| body | **Bonjour les Steemiens,**  Cela fait quelques années que peut importe ou je me trouve il y à toujours au moins une personne pour promouvoir les bienfaits de la méditation. On retrouve des conseils un peu partout, presse féminine, presse masculine (est-ce que cela se dit), magazine à propos du business. Et tous les pratiquants semblent se développer grâce à cette pratique. Pendant plusieurs année j'étais très douteuse de ce club privé, l'idée de m'asseoir et de ne penser à rien, faire le vide pour atteindre l'état de méditation, c'était tellement obscur, je n’ai jamai reussi à ne rien penser de ma vie. Non définitivement ce n'était pas pour moi. La c’est le moment ou je vous raconte ma vie, mais en bref j’ai commencé le yoga de manière beaucoup plus régulière et chaque session commençait et se terminait par un courte session de méditation et des exercices de respirations (Pranayama). C’était le début, j’ai reçu de l’aide bien évidemment (je vous expliquerait le reste de mon histoire avec la méditation ultérieurement). En 2018 il y a toujours des gens qui n’incluent cette pratique dans leur développement spirituel et personnel, pour aujourd’hui voyons ensemble les meilleures raisons pour commencer à méditer. **Du temps pour soi** Méditer ce n’est pas une activité de groupe, c’est possible de pratiquer avec d’autres personnes (*ie. en studio de yoga*) d’ailleurs cela aide à atteindre le niveau de méditation beaucoup plus vite mais au final c’est vraiment que vous et vos pensées. C’est à propos de vous qui essaie de créer une relation avec vous-même. De nos jours entre métro-boulot- dodo, gérer la famille et les amis, les réseaux sociaux, on n’est jamais seul, notre cerveaux est toujours actif. Avoir un pratique régulière de méditation ca vous force à tout arrêter **Apprendre à vous connaître** Pour toutes personnes qui soit jamais entrer dans notre vie, on doit toujours passer par cette phase ou l’on doit passer du temps avec cette personne pour apprendre à les connaître, puis il faut entretenir cette relation, ce que nous faisons en sortant boire avec nos amis, un rendez-vous avec son conjoint, un dîner chez nos grand-parents, un coup de téléphone. Cet amour que vous ressentez pour vos amis et votre famille, vous entretenez de manière spécifique à chaque personne. Si je vous demande ce que vous faites pour apprendre à vous connaître et entretenir l’amour que vous devez avoir pour vous-même quelle sera la réponse ? Pour les mamans et les papas on sait que ce temps est très souvent attribué à vos enfants. En commençant à méditer de manière régulière vous pourrez découvrir des nouveaux intérêts, passions, des choses de votre personnalité, c’est une étape essentiel dans le développement personnel: se connaître c’est le début de tout. **Prenez de la distance avec vos problèmes** Alors bien sûr comme d’habitude quand je dis que quelque chose est plus simple que ce qu’on pense, on va me tomber dessus. Mais je m’en fout car l'expérience m'a prouvé tellement de fois que les choses pour lesquelles on se prend la tête sont souvent moins complexes que ce que l’on pense. Tout le monde à des problèmes et ou se sent au pied du mur, coince, on ne sait pas quoi faire, comment s’en sortir. Méditer c’est vraiment calmer votre esprit et arrêter de s'inquiéter pour juste un instant. Cette petite pause peut-être la meilleure chose qui nous soit jamais arrivé. Je sais pas pour vous, mais chaque fois que j’ai des probleme je suis à 100% dedans, je me prends le choux moi même et me fait paniquer. Méditer peut alléger votre stress, calmer votre anxiété et ce sentiment de se sentir coincé. Mais le plus important c’est que cela vous permet de prendre du recul, voir le même problème avec un nouveau regard, relever des solutions qui n’avaient pas été considérée lorsque vous étiez en mode panique. L’image que j’ai c’est celle de la cocotte minute, si vous ne mettez pas de sous pape cela explose n’est ce pas ? Certaines activités vont vous aider à gérer ça, la méditation c’est plus comme ouvrir la cocotte, la pression redescend directement. Ces raisons sont pour moi déjà suffisantes pour convaincre n’importe qui de méditer, mais ces raisons sont toutes concentrées sur soi-même. La question qui se pose alors c’est est ce que la méditation peut améliorer ma relation aux autres ? **Améliorer sa communication** Méditer vous force à prendre du recul et à repenser sa propre vie, cela vous aide à gérer vos émotions, vous êtes plus calme, plus constant (vous vous énervez moins). Le