen-Hsun Huang announced in Vegas not only new hardware for self-driving cars, but also new partnerships with Uber, the Chinese Baidu and Volkswagen, all of which will buy hardware at the company from Santa Clara. An important development within artificial intelligence will be that AI will explain in the future why it makes certain decisions. How algorithms come to a conclusion is often a mystery even for its developers at the moment. According to the CTA researchers, responsible AI will be crucial in maintaining long-term confidence in this technology. Nvidia responds to this by using 'augmented navigation': in the future, cars will show the driver which objects they recognize and on which they are anticipated. 3. Voice technology In the short term, speech technology will benefit the most from the development of AI. Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Microsoft Cortana, Apple's Siri and soon also Samsung's Bixby storm the market as 'voice assistants'. This is reflected in the sales of the number of smart speakers, which is expected to peak in 2019. However, speech technology is not limited to the telephones in the house: 'speech will play a role in every conceivable form of digital experience'. One example is Ford's new models, equipped with Amazon's digital assistant. As an entrepreneur, keep in mind how you can help your customers by connecting your service to one of the prominent speech platforms. It is expected that smart speakers this year will deliver $ 3.8 billion in sales in the US alone. 4. Robots Robots are going to occupy a place in our house. They are movable wearables, so you will not have to walk to a static smart speaker, but you will have one that is approaching behind you autonomously. Thanks to built-in camera technology, the home robot simultaneously becomes a smart security camera and a permanent family photographer. As main researcher Steve Koenig sharply points out, the algorithm must be smart enough not to place snapshots of your bedroom directly on Facebook. A special mention in Vegas was the Dutch startup Somnox: the smart robot cushion that makes people sleep better. According to the researchers, 'cuddling will also remain a trend in 2018'. Fine boost for the Delft startup, who wants to have his sleeping robot in the store in the summer. 5. Biometrics Do you use biometric services? Maybe without knowing it: the fingerprint scanner in your phone, the face recognition in the iPhone X, but also the software from Facebook to automatically recognize your friends in photos. There is more confidence in biometric security and it will be applied in more services. Nvidia showed a Volvo that recognizes that you are coming with groceries and is already opening the tailgate for you. 6. VR & AR Augmented Reality (AR) is fast becoming 'completely renew the mobile experience' and 'immersive advertising' is on the rise. Thanks to popular apps such as Ikea, where you can virtually furnish your home, consumers increasingly see the benefits. Business is also booming, partly due to the deployment of the ever-dead glass Google Glass. Virtual Reality will achieve the mass, thanks to affordable hardware and the use of Facebook. The real innovation is coming up in the content next year, the researchers say: 'Creatives have been able to practice for a number of years creating for stories in VR. We're finally going to see great productions from that. " It is expected that in 2018 VR and AR equipment in the US will generate $ 1.2 billion in sales. 7. Smart Cities With the help of the Internet of Things and Big Data analyzes, cities are becoming smarter, so that they can improve services and safety on the streets, reduce traffic congestion and tackle pollution more efficiently. A big difference between the US and Europe is that cities in the US mainly focus on traffic problems and Europe is mostly concerned with the environment and energy supplies. 8. eHealth Cake cut in the Netherlands, but hypermodern in other parts of the world: high-tech medical innovations. From sleep aids to trauma treatment with VR to smart meters and cancer control: in 2018 we will see a lot of this. 9. Sports innovation Technology will turn the popular sports upside down. From data analysis at player level (how about Challenger of the Year Scisports), to smart stadiums, measurable sponsor packages, but also the arrival of 'experiences' through VR / AR applications and the growth of Esports. As Nvidia founder Huang describes: 'I was one of the first gamers in the world, but soon everyone on the planet will play video games'. The Huang company has now produced more than 200 million graphics cards for the gaming industry. In the coming days Sprout will continue to report on the most important technology trends at CES in Las Vegas. The entire presentation of the technology trends can be found here as Pdf. |

| body | 2018 announces itself as a year with many opportunities for the traveling Belgians. Tour operator Neckermann / Thomas Cook collected a few tips for the Belgian tourist with whom he can save hundreds of euros or simply spend longer holidays. Those who choose smartly can do golden business. Double your vacation by planning smartly. The Belgian has an average of 26.7 days' holiday per year. For many people that means tight plans to get the maximum out of it. Did you know that the summer vacation for students in 2018 takes 3 days longer than in 2017? This is because June 30 falls on a Saturday, just like September 1. Those who aspire to a long-term stay and plan their departure or arrival in the weekend can therefore even take one week longer vacation, as the tour operator calculated, because the summer vacation now spans 9 weeks instead of 8 weeks last year. Parents with school-age children who want to get out on the first Saturday of the school holiday can therefore already leave in June, so that they can stay out of peak season and the large number of tourists. In France, for example, the big holiday starts only on 7 July 2018. Those who want to get away from it for the summer months can take advantage of the favorable holiday calendar for the month of May. Traditionally, this is the month with many holidays (Labor Day, University of Amsterdam Ascension Day, Whit Monday). This year they also fall on favorable days. Thus the Day of Labor falls on a Tuesday and O.L.H. Ascension on a Thursday, as a result of which you only have to hand in 8 days of leave for 16 days of vacation. At that time the weather conditions are ideal for a visit to Morocco, the Greek or Canary Islands, with temperatures fluctuating between 20 and 30 degrees. In this way you also avoid the bustle of the summer months and you can catch interesting events. Book early Those who book their summer holiday 2018 before 7 January can book an early booking discount of hundreds of euros. Incidentally, the early booker gets a 'best price guarantee' at the time of early booking and even up to several weeks of departure. You also retain a lot of flexibility: at Neckermann you can re-book your trip for free up to 4 weeks before departure. Travel in low season It is an open door that makes it cheaper to travel in low season. Another advantage is that you avoid the flow of tourists and make better connections with the world and the local population. Do not stay home for the World Cup Not a die hard football fan who does not want to miss a match? Be sure to keep an eye on the super deals that have traditionally become available on the market just during the World Cup. In 2018 this is the period from 14 June to 15 July. Take a flight that leaves in the afternoon or evening Morning flights are still the most popular, but for those who like to save on their flight, the tour operator recommends booking a flight that leaves later in the day, for example in the afternoon. That way you also get much more out of your last holiday, because you do not have to leave in the morning. See more in less time Why not combine multiple destinations in one trip? In addition to the classic cruise formulas, many other smart combinations are possible to see more places in one go. This way you can fly to Crete and from there visit Mykonos and Santorini. You can taste both Turkish and Greek atmosphere by combining Bodrum and Kos, with the ferry only 4 hours apart. The same applies to Rhodes and Dalaman (Turkey), where you connect to the ferry in just 2h30. Sold at your holiday destination In Madrid, the wintersolden last until March 31, which is 2 months longer than in Belgium! And in the Canary Islands you can continue to shop tax-free and the summer summers start in June. That way you earn back a piece of your travel money. |
