Yes, I'm a gay man in his mid 30s living in NYC in 2018 - but - I've been, many times. It's roughly the same thing every year and I hate large crowds of intoxicated people. It messes with my Zen, man. That being said, I don't have a horse in the race when it comes to the demographics of Pride. Yes, it is an LGBT-centric event, but to see and hear about record numbers of heterosexuals attending sorta makes me feel nice and tingly. That means all those people are relatively OK with LGBT folks. Think about that for a second. Not only are they OK, they want to share space and celebrate with us. That's something you appreciate, not scorn. Does anyone remember the 90s when "Fag!" and "that's gay!" were catchphrases? How about the 70s and 80s were getting caught and ID'd could land you in a hospital or worse... we've come a bit as a culture when straight people can come out to Pride and enjoy it. Secondly, like who are all these queens of queerdom that can presume "that person appears heterosexual according to my superficial standards and thus does not belong here." Honey, you don't know that couple. You have no idea that he wears drag, and she's a paid Dom because they're in street clothes. Stop dictating who belongs "in the space." Didn't you just have a 37-reply thread on your wall about why we need to let the immigrants in? Don't see the contradiction there, do ye? I'll welcome anyone into the queer subculture with open arms as long as they aren't trying to associate the culture with violent, pathological behavior. That's where we should draw the line, because it isn't about how you identify or what you appear as. It's how you behave, or more specifically how you treat yourself and your fellow man. Straight people are also necessary allies, they make queer babies. If they're already OK with homosexuality, think of the generations of gay kids that won't be stigmatized. So please, appreciate the straights when they come out to Pride. Give them a high five. Loudly plot to kiss the handsome "straight" guy's cheek. Thank them for coming. Be comfortable knowing that all these people are comfortable with us. It's a good thing. |

| body | First off, great game. I really like the graphics, everything looks pretty. This article is primarily for devs, they asked for feedback at PAX East, so here is an extensive list from 3 days of beta testing. Gameplay notes: Collecting resources is cool but the shine/glaze on the collectibles should be a bit more distinct. It's hard to see them unless you know what you're looking for. Which can be okay if you want it to be more challenging. Specifically, the gripshroom is hella annoying to spot, but if that's your intention - well done. Boss fights - Apropos challenge difficulty. Perhaps Scale a bit more on the extremes. Tier 1 I fought 2 maybe 3 bosses before moving on. Tier 2 I farmed the shit out of and made myself 4 maxed weapons and 3 fully upgraded sets of armor. Tier 3 I skipped almost entirely and now I'm farming Tier 4. I think there needs to be some way to pace a bit better so that you spend equal time at each tier. Matchmaking seems to take a while if your solo depending on what tier you need, I've noticed that many folks seem to be skipped tier 3 entirely. Hit boxes could be tighter. Sometimes I get hit when I thought I dodged and others the boss will miss me somehow and I'm like "well I thought I was gonna get hit there." Also an in-game guide to the weaknesses of different bosses would be a cool bit of story, but it's unnecessary fluff since we already have internet access and google searches when we get stumped. Visuals: When folks drop into the zone, background folks look saggy/crouched. This makes me laugh every time. Your toon always shows up in front with your homies behind you, and they're all standing in horse-stance, wide legs, half-crouched. Interfaces look good. I'm presuming there's going to be polish on some of the ult-meters, the spear one looks unfinished as does the ax. Queuing up for a fight should give people an option to join the queue from town and not just pull them straight in. When you're in a party a little pop-up window could read: "(GroupLeader'sName) wants to queue for (Boss or patrol), are you ready to join?" Cells - recombine crappy ones for better ones, like combine 3 for 1 of the next level. Hotkey for instant muting game sounds and the ability to access the setting menu from any screen with a quick tap of escape. Extra help reviving should increase speed of revive, and the meter should glow or something indicating that extra help is being added. Contrast on Score screen after matches needs to be better, also clearly explain what things like a bastion is. I happened to know the meaning of the word, but most gamers are going to associate it with a certain robot from a major Triple AAA title. The other ratings are much more clear and specific. Rate your match 1-5 unclear. I've been assuming 5 is the highest rating. When you approach a billboard, the yellow highlight is visible through character models in town. The transition from town to boss-zone could be smoother. Perhaps a loading screen with some pretty splash art and a little loading meter on the bottom of the screen? Overall, I've been having a blast with the game and can't wait for further development. Anyone interested can catch me on Twitch.tv/TwitchyCyre |

| body | https://www.howtoacademy.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/12-Rules-For-Life-Jordan-Peterson-image-4a-Extra-Date-1560x880.jpg If you haven't heard of Jordan Peterson, you're probably pretty normal. He's what I'd call an intellectual rock star. Once a relatively obscure professor from the University of Toronto, he's also worked at Harvard as well as the UN and logged something like 30,000 hours working with patients as a clinical psychologist. After his new book, [12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos](https://www.amazon.com/12-Rules-Life-Antidote-Chaos/dp/0345816021/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1522105712&sr=8-1&keywords=twelve+rules+for+life), was released at the end of January, Peterson is already on his second book tour and most of the stops already sold out. How did this happen? Why are thousands of people lining up to watch and listen to some grey-haired middle-aged psychology professor from Canada talk on stage and tell them to stop being victims, to get their shit together, and to become responsible individuals? Peterson gained internet popularity—or infamy, depending on your level of education or indoctrination—in October of 2016 when he publicly decried the changes to the Ontario Human Rights Code (Bill C-16) that codified into law the necessity to refer to individuals by the name and personal pronouns of their choice by implying it would be a hate crime not to do so. For Peterson, it wasn't about the LGBT community at all, but rather that for the first time in Canada, the government was telling its citizenry what they must say. He often refers to such legislation as compelled speech. That was when most people who follow news on the internet started to hear about him. He made a splash because radical leftist types at his University created a controversy around him by protesting his appearances with white-noise machines and calling him a fascist. But every new protest brought him more attention, and while folks lauded him or hated him for his behavior, he has consistently gained in popularity. People came to see the controversy but stayed for his content—moving from watching the protests and interviews about the incidents to watching his many recorded class lectures on YouTube, thousands and thousands of individuals realized there was more to this man than simply refusing to use gender neutral pronouns in the name of free speech. There were powerful ideas here, and an important message that it seems many people really need to hear right now, either because no one has ever shared such wisdom, knowledge, and advice with them, or because deep down we know what he says makes sense—we may have even thought and felt similar things before—but we’ve been unable to articulate such lessons as eloquently. In the intervening year and a half, I have become a Jordan Peterson