bodyI just read a book on Willpower and I wanted to write something about it, perhaps that can help anyone one day. I will not copy paste what's in the book, by the way you can ask me in the comments if you are interested in purchasing the book, I will try to resume what I think is the most important, not only from this book, but also from my own experience. Understanding Willpower First, we have to understand what is Willpower, why it exists and how it works. The most simple way to put it, in my opinion, is like this: Willpower is the ability to go against your primary instincts. This is what will make you able to refuse to buy everything when you are doing some shopping, for example, or when you are hungry and will force yourself to eat vegetables instead of going to Macdonals. And also, basicaly, this is what makes you Human. The ability to take decisions, to think a little more longer term than usual, to ignore instant reward and pleasure in order to live in a better way in the long run. To sum it up simply, we only have a certain quantity of Willpower, this quantity is consumed when we take decisions, it recharges when we eat and sleep. Some say this amount of quantity can differ from one person through another, meaning some might have more Willpowers than others. Some say your amount of Willpower can be trained, and increased. Finally, and what I think is the most interesting, you can decide and organise your day so that you will economise Willpower, and then use it for things that really matter to you, especially for Creators, who require a lot of Willpower to create content and improve. Do not forget the basics You can forget all kinds of complicated methods if you do not fill in these two mandatory: eat and sleep. Those two are like fuel for your Willpower. You cannot expect anything without it. So the first step for a creator is to manage properly is sleep schedule and meals, and both deserve more than one article.. But basically if you feel like you aren't doing enough as you should be, well then perhaps it is because you do not sleep or eat properly. Our brain needs glucose in order to think and take decisions, and this is why students eat a lot of sugar based snacks, because their brain need it for studying intensively. But sugar is not the best way to feed your brain, as it is giving a glucose spike for a short period of time, and then what follows this pike usually is a feeling of tiredness, as your body need to digest this huge amount of sugar in your stomach. So in the end you eat glucose to be more productive, but that makes you more tired.. no, this is not a good way to do it. More natural nutrients such as fruits and vegetables will provide glucose too, but less rapidly than snacks and junk food. It will give you energy in the long run, thus making you less tired. If you stop eating glucose for a week, you will also stop receiving the need to eat some. Your body will be used for healthy food and feel less tired. Habits and decisions We saw that descisions exhaust Willpower, all throughout the day. When you wake up and ask yourself what you are going to eat for breakfast. When don't know which way to take to go to work, when you have to decide on what you will work today.. In every action that you do if you take a decision for it you will use Willpower. A first solution is to plan things ahead. The more precise you will be in your planning, the less Willpower you will lose BEFORE starting an action. Make a to-do list. 3 important things for the day, maximum. Do not do anything else until those three are done with. It is ok to do less. For example, do not write: "go buy some food", but instead write a precise list of things you need to buy. When the moment will come, you will have less things to decide. Then, you will have more willpower left for other things. The most successful people might not have more Willpower than you, but they use it only for things that really matter. You can even make a "to not do" list. A second solution is to use habits. The things we do without even thinking about it. It is hard to set up a habit, but it is easy to do a task when it has become a habit. This is how some people are so productive: they made the process of taking a pencil and writing or drawing, or whatever, become a habit. Here as well developing new habits deserve a whole article, but you can start thinking about it. The do it or do nothing rule In some way, Willpower is linked to procrastination, someone who procrastinates lacks willpower. The "do it or do nothing" rule is simple but powerful. This is how some writers are able to write 40 pages a day, each day, and still provide good books. What they do is applying this rule: for 4 hours in the morning, each day, they write or they do nothing. Simple as that. They might be sitting at cafes, if they don't write they will watch the sky, or people, but they won't do anything else, and this until they start writing. And it works incredibly well. You can apply this rule to every Creator. In whatever area. This rule is powerful because it is simple. Keep track of where you are A little strategy that can be effective even when you have no plan. Whatever you are trying to do, at the end of each day, check which progress you made and where you are. That will make you realise when you forget and the next day you will be more motivated. Also keeping track will help you be more realistic and plan things ahead easier. Don't forget to reward yourself You should not forget to give rewards to yourself. However, there are good reward, and bad reward. A good reward comes when you successfully completed a task you planned to do. It is important to not forget to do that, reward yourself with whatever makes you happy in the moment. A bad reward comes when you receive it for no reason, and then you forget that there is a reason and then you lose all motivation. Procrastinate positively : This can sound funny, but it works. When you want to do something unproductive just for pleasure, just tell yourself "I will do it after I finish doing this particular productive task". This simple. As soon as you have "pushed back" the unproductive task, just like magic, the need will go away. This is how the brain work. Once you planned it for later, in your brain it happens the same find that as if you actually did it. Read more at cyatophilum.com

