      "body": "Mogo, the financial group in Canada, asked me, as a customer, to give them some feed back of their service.\n\nI’ve asked quite a few questions of them since I joined.\n\nIf you don’t know “Mogo” is a Canadian online financial service that offers credit checks,mortgages and opportunities for investors on all sorts of things, and now including Bitcoin.\n\nThe idea with Bitcoin is that you can buy and sell on their trading platform then conveniently withdraw to your back account, I believe within a day.\n\nSo ideally you would profit a thousand dollars with your Bitcoin investment and with draw it to enjoy as you see fit.\n\nI’ve been using it for a few weeks and I’ll give you the good, the bad, and the ugly as I see it.\n\nI love the premise, I have to admit, it’s what I want for my trading platform/exchange. Allow my clients to hedge on Bitcoin, buy and sell it, then have cash sent directly to their bank account whenever they want. With in an hour. If humanly possible.\n\nWith Mogo you can get up to $9 thousand a day with a withdrawal, where all exchanges I’ve seen take up to a week or more.\n\nThey only charge 1% I believe.\n\nWhich you will see is both good and bad.\n\nI don’t think you actually own Bitcoin, you can’t withdraw actual coin, you can only withdraw the money, which is great for this people who want to simply play that game of what price will Bitcoin be today.\n\nPeople with knowledge can do well.\n\nPeople who don’t know what they’re doing are going to lose a lot more than they gain trying to figure it out, likely.\n\nI’d like to say it’s as simple as buy low and sell high, but it is, but how low and how high?\n\nThe old saying ‘Bears make money, Bulls make money, and Pigs get slaughtered’ should be written somewhere close by.\n\nI’m not going to tell you what it means, you have to figure it out for yourself.\n\nOkay, I’ll tell you what it means. Don’t get greedy, the pig who tries to take to much on the highs and lows usually loses out.\n\nSo the frame work for Mogo is pretty good, for the most part, it’s a very basic app, and it’s really just a ledger as far as I can tell, which is awesome because no one can ever hack and steal Bitcoin you don’t actually have. And for the purposes of this trading site, it’s not important at all. You will never need to learn how to transfer Bitcoin onto or off of the site.\n\nNo technical skills necessary.\n\nMath skills however. A different story.\n\nWhich brings me to the 1% trading fee. 1% doesn’t sound like a lot, but it really fucking is. It’s huge when you’re trading. For a site like this they should be happy with .5% for their exchange trades, which is still high, and 1% for their withdrawal fees only.\n\nThey will still make plenty of money.\n\nAnd in this case the “Exchange” is the exact same terminology as “The House”.\n\nAnd the House always wins.\n\nFine, whatever, as long as you know.\n\nThe downside to this site/trading app, is that they don’t seem to know what buy limits, or sell limits are. The also don’t know what a stop loss is.\n\nThey could easily add these items to their site, and it will enhance it greatly for the user experience.\n\nI should warn you I can’t promise that those features will make you a better trader, but immensely convenient to have once you learn to use them properly.\n\nBuy limit button can work while you sleep and the prices drops to where you want to buy. There is no promise it will though. Same with sell limit order. It can sell your bitcoin while you’re at work, making things a lot easier for you.\n\nStop loss will sell your coin in case the price starts to drop to low.\n\nKnow these things well if you plan on trading.\n\nI hate that Mogo doesn’t offer these things and I have to wait until notifications tell me the prices I’m looking for. I get these from different apps.\n\nMogo uses Coinsquare as their trading reference. So the current prices on Coinsquare is basically what they’re playing off of.\n\nWhich brings me to my final complaint.\n\nThe Buy price and the Sell price, almost seem like a bait and switch with Mogo.\n\nThey front the best number and when you switch over to the actual trade that number has switched.\n\nYes, it’s not their fault, but, with the buy limits and sell limits it could be avoided. If you’re doing it all manually, and being dinged 1% per trade, which should be seen as 2% because you always have to re-enter, eventually, it all adds up.\n\nSo the most recent sell prices could be ‘X’, however when you go to buy the prices is now ‘Y’, and you don’t really get to see that until you half commit to the buy.\n\nYou can cancel if you don’t like the new price, by the way.\n\nAnd do it.\n\nTo sum up, the Mogo site has potential, they should take my suggestions. The only real benefit to Mogo vs say Coinsquare is the ease of which you can withdraw, which is near instant.\n\nA real trading platform is worth it, and Coinsquare will pay you in about a week, or so.