fanboy. If you want to understand why, spend a few hours listening to his series on the psychological analysis of the biblical stories. It's about a dozen podcasts, each roughly two hours in length. His use of Jungian and Freudian analysis and his knowledge of symbolism and mythology as a means to extract the psychological significance of the stories is nothing short of fascinating, much of which he’s working out himself in front of the audience as he goes. I was hooked, but then again, I'm a huge nerd for studying history, religion, and psychology. Peterson's analysis of the stories helps us grasp more of our current situation in our individual lives. He's a huge advocate for not throwing the baby out with the bathwater when it comes to Western culture, and that's made him a vocal opponent of [Marxist types](https://www.uhurusolidarity.org/about/) who want to 'smash the patriarchy' and start over in the woods eating vegan, or [something equally ridiculous](http://www.xplicitplayers.com/MartinezManifesto/index.html). He also has a masterful understanding of twentieth century history, and with it an awareness of where the Marxist doctrine goes. https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Klq8g6myQZ4/VPyx9xg_ZmI/AAAAAAAA554/US595QuJWVk/s1600/Smash_Patriarchy_Slut_Walk_2014_Chicago_Feminist.JPG I've digressed, a bit… Last night! Jordan Peterson came to Manhattan to speak at the Beacon Theatre and I was able to get two tickets early enough so I could treat my handsome and highly intellectual boyfriend to join me. He's also a fan (and helped to edit this article because he’s awesome—hi!). We got there a little early and waited in line for about fifteen minutes before the doors opened up. The crowd was mostly men, mostly young (20-35ish), but there were a lot of women there, too. The venue holds three thousand people and it was sold out. There was also a wide diversity of racial and ethnic groups. We saw Jewish folks wearing kippahs, people of Arab descent, folks with Asian ancestry, people of color, jock-bros drinking beer, and sophisticated elderly couples sipping wine. I got the impression that there was diversity of political opinion as well, but that would be overestimating my ESP abilities based on peoples’ demeanor and fashion choices, although I still believe that girl with the purple hair is more likely to vote liberal than conservative. What did he talk about? Well, he did a rough outline of his book. He has 12 Rules in the book that serve as guidelines to living a meaningful and honest life, but he only got through six in about an hour and a half. The first one is pretty smart, and it's what I'd call classic wisdom (or grandma wisdom). Rule 1.) Stand up straight with your shoulders back. It's an injunction to confidently present yourself to the world, even with all your flaws and vulnerabilities. Here he talked about hierarchy as a feature of the landscape, and not a consequence of any social constructs. To support this point, he mentioned the lobster, which he’s become famous for (spawning endless memes). Lobsters form hierarchies, and therefore they can't possibly be a social construct. Our evolutionary histories diverged about 300 million years ago, showing just how ancient hierarchies are. He also discussed research that demonstrated how lobsters responded to antidepressants that work on the Serotonin/Dopamine system, low social status within a group would result in a 'depressed' lobster (and there are ways to measure such things)—if you give him a little antidepressant he puffs back up like he just won a big fight and had his pick of the ladies. We see similar patterns in people, and you can consciously make your life better when you approach it with eager confidence. It grants you more possibility of social mobility within the hierarchy that you find yourself. Weaved into this was a discussion of inequality, and that although no one likes social inequality and too large of a wealth gap is clearly a bad thing, we haven’t figured out any societal and political system that can actually get rid of it. Peterson ponders whether or not abolishing it is even possible when it’s so ingrained in the structure of nature itself, warning us that it’s too complicated an issue to think we can naively solve by overturning our current economic system and replacing it with a different one (which has been tried and has always failed, often with fatal consequences). Rule 2.) Treat yourself like someone you are responsible for helping. He mentioned comparative study on people filling out and taking medication prescribed for them by a doctor, versus medication prescribed for their pet by a veterinarian. The data was curious: folks will almost always fill and administer medication to their pets, but much less likely will they fill, or complete, medication prescribed for themselves. There are a myriad of ways each of us could take better care of ourselves. Pick one and start small was his advice. The main point of this rule is that in caring for ourselves we are also more capable of caring for and helping others—after all, we aren’t much use to our pets anymore if we’re in poor health or dead. Rule 3.) Make friends with people who want the best for you. Another common-sense sort of rule, but how often do we meet folks who were in toxic relationships? Maybe they had a toxic boss, or a toxic romantic partner. Maybe it was a toxic parent, or 'friend'—the trick is to learn to identify folks in your life who genuinely want you to succeed versus those who resent your success or actively work to make you miserable, perhaps because your progress makes them feel inferior and bringing you down validates their own stupid choices, or perhaps because they’re just psychopaths who enjoy manipulating you and using you for their own ends. Learning to speak up for yourself in situations where someone is aggressive and oppressive is key here, and that's something he's worked on with people in his clinical practice. Rule 4.) Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today. This is something I used to do a lot, especially when I was feeling rather self-deprecating. He makes a good argument—there is no other you but you. Everyone is different and comes with a different set of unique circumstances. It's also impossible to know everything about anyone else. In order to do any sort of rational, realistic comparison, the only person you can compare yourself with is yourself if you want to gauge your progress. To this end he suggested small changes, little improvements that incrementally and exponentially accumulate into larger changes. Those little things add up over time and help you build your self image as well as your willpower. Rule 5.) Do not let your children do anything that makes you dislike them. The idea here is that you want your kids to be well-socialized. This opens up the world for them and makes them able to enter new situations and be well-liked by the folks they find there. He also mentions the crucial period between 2-4 years old where if you don't do the right things it's very hard, if not impossible, to correct. Discipline is important, but it's also necessary not to be too overbearing. If you watch Jordan talk about this rule, which he says he felt would be the most controversial chapter in the book, he gives a much better breakdown and analysis than I can in a paragraph. Rule 6.) Set your house in perfect order before you criticize the world. This is another bit of classical wisdom reflected in the saying, "Don't go throwing stones in a glass house." There's plenty for us to work on in our own lives, and if we collectively acknowledged that and set about working on those little things that we had control over, the world would improve over time as a natural consequence. He also mentioned the Columbine shooters and Carl Panzram, discussing how the suffering of the world can sometimes result in people who become so nihilistic and resentful of existence that they seek revenge on Being itself, concluding it would be better if nothing had ever existed at all. Peterson acknowledges that we've pulled a lot of folks out of poverty in the last decade or so. When he worked for the UN he was tasked with doing a study of those exact