      "body": "Marijuana; It's considered to be the largest cash crop in the United States. It is enjoying a growth rate of 77% from 2013 to 2014 and an estimated 700% growth rate by 2018, it's bigger than corn, bigger than cotton, and bigger than wheat. \n\nAccording to UN data, the marijuana market is valued at about $142 billion. To put that in perspective, the global coffee market — one of the most valuable commodities on the planet — is valued at about $80 billion per year.\n\nAs marijuana approaches full legalisation across Canada and the USA, the pundits like Casey, Wall Street, WealthDaily and Private Investor groups are encouraging the average person on the street to invest in marijuana stock and shares. We are told we are in for the ride of a life time, with projected profits running into 9000% and above - way above the first marijuana explosion a few years ago![marijuana01.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmTX7JZiKtsHtWh3Pg7wH8qZ9tFpvdGx1fzb7NUJbxZWEs/marijuana01.jpg).\n\nInvesting in marijuana stocks seems practically stuffy in comparison with buying bitcoin and crypto currencies. But at least with some marijuana stocks, your investment buys part of a business that is growing, both plants and sales, and isn't at serious risk of losing half of its value overnight.\n\nWhich marijuana stocks are the best on the market? In my view, Canopy Growth (NASDAQOTH:TWMJF), MedReleaf (NASDAQOTH:MEDFF), and Aurora Cannabis (NASDAQOTH:ACBFF) look like the best marijuana stocks to buy in 2018.\n\nOther companies who supply goods and services are the ones to invest in - NOT the growers as agriculture comes will all sorts of issues that may wipe out an entire crop.\n\nLook at Marijuana Packaging, and subsidary of AA, Cannpack, GW Pharmaceuticals(GWPH), Pure Agro Hydroponics, and GrowX. Aurora (ACBFF) also has competitors, so you might want to hedge your bets and back these companies to - Canopy Growth TSX:WEED) and Aptia (TSX:APH)\n\nQuite frankly, I expect most Canadian and US marijuana stocks to surge in 2018. That includes Aphria, even though the company is scrambling to leave the U.S. medical-marijuana market under threat of potential delisting from the Toronto Stock Exchange.\n\nWhat about marijuana-focused biotech stocks? I think GW Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:GWPH) could have a big year as well. My bet is that the company's cannabidiol product, Epidiolex, wins FDA approval in 2018. I also think Insys Pharmaceuticals could enjoy a nice rebound next year. But the prospects in Canada are simply too great for either of these biotechs to take a spot in the top three marijuana stocks for next year.\n\nThere are risks for the stocks mentioned, of course. Should Canada's efforts to legalize recreational marijuana be delayed or derailed, it's a totally different ballgame. Investors could also begin to be wary of some of these stocks' valuations. \n\nHowever, I think Canada and the USA will move along as planned with its legalization efforts. And if the premium prices for Canopy Growth, MedReleaf, and Aurora Cannabis haven't scared away investors yet, I don't see it happening in 2018. Should the Canadian marijuana market explode like some think it will, some of these marijuana stocks' current prices might even be viewed as bargains at some point.\n\nOne company I am backing has its own cryptocoin in the market place - KushCoin(KUSH). Kush is the leading bespoke packaging company in the US. They are based in Denver, Colarado. And they are tipped as one of the biggest growth companies for 2018 and beyond as the market for marijuana powers away. It is a speculative investment, but lets see if the link to Kush Packaging sees this crypto coin climb rapidly with the stock and shares of the main company.\n\nOther marijuana coins\n\nA cannabis-specific cryptocurrency known as $Weed was recently purchased (http://nnw.fm/M9vYG) by SinglePoint from First Bitcoin Capital Corp (BITCF) and will also be incorporated into SinglePoint's cryptocurrency solution, enabling marijuana dispensaries and customers to complete transactions using either bitcoin or $Weed. A recent initial coin offering (ICO) for $Weed resulted in an impressive yet illiquid market cap of nearly $60 million.\n\nThe new bitcoin exchange being pioneered by SinglePoint (OTC: SING) aims to provide cannabis merchants with a means of processing debit and credit card transactions independent of banks and the FDIC (http://nnw.fm/Ln5ot). This will not only allow marijuana businesses to begin conducting non-cash transactions (cash currently being the only option for most), but it will also allow customers to purchase cannabis products with their debit and credit cards, just as they would purchase any other type of merchandise at any other type of store.