I don’t mention this to give myself authority but instead show you what is possible when you use psychedelics as a tool for Elemental Growth. I started my life off a mess - using sex, ecstasy, alcohol and cocaine to cover up pain rooted in childhood abuse. I was taught to hold things in and that the stuff I wanted to talk about didn’t matter. I was shown that drinking, putting on a mask and SAD (Standard American Diet) foods were my only options in life and then I had my first dose of psychedelic mushrooms. I realized just how f***ed up and oppressed every culture is, I saw the big picture. I moved out of my moms at 14 years old, was kicked out of high school shortly after and had a rough few years learning about the world and who I am. At 20 I began experiencing hormonal issues but continued to party, at this time I also decided to get an education. Because I liked to party and travel, I enrolled into College as a Hospitality and Tourism student. Wise at the time but I am still paying student loans off for this party phase of my life. After a few semesters I began to travel Canada accumulating new life expierences along the way. One day as I looked out at the Pacific Ocean, I heard a voice tell me “it’s time to get sober, and to do this you have to go home to the roots of where your trauma started”. I did get sober shortly after my return. I cleaned up my diet too and truly did start healing my roots. I created a timeline of my life, I said goodbye to friends, family, items and thoughts that did nothing good for me. I also threw myself into 2 hours of Kundalini Yoga DVD’s by Maya Fiennes everyday and a weekend dose of psychedelic mushrooms. I was doing the meditation thing, the clean eating thing but it was mushrooms that truly made the connections and guided me back to purpose and passion for life. It was the mushrooms that told me to start looking at my food in a new light – to think about life force energy and what I consume psychically, mentally and spiritually - even more why I am consuming it. For a year I tested every food in my local grocery store and bulk bin to see if it would grow. That’s how I got into Fluoride, GMO’s and our solutions “Permaculture” and Integrative Nutrition. It was mushrooms that introduced me and ultimately the reason I became obsessed with Joe Rogan, Duncan Trussell and the McKenna Brothers. It was mushrooms that supported my sacred journey to sobriety, backpacking 3 countries in South America with no map or clue what I was doing and it was mushrooms that has helped me clear out my C-PTSD so I can fill my life up with laughter and good times with my son who gets the best of me everyday. What is a Bio Hack? Bio hacking is all about self-improvement and human optimization. As Tony Robins explains it “Biohacking is essentially the practice of changing our chemistry and our physiology through science and self-experimentation to energize and enhance the body.” Now I don’t know if Tony practices with entheogens but I know that they have helped me make the process of bio-hacking more focused and enjoyable. Here’s My Prescription For C-PTSD My bio-hacking specialty is in the realm of Moon Cycles, Circadian Rhythm, Seasonal Alignment, Positive Psychology & personized Alchemy but there is a large spectrum so I dabble to level up my own rituals. Most recently I have been micro dosing psilocybin twice per month as part of my new and full moon rituals written about in my book Be The Change: Your Guide to Elemental Growth Through Nature, Love, Food & Movement. Top 3 Elemental Tips 1. Write an ongoing list of all the things you hate and title it “Things I Will No Longer Tolerate” 2. Take action by recognizing your feelings as they come up and then eliminating the things that make you feel like sh** 3. Reward yourself with new habits that align with who and where you want to be. Your dreams are only possible when you believe “it’s all happening”. I am Ashley, and this is my blog on how I bio hacked C-PTSD and my destructive behaviors using psychedelic mushrooms. I am the girl that has cleaned up her life, broken through family karma and tapped into her natural flow. Like me you have everything you need to heal yourself and reach each dream you put forth but you don’t have to do it alone. Having your own guide on the side lines can help you breakthrough roadblocks and unleash your true potential. | body |  Embracing a greener lifestyle is about more than the environment, it can also improve your health, save you money, and improve your quality of life by adding a greater purpose to your decisions. While it's easy to get overwhelmed, it's also simple to begin making a positive impact. The truth is that everything single thing we do every day has an impact on the planet (good or bad). The good news is that you have the power to control your choices and align your decisions with your values. You do not need to put lot of money towards going green, in fact it becomes simple by making small changes to your daily lifestyle. Why wouldn't you want to “go green” and share this message with our children? Here are the EG Top 10 eco-essentials:  Ode’ to Thrift stores: No matter where I live or visit I can always rely on finding one or more reuse stores that will provide my needs. Shopping in thrift stores for clothing, toys and household items saves me money and helps reduces overall consumption.  Reduce Plastic: Alway buy condiments and beverages in glass when possible. You can reuse glass over and over and don't have to worry about toxins, this additional applies when opting for items like eco-food wraps instead of saran wrap. These simple decisions reduce the consumption and production of plastic. We are conditioned to think that we dont matter when in fact our actions create a ripple effect which is a force best used to spread a positive message, Some other things to consider is opting to use reusable produce and shopping bags.  