figures, how many folks were being pulled out of poverty and into lower or middle classes. The numbers were astounding. In 1895, most people lived on less than $1/day in today's dollars. Most people were seriously poor. In the twenty-first century, the UN hit its target for reducing poverty three years ahead of schedule. Every day more people are getting hooked up to the power grid, more are having access to clean water, and still more are getting access to the internet. The point is that despite how a lot of suffering still exists in the world, it’s important to be grateful for the very real improvements that have been made. He acknowledges plenty of problems, chief among them being inequality, but like hierarchies, it is a feature of the landscape that we haven’t figured out how to manipulate out of existence, if that’s even possible. The trick is to maintain balance such that there aren't too many idle folks getting desperate and angry. So what to do about inequality is something we need to discuss and address rather than rush into an ardent support or Communism and criticism of capitalism. Although Peterson supports equality of opportunity as something we should be striving toward as a society, he is certainly skeptical of anything under the political moniker of ‘equity’ (governmental and/or ideologically enforced equality of outcome) as it eventually requires or leads to violent revolution and simply doesn't work. The metaphor I like for equality of outcome is the Borg from Star Trek. They're a hive-mind race of cyborgs with a few queens. There is no individuality at all. They violently assimilate other lifeforms and their technology into their never-ending search for perfection. Perhaps an even better example is the satirical and dystopian science-fiction short story “Harrison Bergeron” by Kurt Vonnegut, in which a future America has passed three new Constitutional Amendments requiring all citizens to be fully equal. No one is allowed to be smarter, better-looking, more physically abled, or more skilled at anything than anyone else. This is enforced by the Handicapper General’s agents, who enforce the equality laws by making some citizens wear handicaps in order to level the societal playing field, because being smarter, more attractive, or better at something than anyone else is a form of oppression against them. Read it! The Q&A was also interesting, especially the last two questions, a video clip of which you can [find here] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZRA17ZTf7k). One woman asked a rather good question about when is it okay to protest. She mentioned how he was protested at Queens University, and how some students interrupted the beginning of his talk, infringing on the right of people there to hear him speak; the folks who protested around the nation for gun control; and about a kid who was shot in his grandmother's backyard and folks blocked traffic, interfering with the normal routine in order to draw attention to an issue, preventing people from getting to and from where they had to go. His response was that it's okay to protest as long as you're willing to take responsibility for your actions and the consequences and not when you aren’t. He called today's emphasis on activism a pathological hangover from the 1960s. Granted, it doesn’t appear that Peterson thinks the Civil Rights Movement is a giant mistake (which he’s been accused of by those who misunderstand his point here), which would obviously be ridiculous, but that because these methods worked at a time when it was crucially important to implement them that it has left a lasting impression that this is the only respectable and acceptable way to solve problems in our society, and that for professors to teach the youth such a notion is a huge mistake. The last question was on mass shootings and the gun control issue, the basic question was: what can we do about it? Peterson suggested that it wasn't a good idea to let the government have a monopoly on violent potential (his exact words were “I think it’s a mistake to set up a society where the only people who get to be dangerous are people who work for the government”) and the reason he thinks this is because he believes that would be more dangerous in the long run, not less. He analyzed the type of person that would do it, suggesting that these people are full of resentment, hate, and pathologically narcissistic. He further suggested that we need to have a discussion about why malevolent revenge is a bad idea, and that it would be a good idea to do it in the schools. The reason why it's wrong is that it makes a bad situation worse. He used the metaphor of getting into a fight with your loved ones at a funeral. This fits in with his overall philosophy of responsibility and focusing on yourself first before trying to correct the ills of the world. Overall, I enjoyed seeing him live. Peterson’s got a genuine vibe about him and it's something you can almost grasp watching him on stage. I really would have loved to have been able to meet him, if only for a hot minute. Why are thousands of people lining up to watch and listen to some grey-haired middle-aged psychology professor from Canada talk on stage and tell them to stop being victims, to get their shit together, and to become responsible individuals?\n\nPeterson gained internet popularity—or infamy, depending on your level of education or indoctrination—in October of 2016 when he publicly decried the changes to the Ontario Human Rights Code (Bill C-16) that codified into law the necessity to refer to individuals by the name and personal pronouns of their choice by implying it would be a hate crime not to do so. For Peterson, it wasn't about the LGBT community at all, but rather that for the first time in Canada, the government was telling its citizenry what they must say. He often refers to such legislation as compelled speech.\n\nThat was when most people who follow news on the internet started to hear about him. There were powerful ideas here, and an important message that it seems many people really need to hear right now, either because no one has ever shared such wisdom, knowledge, and advice with them, or because deep down we know what he says makes sense—we may have even thought and felt similar things before—but we’ve been unable to articulate such lessons as eloquently.\n\nIn the intervening year and a half, I have become a Jordan Peterson fanboy. I was hooked, but then again, I'm a huge nerd for studying history, religion, and psychology.\n\nPeterson's analysis of the stories helps us grasp more of our current situation in our individual lives. He also has a masterful understanding of twentieth century history, and with it an awareness of where the Marxist doctrine goes.\n\nhttps://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Klq8g6myQZ4/VPyx9xg_ZmI/AAAAAAAA554/US595QuJWVk/s1600/Smash_Patriarchy_Slut_Walk_2014_Chicago_Feminist.JPG\n\nI've digressed, a bit…\n\nLast night! \n\n\n\nThe crowd was mostly men, mostly young (20-35ish), but there were a lot of women there, too. I got the impression that there was diversity of political opinion as well, but that would be overestimating my ESP abilities based on peoples’ demeanor and fashion choices, although I still believe that girl with the purple hair is more likely to vote liberal than conservative.\n\nWhat did he talk about? Well, he did a rough outline of his book. He has 12 Rules in the book that serve as guidelines to living a meaningful and honest life, but he only got through six in about an hour and a half. The first one is pretty smart, and it's what I'd call classic wisdom (or grandma wisdom).\n\nRule 1.) Stand up straight with your shoulders back. It grants you more possibility of social mobility within the hierarchy that you find yourself.\n\nWeaved into this was a discussion of inequality, and that although no one likes social inequality and too large of a wealth gap is clearly a bad thing, we haven’t figured out any societal and political system that can actually get rid of it. Peterson ponders whether or not abolishing it is even possible when it’s so ingrained in the structure of nature itself, warning us that it’s too complicated an issue to think we can naively solve by overturning our current economic system and replacing it with a different one (which has been tried and has always failed, often with fatal consequences).