Whatever you are trying to do, at the end of each day, check which progress you made and where you are. That will make you realise when you forget and the next day you will be more motivated. Also keeping track will help you be more realistic and plan things ahead easier.\n\nDon't forget to reward yourself\nYou should not forget to give rewards to yourself. However, there are good reward, and bad reward. A good reward comes when you successfully completed a task you planned to do. It is important to not forget to do that, reward yourself with whatever makes you happy in the moment. A bad reward comes when you receive it for no reason, and then you forget that there is a reason and then you lose all motivation.\n\nProcrastinate positively : This can sound funny, but it works. When you want to do something unproductive just for pleasure, just tell yourself \"I will do it after I finish doing this particular productive task\". This simple. As soon as you have \"pushed back\" the unproductive task, just like magic, the need will go away. This is how the brain work. Once you planned it for later, in your brain it happens the same find that as if you actually did it.\n\nRead more at cyatophilum.com",

bodyWhat is the best way to create content? How to keep going and be a successful content creator? Whether you are a Youtube creator, a musician, artist, that you create content for a website, digital content in general, here is a top 10 advice that will help you in the long journey of getting an audience, inspired by the CEO of Patreon. 1. Do what you love The most important thing is this simple : to do what you love. Do something that you could do without being paid, and that you truly enjoy doing. It is mandatory because it will help you keep going at all times. It should be something that you do naturally. Everything will come after this basic principle. 2. Follow others Follow people who have built up a following. Learn from them. Seek things they do that you don't do that could help you. Don't copy paste exactly what they do. Get inspired from them, but stay original. Use the methods that made them successful, but be yourself. 3. Frequency of release This one results from 1. Too many creators do not have a precise frequency of release, yet it is crucial for many things. It builds loyalty to your community. It creates some kind of excitement of your audience. Automatically, they will start anticipating your content. You will take a bigger place in their mind ; If you show up too much frequently, you will be annoying, if you never show up, you will be forgotten, if you show up once a week/ month, you will be awaited. It doesn't mean you have to drown under the work, as we will see now in 4. 4. Content Quality I hope you read in order because this follows the previous points. Now you may be like me right now, a kind of perfectionist, who still has lots to learn, but spends too much time on unnecessary details instead of the main interesting material. Don't do this. Make your content raw. Do not make it perfect. You will improve with time. Do not waste too much time on details. Quality will come naturally as you improve, and you will be faster. Stay focused on the main subject, create more of that. 5. The community Get involved with your community. Answer comments, read feedback. it doesn't mean you have to take seriously every bad or hate comments. Ignore what slows you down but be part of your community. It must not be a one way street. 6. Catch traffic Catch people coming from the internet with typical responsive content. Understand how it works. Google is a search engine. Youtube is a search engine. Abuse that. Social networks alone will not bring constant traffic. Make timeless content: build up something that resists time, and will still interest people in the years to come. Create "classic" content. But not only. 7. Surf trends Use google trends to find the most popular trend lines. Find what's growing and what's not. It is a bit contrary with the previous point (make timeless content) but it is mandatory to grow fast and most importantly stop being a "random" that nobody knows. 8. Make it a story Make it a story. Learn story telling. Read books about it. People love stories. This blog is supposed to be a story as well, or, well, I'm trying. 9. Find your place You do not have to be everywhere. Perhaps you don't want to create Instagram Stories, but first, try a little bit everything. See what's working and what's not. Then, find your place and focus your efforts there. 10. Do warm-ups You don't want to be "cold" when creating content. It might discourage you for no reason because you will not be at your best level. So start with meaningless warm-ups. For example, if you are an artist, sketch quickly what comes in your mind, if you play the guitar, start doing scales, etc. 15 minutes is the average time to warm up. body<h2>The Power of the Subconscious Mind</h2> <p>I wanted to tell you about this one, for it is a really important thing to consider, especially if you are a creator like me. I will define the meaning of the subconscious mind and tell you how to influence and use it to your own advantage.</p> <p>I like to represent this psychology as Subconscious-Chan:</p> <img src="https://cyatophilum.com/uploads/subconscious_neutral.png" height="350"> <p>She is like a pet, following you all the time, working for you even while you sleep (This is why I drew her as a maid from anime).