Go on and read it, but I'll give you the main point right here. Imagine that you have a twin brother who is exactly like you. The same cute nose, the same eyes, the same job, and so on. He doesn't like you, that fellow. He wants exactly what you want. As a kid, he probably dropped his Brussels Sprouts on your plate, and grinned when your parents made you eat them. As a teenager he stole your big love (the daughter of the grocer) away, leaving you standing there holding some roses and the cauliflower you had just bought.  He's always trying to steal your thunder, and you already know his strategy. You could have done it too, but he got there first. \n\nNow, let's leave Tynans idea, or rather, let's build on it. You know the strategies that you should follow, but you just don't do it. You hesitate. You procrastinate. You tell yourself you should learn more, earn more, be more first. So you do nothing. That's the inner critic talking. And I really think he has the same voice of your evil twin.  This is the gremlin that Rick Carson talks about. He's so ingrained in your mind that you don't even notice him anymore. \n\nAnd this is were the ancient antidote of mindfulness comes in. Carson calls it the 'zen theory of change' in his book. It's as ancient as it is wise and I'll paraphrase it here. \n\n' I free myself, not by trying to be free, but by simply noticing when I'm imprisoning myself' .\n\nThis is how you deal with the critic. First you notice him, and then you can decide consciously if you want to listen to him or not. \n\nIn most cases, you'd better adapt the 'evil twin' strategie: do exactly what your worst enemy would do if he wanted to steal whatever you want in front of your nose. Just think about the wise words in the immortal James Bond song 'live and let die' : \n\nWhat does it matter to ya\nWhen you got a job to do\nYou gotta do it well\nYou gotta give the other fellow hell.",

      "body": "His name was Remi Georges, so his initials were the 'R' and the 'G'. In French you prounounce this as 'Hergé',and so  one of the most famous comic makers in the history of our known universe got his name. \n\nHis famous character, Tintin, a young reporter from Brussels traveled the world, went to the moon (before space travel was a fact) and was recently immortalised once more by Steven Spielberg. Tintin has some dark secrets, however. And it has nothing to do with how he got his famous hairstyle (it was caused by the wind, while traveling in Russia). \n\nIt's the first two comic books. Today, we would call them out as being racist, stereotyping and so on. We would raise our voices to get books like that off the market. But still, Tintin is loved by many, even in the countries that are supposedly ridiculed. What's all the fuss about? It was Baldwin who gave the Democratic Republic of Congo its independence, after that the country had been exploited as a colony for way too many years.  In Congo, they called Baldwin 'Bwana Kitoko', the pretty white guy.  What our other king, Leopold II had done over there wasn't pretty, however. Once, Congo was Leopold II's private property and with help of people like Leon Rom (the villain in the latest Tarzan movie) he decimated a large part of the population. Firstly, the comics were made in another time, with another mentality. We already discussed this above. \nSecondly, today, there are African people in Congo who make Tintin statues to sell to tourists. Those things are great. I'm the happy owner of such a lovely thing. Sure, some money is earned, but still, there's no anger. \nThirdly, the voices of outrage are heard mainly in the Western, so-called civilised world. When I discussed this with some Congolese people, they just smiled and said 'it's art, it's OK' or something like this.  They could laugh with the silly ideas we had about their culture. \n\nBut when I tell them I'm ashamed about what Leopold II has done in the name of our little country, there is no smile to be seen. That's because it was all too real.",

He has his own museum, he has a wall in the capital with his image on it.       "body": "The sun is shining in my bedroom on this most lovely morning. I hear the pigeons, the birds, a few cars outside and the gentle breathing of the love of my life. She's chasing rainbows in her dreams and she has no flipping clue that her hubby is thinking about pick-up lines. \n\nNot that I would ever use them, no thanks. We have been together for over 23 years now and I couldn't be happier. But you see, I was a mentalist once. Not a psychic, but an entertainer who acted as if he could read minds. As such, I have read tons of books about psychology and human relations.  One of those books was 'the game' by Neil Strauss.  It was a great read, but I was already married then. My wife was pregnant with our first child. Still, the book intrigued me. \n\nNeil Strauss states that there's a structure in realtionships. First you need to open, then you demonstrate value and later you can establish an emotional and a physical connection. This post is about those openers. I had to open a lot, when doing my strolling mindreading act, so I decided to learn form those pick-up artists. \n\nBut I'm a practical guy. I wanted to know the best opening line and the world. So I searched in books, online, talked with all kinds of crazy casanova's and daring Don Juans. And then, I found the holy grail. The best pick-up line in the world. It was researched by some university and published by professor Dutton of Oxford university in a book about psychopaths. Here we go. You walk up to some lovely woman and you say that your friends and you have made a bet. A bet that you wouldn't dare to talk to the prettiest girl in the room and now that you have won you can share a drink on their costs.  That's it. \n\nA team of university researchers actually went out and field tested all kinds of openers in night clubs, pubs, on the streets,... This is the one line that never failed to get a good reaction. \n\nBut there's a caveat: the line has to be followed with a compliment. Otherwise you'll fail. And the reason is this : the lady needs to process all the information given in the opening line. The bet. The fact that  she's supposed to be the prettiest. The drink. You. \n\nIt's a bit much. It puts her in a state of confusion, some kind of micro-hypnosis, so when you give the compliment it is some kind of anchor for her. That's what she hears, that you like her.  And according to university researchers, that's the greatest opener in the world. There's no greater aphrodisiacum then being liked. \n\nOf course, I never tested it. Some of my students did, however. And guess what, it worked. They always got a great reaction. And after the great opener, well, it was up to them, of course. \n\nBecause there aren't spells that can cause real magic.",

It was researched by some university and published by professor Dutton of Oxford university in a book about psychopaths. This is the one line that never failed to get a good reaction. \n\nBut there's a caveat: the line has to be followed with a compliment. Otherwise you'll fail. And the reason is this : the lady needs to process all the information given in the opening line. The bet. The fact that  she's supposed to be the prettiest. The drink. You. \n\nIt's a bit much. It puts her in a state of confusion, some kind of micro-hypnosis, so when you give the compliment it is some kind of anchor for her. That's what she hears, that you like her.