\n\n\nRule 2.) Treat yourself like someone you are responsible for helping. The main point of this rule is that in caring for ourselves we are also more capable of caring for and helping others—after all, we aren’t much use to our pets anymore if we’re in poor health or dead.\n\nRule 3.) Make friends with people who want the best for you. Learning to speak up for yourself in situations where someone is aggressive and oppressive is key here, and that's something he's worked on with people in his clinical practice.\n\nRule 4.) Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today. Those little things add up over time and help you build your self image as well as your willpower.\n\nRule 5.) Do not let your children do anything that makes you dislike them. If you watch Jordan talk about this rule, which he says he felt would be the most controversial chapter in the book, he gives a much better breakdown and analysis than I can in a paragraph.\n\n\nRule 6.) Set your house in perfect order before you criticize the world. This is another bit of classical wisdom reflected in the saying, \"Don't go throwing stones in a glass house.\" There's plenty for us to work on in our own lives, and if we collectively acknowledged that and set about working on those little things that we had control over, the world would improve over time as a natural consequence. He also mentioned the Columbine shooters and Carl Panzram, discussing how the suffering of the world can sometimes result in people who become so nihilistic and resentful of existence that they seek revenge on Being itself, concluding it would be better if nothing had ever existed at all.\n\nPeterson acknowledges that we've pulled a lot of folks out of poverty in the last decade or so. The point is that despite how a lot of suffering still exists in the world, it’s important to be grateful for the very real improvements that have been made.\n\nHe acknowledges plenty of problems, chief among them being inequality, but like hierarchies, it is a feature of the landscape that we haven’t figured out how to manipulate out of existence, if that’s even possible. The trick is to maintain balance such that there aren't too many idle folks getting desperate and angry. So what to do about inequality is something we need to discuss and address rather than rush into an ardent support or Communism and criticism of capitalism. Although Peterson supports equality of opportunity as something we should be striving toward as a society, he is certainly skeptical of anything under the political moniker of ‘equity’ (governmental and/or ideologically enforced equality of outcome) as it eventually requires or leads to violent revolution and simply doesn't work.\n\nThe metaphor I like for equality of outcome is the Borg from Star Trek. Read it!\n\nThe Q&A was also interesting, especially the last two questions, a video clip of which you can [find here] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZRA17ZTf7k). Granted, it doesn’t appear that Peterson thinks the Civil Rights Movement is a giant mistake (which he’s been accused of by those who misunderstand his point here), which would obviously be ridiculous, but that because these methods worked at a time when it was crucially important to implement them that it has left a lasting impression that this is the only respectable and acceptable way to solve problems in our society, and that for professors to teach the youth such a notion is a huge mistake.\n\n\nThe last question was on mass shootings and the gun control issue, the basic question was: what can we do about it? He used the metaphor of getting into a fight with your loved ones at a funeral.\n\nThis fits in with his overall philosophy of responsibility and focusing on yourself first before trying to correct the ills of the world. Overall, I enjoyed seeing him live. Peterson’s got a genuine vibe about him and it's something you can almost grasp watching him on stage. I really would have loved to have been able to meet him, if only for a hot minute. I can hardly wait to see what he gets up to next. If you haven’t read the book yet (and you want the other six rules) then get yourself a copy and do so.",

| body | https://www.howtoacademy.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/12-Rules-For-Life-Jordan-Peterson-image-4a-Extra-Date-1560x880.jpg If you haven't heard of Jordan Peterson, you're probably pretty normal. He's what I'd call an intellectual rock star, a relatively obscure professor from University of Toronto, he's worked at Harvard as well as the UN. He's logged something like 30,000 hours working with patients as a clinical psychologist. His new book is out, [12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos](https://www.amazon.com/12-Rules-Life-Antidote-Chaos/dp/0345816021/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1522105712&sr=8-1&keywords=twelve+rules+for+life), and most of the stops along his tour are already sold out. He gained internet popularity, or infamy, depending on your level of education, or indoctrination, in October of 2016 when he publicly decried the changes to the Ontario Human Rights Code (Bill C-16) that codified into law the necessity to refer to individuals by the name and personal pronouns of their choice. For Peterson, it wasn't about the LGBT community, but rather that for the first time in Canada, the government was telling its citizenry what they must say. That was when most people who follow news on the internet started to hear about him. He made a splash because radical leftist types at his University created a controversy around him by protesting his appearances with white-noise machines and calling him a fascist. Every new protest brought him more attention, and while folks lauded him or hated him for his behavior, he has consistently gained in popularity. In the intervening year and a half, I have become a Jordan Peterson Fanboy. If you want to understand why, spend some a few hours listening to his biblical series. It's about a dozen podcasts, each roughly 2 hours in length. His use of Jungian and Freudian analysis as a means to extract the psychological significance of the stories is nothing short of fascinating. I was hooked, but then again, I'm a huge nerd for history, religion, and psychology. I was also raised Catholic, did an about-face into Atheism for many years when the whole 'I'm gay' thing happened around puberty, and then took too much LSD in my Junior year of College and had a fascinating escapade through the cosmos in which the materialist approach became evidently silly, if not outright offensive. Now there's a lot more going on than we can see under normal conditions, and Peterson's analysis of the stories helps us grasp more of our current situation. He's a huge advocate for not-throwing the baby out with the bathwater when it comes to Western culture, and that's made him a vocal opponent of Marxist types who want to 'smash the patriarchy' and start over in the woods eating vegan or something equally ridiculous. He also has a masterful understanding of 20th century history, and with it an awareness of where the Marxist doctrine goes. I've digressed, a bit... Last night! Jordan Peterson came to NYC to the Beacon Theatre and I was able to get two tickets early enough so I could treat my ridiculously attractive and intellectual BF to join me. He's also a fan. We got there a little early and waited in line for about 15 minutes before the doors opened up. The crowd was mostly men, mostly youngish (20-35ish), but there were a lot of women there. The venue held ~3,000 and it was sold out. There was also a ridiculous diversity of racial and ethnic groups. We saw Jewish folks wearing kippah's, folks with Asian ancestry, people of color, jock-bros drinking beer, and sophisticate elderly couples drinking wine. I got the impression that there was diversity of political opinion, but that would be overestimating my ESP abilities based on people's demeanor and fashion choices. I still believe that girl with the purple hair is more likely to vote liberal