      "body": "John Aldridge: Liverpool's stance on\nCoutinho must be strong\nJohn Aldridge\nAugust 10 2017 2:30 AM\nI'm pretty sure that Philippe Coutinho wants to\njoin Barcelona - but the Liverpool owners have to\nstand firm if they are to quell a simmering mood\nof unrest among the club's supporters.\nFor a South American player, the lure of playing\nfor Real Madrid or Barcelona is impossible to\nresist and we should not be surprised if he has\ntold Liverpool he wants to go.\nThe language, the weather and everything about\nBarcelona will appeal to a Brazilian footballer\nwho has probably spent his life dreaming about\nthis move and the Catalan negotiators trying to\nget the deal done know they have that pulling\npower on their side.\nBarcelona were always likely to go after\nCoutinho following Neymar's departure to Paris\nSaint-Germain and at the end of the day, the\nplayer will get his wish if he pushes hard enough\nfor the move.\nLiverpool would get in excess of £100m for their\nBrazilian playmaker in this crazy summer\ntransfer market and while that might look like\ngood business to the number crunchers at\nAnfield, there is a much bigger overall story to\nlook at here.\nI have met Coutinho a few times and he is a\ngreat lad, with a good family behind him. He has\nenjoyed his time in Liverpool and would\nprobably not want to leave for any other club.\nYet this is Barcelona. This is the chance to play\nwith Lionel Messi every week.