Kitchen Scraps: To start composting is always recommended, it creates healthy soil to grow healthy food, creates a home for beneficial microbes and you have so many options to choose from. You can make your own compost, dig a pit or purchase one. Also consider freezing some of your veggie scraps to make soup stock which will save you money and from eating the additives that can be found in most store bought options. Additionally, you can use kitchen scraps to start your own garden by harvesting your own seeds and regrowth techniques.  Mason Jars: Mason jars are a staple in most homes because they are so versatile and last forever if you take care of them. Fynn is very good with glass because its all he knows and he has broken very few things in this time. In our home mason jars are used for fermenting, pickling, canning, dry food storage, freezing and everyday dishware.  Straws: Did you know straws cannot be recycled and pose a serious threat, in the U.S. alone 500 million straws are used each day. That is enough straw waste to wrap the circumference of the earth 2.5 times or to fill Yankee Stadium over 9 times in a year. This is just one reason why opting for stainless steel straws is a recommended option.  Kitchen: In the kitchen choose glass, wood and metal options, because they are most sustainable. This being said if you have plastic instead of throwing it all away, replace the items slowly and give the plastic to you kids for an outdoor kitchen. Another material I have become fond of is silicone. A few years ago we started adding in items like spatulas, muffin cups and baking mats.  Convenience: A go to for parents convince today is food pouches, being disposable and convenient this is creating a lot of waste. If this is something you do, consider reusable food pouches. I bought these for Fynn and would fill them with leftover soup and smoothies which he loved, you can freeze them too making it super convenient for you too.  Mouth: Instead of using the typical teething methods many moms are opting for amber teething necklaces, we did this too. Amber has anti-inflammatory and therapeutic properties, it also contains immune boosting properties, all this and more aids the reduction In teething pain and calms a baby without resorting to drugs. Another thing we did was switch to a bamboo toothbrush, did you know, toothbrushes are made from a combination of plastic (made from crude oil) and rubber for the hand piece, nylon for the bristles, and a mix of plastic and cardboard for the packaging. None of these items are biodegradable. Additionally, the United States has estimated that over 850 million toothbrushes are discarded and end up in landfill every single year.  Swap Parties: If you like most people, I bet you have many items in your closet and home that you don't want to part with even though you have outgrown the happiness it once brought you. This is where swap parties come in. Instead of boxing you stuff up for a stranger or holding on to it for a lifetime, you collect it all and ask your friends to do the same. You then meet up a couple times a year to cleanse the old and maybe even take in some new. Whatever is left over next time can be donated. Recycling your items is the best way to implement a green way of living or an easy way to enhance your eco-mama lifestyle.  Raw Materials: Many of us enjoy a good DIY project, but did you know its also sustainable and an awesome creativity outlet. Wood, bamboo and recycled materials are all great choices for eco-mammas. "body": "\n\nEmbracing a greener lifestyle is about more than the environment, it can also improve your health, save you money, and improve your quality of life by adding a greater purpose to your decisions. While it's easy to get overwhelmed, it's also simple to begin making a positive impact. The truth is that everything single thing we do every day has an impact on the planet (good or bad). The good news is that you have the power to control your choices and align your decisions with your values. You do not need to put lot of money towards going green, in fact it becomes simple by making small changes to your daily lifestyle. Why wouldn't you want to “go green” and share this message with our children?\n\nHere are the EG Top 10 eco-essentials:\n\n\n\n\nOde’ to Thrift stores: No matter where I live or visit I can always rely on finding one or more reuse stores that will provide my needs. Shopping in thrift stores for clothing, toys and household items saves me money and helps reduces overall consumption. \n\n\n\nReduce Plastic: Alway buy condiments and beverages in glass when possible. You can reuse glass over and over and don't have to worry about toxins, this additional applies when opting for items like eco-food wraps instead of saran wrap. These simple decisions reduce the consumption and production of plastic. We are conditioned to think that we dont matter when in fact our actions create a ripple effect which is a force best used to spread a positive message, Some other things to consider is opting to use reusable produce and shopping bags.\n\n\n\nKitchen Scraps: To start composting is always recommended, it creates healthy soil to grow healthy food, creates a home for beneficial microbes and you have so many options to choose from. You can make your own compost, dig a pit or purchase one. Also consider freezing some of your veggie scraps to make soup stock which will save you money and from eating the additives that can be found in most store bought options. Additionally, you can use kitchen scraps to start your own garden by harvesting your own seeds and regrowth techniques.