\n\nThis coin has been fuelled by passionate developers.  It was released June 17th, 2013 by a group of developers named ‘Skyangel’.  Joseph Fiscella is the lead developer of FLO and has been involved since the genesis. \n\nThe coin was fairly launched without an ICO nor a pre-mine.  ie) No smash and grab by founders.  FLO is a community-driven, decentralized, open-source initiative. \n\nFLO is a Nakamoto consensus cryptocurrency allowing anyone to append metadata to the blockchain. FLO coins are needed to pay for storage, and participants are awarded FLO in exchange for their work securing and distributing information.  FLO is often used to build blockchain applications because anyone has the ability to write data into FLO quickly and read it easily.  Many decentralized applications have been built on FLO because of the reliability of the proof-of-work network in combination with the permissionless read and write data field called floData. The main use of FLO is the floData, where it allows you store 1024 bytes per tx. BCH only allows 256.. so FLOW is x 4 factor ahead.\n\nFLO is a public record for building decentralized applications that introduces a new feature called floData. This metadata layer allows reading and writing to the blockchain quickly and easily, encouraging unique apps and tools to be built with FLO\n\nFLO is a script mineable crypto-currency with quick transaction processing. It is based on Bitcoin (+Litecoin) source code, with improvements in several areas.\n\n\n\nThe Numbers:\n\nThe current price is around 6.9 cents.  The ATH was around 37 cents.   The main exchange FLO is traded on is Bittrex.  \n\nFLO has a current market capitilization of US$10.4 million  and is currently ranked 230 on coinmarketcap.com  This leaves substantial head room; in terms of market cap and rankings growth. \n\nDaily volume is also steadily growing.  
\nFLO coin has max supply of 160,000,000 FLO and 149,445,286 FLO already in circulation already.

\n\n\n\nFrom the Co-Founder of FLO:\n\nI chatted to one of the founding developers in FLO, Joseph Fiscella. When asked what were the main drivers to keep him passionate and motivated to stay involved with FLO he said: \n\n“What keeps me interested is the fact that there isn’t anything like FLO that exists out there. It’s a cryptocurrency with a single purpose: metadata. As an engineer, I much prefer using a tool that’s meant for the job, rather than a Swiss Army knife that can do various things but not meant for or particularly good at any one of them”. 

\n\nWhen asked how important ‘Alexandria’ was to the success of FLO Joseph highlighted, \n\n“Alexandria as a company is important for FLO in that their product OIP is an organizational tool for metadata on the blockchain. You can think of OIP as the google search index for FLO, and you can think of Alexandria as the front end for searching that index. Everything there is decentralized and open source too. Something like OIP is necessary for building most apps on FLO. TZERO is one exception where they can throw metadata in the chain without OIP or even any strict formatting and it works, but not every app is like that, and most would make good use of OIP to function”. 

\n\n\nOn the privacy front Joseph said, \n\n“FLO can be used in any application that needs metadata stored in a neutral public space. To expand on that a bit: the FLO blockchain has several unique properties: \n\n1. it allows data storage in a permissionless manner\n2. Everything on the blockchain is always available to be read \n3. The security of the network is through proof-of-work, arguably the most neutral security model possible”. 


\n\n\n\nCould FLO be…another AntShares (NEO)?\n\nAn excellent comparison to the potential explosion of FLO - LavaFLO -  is AntShares (now NEO). AntShares launched in late 2016.  For most of 2017, AntShares had a marketcap between 5 to 6 million dollars. When AntShares was finally discovered, it rebranded to NEO, it rose ~170,000% in one year from its low to the ATH. \n

\n\nWe are in a bear market and FLO has recently been defying the odds.  From my research, I've deduced that there is potential of an imminent volcanic eruption.  Things may FLO is a big way. In my humble opinion the technical charts support such warning signs and it is a question of preparing oneself.       "body": "Deep down, most of us know that the majority of alts over the next few years are going to disappear faster than a rat down a drainpipe.  This to me is no different to the tech boom, where the best companies survived and thrived; the ones with no real use case died.\n\nThe most successful tokens, will be those that have a laser like focus.  No fluff.  ‘Proven’ teams.  And a concept that can go mainstream.  Add in a few more layers such as a grass root organic growth (no need for scammy ICO’s), and a mining system that avoids cartels. And lots of financial backing.\n\nThe days of 10x - 100x opportunities will be scarce compared to the orgasmic lunge periods of the past but they will still exist.  You will however need to do extensive research, invest tonnes of time and have a really clear plan. The tokens that have optimum opportunity to move exponentially, are not the high market cap ones but those languishing in the darkness in the cellar of Coinmaketcap.com  \n\nI have invested serious time researching a particular token that I believe ticks the boxes above.  In summary, I have pulled some quality information from numerous savvy sources and attempted to weave them into something that makes sense to the average Joe like me.  

Firstly, the obligatory disclosure:  I decided to take my own advice and invested in this token. This is not financial advice.  Now that’s out of the way, let’s get to the tofu in the sandwich.  \n\nThe coin is RVN- RavenCoin. One of the guys who helped put BTC on the map when he was the first major player to accept BTC as payment on his billion dollar platform.   \n\nPatrick via Overstock.com has pumped millions of dollars into RavenCoin.  He sees it as a token that solves a problem. Tokenising securities.

Ravencoin was designed, so you don’t need expensive mining equipment and thus make it available for almost anyone to mine.  Yes, you can mine RVN on your personal computer as it's ASIC resistant.  Anyone can download this software, and you don't have an advantage by having this big mining warehouse in China.  This alone may explain why Ravencoin has spread the fastest out of any new coin mined. \n\nUnique characteristics of Ravencoin\n\n* ASIC free – Uses an X16R hashing algorithm\n* No Premine – Genesis Block launched, opening mining started\n* Fair Launch – meaning, on day one, you like everyone else could have started\n* No rush to link up with an exchange\n* Individuals ask about price and do price checks, developers agnostic\n\nRavencoin has an extremely experienced team behind it and work constantly on the project.   Many Bitcoin developers behind it that have more experience than anyone when it comes to the blockchain.  Tron Black for example is a living legend in the crypto space and those who know the projects he has worked on, will know that if he invests his time behind something…there’s a reason.  \n\nThe concept is extremely simple - Tokenize/ digitalize the world’s assets - that means pretty much anything in the physical world (art, securities, property, etc.) and being able to monetize digital assets. Barring any unforeseen issues, technically this is the best token issuance and management platform.  Most experts concur that the security token market will dwarf the crypto market.\n\nIt’s important to remember that RVN will have tokenization as a native function - not just an added layer like ETH. Over a year was dedicated to development above and beyond the base code.  The base code was used for stability and to grow community. \nI firmly believe that Ravencoin will be the asset platform of choice for this space. Within a year, Gemini, and tZero will be utilizing the chain for the security token space.  A rather large space of….1.7 quadrillion dollars or more annually. 
\nNow for a coin with a current market cap of 41 million https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ravencoin/  and a price of just over 2cents, there is potential to Jupiter!
