You may have clicked on this because you are desperate, you want organic (free) traffic and have tried all the tips and tricks found online to improve your SEO game. However, you may not have received the desired results. The goal here is to improve SEO & get organic traffic.\n\nPerhaps you’re already familiar with SEO and have done everything you possibly can but are still not getting that traffic nor that first-page position on Google.\n\nRead the original post at [EF](https://elennyfrometa.com/)\n\n* BUT, WHAT IS SEO?\n\nIn simplified terms, SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is a website’s ability to be visible for search engines when someone looks something up on Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines. AKA, organic traffic.\n\n* WHAT ARE YOU DOING WRONG?\n\nAfter days of intensive research and my personal experience with my website, I put together this post, just for you, to help clarify what SEO consists of, how to do it correctly, and what to hope/not hope for.\n\nThe first disclaimer: do not expect any miracles, Honey. Yes, it is possible to optimize your website for search engines correctly, but you need to realize that it takes time for a search engine like Google to check your site and make sure that your content is up to their standards.\n\n* YOUR IMAGES NEED TO BE OPTIMIZED.\n\nWhat does this mean? Well, buddy. This means that if you write an article titled “how to create a blog” and the keyword is “create a blog,” then you need to name your images according to that title. That way you will get higher chances of getting more exposure on search engines and will make it easier for Google to rank your website.\n\nAdditionally, you might want to make sure that the description of the images also contains many of the main keywords that are found within your post. If you do this, people will see your post even if their Google search was not your main keyword.\n\nDo this for the caption, too. Just make sure that it is hidden within your post because nobody wants to see a bunch of random words under an image.\n\nPro tip: The keywords used for your images should be bold within your post once. It put emphasis on them and may help your website to be found easier. This tip is one of the keys to improve SEO & get organic traffic to your site.\n\n* DO NOT USE COMPETITIVE KEYWORDS; YOU’LL GET LOST IN THE CROWD.\n\nUnless you’re already an established online figure, (congratulations, by the way), you should not use keywords that are highly competitive within your niche. Your content will result in getting lost among all the other posts related to yours and might never be seen. Google ranks a website based on their quality content, among other factors, so the chances are that they might have already listed their number one website and that is unlikely to change due to their outstanding value.\n\n* HOW CAN YOU CHECK HOW COMPETITIVE YOUR KEYWORDS ARE?\n\nThere are numerous plugins, websites, and services that can help you with this. Personally, I use Keywords Everywhere which is a FREE Google Chrome extension that allows me to see the search volume.\nA high search volume might be significant, but that means that it is also a highly competitive keyword.\n\nPro tip: To honestly stand out, you must bring something unique to the game. Perhaps you know a lot about blogging full-time, but what else can you do on your website that makes it unique? What extra word or phrase can you add to those keywords to make them stand out?\nI hope this makes you brainstorm…\n\n* LEARN THE TYPES OF KEYWORDS, USE THE BEST ONE.\n\nDid you know that there are different types of keywords? Mind = blown. Wasn’t this difficult enough already?\n\nGenetic keywords are words or phrases that tend to be too general, such as “phone charger” and “flat screen TV.” They are just too broad and will not help you with your SEO due to its high competition and not being specific enough.\n\nBroad keywords are a little bit more specific. They might be “phone charger for iPhone” and “big flat screen TV.” They will bring in more conversions because you will be specifying what the item is for and what the desired size is.\n\nLong tail keywords are every SEO-friendly website’s best friend. When people Google things, they don’t tend to Google one or two words, they Google sentences. For instance, “how to get a cheap phone charger for iPhone” and “where to get a big flat screen TV for a good price.” These long tail keywords are usually what people look for, and what will place you in a high ranking.\nThe conversion rates are stronger, too.\n\nPro tip: In case you haven’t noticed, long tail keywords may work best. You might feel tempted to use keywords with a high search volume, but the chances are that using long tail keywords will give you more conversions.\n\n* EXPERIMENT, EXPERIMENT, EXPERIMENT.\n\nI do not want you to try every single damn thing you read online. The best way for you to know what works and what doesn’t for your website is by experimenting. Perhaps broad keywords work for you, after all. You will not know unless you try and compare the results.\n\n* BACKLINKS; A WEBSITE’S BEST ALLY.\n\nA backlink is when a website links back to yours. It is a little self-explanatory.\nWhenever someone writes a post and includes a link to your website, you get a backlink.\nWhen you receive valuable backlinks, Google validates your website as a credible and trusted source, leading to a high position in search engines. As a great addition, you’ll get more traffic!\n\n* HOW TO GET BACKLINKS?\n\nYou can start by writing guest posts for other websites and including links in your article. Make sure you read their submission guidelines and provide them with a high-quality post that you know will convert. Finding websites to publish on depends on your niche, and a quick Google search could help. Some sites allow you to submit already published articles while others require unpublished, fresh pieces.