\n\n\n\nMason Jars: Mason jars are a staple in most homes because they are so versatile and last forever if you take care of them. Fynn is very good with glass because its all he knows and he has broken very few things in this time. In our home mason jars are used for fermenting, pickling, canning, dry food storage, freezing and everyday dishware. \n\n\n\nStraws: Did you know straws cannot be recycled and pose a serious threat, in the U.S. alone 500 million straws are used each day. That is enough straw waste to wrap the circumference of the earth 2.5 times or to fill Yankee Stadium over 9 times in a year. This is just one reason why opting for stainless steel straws is a recommended option. \n\n\n\nKitchen: In the kitchen choose glass, wood and metal options, because they are most sustainable. This being said if you have plastic instead of throwing it all away, replace the items slowly and give the plastic to you kids for an outdoor kitchen. Another material I have become fond of is silicone. A few years ago we started adding in items like spatulas, muffin cups and baking mats.\n\n\n\nConvenience: A go to for parents convince today is food pouches, being disposable and convenient this is creating a lot of waste. If this is something you do, consider reusable food pouches. I bought these for Fynn and would fill them with leftover soup and smoothies which he loved, you can freeze them too making it super convenient for you too.\n\n\nMouth: Instead of using the typical teething methods many moms are opting for amber teething necklaces, we did this too. Amber has anti-inflammatory and therapeutic properties, it also contains immune boosting properties, all this and more aids the reduction In teething pain and calms a baby without resorting to drugs. Another thing we did was switch to a bamboo toothbrush, did you know, toothbrushes are made from a combination of plastic (made from crude oil) and rubber for the hand piece, nylon for the bristles, and a mix of plastic and cardboard for the packaging. None of these items are biodegradable. Additionally, the United States has estimated that over 850 million toothbrushes are discarded and end up in landfill every single year.\n\n\n\nSwap Parties: If you like most people, I bet you have many items in your closet and home that you don't want to part with even though you have outgrown the happiness it once brought you. This is where swap parties come in. Instead of boxing you stuff up for a stranger or holding on to it for a lifetime, you collect it all and ask your friends to do the same. You then meet up a couple times a year to cleanse the old and maybe even take in some new. Whatever is left over next time can be donated. Recycling your items is the best way to implement a green way of living or an easy way to enhance your eco-mama lifestyle.\n\n\n\nRaw Materials: Many of us enjoy a good DIY project, but did you know its also sustainable and an awesome creativity outlet. Wood, bamboo and recycled materials are all great choices for eco-mammas. | body |  Eat the Rainbow Chakras are energy centers in the body that start at the base of the spine, and travel up to the crown chakra at the top of your head. When your chakras are open and balanced, they draw fresh energy in from the unified field which replenishes and nourishes your personal energy field, keeping you happy and healthy. Because our chakras are invisible to most of us you may be thinking that chakras would thrive on energy, prayer, spiritual and hippie dippy stuff. This is true however, its equally important to feed and nourish our physical body to help support and fuel our chakras. Each chakra governs different body parts and different aspects of your life, so if a chakra is unbalanced, the body part and spiritual messages it governs will also become imbalanced. There are seven chakras that are focused on most often; The Root Chakra, located as the base of the spine, which represents our foundation and grounding. The Sacral Chakra, located in the lower abdomen, which represents creativity, passion, intimacy, and connection. The Solar Plexus Chakra, located in the upper abdomen, which represents self-worth, confidence, and the power of transformation. The Heart Chakra, located in the center of the chest, represents love, forgiveness, inner peace, and joy. The Throat Chakra, located in the throat, represents truth, communication and expression. The Third Eye Chakra, located between the eyebrows, represents imagination, intelligence, and trust. The Crown Chakra, located at the top of the head, represents oneness, spirituality, and divinity.  Chakras can often become blocked/unbalanced. When this happens, it disrupts the flow of energy in our bodies and causes emotional/physical issues. There is a lot of information out there on the chakras and healing them so if you think you may have an unbalance you can check online or find a reiki practitioner (elementalgrowth.org) that is trained to see and realign your chakras so that energy can flow freely through you. In today's standard american diet (SAD), most of what is purchased and being consumed falls into the “white/beige” food colour category. Your typical day may start with cereal, pastry or granola, for lunch a sandwich and chips and for supper pasta or chicken. What's really cool about plants is that their colour (or the tiny compounds that create their colour), sources powerful phytonutrients/phytochemicals, the thousands of different chemicals studied in plants have proven their ability to reduce our risk of chronic diseases and cancer. The rainbow found in our food represent over 25,000 different phytonutrients and when we eat/drink these foods we stimulate enzymes that help the body eliminate toxins, boost the immune system, promote healthy oestrogen metabolism, support cardiovascular health and kill off cancer cells. What’s even cooler is that each different colour represents different families of healing chemicals.  