Others will still try to take advantage and slack off, ultimately they don't last long and end up loosing their jobs. Also depending on the industry, paying well and having a good work environment, can lead to your staff frequenting their place of work on their days off and bringing their friends along to spend money also. Talk to peer groups A company with a good culture will often have candidates talk to the employee who previously had the role they’re being interviewed for, says Gimbel. “If they can’t show you somebody who’s grown out of the role and is still with the company in a different capacity or vertical, then they’re hiding something,” he says. “Meeting with a peer provides a perspective about upward mobility.” You can also contact peer employees on LinkedIn before an interview, adds Patel. “Say, ‘I’m thinking about applying for a job there. What do you love about your job?'” he suggests. “You’d be surprised how much they’ll share.” 4. But get this—when that same 10% was invested in employees, productivity went up 8.5%. Many managers assume once an employee is receiving a salary they should be loyal. Little do they realize pay is just a satisfier. It is not a motivator. It all comes down to how you treat people. Employees want to be treated like human beings. They have feelings, emotions and personal lives. When an organization treats its employee like an object, they feel disrespected. When, on the other hand, an organization appreciates it employees, shows empathy and is flexible, this will make them think twice about leaving. Loyalty is a two-way street.
