| body | Perhaps many of you have heard of the Free State Project or even the FSP West initiatives. I've been thinking about this for some time but New Hampshire isn't the lowest populous state. Why did the founders ignore Wyoming? 60,000 settlers in New Hampshire = 4.5% of the population (This figure is 3 times the current count) 60,000 settlers in Wyoming = 12% of the population What the Free State project lacks in practicality, they make up for it in principle. I love it in principle, and the concept of a free state is absolutely worth considering! In practicality, what is needed is a driving force to compel large swaths of ancaps and libertarians to migrate for a real chance at achieving stated goals. Hope sells, but prudence wins. If there is even any shot at a free state, there needs to be some sort of incentive. If you think about this pragmatically, it makes more sense to establish these settlements in Wyoming and edge our way up from there. Why do I say this? The population of Wyoming is slightly over half a million people with one city having nearly a 5th of that. A Libertarian/AnCap take-over would only need to draw from 20% of those in the Liberty movement that voted Libertarian in 2016 to be successful. (3MillionVoted) So if 1 out of 5 that voted on principle knowing they had no chance of winning (sorry you know it's true), decided to follow in the tradition of the Oregon Trail, head to this unassuming Midwestern state... Logistics: 250 Farms producing 1 million lbs of food each per year using advanced urban growing methods, including vertical farming. 750 acres of land for agriculture $340K + $660K for structures and tech 1.8 Billion for 2 Antminers per citizen (UBI of sorts) 30 Billion Total once you factor in the 3D printed houses for all 600,000 people including solar arrays and ample battery capacity 30,000,000,000 / 600,000 = $50,000 So how about this for an incentive? For $50,000 you get a prefab 3D printed housing structure (shell), 200 KWH of battery storage capacity, a 10,000 Watt solar array, 2 Antminers and access to unlimited access to fresh produce and locally sourced food from the state of the art agricultural facilities. What does this mean? You still have to come out of pocket for some incidentals associated with building a house. You only get the shell. You take full responsibility for completing the structure. Plumbing, electrical, and other finishings are your responsibility. But other than those things, the idea is to have all the basics covered in a sustainable way. Most people would love to be homeowners, let alone live in a high tech, green, free state with a built in income of .14 BTC per month. How's that for incentive to move to a "free state"? So whom among you have $50,000 for a life free of the electric monopoly, a modest but modern tiny house you can call your own, a small amount of bitcoin per month to cover other incidentals and give you the freedom to pursue your interests and passions while having the clout and political capital to make a difference pushing liberty forward... So that's where the Free State Project fell short. Incentive. Economic migrants usually are looking for a few things when they are considering a move but I sincerely believe that if they saw what the distributed cost of feeding 600,000 people indefinitely, providing them infinite free electricity and a monthly bitcoin stipend; that they would at least be tempted. For the uninitiated, it might interest you to know how I derived at my conclusion about some of these stats. For $3000 US Dollars, you could purchase enough hashpower to yield .14 bitcoin monthly. $3000 x 600,000 = 1.8 Billion dollars for that cost. 1.2 Billion to buy land, purchase state of the art tech, build the agricultural facilities. 27 Billion for 600,000 3D printed housing shells, solar arrays, batteries. That's the distribution and 2/3 of that cost is in ensuring bountiful electric capacity in case anyone buys electric vehicles later. Seriously. $50,000 That sounds like too small a sum but it is not. $50K might buy you a house somewhere in a run down neighborhood but you are still a slave. $50,000 would buy financial freedom if somehow 600,000 Libertarians got together collectively and bought it. Finishing a shell could run you up to 20K more and you can find electric vehicles from $8500 used to $35 new in the mass market price ranges. For $100,000 you could have the technoAnarchist dream. Electric mobility with infinite source of clean energy. Your own land/house smaller but with no compromises. Communal high tech farming to meet your dietary needs. With no expenses other than Internet, your cell phone and insurance what would you do? 'Merica! A few last minute considerations. Wyoming has no state income tax and the lowest property tax. On your investment, expect to pay less than $400 per year in property tax per year. Keep your income. 50K would buy you a shit ton of freedom if you leverage it with 599,999 others. If you enjoyed my op ed, please upvote, share, donate! Who knows, we could actually make this happen. If you want to discuss how we can tap into that 20% feel free to contact me. But other than those things, the idea is to have all the basics covered in a sustainable way. \n\nMost people would love to be homeowners, let alone live in a high tech, green, free state with a built in income of .14 BTC per month.\n\nHow's that for incentive to move to a \"free state\"?\n\nSo whom among you have $50,000 for a life free of the electric monopoly, a modest but modern tiny house you can call your own, a small amount of bitcoin per month to cover other \nincidentals and give you the freedom to pursue your interests and passions while having the clout and political capital to make a difference pushing liberty forward...