Most Americans Aren’t Getting the Range of Colorful Foods They Need According to a 2009 phytonutrients report (based on data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys), 8 out of 10 people in the US are falling short in virtually every color category of phytonutrients. Based on the report, 78% of Americans are falling short in red phytonutrients 79% of Americans are falling short in yellow and orange phytonutrients 69% of Americans are falling short in green phytonutrients 88% of Americans are falling short in purple and blue phytonutrients 86% of Americans are falling short in white phytonutrients Our bodies benefit from variety, we need a rainbow of nutrients and colors. In fact, the variety of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytochemicals in fruits and vegetables have enormous healing powers. Eating a diversity of colorful foods can be an easy way to get a complete range of the vitamins and minerals your body needs to thrive. Red Root Chakra/Muladhara Element: Earth In balance: safe, secure, grounded Imbalanced: Joints, hips, knees, thighs, lower back, feet, feelings of insecurity, unsafe, survivor, fight or flight. Nutrition: bright red foods from the earth, food grown with deep roots or on a vine, red herbal teas Practice: walk barefoot, beach yoga. Mantra: I am establishing roots by learning to forgive my caregivers from early childhood, I am safe safe, secure, and my basic needs are being met on a daily basis.I am the hero of my own story. Orange/Brown Sacral Chakra/Svadhisthana Element: water In balance:healthy relationships, pleasure, joy, balance, harmony, creating, abundance. Imbalanced: addictions, negative self-image, hormone imbalance, infertility, cravings Nutrition: earth and trace minerals, mushrooms, water, orange foods, orange spices and teas Practice: daily affirmations, yoga, swimming, hiking, massage Mantra: I am express my creativity and pursue my passions. I am nurturing my intuition and my relationships that thrive. Yellow Solar Plexus/Manipura Element: Fire In balance: worthy, progress, warmth, comfort, healthy boundaries, self-worth, inner power, energy, gut/intuition, trust, intimacy, eye contact Imbalanced: unbalanced cortisol and insulin levels, powerless, victim, irregular sleep patterns, stress, adrenal fatigue, poor listening habits, acidic body, victim Nutrition: fermented foods, yellow vegetables, healthy fats and yellow herbal teas Practice: meditation, outdoor activities, breathwork, yogic twists and ab work Mantra: I am authentic and intuitive. This is true however, its equally important to feed and nourish our physical body to help support and fuel our chakras. \n\nEach chakra governs different body parts and different aspects of your life, so if a chakra is unbalanced, the body part and spiritual messages it governs will also become imbalanced. There are seven chakras that are focused on most often; The Root Chakra, located as the base of the spine, which represents our foundation and grounding. The Sacral Chakra, located in the lower abdomen, which represents creativity, passion, intimacy, and connection. The Solar Plexus Chakra, located in the upper abdomen, which represents self-worth, confidence, and the power of transformation. The Heart Chakra, located in the center of the chest, represents love, forgiveness, inner peace, and joy. The Throat Chakra, located in the throat, represents truth, communication and expression. The Third Eye Chakra, located between the eyebrows, represents imagination, intelligence, and trust. | body |  What is a Craving? A craving by definition is to have a powerful desire for something. Our body is so wise and it sends signals throughout every cell to tell us what we need. We have all experienced this and can maybe even recognize the symptoms of a craving for what it is - a message of what we may be lacking and how our metabolism may be working. There is no single explanation for food cravings, and explanations very depending on who you talk to. What we do know is that low serotonin levels affect the brain centers and this is most commonly a result of consuming trans fats and simple carbohydrates. Foods with high levels of sugar glucose, such as chocolate, are more frequently craved than foods with lower sugar glucose, kale, because they are addicting. Some scientists of the food industry build their careers on finding a “bliss point”, the magical equation of fat, sugar and salt that make it impossible to have just one. It can take up to 2 weeks to really crusade a craving, to rebuild your taste buds and replace a habit. If you are a “bliss point” consumer this may be a detoxing process, especially the first week but don't stop because consuming glucose in any refined form (most boxed and canned food) will fuel the urge to consume more glucose, much like an alcoholic, because the brain has become conditioned to release "happy hormones" every time glucose is present.  There is evidence that addiction and food craving activate some of the same brain areas. Specifically, when smokers look at pictures of people smoking it activates the same areas of the brain as when obese people look at pictures of food. To spot your patterns and discover what you’re really craving, try keeping a “cravings journal.” maybe that evening chocolate craving is really your body telling you that you need a break from your desk. Once we turn off autopilot. We might notice that our pasta craving really means a friendly ear and a hug.  