The answer might sound too trivial to some people. But later I'm gonna explain how essential it is the filmography to our lives.\n\nNow to asnwer that question, we just need to take a loo at what's behind movies. There's a story filled with experiences that may relate to our lives. Naturally, not all stories are based or address to any social or cultural issues, but even the most ficticious one can teach us something.\n\nIn my previous post, I analyzed one of the last year's movies that provoked a lot of conversion because how strong it is. You can check it out here: <a href=\"https://steemit.com/life/@edave/learning-from-joker\">Learning from Joker</a>.\n\nIn there I spotted several things movie touches that makes us stop and think about our lives and our society. \n\n---\n---\n\n<center><h2>Not just entertainment </h2></center>\n\nSome people, course, watch movies for mere entertainment. That's their prerogative. But even in the mere enjoyment we can take a moment to figure out if the writer or director wants to convey a message.\n\nAnd if we look carefully we can extract something useful for enjoyable experience. How many times do we keeping about any movie we saw after some hours or even days? All of us have gone through this because movies without warning us can transmit feelings and provoke reactions in us.\n\nFor such a reason, films are not just mere entertainment. They are art expressions just like music and painting.\n\n---\n---\n\n<center><h2>Life's experiences </h2></center>\n\nAs I implied, movies portray part of society on screen. And this is a terrific opportunity to study the sociology and pshychological aspects.\n\nThe way people identify with certain harater in any film is just a connection that enables them feel what the character is going through and even relate to him or her. This film, which grossed over 1 billion worldwide, focuses primarily on the main villain in the batman comic history. It was a bold move by the film industry to bet on this take on the comic fashion considering how conservative they have become in trusting creative projects.\n\nThough this isn't entirely an original story it has certainly brushes that send this convoluted super-heroes flicks to new directions. First of all, the movie has a great cast and a competent director and writer. But what mostly attracts our attention are the themes they tap on. \n\nThese people took one of the most iconic character and made us see the world through his eyes, which depicts the similar world we live in. They embraced realism and put us into the shoes of the main character. There's no denying  how powerful the journey is once we finish watching the movie.\n\nWe feel for the character though it's a criminal. And this is a great achievement from the filmmaker and his crew. At the end we can't help but going over and over about the things that the world is currently suffering. And that's the key of this input because there are several learning points to take into consideration.\n\n<center><h2>Violence</h2></center>\n\nThis is a movie full of violence. It's the first comic book movie rated R. There have been a lot of talk about the possible consequences that can provoke in our society. This appreciation always emerges when a movie like this is made.\n\nBut we need to be very honest and see the world how it really is. Violence manifests as a part of our day-to-day living. I'm not saying that it gotta be the normal status quo. But due to the stage of perception right now, violence is inherent to our own nature.\n\nTo eradicate violence we need to evolve as species. It will be impossible to eliminate violence as long as we remain like the same human beings we are now. So, when a movie like Joker is labelled as a stimulus to trigger violence, we are just minimizing our own problems and bringing something up to demonize it and stain it with our faults. \n\nThus, Joker is a violent movie because we live in a violent world. And we can take this movie as  a study of our nature. The process can be long but we can someday take the first steps to our next phase of evolution so to speak.\n\n<center><h2>Lack of Empathy</h2></center>\n\nWe can witness everyday how many people around us don't put themselves in other people's shoes. They don't even feel how it is like to be the other person. This is highly brought up throughout the film. No wonder how this movie can be too much for some people because it touches a nerve.\n\nNormally we go thinking that our business is what only matters. There might be certain valid points in here if we consider how our decisions affect our life, but there are external and unexpected factors that can hurt us in some way that we are in need for comprehension from others. \n\nHow many times have we had a problem that escapes from our control? And instead of understanding  and help, some people just put more weight on the problem and even sanitize others for any eventual outcome. This is one of the recurrent issues we face as species. The little comprehension and narrow observation from what is happening to people around us just make us part of the problem.\n\n<center><h2>Indifference </h2></center>\n\nWhether we like it or not, we live inside a society. We can go deep into a forest and live like a hermit, but we don't fully separate from society. So whatever happens in any society, it will somehow affect everyone.\n\nSo humans normally go through life unaware or purposely unaware of the problems that are in order for the day. And even though I stand for the motto \"live and let live,\" the way we passionless regard things that are not right is extremely annoying. This may originate from the fast modern times, but there must be a pause that drives us to think for a moment what we can do to make the world a little more righteous. \n\n<center><h2>Hypocrisy</h2></center>\n\nIn the movie the usual dominant and double characters that always resemble reality show up. These are the types that want the world to believe they do really care, but they don't. They are part of the system created by the same sort of people that fail on us, and specially on the less fortunate ones.\n\nIt is ironic to see when these figures try to convince normal citizens to obtain their support in order to put them on powerful places only to betray people later on the road. Painfully, people just give their support while thinking that these powerful men will stand true to their words. But that dream always collapses slowly, and people realize that they have just been cheated.\n\nThis is the kind of hypocrisy we see over and over. It has become so common that we regard it as normal without thinking that this is contributing to the fall of society because it creates cracks where violence leaks in. Most will say wisdom. But is that what really people think? Or is it just another episode when we mask our true thinking and speak out something totally different?\n\nWhatever answers may be, all lies on one aspect only. And that's <b>EXPERIENCE!</b>\n\nElders no matter the wrong and the right decisions they have made in life, they have went through a life of deceptions and moments of happiness. Some of them can share their experiences with glee while others do it with regret. And when we listen to them, we can't help but judge according to our own perception of life. then we compare their moments to ours and come up with a conclusion.\n\nBut what we often forget is that it's not a question of  measuring the type of value any old person have provided. Some people tend to believe that they are not useful anymore. Even if we indulge ourselves into certifying a value point here, we end up thinking that old age are just the final stage, which is merely compose of waiting.\n\nAnd what kind of waiting?\n\nThe inevitable fact of dying. \n\nI always consider that life isn't worth it if we just spend our last days of earth sitting down watching the time goes bye. There are excuses that many elders bring up to spend those days in a seemingly eternal static mode. Many of them have to do with health. They are driven to believe that since they are old, they can fall in some illness which in fact we all can fall into any illness at any given time and at any given age.  But they retreat themselves into a self-constructed cave where they renounce to practically everything.\n\nSociety contribute to this too. We often see how commercials or campaigns - though they are noble - run everywhere. unfortunately,  they lack of a more valuable message. Society have to induce the correct idea, letting them know that they can still be productive for themselves and for others.\n\n![separator 3.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmS3rS7KSHcRZsh5w4rQRA3oy5er1dMnswYH8e3ssouMWp/separator%203.png)\n\n<center><h2>Health</h2></center>\n\nIn addition, elders have to toss away old concepts and taboo that just strike fear in their hearts. By the excuse of wellness, they are led to think that immobility is the best option to maintain a good health. What they don't know is that instead of maintaining  a good physical condition, they are actually calling out diseases.\n\nEven if they get lucky, their bodies need to be more functional than ever because at that age muscles and bones become fragile and the joints get stiffen. And the worst thing to do is retire permanently from living.\n\nAlso, at the critical moment of facing death, we should not give in so lightly.