\n\nSo that's where the Free State Project fell short. Incentive.\n\nEconomic migrants usually are looking for a few things when they are considering a move but I sincerely believe that if they saw what the distributed cost of feeding 600,000 people indefinitely, providing them infinite free electricity and a monthly bitcoin stipend; that they would at least be tempted.\n\nFor the uninitiated, it might interest you to know how I derived at my conclusion about some of these stats.\n\nFor $3000 US Dollars, you could purchase enough hashpower to yield .14 bitcoin monthly.\n$3000 x 600,000 = 1.8 Billion dollars for that cost.\n\n1.2 Billion to buy land, purchase state of the art tech, build the agricultural facilities.\n\n27 Billion for 600,000 3D printed housing shells, solar arrays, batteries.\n\nThat's the distribution and 2/3 of that cost is in ensuring bountiful electric capacity in case anyone buys electric vehicles later.\n\nSeriously. $50,000\n\nThat sounds like too small a sum but it is not. $50K might buy you a house somewhere in a run down neighborhood but you are still a slave.\n\n$50,000 would buy financial freedom if somehow 600,000 Libertarians got together collectively and bought it.\n\nFinishing a shell could run you up to 20K more and you can find electric vehicles from $8500 used to $35 new in the mass market price ranges.\n\nFor $100,000 you could have the technoAnarchist dream.\n\nElectric mobility with infinite source of clean energy.\nYour own land/house smaller but with no compromises.\nCommunal high tech farming to meet your dietary needs.\n\nWith no expenses other than Internet, your cell phone and insurance what would you do?\n'Merica!\n\nA few last minute considerations.\n\nWyoming has no state income tax and the lowest property tax.\nOn your investment, expect to pay less than $400 per year in property tax per year. Keep your income.\n\n50K would buy you a shit ton of freedom if you leverage it with 599,999 others.\n\nIf you enjoyed my op ed, please upvote, share, donate! Who knows, we could actually make this happen. If you want to discuss how we can\ntap into that 20% feel free to contact me. \n\nBTC: 1BdX1YMxtTa9fyppKjhM8MzAUPurDdswGL\n\nThe image was sourced from USGS (Public Domain)",

| body | After careful scrutiny, I'd say so. The only stumbling block the individual had was what to do with the energy produced. Solar had the drawback(s) of not producing under cloud cover as well as at night. With that no longer a factor, it's become tenable. I do cringe when I see so much investment in lithium production when graphene batteries are superior and will prove to be everything lithium ion tried to be but couldn't quite accomplish. |

But what if that was all about to change? Our addiction to Oil won't be remedied overnight. But a new dawn is coming and you should embrace it. While we aren't the largest consumers of electricity, we safely have the world beat in gasoline consumption at 143 Billion gallons in 2016. But what will happen to gasoline prices when we are using 40 Billion gallons less due to the emergent electric vehicles market? 4,686,537,600 MW.H/YR puts the USA in 2nd place for electricity, but for how long will we be second place? In 2016 38% of the 2 million cumulative sales for electric vehicles were made. Clearly that shows a major spike in demand for electric vehicles, therefore those vehicles will need electricity. Given that electric vehicles are now making mass market price points and the competition is heating up, it's important to note that our electric grid is already burdened and may not support the added load. We are used to 99% up time in most of the country. That could potentially change if individuals don't empower them selves by adding solar power to their homes and unplugging from the grid. It is my opinion, the utility companies are not adequately prepared to handle the spike in demand. I should also note that I am perfectly OK with that. I believe that utility companies will increase costs to cover additional capacity. I'm OK with that too! Why? Because producing your own electricity as of 2017 is more viable than grid power. Sure, it spells trouble for the government sanctioned monopolies, but it also signals the beginning of a new renaissance in innovation and technological advancement once we adapt. I've been an energy broker for several years now and I know my demographics. Here in Ohio, the average family can expect to pay more for electricity over the course of 40 years, than their mortgage. Mind not blown yet? We have some of the cheaper rates in the country at $0.06 per KWH. I won't begin to speculate when the tipping point will be, but once people realize that producing their own power is the less expensive option, that growth will be explosive. Once we can live without paying for electrons, we can begin to move around (electric vehicles) and free up both household electricity and transportation expenses simultaneously. Gasoline supply will begin to outstrip demand exponentially as the new market emerges for electric vehicles. What should you expect? Gasoline prices will naturally drop. The allure of cheap gasoline is a facade, don't be fooled. It's simply a reaction to more supply than actual demand. That's a good sign. It would mean we are weaning our selves off our addiction to oil. |

donnnypublished a new post: introduction
2017/10/06 04:33:45
| author | donnny |