Instead of being a slave to your cravings, listen to them and be curious. They may be giving you valuable information, sometimes they are rooted in emotional and mental places but other times were getting mixed signals about which foods we need. Mixed signals develop when we eat unconsciously, buying precooked and take out meals over and over, trying to understand labels when they are meant to confuse us, and grabbing the first thing that comes to mind instead of listening to our intuition. The next page is all about realigning your pathways so that you can nurture your intuition and crusade those toxic cravings for good!  Crusaders You Crave: Sweets! You may need energy, so do something that makes you feel energetic - play your favorite dance song or head outside for a walk with a friend. When your blood sugar is unstable our bodies scream for us to balance it. A quick shot of sweets does bring the blood sugar up, fast… but what goes up must come down and when your blood sugar crashes yet again, we want another sweet. Stress is most often the cause and a lack of magnesium tends to magnify the stress reaction, worsening the problem. In studies, adrenaline and cortisol, byproducts of the “fight or flight” reaction associated with stress and anxiety, were associated with decreased magnesium. 80% of us are deficient in magnesium, so its an awesome idea to crowd this craving out naturally using foods high in magnesium like dark leafy greens, nuts, seeds, beans, whole grains, avocados, bananas, dried fruit and dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa). Maybe your notice that you crave pasta more when we have cooler weather, which can often lead you to comfort foods.. Regardless of the reasons why your body is craving carbs make sure if you choose to indulge in it you pair it with something healthy like vegetables or good fats like avocados. When you crave carbohydrates this is a sign you are lacking the amino acid tryptophan. The body to synthesis the chemical serotonin uses tryptophan. Take that nap you want, or indulge in some self-care practice you have been neglecting. Craving meat could also be a sign the body is in need of more iron. Iron and zinc play a vital role in supporting the immune system, as it helps to transport oxygen throughout the body. You may be stressed, before grabbing for your fix try taking some mindful breaths and recenter yourself. When stress levels rise, many people crave their favorite foods for comfort. Foods that people commonly craved are often high in fat, sugar, or salt. The "comfort food" habit can cause adrenal fatigue and decrease overall health. Caffeine cravings are a little different, it may be out of habit (it's morning time!) or a physiological need—like you are tired and your body is used to the caffeine “buzz”. It's important to remember that caffeine is a stimulant, it does not provide energy, that comes from carbs (preferably complex carbs which are nutrient-dense and easiest to digest). You may also be craving coffee because you are addicted to caffeine. If you find yourself unable to get through the day without coffee or experience caffeine headaches when you don’t have coffee you are probably addicted. Our brain recognizes that cheese contains natural milk sugars and we know now that sugar releases dopamine, this is why cheese is a crazily delicious and addictive food. There is a reason why people say “I could never give up cheese” and why so many people transitioning to a plant-based diet struggle with this food, it’s because it has natural addictive traits. This is from the casomorphin protein fragments found in dairy which has an opioid effect on our brains, similar to that of human breast milk but on a larger and concentrated. Bovine are much larger animals than humans who produce milk to feed much larger babies, this milk is refined and concentrated to make cheese. Craving cheese could also mean your body isn’t getting enough calcium or vitamin D. Although cheese may contain both of these nutrients it isn’t enough to satisfy the body. Ice cream is such a delicious treat because it comes in so many amazing flavors that you can have some for every occasion. You can even have ice cream if you don't consume dairy, there are so many great alternatives out there such as coconut ice cream, but, craving ice cream could be a sign that your body is exhausted. Ice cream, as well as many other dairy or dairy alternatives contain sugars and our bodies recognize it as a quick boost of energy. You could also be craving ice cream after supper of habit or because it helps control your stomach acidity. Next time you have an ice cream craving consider a quick power nap instead and make sure you’re eating a nutrient-dense meal to help prevent this. "body": "\n\nWhat is a Craving?