We are here to with Mimic, an app for youth where they can copy each other's videos and photos or challenge each other. Meaning: We created a platform that is similar to some other more popular platform but our is using blockchain. What’s the problem here? The problem are users and a market.\n\n# The problem\n\nYou might ask me how users or a market is the problem when this is decentralized, people will just come and use this platform… Well maybe, but this is how I see it. Blockchain is decentralized but everything that happens, happens through this website or a service or a platform. Once it’s gone or if it fails, the whole system goes down with it.\n\n# Example #1\n\nLet’s take for example a freelancing platform or a social network platform. Let’s take „freelance“ platform as an example number 1. It will solve a many problems current freelancing platforms encounter or will fill up some holes, that’s for sure, but first they need to get some users. If Freelancer.com decides to introduce blockchain and crypto currency as the way of payment that’s gonna make some serious mark on smaller players. Freelancer.com is huge freelancing platform with thousands of active freelancers who trust this company and just want to find some work and they can do that. Don’t forget they are people who really understand internet and technology. If Freelancer.com introduces crypto currency and adjusts its business model, what’s the probability that users will migrate to another platform?\n\n# Example #2\n\nEven „worse“ case is social network. You really need to offer people something more than just a „decentralized“ social network where people can post, like, comment… What „decentralized“ really means? More privacy? Your data spread across the network and stored on other people’s computers?\n\nThe approach here is wrong. You can’t just introduce „new but old“ decentralized social network. By that I mean: social network that is exactly the same as any other but the only thing that is different is decentralization aspect. Would you leave Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook or some other network you use, where you friends and families are, which serves you just fine for another one that claims decentralization and currently is empty?\n\n# Mimic\n\nHere in Mimic we are being honest, Mimic is not decentralized app, it’s an ordinary app which merges two worlds into one, social and crypto world. We won’t do it in a way everyone else does it, we’ll step up a game a little bit.\nOn the one hand there’s a Mimic, ordinary split screen app for teenagers and college students that allows them to copy each other selfies, moves or any other fun activities, even encourages them to challenge people in copying their photos or videos (“let’s see who can do this better”). In this way we’ll attract young generation to join this fun app and hopefully make it viral.\n\nOn the other side we have our MimiCoins which we’ll introduce as our main currency used for in-app-purchases, advertising, gamification… So here we are with the app full of young people and now we’re introducing crypto world to them in a fun way. They won’t even feel „a pain“ of transferring to the crypto world.\nWhat do we as crypto veterans get? Well more users, bigger market, popularity, viralty…\n\nThat’s why we’re preparing for an ICO. In our case everyone wins, non-crypto community and especially crypto community. What makes platform/app/website great and big are their users. First you need to lure ordinary people to join your app/website or whatever and then gradually introduce crypto world to them. But what does it mean? Social networks are all around us and they are taking over the world. Almost all, if not all, social networks are just that, they don't want to dig into blockchain just yet. You wonder why?\n\nBlockchain is relatively new and not many people are blockchain developers or users, maybe 1% of Earth's population knows about and uses blockchain, maybe I'm wrong here. What I know for sure, if you want to get big, if you want to go viral you have to target wider audience, possibly teenagers and college students. Just take a look at TBH, Snapchat, Peach, YikYak, Vine... By targeting only people who are into blockchain you're limited here, at least for now.\n\n# We'll try something different\n\nMimic wants to try something different here. Mimic wants to introduce blockchain to wider audience, fuse blockchain and real social network. This is how  we're gonna do it:\n\n1. First step is already done. We created iOS app so we can work on soft launch, so we can test it, offer Mimic to our friends, families and people we know. Just to get better understanding and user's feedback.\n\n2. Execute an ICO and offer our coins there. This way we will spread the word around and prepare people for upcoming features. If you are an investor and you have younger brother, sister, daughter, son... they can also help you to spread the word around and create some value. **More users = more transactions = more value...** You get it, right.\n\n3. Release the app on the iOS in the USA only! USA is a gold mine of startup community and social network apps. We'll create exclusivity thus demand will increase. We'll target city by city, community by community, create awareness and get people used to the concept of Mimic.\n\n4. When we attract users and get some critical mass we'll gradually implement MimiCoins which will be used for in-app purchases, advertising, gamification... We'll do it in a fun way so we don't scare our users. They will embrace it easily because it's gonna feel natural to them. Basically they will be transferred to crypto world without almost them knowing.\nYou can't expect from people just to jump into blockchain just like that. After all this is a new way of handling money and transactions, somebody needs to get them used to crypto world and show them that it's not that strange and scary.\n\n5. When people get used to using our coins, we'll partner up with other smaller social networks and hopefully bigger ones in order to implement MimiCoins in their network.\n\n# This is how we do it...\n\nThis is how we're gonna fuse real world and crypto world. Introducing coins and crypto world to young adults will have a great impact to crypto world itself. Teenagers, college students and young adults are the ones who are not afraid to try new things.
