The kid, Ricky Gutierrez, uses stock trading to make tons of money. I decided to visit <a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtlAFoYl2aWb6pMiHCctQHA\">Ricky's YouTube channel</a> and saw he has over 300,000 subscribers teaching people how to read stock charts and things like that.\n\n<iframe src=\"https://www.youtube.com/embed/DZwPsYu8_1I\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"></iframe>\n\nThrough further investigation, I found Ricky's \"<a href=\"https://learn-plan-profit.teachable.com/?affcode=140060_cp-hgjw1\">Learn Plan Profit</a>\" course. After a bit more thought, I decided to purchase it to learn the ins and outs of day trading and swing trading. I had checked out reviews for proof that it works, and I figured if a 23-year old could make $11,000 a day through trading, I should be able to achieve similar feats. I also decided that even if I didn't end up day trading every day, I could learn the strategies and gain new knowledge regardless. I have been enthusiastic about learning these days and have created a goal for 2018 to be a year of learning and mastery. So any new knowledge around personal finance and other areas I care about is a good investment for me.\n<h1>Ricky Gutierrez's Learn Plan Profit Course Review</h1>\nI actually completed the 7 hours worth of course material a few months back, and I was quite happy with what I took away from it all. My past knowledge of stocks wasn't much though. When I graduated college, I did play with the stock market while at my first full-time job. I managed to make $3k from just Google searching stocks and buying when there were articles released about an upgraded buy rating on certain picks. Somehow that strategy worked on a small scale, without me having any knowledge of the stock market. Currently, I invest in a few index funds my mom recommended and I have a few tech stocks that are supposedly good long term plays. I also purchased a bunch of cryptos just to make sure I'm diversifying a bit. Obviously I didn't have that much knowledge in the stock market!\n\n![Screen Shot 2018-09-20 at 11.49.30 AM.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmeXqcr2eL1oA6DRCinbGbrFrM64Mccd7nvmdEwbJwohUv/Screen%20Shot%202018-09-20%20at%2011.49.30%20AM.png)\n\n<h2>Things You'll Learn</h2>\nThe 7 hours of video in Learn Plan Profit were worth the price as I familiarized myself with a lot of foundational concepts as well as specific techniques that Ricky implements for his trades.\n\nRicky uses TD Ameritrade Thinkorswim and gives away his settings he uses for the charts he views within the software. I learned how to read charts to discover which stocks are the best ideas and when is the right time to buy. Mainly, he uses the VWAP, EMA, and SMA lines and the MACD and RSI indicators to understand the best stock picks and if they're a good time to buy in. Even though these are known charts, it is especially helpful to get the settings he reveals to format these charts.\n\nYou also learn a lot about concepts of support and resistance, the difference between swing trading and day trading, bull flag and bear flag patterns, the psychology of momentum, the mentality behind how to purchase stocks, and more. It matches my style so that I don't ever have to feel like I'm investing a whole lot outside my comfort zone.\n\nWith Learn Plan Profit, I had the goal of merely understanding what people talk about when they discuss the stock market, and I've definitely succeeded in that aspect. I'm quite the beginner, to be honest. So ultimately, if you already have a lot of knowledge in the stock market, you'll want to do further investigating to see just how much you will learn on top of what you'll already know.\n<h2>The Discord Group</h2>\nOne of the most valuable parts of Learn Plan Profit is the ability to login their Discord channel (which is kind of like Slack), to be able to group chat and receive Ricky's announcements. Ricky's dedication to the group is impressive and invaluable. The fact that he will go on the channel and livestream his trades as well as answer questions is amazing.\n\nHere is a break down of how Ricky organizes the Discord sections he moderates:\n\n<strong>Announcements Channel:</strong>\n<ul>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where Ricky posts group updates</li>\n</ul>\n<strong>Question &amp; Answers Channel:</strong>\n<ul>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Monday-Friday) Q&amp;A Sessions- YouTube Livestream Posted in the #announcement channel</li>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Daily Q&amp;A (30mins) @ Market Open</li>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6:30AM PST</li>\n</ul>\n<strong>Trade Ideas:</strong>\n<ul>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where Ricky posts his trade ideas &amp; weekly watchlist</li>\n</ul>\nThere are a few other channels that people can type their own thoughts and questions under, but the ones listed above are where Ricky puts out his announcements. I normally scan the Discord chat and start growing my watchlist based on what everyone says.\n<h1>My Final Thoughts</h1>\nHonestly the biggest reasons I bought this course were twofold: 1. I merely wanted to gain more knowledge in the stock market and perhaps the ins and outs of day trading, and 2. I was afraid Ricky would charge a recurring monthly fee to be a part of his Discord channel in the future. I have no idea why Ricky doesn't charge a monthly fee for his Discord group as he's actively running it and maintaining it. This part of his business is super active and not passive, which means he could totally charge monthly fees for it. At the same time, I understand his active maintenance and participation in the group not only keeps the course sticky and makes people advocate it, it also can be new material/content for his YouTube channel and probably Instagram or other social media means. I'm sure he incorporates all his material one way or another.