\n\nA craving by definition is to have a powerful desire for something. Our body is so wise and it sends signals throughout every cell to tell us what we need. We have all experienced this and can maybe even recognize the symptoms of a craving for what it is - a message of what we may be lacking and how our metabolism may be working. There is no single explanation for food cravings, and explanations very depending on who you talk to. What we do know is that low serotonin levels affect the brain centers and this is most commonly a result of consuming trans fats and simple carbohydrates. Foods with high levels of sugar glucose, such as chocolate, are more frequently craved than foods with lower sugar glucose, kale, because they are addicting. \n\nSome scientists of the food industry build their careers on finding a “bliss point”, the magical equation of fat, sugar and salt that make it impossible to have just one. It can take up to 2 weeks to really crusade a craving, to rebuild your taste buds and replace a habit. If you are a “bliss point” consumer this may be a detoxing process, especially the first week but don't stop because consuming glucose in any refined form (most boxed and canned food) will fuel the urge to consume more glucose, much like an alcoholic, because the brain has become conditioned to release \"happy hormones\" every time glucose is present. \n\n\n\nThere is evidence that addiction and food craving activate some of the same brain areas. Specifically, when smokers look at pictures of people smoking it activates the same areas of the brain as when obese people look at pictures of food. To spot your patterns and discover what you’re really craving, try keeping a “cravings journal.” maybe that evening chocolate craving is really your body telling you that you need a break from your desk. Once we turn off autopilot. We might notice that our pasta craving really means a friendly ear and a hug.\n\n\n\nInstead of being a slave to your cravings, listen to them and be curious. They may be giving you valuable information, sometimes they are rooted in emotional and mental places but other times were getting mixed signals about which foods we need. Mixed signals develop when we eat unconsciously, buying precooked and take out meals over and over, trying to understand labels when they are meant to confuse us, and grabbing the first thing that comes to mind instead of listening to our intuition. A quick shot of sweets does bring the blood sugar up, fast… but what goes up must come down and when your blood sugar crashes yet again, we want another sweet. In studies, adrenaline and cortisol, byproducts of the “fight or flight” reaction associated with stress and anxiety, were associated with decreased magnesium. 80% of us are deficient in magnesium, so its an awesome idea to crowd this craving out naturally using foods high in magnesium like dark leafy greens, nuts, seeds, beans, whole grains, avocados, bananas, dried fruit and dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa). \n\nRecipe: https://wellnessmama.com/5804/magnesium-oil/ \n\nCarbs!\nThis can be a sign that your feeling depressed, physical exercise is great way to lift your mood and kick this craving. Maybe your notice that you crave pasta more when we have cooler weather, which can often lead you to comfort foods.. Regardless of the reasons why your body is craving carbs make sure if you choose to indulge in it you pair it with something healthy like vegetables or good fats like avocados. When you crave carbohydrates this is a sign you are lacking the amino acid tryptophan. The body to synthesis the chemical serotonin uses tryptophan. Take that nap you want, or indulge in some self-care practice you have been neglecting. Craving meat could also be a sign the body is in need of more iron. Iron and zinc play a vital role in supporting the immune system, as it helps to transport oxygen throughout the body. When stress levels rise, many people crave their favorite foods for comfort. Foods that people commonly craved are often high in fat, sugar, or salt. The \"comfort food\" habit can cause adrenal fatigue and decrease overall health. You may also be craving coffee because you are addicted to caffeine. If you find yourself unable to get through the day without coffee or experience caffeine headaches when you don’t have coffee you are probably addicted. There is a reason why people say “I could never give up cheese” and why so many people transitioning to a plant-based diet struggle with this food, it’s because it has natural addictive traits. This is from the casomorphin protein fragments found in dairy which has an opioid effect on our brains, similar to that of human breast milk but on a larger and concentrated. Bovine are much larger animals than humans who produce milk to feed much larger babies, this milk is refined and concentrated to make cheese. Craving cheese could also mean your body isn’t getting enough calcium or vitamin D. Although cheese may contain both of these nutrients it isn’t enough to satisfy the body. Ice cream, as well as many other dairy or dairy alternatives contain sugars and our bodies recognize it as a quick boost of energy. You could also be craving ice cream after supper of habit or because it helps control your stomach acidity. | body |  Today the Pink moon, which represents rebirth and growth. This full Moon invites us to be conscious of our deepest desires and will be at its peak around 9pm. Following the moon cycles is what I have found to be the simplest way to break down large goals and consciously track my progress. Astrologers believe that our energy begins to build at the new moon (a time to ask/manifest), then peaks two weeks later at the full moon (a time to release/receive). In many cultures, farmers have planted by the new moon and harvested by the full moon. In this blog you will learn the steps to create a “moonfest” ritual of your own. Our journey begins on the New Moon when the sky is a black canvas, which is why it’s the perfect time to kick off a new project or idea. Create a dream board and lay a foundation for what you want to manifest. Set intentions, reach out to experts in your field, this is a time for new beginnings, a time to ask and manifest.  