fait d'être calme et constant cela encourage les gens à s’exprimer plus ouvertement, prendre du recul vous permet de répondre de manière juste et adaptée (empathie !!). Et je sais pas si vous mais j'ai toujours préféré la compagnie de personnes calmes, qui me laissent parler sans s'énerver et me répondent de manière claire et adaptée. **Avancement professionnel** Bien évidemment améliorer sa manière de communiquer peut vous aider considérablement avec vos clients, partenaires, collègues et managers ce qui ai déjà super. Mais méditer peut faire beaucoup d’autres choses pour vous sur votre lieu de travail. Améliorez votre productivité/ concentration: Méditer vous enseigne à arrêter de prêter attention à ce qui se passe au dehors et de se concentrer sur soi. Cette capacité de concentration vous aidera dans vos études et/ou dans votre travail. En gros vous allez faire plus en moin de temps. Nouvelles idées: Encore une fois cette capacité à prendre du recul et à regarder le même problème avec un regard frais, vous aidera à proposer de nouvelles idées, de les critiquer afin de le rendre encore meilleures. | body | **Hello Steemians,**  In my previous article I discussed the reasons why people should to start meditating, the question that was left unanswered was how to ? Today we are going to explore this. Some people are blessed by the god of will power, they decide something and the next day they are making it happen ... I hate those people because I am oh so jealous of them. Other people like me struggle to establish any sort of new habit or behaviour, for those people please do not dispair, this article is for you. I managed my life for so many years by trying out things without committing, that is until I discovered belly dancing, then my life changed because it made me change. One day while I was browsing Youtube for belly dance videos I came across a video from dancer Zoe Jakes and she had those words about having a regular belly dance practice "you have to treat it like a job ... you show up for work unless you have a horrible cold, ... family member is really ill ...". This advice really stick with me because it was so simple yet powerful, so if you want to start having a meditation practice that is regular treat it like a job and don't skip on it just because you don't feel like it on that specific day. But don't treat it like a job you hate, commit to having a regular meditating practice, that is personal, enjoyable and really positive. Let's lean into it. Well ahead of the practice : The idea is to make it a ritual, it needs to be relaxing, beautiful and have this feel like home vibe. You need to associate meditating with something positive. - Have a dedicated meditation space : You can find inspiration on Pinterest or Instagram and it can include anything that you like : a small table, carpet, artwork, pillows, crystals, singing bowls. Make it your own and don't think you need a lot of space because you don't. - Established in advance dedicated days and time that you will meditate We talk about making it a job, well no one works just when they feel like it or when they have time, usually it's predefined time contractually. For your meditation practice it will be the same so decide in advance ( not 5 minutes before) when you will practice this week, then put an alarm to remind you of it. When the alarm goes off there is no bailing out, you have to stick to it. Right Before you start  Alright, so the alarm went off now what ? Again the idea is to make it a positive experience, to make it a ritual that you enjoy doing, to prepare your mind for what is next. - Awaken your senses : Smell and Sound Burn some incense, use an essential oil burner or humidifier, burn sage or palo santo if you prefer those. But make it smell nice. Put some meditating music on, I recommend 432hz music which is ideal for meditation (you can find some on Youtube very easily), use your singing bowls, the sound and it's vibration always helps me relax. - Turn off your phone: It's not always possible but try to block your calls, it happened to me so many times that I can coun t but people always wait that you are deep meditation to share their thoughts. Starting your session Guided meditation and meditative music I really enjoy guided meditation, they are a quick and easy way to start your journey, and when using those at first I could always deeply relax. Once you become more regular and got a few successful session you can explore on your own, you can start with 432 hz