\n<h2>Have I Tried Trading Yet?</h2>\nI did day trade for a period of time. I'm only up a small amount so far using Ricky's methods - and my predictions so far were actually correct based on how the charts worked. The issue was all my funds were tied up and I ended up being unable to sell some of my positions cause I had bought too many stocks to day trade. This made me stop for a while. Now that I've sold a few more positions in my longer term stock investments, I'm going to try getting back into day trading. I find stocks mainly move the most around 6-8 AM, so this would require me to wake up extremely early to participate. I'm going to need to find time to do this, but overall I've already found that the learnings from the course seem to be, for the most part, correct.\n\nI found I learned a lot from the course, and now I feel I have all the materials to be successful when it comes to day trading and swing trading. I'd also like to mention that the Discord group chat always gives me really good ideas for stocks to look out for and what people are saying about it. This all helps for building your watchlist and getting advice on how people are reading their charts, which in turn shows you if you're on the right track or not.\n<h2>Would I Buy this Course?</h2>\nI definitely think Learn Plan Profit is worth the $299 price as I think this course is the best bang for your buck. It seems a bit steep, but the value is pretty great. You'll receive a lot of knowledge especially if you're a new trader, and you'll get all the tools you need to start day trading and swing trading. I see courses like these going for thousands of dollars. And even in those courses you're not going to get that online access to real-time group chats with dedicated traders including Ricky himself. All of Learn Plan Profit's content and community is accessible for life after that one-time purchase.       "body": "The other day, I was thinking about how if something like an apocalypse happened and the survivors had the same level of intelligence and knowledge I had, we basically would not be able to advance technologically for a long, long time. It was kind of hilarious but depressing to think about. I have no idea how people make computers, phones, the internet, etc. and honestly I probably would not know how to make something simpler like a battery or a light bulb.\n\nAnd when I thought about it further, I realized not only could I not advance society, I wouldn't even be able to really fulfill basic needs. For example, if I were stranded on an island, I would barely know how to start a fire, collect water, build shelter, and gather/hunt for food. Maybe it's just me but I find it a bit worrisome that many of my skills, like online marketing and music production, require the use of the computer and internet.\n\nI was at a beach one day lounging out. And in the corner of my eye, I saw and smelled a bit of smoke coming from some wood. I went and checked it out and saw that the wood seemed like it was burning a bit. So my friend and I decided to try and get it going into a real fire. We looked online to see instructions on how to start a fire, and after a few steps we were actually able to do it!\n\n<img class=\" wp-image-6529 aligncenter\" src=\"http://mewanttravel.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/41684530_2200558146856355_7695093622055632896_n-632x843.jpg\" alt=\"starting a fire\" width=\"452\" height=\"652\" />\n\nThough there was already smoke going on from burning coals, it did make me a bit more confident that I could figure it out if I were trapped on a deserted island. Because of this I wanted to make a post to cover the steps on how to start a fire (which would in turn make sure I engrain the knowledge for any future purpose).\n\n&nbsp;\n<h1>How to Start a Fire</h1>\nWe ended up watching this video to get information:\n\n<iframe src=\"https://www.youtube.com/embed/l8C8qPoMZdo\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"></iframe>\n<h2>1. Pick a Spot</h2>\nSay you're at a beach. Pick a spot that isn't too windy, and dig a hole to make a little pit for the fire. You could try digging a 1-2 feet deep pit with raised edges as to block the wind.\n<h2>2. Stabilize the Larger Piece of Wood</strong></h2>\nYou can sit on the back of the larger piece of wood or wedge the wood under something heavy so that it doesn't move when you're creating friction with the smaller stick of wood.\n<h2>7. Create Friction Between the Short Stick and Large Stick</h2>\nTake the shorter stick and push it back and forth on the groove track.\n<h2>8. Get the Ember Burning</h2>\nOnce it starts burning and you get a few coals, you can place it on some tinder. Loosely place some tinder over the coals so the wind doesn't blow it out, and it continues to smolder.\n<h2>9. Wave the Tinder Bundle Around</h2>\nYou can blow on the tinder bundle and wave it around to get some air flow and create that flame!\n<h2>10.       "body": "<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\"Replace your judgments with empathy, upgrade your complaining to gratitude, and trade in your fear for love.\" - Hal Elrod</em></p>\nI hung out with my friend the other day, who's such a positive person to be around. He's a dreamer and introspective person, so we'll constantly bounce back and forth on ideas, random things we want to do/pursue, aspects of ourselves we want to improve on, etc. We'll also challenge ourselves in different ways as we're obsessed with personal development. Occasionally I might bring up situations in which I feel I'm overthinking or trying to let go of something, or someone had upset me. After talking it out - which is already half the battle, I heard his personal way of approaching situations of ruminating and coming across people with negative energy. His solution was quite simple. Essentially he says \"when a situation arises and I'm taking too much time to think about it without any benefit, I just don't, cause why expend that extra energy?