Full moons are times of completion, a time to release all that doesn't serve you anymore, maybe it’s the past that you want to release, maybe it’s fear of the future or thoughts and ideas that your having today. This is also the time to reap what you sow, in other words gather your hard work, your progress and experience and make space to begin something new. Full moons are like cosmic spotlights, they can be illuminating and provide us the nourishment we need in body, mind and spirit. Everything comes out into the open in the light of the full moon including our shadowy places but you are fearless and deserve to achieve every goal you set for yourself.  The moon phases are important periods for Healers worldwide, some gather in groups to practice Meditation while others benefit from connecting with the earth and moon energies as an individual practice. The moon symbolizes the mind & emotions and is one of the most influential heavenly bodies that affects all people on earth. During a full moon, everything becomes magnified (good and bad). Therefore the full moon can be both viewed as a time of crisis as well as a time of opportunity. It depends on who you are and where you are in life. Spiritual practitioners, use the magnifying effects of the moon to deepen their spiritual practice and meditation to serve humanity. The effects of the full/new moon last 5 days, the day of the moon, as well as two days before and 2 days after. Some use this time for fasting which purifies the body and prepares you for all that is to come.This is a time of increasing spiritual awareness and global consciousness.  Create Your Own Moonfest Ritual All rituals govern your inner transformation in a ceremonial way. You are showing yourself and the Universe that you are ready to let go for the new you to emerge, like shedding your skin. Moonfest rituals make way for new magical opportunities to come to you. Using the elements: Earth, grounds you in the present Air, loves to analyze and honors forgiveness Fire, consumes and burns away the old Water, cleanses and washes away What you need: Pen, in any colours Paper of any kind Matches Candle Bowls x2 Water Smudge (optional) If possible go outside under the sky, this is called a “moon bath” and connects you directly with Mother Nature and the Moon’s energies. If you cannot be outside, find a quiet place indoors, often in the winter I take a bath in the tub with herbs and other items I feel drawn to at the time (salts, oatmeal, flowers, baking soda, apple cider vinegar, clay, ect).  Clear your energy by using some smudging herbs and allow all negative and non-serving energies to fade away. Create a sacred space by placing a candle and other special items around you like crystals. Light the candle, and fill one of your bowls with water, then place both in front of you. Take a few deep breaths, to ground yourself in the moment and then begin to write what you wish to receive/release from your life. Consider limiting beliefs you want to be free from, habits that no longer serve you and anything else you want to let go of.  Place one corner of the piece of paper over the candle allowing the flame to light your page, then throw the page into the empty bowl and let it burn. Watch the flames consume what you are releasing, the smoke takes your intentions to the Universe. Only when you are willing to let go will the page burn – the faster the flames, the more willing you are to let it go. Wash your hands in the bowl of water and allow inspiration to flow.  Use your intuition to guide you, you may not burn your page thats okay. You may want to jump into the ocean or take a shower to cleanse and contemplate, maybe you prefer to meditate on what to let go of instead of writing it down. Go with what works for you, its all about your intention so as long as your centered in why you are doing things in a certain way, you will see results. Give it a try, It's a very freeing practice and healing for your health. Releasing the things in our lives that no longer serve us (addictions to food, drugs, or sex, suffering from hurtful relationships, physical and emotional pains) is a necessary component to living your best life. Its equally important to set intentions for the things you do want, decisions are powerful so taking the time to bring forth the things you want into the physical world, breathes life into these intentions you want to set for yourself and helps you to prioritize and focus on your desired outcomes. | body |  The chakras are energy centers (nadis) that are located along the spine, they govern different organs, our endraine system and regulate all the hormones in our body. They are also connected to the elements, sound vibration, colour, food and so many other things that will have you wondering “how have I never heard of this before?”. By tuning into this system I have not only found balance and healing in my life but I am also blessed with this opportunity to teach and heal others using my accumulated knowledge and experience. The fourth of the 7 chakras is known as the Heart Chakra, Anahata meaning “unstruct/unhurt”. This is the chakra I connect most with being born an air sign (libra). Air energy is associated to the breath, as well as, connection with nature and a less is more attitude. Anahata is governed by transformation and integration, the heart energy center is the bridge between our inner and outer worlds (upper and lower triangles), the heart is balance itself.  