\n\nYou can also consider networking with other bloggers and perhaps work on promoting each other’s websites by collaborating. You can find them by joining Facebook groups as well as Pinterest group boards.\n\n* ADD NUMBERS TO YOUR TITLES AND DESCRIPTION TAGS.\n\nPersonally, I may not always do this because I don’t usually write numbered lists. However, if your content is a “7 ways to” or “13 reasons why,” then you would want to include those numbers in your title and description tag. People are more responsive to numbers than to plain words.\n\n* GO STRAIGHT TO THE MAIN DAMN POINT.\n\nThis point will reduce your bounce rate. If you want to teach others how to do something, then go straight to the “how-to.” Do not write a long introduction that will bore your readers and drive them away. Not only will you lose traffic, but Google will hate your website and not give it a good rate.\n\nPro tip: If you feel stuck, get yourself a planner and plan ahead what your post will consist of. The ones where people claim to be millionaires and promising you that you will get rich quick as long as you let them teach you how they did it.\n\nLet me tell you something before I continue with this post, ready?\n\n# THERE IS NO WAY TO GET RICH QUICK UNLESS YOU WIN THE LOTTERY! #\n\nOkay, back to the post.\n\nYou may have thought, “if they got rich so quick, maybe I can do it, too! They will teach me!” And the fact that they own (or rent) Lamborghinis and live in a luxurious home affects their credibility and pushes you towards buying whatever they’re selling.\n\n# WHAT THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE “GET RICH QUICK” SCHEMES DO #\n\n### ENCOURAGE YOU TO NOT GO TO COLLEGE. ###\n\nTheir most notorious phrase is, “stop going to college for a degree, you want to make money now.”\n\nAlthough you do want to make money now, you should also consider that having a college degree is the key to landing in a good job, especially if you don’t own a business and are not interested in having one. Also, with a college education, you are more likely to have significant connections that will lead to great things in the future, like a partnership.\n\nWhat if you do end up getting rich by doing whatever they’re telling you to do, and something fails or the system crashes? You will be left with no work experience, no education, and no money.\n\n### SELL YOU THEIR “PROFITABLE” SYSTEMS. ###\n\nThere are numerous ways to make money from home and become successful doing so. However, no system is supposed to simplify that by giving you shortcuts. Success takes time and dedication.\n\nThey will also sell you their system for an incredibly high price!\n\nAre they claiming to know how to beat the stock market’s system? That is not possible with the advanced technology and the bots taking over.\n\n### PORTRAY A LAVISH LIFESTYLE. ###\n\nWhen you go to their social media accounts, you will notice how luxurious their lives are. However, they are not just showing off their expensive things (that they might even not own), but they use that lifestyle as marketing for you to purchase what they are selling because they know that you want that lifestyle.\n\nYou need to consider that they might live in a state where everything is more affordable. I live in NYC, buying a property here is a BLESSING! Saving enough money for it is a BLESSING! Why? Because it is so expensive that if you get to own a home, you are beyond being financially stable.\n\nHowever, in a state such as Texas, it is very common for people to own huge and affordable homes.\n\nRemember that Lambo I mentioned up there? They might have rented it! They might be drowning in debt paying for that car just to show off and to get your trust!\n\nIf they have a large following, you need to know that they are most likely influencers, (meaning that they get paid for sponsoring and promoting brands), so what you see on their posts might just be free products.\n\nYou need to be smarter than that and consider all the factors.\n\n### SHOW YOU HOW THEY MAKE MONEY. ###\n\nPretend that I’m a person that teaches people how to trade stocks (for a price, of course). When you go to my Instagram, you might find results from my MetaTrader app showing how much money I’ve earned overnight.\n\nThen pretend you see another one of my posts talking about how I went from having $4.35 in my bank account to having six figures in less than 12 months. You might think that I achieved that by solely trading. No, trading was simply part of my income, perhaps 20%. The other 80% came from me teaching you (by charging you) how to do it. Surprise!\n\nI have seen many stock traders play this trick. The reality is that they are millionaires because their money comes from your pockets, not just from trading.\n\nIt is perfectly fine to invest in yourself by paying for courses that will teach you valuable information and strategies. However, the person selling it must be honest about how they make their money rather than selling you a fake lifestyle.\n\n### PYRAMID SCHEMES. ###\n\nThis point is highly controversial. If a recruiter from a company is trying to get you to join them, then the company is a pyramid (where the person that recruited you gets a commission out of your sales). Why should a job or business consist of people being recruited (by paying a membership to enroll) to gain its profit rather than selling goods that people need and want to purchase?\n\nMy father lost thousands of dollars after joining a pyramid scheme that soon collapsed due to their illegal, hidden practices!