\"\n\nI'm sure we've all heard that piece of advice in some form or another. But I have been engraining this idea more. Watching him take strides in improving his weaknesses and seeing the positivity he radiates motivates me to be better. I come out of our hangouts extremely positive, inspired, and motivated.\n\nThis kind of made me think - how can I make sure I'm this same force for everyone in my lives? How can I elevate myself as well as elevate others?\n\nAfter reading some books and talking to people with positive vibes versus people with negative vibes, I've put together a list of things I think make people a more positive force in life.\n<h1>How to Be Positive in Life</h1>\n<h2>1. We Don't Deserve Anything</h2>\nSometimes bad shit happens to the best of people, and sometimes good shit happens to the worst of people. It's such a crappy thing to realize cause of its unfairness. When thinking of how some of us are born into more disadvantaged families while others are born with privilege, we can come to realize that we don't deserve anything - not a job, a family, a house, or happiness. But by fully engraining this fact into our minds, we can start being grateful of what we DO have and be a more positive force in life.\n<h2>2. Take Responsibility. Be Wary of Yourself and Your Weaknesses</h2>\nI've met cynical folks who tend to blame external conditions and don't understand why they turn people off. Though I talked a lot about being yourself in my last post, I think it is important to continually improve your weaknesses. <strong>The outward success you attract depends on the amount of personal development you've already done.</strong> Positive people are more aware of who they are and how their actions affect others, and they understand we're all responsible for our lives, feelings, thoughts, etc. If your external situations are constantly negative and your mindset is always \"why does this always happen to me\", it's time to look inward and ask if you might be producing negative vibes to the world or if you're not taking responsibility. Be aware if you're hating or complaining a lot, raining on people's parades, and talking too much without listening. Understand what you're putting forth to the world and work on improving yourself continually.\n<h2>3. Surround Yourself with Positive People</h2>\nI'm a big believer in surrounding yourself with the right people. We've all heard that quote saying you're the <a href=\"http://digitalnomadquest.com/productivity-hack-average-5-people-rule/\">average of the 5 people you hang out with</a>. Along the same lines as tip #2, do you notice the friends you hang out with are cynical, constantly complaining, negatively rambling about their lives, and strongly pushing their viewpoints without an open mind? (And are you yourself doing the same?) It's time to take a hard look at not only yourself but also the people you surround yourself with cause their energy becomes your energy. To amend this you can have an honest chat with people in your circle, and/or work towards surrounding yourself with others who you respect and can improve you. And these people aren't just going to come to you naturally - you're going to have to break out of your comfort zone to make new friendships. One way is going on <a href=\"http://meetup.com\">Meetup.com</a> to meet new people who share similar interests. This is actually how I met my friend who I described earlier. Positivity comes more naturally when you're around positive people.\n<h2>4. In Even the Worst of Situations, Send Love to Yourself and Others</h2>\nAs humans, we tend to focus on the negative. Our brains are just wired more sensitively to negative news. If we won $50 through a scratchcard and later got $50 stolen from us, we give more emphasis on the loss than the gain, and negative events tend to linger in our brains longer than the positive ones.\n\nIf we want to be more positive in life, we're going to have to be conscious of when we're focusing on the negative, cause it's just such a natural human tendency. Sometimes focusing on the negative just happens subconsciously without us realizing it.\n\nIn unpleasant situations where you may have regretted something you said, or you were met with a challenging person, it's important to not let unfavorable emotions consume you. And instead of saying \"no\" to those emotions, I challenge you to accept the situation and feelings, and then take responsibility and turn it around by sending positive vibes instead.  The other day, I encountered someone who was unnecessarily raining on my parade. I let myself get caught up in the negative energy, but the next day I recapped and realized I had to take responsibility of my emotions and thoughts (back to tip #2). And I actually asked \"what if, in my head, I sent him love and happiness? What if instead of lingering on the bad, I decided to feel empathy and realize he probably needs love more than others?\" And that's what I did, and suddenly I calmed down and my glass became half full instead of half empty. Same thing happened today - a car cut me off while driving in a situation he/she wasn't supposed to. I was a bit upset initially but I decided to wish them some love instead.