Unbalanced: Being overly defensive Feeling run down Jealousy; fear of intimacy Dependency, relying on others approval and attention Giving love to those who do not want it Falling into victimization roles Excessive isolation/ antisocial Holding grudges, not being able to forgive Respiratory ailments, such as lung infection, bronchitis Circulatory and heart-related issues Balanced: Unconditional love for oneself and others Maintaining lasting and healthy relationships Compassion, empathy Forgiveness, acceptance Transformation, change Ability to grieve and reach peace Center of awareness, integration of insights Courage to embrace your authenticity Experience a connection with all Appreciation of beauty in all things Balancing this energy center can provide the momentum you need to move forward and realize your full potential as human. It plays a fundamental role in our lives, it's the bridge between our two brains (mind/gut) as well as our inner and outer worlds. The key message is to love unconditionally. The Heart Chakra is the centre of your body where you connect with your soul. If there is any kind of imbalance or withholding, the energy of love can’t flow freely and you lose a portion of your lifeforce  Balancing Chakras in daily life: Herbs/Essential Oils: Lavender, Rosemary, Angelica, Frankincense, Ylang ylang, Sandalwood Gemstones: Quartz Crystal (especially clear/pink), Jade, Green Calcite, Opel Food: Feed this chakra leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, dandelion greens, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, celery. | body |  I started doing research into our water after watching “the great culling: our water” in 2013, it’s an eye opening documentary all about water fluoridation. This documentary led me down the rabbit hole where I discovered further research into the oil industry. Some finding were things about the production of water bottles, which uses 17 million barrels of oil a year, that means it takes three times more water to make the bottle then it does to fill it. Additionally, the amount of energy that goes into bottling water would be enough to power 190,000 homes. It’s stated that the global consumption of bottled water goes up 10 percent each year. This new information really hit me and I knew I had to keep digging and figure out what else we don’t know about this industry we seem to depend on.  I started to notice that most bottled water also usually contains fluoride. The fluoride added to most water supplies is not the naturally occurring variety but Fluorosilicic (Hydrofluorosilicic) Acid, which is captured by the fertilizer industry in air pollution devices. Fluoride is the only drug given at an un-monitored dose to every person regardless of age and health. Studies show that it builds up in the body and calcifies certain tissues such as bones, teeth and the pineal gland. There has never been a single randomized controlled trial to demonstrate fluoridation’s effectiveness or safety, crazy right. Especially considering that Fluoride is known to damage the brain, lower IQ, have neurotoxic effects, cause distress on the endocrine system (hormones and glands), damage bones, cause reproductive problem, and so on.  Conspirators have been trying to tell us for decades that in 1945, when the US began adding fluoride to its water supply it was not because they loved us. In fact today, 27 separate studies have shown that the average IQ of children exposed to raised fluoride concentrations is around seven points lower. This is just one reason why the majority of European countries have banned water fluoridation, why China opposes fluoride in tap water, and begs the question why only about 5 percent of the world fluoridates its water, us.  For decades fluoride has been added to your toothpaste, formula, and drinking water to supposedly build healthy teeth and prevent cavities and this has been a highly controversial practice. The US Centers for Disease Control calling the fluoridation of water “one of 10 great public health achievements of the 20th century.” and the World Health Organization reporting fluoride as a naturally occurring toxin. In the March 2014 edition of The Lancet Neurology, one of the most prestigious medical research publications in the world, authors Dr. Phillippe Grandjean, MD and Philip J. Landrigan, MD officially classified fluoride as a neurotoxin. This recognition is a huge step for the holistic healthcare industry, and also a major announcement that helps patients across the globe take initiative in their overall well-being.  Now that the dangers of fluoride are clear, you have the choice to remove this new neurotoxin from your everyday life. Whatever you decide consider these alternative solutions to limit added fluoride for the sake of your families health: 1. Purchase bottled water that says “fluoride ions:0.0 ppm” they have it on every label but it’s sometimes hard to find, make sure you take the time 2. Opt-out of bottled water and instead recycle some glass jars and purchase a water distiller for clean and toxin-free drinking water (distilled water leaches plastic into the water, always choose a glass or stainless steel option) 3. Collect fresh spring water, you can use google to find the closest one to you. I sometimes stop off at them when I am on road trips too, they are often in scenic areas 4. Always opt for a toothpaste without fluoride of your local grocery store or make your own. I also enjoy the benefits of oil pulling, essential oil and activated charcoal treatments. 5. Find a holistic dentist in your area that does not use fluoride, most towns have one now and please, Do NOT Get Fluoride Gel Treatments  I also want to add in that this journey is still on going for me, I still find fluoride hidden in the strangest places; gmo produce (particularly the dirty dozen), some tea brands, cereal and other processed foods, mechanically-deboned chicken, some table salts, teflon pans, and pharmaceuticals. Cutting these harmful compounds can be overwhelming and treacherous but taking your power back from industry and our conditioning is so empowering.