than conservative however. What did he talk about? Well, he did a rough outline of his book. He has 12 rules, he got through six in about an hour and a half. The first one is pretty smart, and it's what I'd call classic wisdom. Rule 1.) Stand up straight with you shoulders back. It's an injunction to confidently present yourself to the world, even with all your flaws and vulnerabilities. Here he talked about hierarchy as a feature of the landscape, and not a consequence of any social constructs. To support this point, he mentioned the lobster. Our evolutionary histories diverged ~300 million years ago. Lobsters form hierarchies, and therefore they can't possibly be a social construct. He also discussed research that demonstrated how lobsters responded to antidepressants that work on the Serotonin/Dopamine system, low social status within a group would result in a 'depressed' lobster (and there are ways to measure such things) but if you give him a little antidepressant he puffs back up like he just won a big fight and had his pick of the ladies. We see similar patterns in people, and you can consciously make your life better when you approach it with eager confidence. It grants you more possibility of social mobility within the hierarchy that you find yourself. Rule 2.) Treat yourself like someone you're responsible for caring for. He mentioned comparative study on people filling and taking medication doctor's prescribed for them, versus medication prescribed for their pet. The data was curious, folks will almost always fill and administer medication to their pets, but much less likely will they fill, or complete medication prescribed for themselves. There are a myriad of ways each of us could take better care of ourselves. Pick one and start small was his advice. Rule 3.) Be friends with folks who want the best for you. Another common-sense sort of rule, but how often have we met folks who were in toxic relationships. Maybe they had a toxic boss, or a toxic romantic partner. Maybe it was a toxic parent, or 'friend' - the trick is to learn to identify folks in your life who genuinely want you to succeed versus those who resent your success or actively work to make you miserable. Learning to speak up for yourself in situations where someone is aggressive and oppressive is key here, and that's something he's worked on with people in his clinical practice. Rule 4.) Compare yourself to the person you were yesterday, not to anyone else. This is something I used to do a lot, especially when I was feeling rather self-deprecating. He makes a good argument, there is no other you but you. Everyone is different and comes with a different set of unique circumstances, it's also impossible to know everything about anyone else. In order to do any sort of rational, realistic comparison, the only person you can compare yourself with is you. To this end he suggested small changes, little improvements. Those little things add up over time and help you build your self image as well as your will power. Rule 5.) Don't let your kids do anything that makes you dislike them. The idea here is that you want your kids to be well-socialized. This opens up the world for them and makes them able to enter new situations and be well-liked by the folks they find there. He also mentions the crucial period between 2-4 years old where if you don't do the right thing it's very hard if not impossible to correct. Discipline is important, but it's also necessary not to be too overbearing, and if you watch Jordan talk about this rule he gives a much better breakdown and analysis than I can in a paragraph. Rule 6.) Set your house in order before going out and criticizing the world. This is another bit of classical wisdom reflected in the saying, "Don't go throwing stones in a glass house." There's plenty for us to work on in our own lives, and if we collectively acknowledged that and set about working on those little things that we had control over the world would improve over time as a natural consequence. He also mentioned how we've pulled a lot of folks out of poverty in the last decade or so. When he worked for the UN he was tasked with doing a study of those exact figures. How many folks were being pulled out of poverty and into lower or middle classes. The numbers were astounding. In 1895, most people lived on less than $1/day in today's dollars. Most people were seriously poor. In the 21st century, the UN hit it's target for reducing poverty 3 years ahead of schedule, and every day more people are getting hooked up to the power grid, more are having access to clean water, and still more and getting access to the internet. He acknowledges problems, chief among them is inequality, but like hierarchies, it is a feature of the landscape. The trick is to maintain balance such that there aren't too many idle folks getting desperate and angry. So what to do about inequality is something we need to discuss and address. He's certainly critical of anything resembling opportunity of outcome (government enforced equality) as it requires violence and doesn't work. The metaphor I like for equality of outcome is the Borg. They're a hive-mind race of cyborgs with a few queens. There is no individuality at all. They violently assimilate other lifeforms and their technology in their never-ending search for perfection. They come from the Star Trek Universe by the way. The Q&A was also interesting. One woman asked a rather good question about when is it okay to protest. She mentioned how he was protested at Queens University, than folks protested around the nation for gun control, and that a kid was shot in his grandmother's backyard and folks blocked traffic and interfered with normal routine in order to draw attention to an issue. His response was that it's okay to protest as long as you're willing to accept the responsibility for your actions. He called today's emphasis on activism a pathological holdover from the 1960s. The last question was on mass shootings and the gun control issue, the basic question was what can we do about it? Peterson suggested that it wasn't a good idea to let the government have a monopoly on violent potential, and the reason he thought that was because it would be more dangerous, not less. He used the metaphor of getting into a fight with your loved ones at a funeral - it's never a good idea. This fits in with his overall philosophy of responsibility and focusing on yourself first before trying to correct the ills of the world. I enjoyed seeing him live, he's got a genuine vibe about him and it's something you can almost grasp watching him on stage. I really would have loved to met him, if only for a hot minute. I can hardly wait to see what he gets up to next. |

\n\nHe gained internet popularity, or infamy, depending on your level of education, or indoctrination, in October of 2016 when he publicly decried the changes to the Ontario Human Rights Code (Bill C-16) that codified into law the necessity to refer to individuals by the name and personal pronouns of their choice. For Peterson, it wasn't about the LGBT community, but rather that for the first time in Canada, the government was telling its citizenry what they must say. \n\nThat was when most people who follow news on the internet started to hear about him. He made a splash because radical leftist types at his University created a controversy around him by protesting his appearances with white-noise machines and calling him a fascist. Every new protest brought him more attention, and while folks lauded him or hated him for his behavior, he has consistently gained in popularity. \n\nIn the intervening year and a half, I have become a Jordan Peterson Fanboy. \n\nNow there's a lot more going on than we can see under normal conditions, and Peterson's analysis of the stories helps us grasp more of our current situation. \n\nI've digressed, a bit... \n\nLast night! \n\nWhat did he talk about? Well, he did a rough outline of his book. He has 12 rules, he got through six in about an hour and a half. The first one is pretty smart, and it's what I'd call classic wisdom. \n\nRule 1.) Stand up straight with you shoulders back. Lobsters form hierarchies, and therefore they can't possibly be a social construct.