music or else. Use tools: I like to hold a crystal each time I meditate to focus on area of my life I want to see improvement in, other use mantras for similar reasons. Focus on your breath: The first time I meditated successfully I focused on my breath, trying to visualise the air coming in and out for me it was with colours but I guess it's different for everyone. Also control your breath ( inhale for 4 seconds, lock your breath for 2 seconds and exhale for 6 seconds). Those are all my tips. Did I forget anything ? | body | Hello Steemians,  For years now it seems that everyone out there has been pushing the benefits of meditation. [Everyone meditates](http://www.businessinsider.com/tim-ferriss-meditation-mindfulness-2017-11) it seems. And all practitioners seem to revel in it. For a long time I was fairly dubious, the idea of sitting down and think of nothing to reach your higher state just seemed completely bonkers. I don't want to tell you my life story but in short I started yoga and each session started and finished with meditation. I do not meditate everyday but I am getting there slowly slowly. Today we talk about why should people meditate: 1. Me-time The thing about meditation is that it's not really a group activity, yes you can meditate with other people (it will actually help you reach the meditation space faster), at the end it's just you and your thoughts. It's about you and creating a relationship with yourself. Nowadays between work, family, friends, social media we are almost never alone doing nothing (I feel for you mothers out there). If you start setting time off everything else to just sit down with yourself and take a much needed break 2. Get to know your true self Just like with other people in your life, to get to know other people you ave to spend regular time with them to get to know them for real. By meditating regularly you might find out about your interests, passions, your personality. For your personal growth it is so essential to know where your starts. 3. Take a break from your issues Everyone has issues, everyone feels stuck at times. By meditating you are quieting your mind and stop the worry for a while. This break can be your salvation at times. When we are having our personal issues we tend to just have stuck minds, ideas, solutions don't come easily, we feel that we are forever stuck. Meditation can alleviate your stress, anxiety and feeling of being stuck, it can also allow you to take a step back and observe the situation differently, to eventually find the solution you need. Those are already great reasons for anyone to start meditating, they're very much focus on yourself though. What about meditation in relation with other people. 4. Improved communication Because meditation teaches you to take a step back and reflect on your own life you become better equipped to manage your emotions, your mood is calmer and more constant (you don't get upset as much). Being calm and constant it allows people to express themselves more freely, taking a step back allows you to respond according to their situation (empathy anyone ?). Being more empathetic makes you a much better company !!! 5. Get ahead at work Improving your communication skills can help you with clients, partners, managers and co-workers which is always great, it will help to improve how other see you at work. Now let's dive in, - Increased productivity/ focus : Meditation teaches you how to stop listening to the outside world and start focusing on yourself, this skill will allow you to stay focus when studying or when working. You will start doing much more in less time. - New ideas: yet again this ability to take a step bake and think outside of the box will help you bring new ideas forward, and to criticise those ideas to make them even better. Those are the thing that I noticed when I started meditating regularly what are your observations if any ? For me as well because I do not follow any organised religion I feel that it's quite similar in intent to what religious people do when communicating with their "God" what do you think about that ? should I develop this idea for another article ? | body | **Bonjour les Steemiens,**  Credit - Pexels La semaine dernière en commentaire de mon article, quelqu'un commenta que certaines choses n'étaient plus possible une fois que nous devenions parents. Et cela me rappelle une certaines conversations que j’ai très régulièrement avec ma mère, ou avec des amies. Lorsque ma mère se prend la tête avec l’une de mes soeurs elle m’appelle et répète souvent **“j’ai fait des enfants pour m’apporter du bonheur…”** Il y a quelques années une de mes amies partageait ses frustrations car son partenaire n’avait pas les mêmes objectifs de vie qu’elle. Elle se plaignait qu’**il ne faisait rien pour la rendre heureuse.