| body | Hi, I'm Donny. It is extremely exciting to be participating in this grand experiment. To be frank, I'm also rather eager to earn some money, status and credibility and I promise after this post not too much of the self aggrandizing. My aim here on the Steemit platform is to eek out a living and lift myself out of my meager existence. It seemed to me that an aspiring author could preemptively build a fan base here, before releasing their work. So that's my angle. There seems to be no shortage of anarchist engaging in what I call anarcho futurism without them even realizing it. My work is to that end. Anarchista musings from a futurist's perspective. I shall endeavor to attempt to make sense of the confluence of technologies and how they will relate in a world of self governance. If you've ever wondered what that might look like but had a hard time visualizing it, I encourage you to follow me. What really compelled me to give Steemit a try was that the platform is predicated on merit! The biggest challenges ahead are likely to be financial. I am typing from a freebie computer that was given to me and let me just state that it has seen better days. Physically, this thing looks like it shouldn't function. The keyboard part is slightly bent up on both ends. The metal casing that goes around the edges is also slightly mangled, warped and protruding. But hey, it WORKS! Utility is something that should be important. I have divested from most possessions that don't offer me utility. Minimalism starts with realizing the distinction between what you need and what you want. It took me years to reconcile having lost most of my belongings in a storage auction. What I eventually determined was that all of it was meaningless. I had to learn to let go. You can too. After finding myself back in Columbus, Ohio I had decided that I would broker energy in a deregulated market. I had been doing one form of door to door sales or another for many years and the allure of simply getting a customer to sign a year contract for a service they were already using was too strong to resist. But the independence was what really appealed to me. No one telling me how many sales I should get, no hand holding, no sales meetings and the only drawback if you can call it that was no salary. The very notion of working without a salary is repugnant to most. I recall back when I was a sales manager asking my staff how many would still be in the room if the job had no base pay in an effort remind them to pull their quotas. Working without guaranteed pay is scary but satisfying from my perspective. The key is effort. You get exactly what you put into it. This formula is precisely why I fell into energy sales and why I felt drawn to Steemit. Independent energy sales gives me the freedom and flexibility for more than one income stream. If I had a nine to fiver, the opportunity to try other means of earning money diminishes. I honestly feel that finding this platform at this time was serendipity though. Get paid to publish content without going through the arduous task of soliciting publishers, haggling over terms of payment or any of the intricacies associated with traditional publishing in the past. How could I turn away from that? I love being right in the midst of emergent tech. My participation was all but guaranteed once I discovered this platform and I will easily adapt and thrive here if given the chance to. I suppose that part is really up to you. You should probably follow me. My thoughts are often fragmented but they are not divergent. I consider myself to be fairly magnanimous and a part time polemicist, so good luck rattling me trolls! If you are a troll, I encourage you to try. You should probably still follow me. Thanks for reading. |

"body": "Hi, I'm Donny.\n\n\n\nIt is extremely exciting to be participating in this grand experiment. To be frank, I'm also rather eager to earn some money, status and credibility and I promise after this post not too much of the self aggrandizing. \n\nMy aim here on the Steemit platform is to eek out a living and lift myself out of my meager existence. It seemed to me that an aspiring author could preemptively build a fan base here, before releasing their work. So that's my angle.\n\nThere seems to be no shortage of anarchist engaging in what I call anarcho futurism without them even realizing it. My work is to that end. Anarchista musings from a futurist's perspective. \n\nI shall endeavor to attempt to make sense of the confluence of technologies and how they will relate in a world of self governance. \n\nIf you've ever wondered what that might look like but had a hard time visualizing it, I encourage you to follow me.\n\nWhat really compelled me to give Steemit a try was that the platform is predicated on merit! \n\nThe biggest challenges ahead are likely to be financial. \n\nI am typing from a freebie computer that was given to me and let me just state that it has seen better days. Physically, this thing looks like it shouldn't function. The keyboard part is slightly bent up on both ends. The metal casing that goes around the edges is also slightly mangled, warped and protruding. But hey, it WORKS! \n\nUtility is something that should be important. \n\nI have divested from most possessions that don't offer me utility. Minimalism starts with realizing the distinction between what you need and what you want. It took me years to reconcile having lost most of my belongings in a storage auction. What I eventually determined was that all of it was meaningless. I had to learn to let go. You can too.\n\nAfter finding myself back in Columbus, Ohio I had decided that I would broker energy in a deregulated market. \n\nThe very notion of working without a salary is repugnant to most. I recall back when I was a sales manager asking my staff how many would still be in the room if the job had no base pay in an effort remind them to pull their quotas.