\n\nHe also discussed research that demonstrated how lobsters responded to antidepressants that work on the Serotonin/Dopamine system, low social status within a group would result in a 'depressed' lobster (and there are ways to measure such things) but if you give him a little antidepressant he puffs back up like he just won a big fight and had his pick of the ladies. We see similar patterns in people, and you can consciously make your life better when you approach it with eager confidence. It grants you more possibility of social mobility within the hierarchy that you find yourself. \n\nRule 2.) Treat yourself like someone you're responsible for caring for. \n\nRule 3.) Be friends with folks who want the best for you. \n\nRule 4.) Compare yourself to the person you were yesterday, not to anyone else. \n\nRule 5.) Don't let your kids do anything that makes you dislike them. \n\nRule 6.) Set your house in order before going out and criticizing the world. This is another bit of classical wisdom reflected in the saying, \"Don't go throwing stones in a glass house.\" There's plenty for us to work on in our own lives, and if we collectively acknowledged that and set about working on those little things that we had control over the world would improve over time as a natural consequence. \n\nHe also mentioned how we've pulled a lot of folks out of poverty in the last decade or so. \n\nHe acknowledges problems, chief among them is inequality, but like hierarchies, it is a feature of the landscape. \n\nThe Q&A was also interesting. \n\nThe last question was on mass shootings and the gun control issue, the basic question was what can we do about it? Peterson suggested that it wasn't a good idea to let the government have a monopoly on violent potential, and the reason he thought that was because it would be more dangerous, not less. He used the metaphor of getting into a fight with your loved ones at a funeral - it's never a good idea. \n\nThis fits in with his overall philosophy of responsibility and focusing on yourself first before trying to correct the ills of the world. I enjoyed seeing him live, he's got a genuine vibe about him and it's something you can almost grasp watching him on stage. I really would have loved to met him, if only for a hot minute. I can hardly wait to see what he gets up to next.",

| body | Another day, another crazy lone wolf kills himself before the entire story can come to light. If you haven't heard about [the serial bomber in Austin](https://www.rt.com/usa/422014-austin-bombs-conditt-explosion/), Texas, yet, you might be living under a rock. Briefly, Mark Anthony Conditt, a 24-year-old community college dropout with no violent history was killed yesterday when his vehicle veered off the road and crashed, detonating an explosive device he had with him. Local law enforcement, likely with help from the FBI, identified him as the serial bomber who had recently planted four devices in Austin area, killing two people, injuring and traumatizing many more. The lone wolf narrative is already being pushed, with law enforcement readily suggesting he acted alone. Nikolas Cruz was also a lone wolf, so was Stephen Paddock. Most all mass shootings in recent history have had lone wolf perpetrators. They also tend to have witnesses who suggest there were multiple shooters. Typically these get dismissed, and the media is used to assert whatever narrative the FBI and law enforcement present as fact. Are you ready for the twist, dear reader? Pay close attention to the emotional reaction and the way your thoughts automatically veer. Are you paying close attention to yourself? Yes? What happens when I suggest many, if not all, of these mass-violent events are engineered and executed by a group of professionals. I'm guessing there's a tendency to label me a conspiracy theorist. To believe that such secrecy and stealth is impossible. To immediately conjure data points that confirm currently held beliefs. How'd I do? (let me know in the comments) First off, I do theorize about the possibility of conspiracies as a means to effect social engineering. Does that somehow make my ideas ludicrous? Of course not. That is however, how your perception of such discussions have already been socially engineered. [The CIA actually spent time and money in order to make the terms conspiracy and conspiracy theorist pejorative so that anyone challenging their narratives could be dismissed](https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-02-23/1967-he-cia-created-phrase-conspiracy-theorists-and-ways-attack-anyone-who-challenge). Secondly, secrecy is not only possible, it's more common than you think. From gag orders, to NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements), or simply proprietary intellectual property, secrecy is pretty standard. That's completely ignoring the levels of classified secrets the military and government use. There's even been local conspiracies in police departments (LA and NYC I'm looking at you) where cops have been doing shady illegal things for decades before their misdeeds came to light. Mafia-like organizations are as old as the history of humanity, and they thrived on the ability to execute conspiracies. Lastly, when these organizations use the truth, they use it to back their narrative. It becomes twisted and subservient to a greater lie. So yes, these guys will tell the truth and use facts in order to back their statements. They'll present as much truth as possible, and then twist it just a bit. Finding that twist or looking at the true data points that they haven't mentioned lets you think critically about the event and analyze it to discern what is true or false. Understanding these events of mass violence requires understanding their value. Naomi Klein wrote a great book called The Shock Doctrine. In it, she demonstrates how mass violence traumatizes the population - even when they aren't the direct victim. This state makes them highly suggestive, reactive, and emotional. You can channel that agitation into a political agenda with a tool like mass media. I wonder, is there any evidence this agitation is being channeled into a political agenda? We've had [a new shooting in Maryland,](https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/20/us/great-mills-high-school-shooting/index.html) where a 17 year old brought a gun to school and supposedly shot two students. He was then gunned down by the SRO (school resource officer) who was armed at the time. Interestingly, it's not exactly clear if the SRO shot the suspect, which begs the question, if not him then whom? This level of confusion is normal surrounding these events, especially very early on while more details are yet to be revealed. Typically this is where candor is found, and even though traumatized witnesses are unreliable, I trust their version of events to be true-ish. These early accounts can also be useful when they start to line up, as happened surrounding the Las Vegas shooting. This brings me to the reason I wrote this article. I want to introduce you, Dear Reader, to [The Greenbaum Speech](http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/sociopolitica/esp_sociopol_mindcon03.htm). If you have read it, congratulations. If not, I want to suggest to you that this speech by a professional therapist, Dr. DC Hammond, has the keys to understanding incidents of mass-violence in the current age. In it, Dr. Hammond discusses what he has found in the psyche's of victims of multiple personality disorder. These people have often been raised in cults since childhood, and were used in horrible experiments in human mind control. They have been fractured, using drugs, sexual abuse, and torture, into dozens of multiple personalities which serve unique purposes. You can have mind-programmed sex slaves or mind-programmed assassins. Some of the victims reported alters that were programmed to generate snuff films or child pornography, others were liaisons for the mafia or couriers. When you have a completely obedient, programmable human at your disposable, I'd imagine there's many different tasks you could give them. The ones that are self-reported by these people under hypnosis are rather suggestive of the type of