** Aujourd’hui je voulais parler du fait que nous avons tendance à donner la responsabilité de notre bonheur à d’autres: enfants, partenaires, parents. C’est une énorme responsabilité à imposer à quelqu’un. Prenez un enfant, qui n'a rien demandé à personne aurait la responsabilité de devoir rendre heureux ses parents ? Votre conjoint est supposé savoir de manière intuitive ce qui vous rendra heureux pour le reste de votre vie ? Vos parents vous ont conçu et doivent de ce fait mettre leur vie de côté pour se consacrer à votre bonheur ad vitam eternam? Ce schéma ne peut fonctionner, vous ne pouvez garantir qu’une autre personne souhaite être la clef de votre bonheur pour toujours. Que ferez-vous si votre conjoint/ vos enfants/ vos parents vous délaissent. Vous ne serez plus jamais heureux ? Pareillement malgré tout ce que vous ferez pour une personne dépressive vous n’arriverez pas à la rendre heureuse. Personnellement je vois **le bonheur comme un cupcake avec des confettis** pour la finition. Vous êtes responsable de préparer la base, vos parents vous donnent les directions pour la cuisson, votre partenaire c’est le frosting, les confettis c’est vos enfants. Mais la partie la plus importante c’est vraiment de créer la base, sans aide de vos parents c’est compliqué mais pas impossible, une fois la base cuite vous pourriez manger le gâteau tel quel et seriez très satisfait, ajouter le frosting et ‘et encore meilleur, une fois que vous ajoutez vos confettis pour décorer la c’est vraiment top. **Comment devenir heureux ?** La question que beaucoup de gens se posent, à laquelle malheureusement personne ne peut offrir de solution adéquate. Si on commence pour essayer de définir le bonheur c’est déjà un casse tête, donc essayer de le créer, développer et l’offrir c’est encore un autre casse tête. Dans mon article précédent je disais que je ne faisais que les choses que j’avais envie de faire, que les choses qui m’apportent de la joie, la vie est trop courte pour laisser la négativité, le mal être, la déprime, le pleurs se faufiler pour ruiner ne serait-ce qu’une minute/ une journee de celle-ci. Dans la sélection de mon entourage c’est la même chose, je ne passe du temps qu’avec les gens avec qui apportent quelque chose à ma vie, qui me font rire, sourire, qui me font me sentir bien. Ce n’est pas profiter ou prendre l'avantage sur les autres car j'espère donner au moins autant que je reçois, je souhaite que mon entourage soit présent dans ma vie car je rends leurs vies meilleures. Personnellement je fais le choix chaque jour d'être plus heureuse, de rendre ma vie meilleure, d’etre une meilleure personne. Et comme dans l’avion on met son masque d'oxygène d’abord puis après on aide les autres, le bonheur c’est pareil il y a une quantité illimitée, donc une fois que l’on a créer le sien et que l’on a du surplus on peut en apporter aux autres et plus on en transmet plus on en reçoit. A présent avec du recul je pense que **c’est facile de créer son propre bonheur**, mais c’est vrai que lorsque j’ai fait ma dépression il y a quelques années (plus de 10 ans suite à une peine de coeur) je pensais que c'était quelque chose d’impossible à surmonter. Et cela ne s’est pas fait en un jour, au début je me disais que si je croyais au bonheur du coup j’allais être heureuse, **à force de prétendre et bien le bonheur est arrivé dans ma vie.** Malgré tout il y a toujours des événements que je ne peux contrôler, cependant **je sais que jepeux contrôler ma réaction et combien de temps je vais laisser ma vie être affectée par ces perturbations.** C’est ma conviction que tout le monde peut être heureux, cependant comme pour beaucoup de chose il y aura toujours des personnes qui ne veulent prendre aucune responsabilité de la direction que leurs vies prendront et vont toujours rejeter la faute sur d’autres personnes ou sur des conditions particulières. Et à ces personnes je tiens à dire “Pensez-vous que la vie des autres est facile, que tout arrive sans efforts aux autres?” Non tout le monde à des merdes et des situations particulières. Maintenant vous pouvez continuer comme ça et ne pas avoir les résultats escomptés ou vous pouvez faire quelque chose. C’est tout pour aujourd’hui. Elise |