\n\nAnd while you're wishing love to others, you've got to love yourself too. Be compassionate and forgiving when you feel guilt or had made a mistake. There comes a point in which beating yourself up just doesn't do any good. Just learn from the past and move forward. I'm not saying to allow and let yourself stay in every bad situation. You've got to express self love and know when to extract yourself from an unpleasant environment.\n<h2>5. Remove Attention on \"Gap Focus\" and Get Excited About Your Goals</h2>\nI learned this concept from <a href=\"https://amzn.to/2vJKDlV\">The Miracle Morning</a> - the idea of \"gap focus\". Gap focus is the focus on the gap between your current self and your ideal self. \"High achievers\" tend to constantly focus on the gap which tends to make them not feel good enough and forget to appreciate their accomplishments. Not saying I am a high achiever, but I am quite guilty of focusing on that gap. The good part is that it creates motivation, but at the same time it can make you feel crappy about yourself. Be aware of when you're caught in this negative habit and forget to appreciate the present. Rather than see how far your potential and dreams are from your current self, appreciate the process and get excited about your goals. Focus on the positive rather than the negative! Practice that self love with enjoying each moment.\n<h2>6. Journal</h2>\nJournaling is in relation to tip #5. Writing about your day and talking through your thoughts gives you an outlet to express yourself and recap about your days. In turn, this will allow for more reflection on your progress and appreciation for your growth, and this will help with removing the excessive attention to gap focus.\n<h2>7. Make Sure Your Intentions are Positive &amp; Actions are Honorable</h2>\nI think it's important to always ask why you're doing what you're doing or why you're thinking and feeling what you are. For example, it's great to work hard, but it's not so great to work hard with a pure drive for \"vengeance\". I try to steer away from the whole \"the best revenge is success\" type of mentality. Cause if you're truly a positive and enlightened force, you're not going driven by external factors or trying to make others feel bad with your success. Your success should be for your own self, to fulfill your personal purpose and dreams.\n<h2>8. Be Present and Grateful</h2>\nMy friend mentioned the other day about how he smelled a peach, just appreciating the wonderful smells of the world and how amazing it is to be alive. It reminded me to be more present with the now. So yesterday, while I was showering, I forced myself to feel the water splash on my skin so I could enjoy and appreciate my existence and the fact that I am able to feel things. Positive people practice gratitude and presence to appreciate the beauty of life.\n<h1>Conclusion</h1>\nWhen letting go of hate and judgment and replacing these feelings with love and empathy, you're able to remove things that weigh you down and see life in a different light. The more you're aware of this, the more you'll be able to stay happy without needing too much.       "body": "I stayed in Seoul, Korea in October 2016, and I started learning a bit more about what it would be like to live the \"local\" life. Though it was a bit difficult to get around because there weren't many English speakers, I received insight from asking my music friend many questions about life in Korea and was silently observing people as I walked around. (You can check out the <a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYVNUkX_Yp0\">music video we filmed in Korea here</a>). This friend is from Greece and has stayed in Korea for about 9 years now. He told me he's seen the good AND the bad and felt a bit jaded living there. Since I was only there for a month, it was hard for me to judge what Korea is like, but here were some of my thoughts and my first impressions of Seoul, Korea.\n<h1>My First Impressions of Seoul, Korea</h1>\n<h2>People Love to Follow Trends</h2>\nI noticed while walking around, people LOVED to follow the latest trends. Girls would put on the same white-colored foundation and red lipstick, and boys sported the same bowl cut hairstyle. Of course these trends change constantly (well, maybe not the pale skin hype), but people like to make sure they look their best when they leave the door!\n<h2>Not Many Speak English</h2>\nIf I didn't have friends in Seoul, I would have been completely lost. I was surprised to find that not many people spoke English in Korea. Young females were more likely to speak English (this was confirmed by my friend as apparently, young females are more interested in leaving Korea to explore the world) but for the most part, I could barely communicate with anyone. This made it especially hard to order food and get around.\n\n<img class=\" wp-image-6452 aligncenter\" src=\"http://mewanttravel.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/14713520_10207456871193471_3844274194497300902_n-632x475.jpg\" alt=\"friends seoul korea\" width=\"593\" height=\"446\" />\n<h2>Google Maps Doesn't Work Well</h2>\nMaybe it's improved in two years time, but back in 2016 I essentially couldn't navigate on Google Maps cause Maps didn't seem to work well in Korea. But regardless, I was able to blow up my Maps screen and see where my blue dot was going to sort of get around.\n<h2>Food Can Be Extremely Affordable</h2>\nI learned from my friend that in Korea, there are restaurants made specifically for 1 person. At those restaurants, I was able to eat meals for an average of $3-8. It was pretty affordable! Street food was around $1-3.\n<h2>Ordering Food for 1 Person is Difficult</h2>\nSo even though there are restaurants made for 1 person, my friend told me that a lot of restaurants require at least 2 or more people as they will only offer sets for specific party sizes.