personality who does the programming. This is the legacy of things like Project Paperclip - where our government brought literal Nazi scientists back to the US at the conclusion of World War II. Our intelligence apparatus gave them new identities and jobs. Mind control was one of their big areas of study. A lot of this came out in the 70s when folks starting exposing things like MK Ultra - and you can read about that on Wikipedia if you aren't familiar. My point? This is all completely plausible. I'm not spinning some wild theory that's utterly unrealistic. I'm taking a few data points - that are ignored if not completely FORBIDDEN by common agreement of ridicule upon arrival - and injecting them into the current milieu of seemingly random chaos. They have the means, the motive should be obvious. Chaos frightens people, frightened people get hijacked by stimulation of their flight or fight response, and most will be more amenable to suggestion in that state. Worse than that - they can use the media to make each violent incident reach more people, inspiring fear in a wider audience. From there it's easy to prop up a few representatives to portray each group and then amplify their attacks on one another. Let's look at gun control. We have these brave young people on the cover of time magazine versus the EVIL NRA. Immediately everyone on one side of the discussion is hijacked by their emotional investment. On one hand we have children's lives, on the other, a founding principle of our nation - neither can be taken lightly. What we see is polemic, derogatory language weaponized into memes. Classic Machiavelli. Divide and conquer. Completely left out of the picture is any real understanding of the causes of these events, or even the mere possibility that they are engineered by nefarious folks with an agenda. This is why we won't be able to resolve the problem with mere gun control, although is it clear that this is one of the agendas they are pursuing. What we really need in order to stop this kind of violence is to understand it. We must consider the possibility that mind-programmed killers are being weaponized as agents of chaos, *because there's evidence for it*. Heck, when you've read the backstory here, *it becomes likely*. When you have the FBI taking over any major investigation, there's an in to manipulate the narrative. We also have to remember that this is the same FBI that recruits impressionable young men with low IQs into terrorist plots for the purpose of getting a bust. These aren't good guys. So take a chance, read [The Greenbaum Speech](http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/sociopolitica/esp_sociopol_mindcon03.htm). Don your tinfoil hat and wear it proudly! Too much? Okay, just wear it quietly in your bedroom while reading history and taking detailed notes. |

[The CIA actually spent time and money in order to make the terms conspiracy and conspiracy theorist pejorative so that anyone challenging their narratives could be dismissed](https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-02-23/1967-he-cia-created-phrase-conspiracy-theorists-and-ways-attack-anyone-who-challenge).\n\nSecondly, secrecy is not only possible, it's more common than you think. \n\nLastly, when these organizations use the truth, they use it to back their narrative. \n\nUnderstanding these events of mass violence requires understanding their value. \n\n \n\n\nWe've had [a new shooting in Maryland,](https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/20/us/great-mills-high-school-shooting/index.html) where a 17 year old brought a gun to school and supposedly shot two students. \n\nThis brings me to the reason I wrote this article. \n\nThese people have often been raised in cults since childhood, and were used in horrible experiments in human mind control. \n\nThis is the legacy of things like Project Paperclip - where our government brought literal Nazi scientists back to the US at the conclusion of World War II. Our intelligence apparatus gave them new identities and jobs. Mind control was one of their big areas of study. A lot of this came out in the 70s when folks starting exposing things like MK Ultra - and you can read about that on Wikipedia if you aren't familiar. \n\nMy point? This is all completely plausible. \n\nI'm not spinning some wild theory that's utterly unrealistic. I'm taking a few data points - that are ignored if not completely FORBIDDEN by common agreement of ridicule upon arrival - and injecting them into the current milieu of seemingly random chaos. They have the means, the motive should be obvious. \n\nChaos frightens people, frightened people get hijacked by stimulation of their flight or fight response, and most will be more amenable to suggestion in that state. Worse than that - they can use the media to make each violent incident reach more people, inspiring fear in a wider audience. From there it's easy to prop up a few representatives to portray each group and then amplify their attacks on one another. \n\nLet's look at gun control. \n\n\n\n\n\nClassic Machiavelli. \n\nWhat we really need in order to stop this kind of violence is to understand it. \n\nSo take a chance, read [The Greenbaum Speech](http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/sociopolitica/esp_sociopol_mindcon03.htm). Don your tinfoil hat and wear it proudly! Too much? Okay, just wear it quietly in your bedroom while reading history and taking detailed notes.",

| title | Christopher Wiley looks a bit too much like Dade from the 1995 classic "Hackers" |
| body | https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DYqfdEQXkAAKqUI.jpg:large By now I'm sure everyone has seen The Guardian's new RUSSIA-RUSSIA-RUSSIA piece entitled ["The Cambridge Analytica Files."](https://www.theguardian.com/news/2018/mar/17/data-war-whistleblower-christopher-wylie-faceook-nix-bannon-trump) In it are the sordid details of how one then-24 year old computer programmer helped Steve Bannon - the most evil man in the world besides Putin and Trump - create a process to harvest Facebook data in order to built complex psychological profiles of the voting public and thus using that information to skew the vote, not only in the US but in the UK as well. Informational Warfare, they called it, and while Information Warring is not new, the oldest reference being propaganda, today the methods have evolved. Carole Cadwalladr does an especially good job of spinning the yarn, she even credits Wiley as 'a master storyteller' which indeed they both do throughout the article. Whether or not the story they tell is true, however, is certainly a question. When I saw the article the first thing that popped into my head was the 1995 classic "Hackers" starring Jimmy Lee Miller as Dade and Anglie Jolie in her debut film. She was so CUTE! The baby fat was still on her cheeks and I don't think she wore heels in the entire film. She also shoots a flare gun at a security guard in an act of utter female-badassery, but I digress. "Hackers" tells the story of bad-kid-gone-gone using his hacking powers in an attempt to stop a bigger, more evil foe. Ok, similar plot, but life sometimes imitates art, so maybe that's a fluke. Let's talk about the styling of these two individuals. First off, the hair is practically the same cut. Dade has a little more and Chris less, and it's pink, but heck, very similar. Outfits? Similar. Well, I'm stretching that, Chris is a bit more of an edge-lord with his pink hair, nose ring, and vegan diet, but the affinity for camo is there. So what did Chris actually do? "Wylie oversaw what may have been the first critical breach. Aged 24, while studying for a PhD in fashion trend forecasting, he came up with a plan to harvest the Facebook profiles of millions of people in the US, and to use their private and personal information to create sophisticated psychological and political profiles. And then target them with political ads designed to work on their particular psychological makeup." http://images4.fanpop.com/image/photos/17500000/Angelina-Jolie-in-Hackers-angelina-jolie-17534642-950-534.jpg ERMAGHAD! Targetted ads! My only weakness... Seriously, that's the psychological warfare mind-fuck tool The Guardian is claiming we were all victim of. You, dear reader, are easily manipulated by a targeted ad. That's pretty true, depending on your levels of agreeableness and neuroticism. The more agreeable you are, the more neurotic, the more likely you'll agree with a suggestion that will supposedly alleviate that negative emotion you're feeling. I'm rather not-agreeable, and my neuroticism is very low, I also didn't vote in 2016 - which fits. There are grains of truth in this story, that's why I'm analyzing it. The article continues - it's too long - about where this could begin: "One is in 2012, when Wylie was **21** and working for the Liberal Democrats in the UK, then in government as junior coalition partners. His career trajectory has been, like most aspects of his life so far, **extraordinary, preposterous, implausible.