\n\nSinglePoint is developing an in-house solution that would allow cannabis consumers to obtain bitcoin at any point of sale and instantly make bitcoin-powered purchases using their debit and credit cards. Users will be able to sign up prior to visiting a vendor or sign up quickly right at the point of sale.       "body": "Hi, my tag name is Jules63, or in real life Julian. I am from the UK, and moved to Cape Town with my previous partner some 20 years ago. I qualified as a dentist 40 years ago, then went into part-time research, and with my friend and mentor and other team members, we introduced the concept of using ozone into dental healthcare, so for some patients, a simple 20-30 second treatment would halt and reverse the effects of decay. My research lead to the formation of a couple of companies, GreyCellSales.com and AsanteSales.com. I also build web sites, and since my 'retirement' I buy and sell cryptocurrencies.\nI have had a colourful life I think! I started at Sheffield University reading Geography and joined a US company called Armstrong Cork. I was sent to deep, cold, dark Scotland and made a lot of money in meeting my targets and bonuses. I then moved to North UK, and did the same in the north-east market area. I hooked up with Clive who I have now known for over 45 years and we exchanged information (and cases or wine as our prizes) until head office figured what we were doing. I had an open expense account and we maxed it on visiting every good food outlet in the North.\nBut my feet were restless, I married  a fellow medical student, and we called Sheffield home. I went back to Medical School to read Dentistry. During those years we found Jen had breast cancer, and she sadly died soon after I qualified. I left the UK for a dental post in Gibraltar, when the practice and me made a lot of money. Our patients were mainly spanish who crossed the boarder as a village, did their duty-free shopping, and then sat in my chair. We were coining it as payment was all cash, and each week I would be in my bank negotiating a better exchange rate!\nI remarried an english doctor, and as she was pregnant with our first child, we decided it was best to return to the UK. It was a great move for Kate, and she joined a lovely practice with a bunch of people who were honest and all great friends. I sadly joined a dental practice where the two older partners were only interested in maintaining the status quo, and who did not want to progress the practice. We soon fell out, and after a few moves, I open my own practice in Thames Valley in a 2-story converted office building. It flew, and soon we were in the top 10 of practices with a new technology called the Internet, and new patients came from around the globe. My team and me had a lot of fun, and we created smiles with implants, tooth whitening, ozone and lots of cutting-edge technologies.\nI was invited to join a research team at Queens Belfast, and gradually my time out travelling, lecturing, running courses left me with reduced time to see patients. So I sold the practice, got divorced and moved home all in the same year - NOT the way to do it if you want to remain sane! My partner and I came to South Africa to have a Christmas away, and we wound up buying a home, and invested in a small rental property. Two years later, we decided to sell our UK home, and move here permanently.\nWhen Heather died it shook me to my core as I expected to grow old with her. But sadly that was not meant to be, and I stayed. I met Ingrid, my current partner a few years after her death, and we bought and renovated an old property we call home, with our two children, two Jack Russell's.\nRecently my health took a nose dive, and I now have a pacemaker to keep me alive, and I am on the heart transplant list at our famous Christian Bernard Hospital in Cape Town. Seems my guardian angles are not ready to let me go just yet! I run a couple of health care companies here, and I 'discovered' crypto currencies last year. I started to research them, and sat on the fence. Once I dived in, it is a 'job' I love and could do 24/7. I like making money, and I red an research a lot before a trade in a new coin or ICO. It is a fast moving market, but such great opportunities to make a retirement fund grown. I was recommended Steem Power, Steem Dollars and joined Steem. It is such a cool site a group of people to interact with. So here I am, wishing I was 30 years younger, and having the time of my life.
