This series tells the story of how I came to establish Ellipsis Wellbeing – the venture that is now my life’s work.\n\nThis video is a short autobiography that describes my aims for this project and hopefully serves as an introduction for what follows. This short film explores what I learned from my life’s journey, which I feel touches on some significant aspects of modern life.\n\n# Life brings with it many concerns and one of the big ones is: accumulating money #\n\nBut the reason we pursue money is to enable us to do what we want. So, in one sense, life requires us to find a balance between earning a living and doing what we love.\n\nI mention this because when I was in my early twenties, despite my immaturity, I had the work-life balance perfect. My job was just a means to an end. Outside of work I devoted all my energy to things which brought me fulfilment – making music and films, as well as enjoying myself having fun with my friends.\n\nBut as the years rolled by, I was taken with the (quite reasonable) assumption that more money was going to bring me more fulfilment. And so, I invested more energy into my pursuit of money, at the expense of what mattered to me.\n\nI got it wrong – big time. \n\nThis film shows how and hopefully offers some insight into what life is all about. My name is Patrick and my channel is ellipsiswell, representing my venture, Ellipsis Wellbeing. \n\nAs the name suggests, this channel is about Wellbeing; exploring the things that support our health and happiness. For me, there are four aspects of wellbeing: Body, Mind, Emotions and Spirit (consciousness). True wellbeing comes from a holistic approach that nourishes each of these aspects. \n\nI know – this is hardly a revolutionary concept…but nonetheless, it is important to remember what we consist of when considering our wellbeing.\n\nMy life so far has been an exploration of what is truly fulfilling. A lot of life lessons came to me in ways that were joyful and uplifting, but some of the most significant realisations have come via hard challenges and great loss.\n\nMy aim is to offer a perspective on life that can help others make sense of their own journey, and perhaps avoid some of the pitfalls that held me back.
