We are all moving to a new apartment in the same town, where I currently live.\nThis time it is an apartment meant for people with handicaps. I must admit that I have been leaning a lot on my brother's programming skills. But I have also relied upon the assembly tutorial created by Matt Heffernan aka.       "body": "Hi guys,\n\nMy brother and I have given each other the challenge of creating a fun and addictive game in one afternoon/evening of BDD (Beer Driven Development)\n\nThis will be my brothers and mine first attempt of collaborating together on the same project.\n\nThe game will be released for the Commander X16, a system I've previously mentioned on another post.\n\nSo we had to ask our selves what we thought would be possible to develop in one afternoon/evening of development?\n\nMy brother saw this game on kongregate.com called 10-bullets, which seemed like a doable task.\n\nThe game will be programmed in assembly language for the 65c02 chip, which the computer is using as it's CPU.\n\nHe and I have worked closely together helping each out on our individual projects. And since the opportunity arose, where he and I could be able to develop without intervening wives or children we thought that it could be fun to create a game together.\n\nMy brother is clearly more clever in the regards of writing in assembly, as he has previously programmed for the X86 and I have only dabbled a bit with assembly for the 6502 in the Commodore 64.\n\nIn the past I have developed tools in basic and just a tiny bit in C#.\n\nIn this game we will utilize the sprites that the system has to offer. Though it seems that there is a major update underway for the VERA chip (Graphics unit) in the Commander X16.\n\nWe have both cheated a bit and created some artwork for the game.\n\nI have created the spaceship, which looks a bit like this:\n\n![Spaceship-1.png.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmcEBmYoBz5zxKXv7DhXEsN3eiUrmaBgBJfLoS3qJUne5G/Spaceship-1.png.png)\n\nExcuse me for the small size but it is made as an 16x32 pixel.\n\nAnd we have both been trying our hands of making a splash screen for the game, which is to be shown on startup.\n\nHopefully if we do not have to dabble too much with the VERA updates then we will try to make some sounds for our game.\n\nHope you find this interesting.",

      "body": "The commander X16 is as many of you know. David Murray aka. The 8-bit guy's dream computer.\nHe wants to build a computer, that is made of off-the-shelves parts and is like, but not compatible with the commodore 64.\n\nThis project is very interesting. As it is meant as a learning tool for people who want to learn to program for computers.\nThe idea behind the project is that the computer should be simple enough for a single person to comprehend the entirety of the computer.\n\nAt the moment the computer is developed by Texelec (Boarddesign), Micheael Steil (Kernal development), Perifractic (Design and usermanual)\n\nThe Kernal is using the commodore basic which is being licensed by Cloanto but the specifications of the computer far supersedes the commodore 64.\n\nAt the moment the computer is being planned to have 40KB of \"Low Ram\" which is what is natively available for basic and then up to 2MB of \"High Ram\" which is banked in slots of 8KB.\n\nThe graphics output will be VGA and is run by the VERA module created by Frank Van Den Hoof. It has 128KB of dedicated memory.\n\nAt the moment the project is close to the first stage kickstarter, which will be a model of the computer which is very hackable. They hope to be able to launch the computer at a pricerange of 200-300 dollars.\n\nThey have released an emulator, so that people can start to create their own programs.\n\nI have created a tic-tac-toe game for the emulator, which can be found here\n\nhttps://github.com/Dansbo/tictactoe\n\nTo learn how to use sprites and such I have started to program a snakes and ladders game.\nAs it is a board and dice game it is really quite boring the gameplay.       "body": "I will use this blog to write down some of my thoughts and concerns regarding my game I will make for the old C64.\n\nIn the hayday of the C64 I owned a C64c along with my older brother.\nWe started with a datasette and a bunch of games, that we bought along with the computer. It had 2 or three joysticks as far as I remember.\n\nAhh that were the days. Eventhough it seemed to take forever to load the games. Just the anticipation of the game was enough. Those were the days, when you had to definetely decide which game you wanted to use your time on, as the mere loading times could easily be between 15-20 minutes.\n\nBut later we learned about turbo programmes. So that sped up the loading times immensely.\n\nWe later sold the computer for next to nothing, when we both moved on to new systems. My brother bought a 486 IBM compatible and I bought an AMIGA 1200.\n\nMany years later I was handed over a C64 by a friend of my parents, she had no idea what system it was. But it was only gathering dust in her attic, and she knew I was into computers, which was why I was offered the Commodore. I remember the joy I felt of finally being able to go back and play those loved games.\n\nBut alas there was a problem with the disk drive that she gave me. My older brother studied computer science and I thought he might be able to save the diskdrive for me.\n\nSo nothing happened for 20 years and I went from being a young teenager to the man I am today at the age of 36. I visited my brother a few months ago, and when I was going home he came out and handed the C64 over to me.\n\nOh how the world has changed since then. I did not know what state the diskdrive was in, since I no longer had any disks for it. But the C64 boots up.\n\nSo now I'm waiting for a SD2IEC to a arrive that I found on Ebay and a C64 to Scart cable.\nI bought a old 14\" TV set and found 2 Wico command controls to use with the system.\n\nI've taken the C64 apart and cleaned it up. And I'm planning to do a retrobright on the yellowed parts.\n\nBut I've been tinkering with the idea of making my own game for the system. I've watched videos by the 8-bit guy and thought to myself that it would be nice to make my own game.\n\nI need to learn to program assembler for the 6502, but hey the best way to learn is when you have a project on hand.\n\nMy thoughts are to use DASM on windows and then port to my C64. \n\nI haven't determined yet what the theme of the game will be or what type of game. But that will come later.\n\nMy todo list is as follows:\n\n1. Decide on game type\n2. Decide theme\n3. Learn to code and code the game\n4. Learning to compose music for the game\n5. Merging game with music and sound effects.\n6. Find trusty beta testers\n7. Decide if I want the game to be public domain or selling it\n\nI know this post became very long, but please feel free to share your thoughts on the project with me.",

      "body": "It has been a long time since I posted anything here.\n\nI've been at the hospital, where I was operated in the lower back for the fourth time.\n\nI've spent the last few months recouping and now I can start my rehabilitation training.\n\nI wished to start up the project of creating a danish YouTube channel, where I would create guides on how to \"mine\" for Gridcoin and other cryptocurrency related discussions. \n\nIn my mind people would find the first introduction on gridcoin. I hoped that the video would have many views after three months. But alas it has only been viewed 9 times.\n\nAs I am completely new in the field of creating videos, I thought that maybe you good people could help me with suggestions for new videos?\n\nAny suggestions would be greatly appreciated. \n\nKeep in mind that I would have the videos in Danish but I don't think that the actual language outweighs the topic...\n\nAs for my blog I can tell you that my computer managed to stake the first block just a few days ago. I received a little over 2 GRC in interest for the last five months.\n\nI have doubled my initial purchase of GRC and will soon reach the magical target of a thousand GRC and hope to stake blocks on a more regular basis.\n\nThe investment I made was not a very profitable one. My investment has dwindled into a little over a fith of its original value. I know that this mostly is caused by the drop of Bitcoin. It's a shame that our coin is so reliant of another currency!\n\nBut as mentioned earlier the reason for my initial investment was not solely to earn money, but to begin a journey into the world of sustainable cryotomining.\n\nI have read the discussions regarding constant block reward. I can understand the benefit of a more reliable blockchain, but I am also very nervous abaut the idea of diluting the Gridcoin even further. (You can read my earlier post about the subject)\n\nNow I am looking forward to producing more Gridcoin related material here and on my Danish  channel.\n\nCheers",