**" When something is implausible, that's usually because it happens rarely without some sort of outside input. Prepare for the donning of my tinfoil hat - but perhaps Wiley's trajectory was unlikely because he had help. "Wylie grew up in British Columbia and as a teenager he was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia. He left school at 16 without a single qualification. Yet at 17, he was working in the office of the leader of the Canadian opposition; at 18, he went to learn all things data from Obama’s national director of targeting, which he then introduced to Canada for the Liberal party. At 19, he taught himself to code, and in 2010, age 20, he came to London to study law at the London School of Economics." From high school dropout to working with the leader of the Canadian opposition party without even a preposition to explain the shift. That's a red flag. From there, he somehow got access to Obama's team. Wylie himself comments, "'Politics is like the mob, though,' he says. 'You never really leave.'" Which suggests his current move, his coming out party if you will, is a political move designed to have impact, similar to his previous work. Granted, I don't like folks being manipulative. If Wiley's story is 100% true - and I'm gathering a lot of the facts are - then huzzah for exposing the truth. My problem is that this story, and even this character, are a little too much. We'll have to see wait and see if this data makes a splash in the Brittish or American legal system, whether this was illegal is certainly questionable. The tie-in to Russia comes later, so once you've bought the story about Chris Wiley and what he does, the shift to Russia-hate comes fast: "There are other dramatic documents in Wylie’s stash, including a pitch made by Cambridge Analytica to Lukoil, Russia’s second biggest oil producer... Mueller’s investigation traces the first stages of the Russian operation to disrupt the 2016 US election back to 2014, when the Russian state made what appears to be its first concerted efforts to harness the power of America’s social media platforms, including Facebook. And it was in late summer of the same year that Cambridge Analytica presented the Russian oil company with an outline of its datasets, capabilities and methodology." There's the evil Ruskies! Continuing: "Lukoil is a private company, but its CEO, Alekperov, answers to Putin, and it’s been used as a vehicle of Russian influence in Europe and elsewhere – including in the Czech Republic, where in 2016 it was revealed that an adviser to the strongly pro-Russian Czech president was being paid by the company." Russian influence! ERMAGHAD! Now that they've gotten Russia and Putin into the narrative, they have to cover their asses with: "There’s no evidence that Cambridge Analytica ever did any work for Lukoil. What these documents show, though, is that in 2014 one of Russia’s biggest companies was fully briefed on: Facebook, microtargeting, data, election disruption." In other words, the entire Russia digression was completely based on a few executives exchanging emails and a power point presentation some of them may have seen. This is the same old story that we've been fed for months-going-on years repackaged. The theme of impressionable poor voting public being manipulated by some evil patriarchal conspiracy readily apparent. Blame, scapegoating, and red herrings populate the terrain, making it nearly impossible to determine 'the truth' when it comes to current events and politics. Even recent history is difficult to get a handle on, everything from JFK's assassination to 9-11, the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria and now Yemen... everything is shrouded in a thick coating of propaganda. Whenever folks in the military or political apparatus want to cloak something from public scrutiny, they use the infamous term 'National Security' which is really just code for "if you knew what we were doing, you'd demand our heads." Similarly, if we want to discredit, we can throw the old slur of conspiracy theorist. [There's actually a lot of evidence](https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-02-23/1967-he-cia-created-phrase-conspiracy-theorists-and-ways-attack-anyone-who-challenge) to suggest that the CIA actually coined the term and the idea to use it as a weapon. In much the same way, the mainstream media has been going on and on about election tampering, Russian interference, Trump's dalliance with Ms Daniels - any story they can grab that is both entertaining and utterly inconsequential. In that mileu, we have young Mr. Wiley making his debut album "I helped create Steve Bannon's mindfuck tool." While entertaining, it's nothing new, so pardon me if I'm a little skeptical. |

'You never really leave.'\" Which suggests his current move, his coming out party if you will, is a political move designed to have impact, similar to his previous work. \n\nGranted, I don't like folks being manipulative. \n\nThe tie-in to Russia comes later, so once you've bought the story about Chris Wiley and what he does, the shift to Russia-hate comes fast: \n\n\"There are other dramatic documents in Wylie’s stash, including a pitch made by Cambridge Analytica to Lukoil, Russia’s second biggest oil producer... Mueller’s investigation traces the first stages of the Russian operation to disrupt the 2016 US election back to 2014, when the Russian state made what appears to be its first concerted efforts to harness the power of America’s social media platforms, including Facebook. And it was in late summer of the same year that Cambridge Analytica presented the Russian oil company with an outline of its datasets, capabilities and methodology.\"\n\nThere's the evil Ruskies! Continuing: \n\n\"Lukoil is a private company, but its CEO, Alekperov, answers to Putin, and it’s been used as a vehicle of Russian influence in Europe and elsewhere – including in the Czech Republic, where in 2016 it was revealed that an adviser to the strongly pro-Russian Czech president was being paid by the company.\"\n\nRussian influence! ERMAGHAD! \n\nNow that they've gotten Russia and Putin into the narrative, they have to cover their asses with: \"There’s no evidence that Cambridge Analytica ever did any work for Lukoil. What these documents show, though, is that in 2014 one of Russia’s biggest companies was fully briefed on: Facebook, microtargeting, data, election disruption.\" In other words, the entire Russia digression was completely based on a few executives exchanging emails and a power point presentation some of them may have seen. \n\nThis is the same old story that we've been fed for months-going-on years repackaged. \n\nWhenever folks in the military or political apparatus want to cloak something from public scrutiny, they use the infamous term 'National Security' which is really just code for \"if you knew what we were doing, you'd demand our heads.\" Similarly, if we want to discredit, we can throw the old slur of conspiracy theorist. \n\nIn much the same way, the mainstream media has been going on and on about election tampering, Russian interference, Trump's dalliance with Ms Daniels - any story they can grab that is both entertaining and utterly inconsequential. In that mileu, we have young Mr. Wiley making his debut album \"I helped create Steve Bannon's mindfuck tool.\" While entertaining, it's nothing new, so pardon me if I'm a little skeptical.",