</p> <p>Impressive isn’t it?</p> <p>However she is invisible.</p> <img src="https://cyatophilum.com/uploads/subconscious_invis.png" height="350"> <p>If you don't know she exists, you cannot make use of her.</p> <h3>Here is how it works</h3> <p>Subconcsious-Chan classifies and remembers every thought that reaches the conscious through one of the five senses. Any kind of thought will get to her. You can voluntarily pass her a plan, project, goal that you would like to see become accomplished.</p> <p>Subconcsious-Chan works day and night. To this day we still don't know how, but she always finds the most practical ways to achieve her desire.</p> <p>All you have to do is pass her YOUR desire. You cannot control her entirely, but you can hand her over your plans. This is why it is really important to write down your plans with the best precision possible.</p> <p>Subconcsious-Chan will not stay idle. Let's say that she always needs to eat. If you stop feeding her with your desires, who knows what she will end up eating? Probably something toxic or cancerous. You live in the center of everything that get to her unwittingly. Try to stop the flow of negative thoughts: you can influence your Subconscious-Chan so that she only gets positive waves.</p> <h3>Basically what you want to do is to make her happy.</h3> <img src="https://cyatophilum.com/uploads/subconscious_happy.png" height="350"> <p>In order to maker her happy, you need to talk to her, but she only talks in a specific language: the language of emotion or sentiment. If you do not use this language she won't understand you. Here is the list of the seven strongest positive emotions:</p> <ul> <li>desire ;</li> <li>faith ;</li> <li>love ;</li> <li>sexuality ;</li> <li>enthusiasm ;</li> <li>tenderness ;</li> <li>hope.</li> </ul> <p>There are some others, but these are the most powerful and the most creative ones.</p> <p>In the language of emotions, there are also the strongest negative ones. Trust me, you don't want to use them to communicate with Subconscious-Chan. That will make her sad.</p> <img src="https://cyatophilum.com/uploads/subconscious_sad.png" height="350"> <p>The seven most important negative emotions are:</p> <ul> <li>fright ;</li> <li>jealousy ;</li> <li>hate ;</li> <li>vengeance ;</li> <li>greediness ;</li> <li>superstition ;</li> <li>anger.</li> </ul> <p>Positive thoughts cannot stay in your mind at the same time as negative thoughts. Make your choice. Fill your mind with positive thoughts so that there is no place for the negative ones. On average, 80% of our thoughts are negative thoughts!</p> <p>Subconscious-Chan can be fed from random thoughts! Thoughts of defeat or thoughts of success. It is all up to you; the result is crucial because it will either raise you or shatter you. You saw what are the seven negative emotions, you have to chase them away. You know what are the important positive emotions. It is just your decision that they take up your spirit. Every day you build up your creativity, and with Happy Subconscious-Chan on your side, you will be able to control the fundamentals of every initiative.</p> <br> <i>The grandeur of a person is the measure of his thoughts.</i> Read more at https://cyatophilum.com/?page=blog

I will define the meaning of the subconscious mind and tell you how to influence and use it to your own advantage.</p>\n<p>I like to represent this psychology as Subconscious-Chan:</p>\n<img src=\"https://cyatophilum.com/uploads/subconscious_neutral.png\" height=\"350\">\n<p>She is like a pet, following you all the time, working for you even while you sleep (This is why I drew her as a maid from anime).</p>\n<p>Impressive isn’t it?</p>\n<p>However she is invisible.</p>\n<img src=\"https://cyatophilum.com/uploads/subconscious_invis.png\" height=\"350\">\n<p>If you don't know she exists, you cannot make use of her.</p>\n\n<h3>Here is how it works</h3>\n\n<p>Subconcsious-Chan classifies and remembers every thought that reaches the conscious through one of the five senses. Any kind of thought will get to her. You can voluntarily pass her a plan, project, goal that you would like to see become accomplished.</p>\n<p>Subconcsious-Chan works day and night. To this day we still don't know how, but she always finds the most practical ways to achieve her desire.</p>\n<p>All you have to do is pass her YOUR desire. You cannot control her entirely, but you can hand her over your plans. This is why it is really important to write down your plans with the best precision possible.</p>\n<p>Subconcsious-Chan will not stay idle. Let's say that she always needs to eat. If you stop feeding her with your desires, who knows what she will end up eating? Probably something toxic or cancerous. You live in the center of everything that get to her unwittingly. Try to stop the flow of negative thoughts: you can influence your Subconscious-Chan so that she only gets positive waves.</p>\n\n<h3>Basically what you want to do is to make her happy.</h3>\n\n<img src=\"https://cyatophilum.com/uploads/subconscious_happy.png\" height=\"350\">\n\n<p>In order to maker her happy, you need to talk to her, but she only talks in a specific language: the language of emotion or sentiment. If you do not use this language she won't understand you. Here is the list of the seven strongest positive emotions:</p>\n<ul>\n\t<li>desire ;</li>\n\t<li>faith ;</li>\n\t<li>love ;</li>\n\t<li>sexuality ;</li>\n\t<li>enthusiasm ;</li>\n\t<li>tenderness ;</li>\n\t<li>hope.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>There are some others, but these are the most powerful and the most creative ones.</p>\n<p>In the language of emotions, there are also the strongest negative ones. Trust me, you don't want to use them to communicate with Subconscious-Chan. That will make her sad.</p>\n\n<img src=\"https://cyatophilum.com/uploads/subconscious_sad.png\" height=\"350\">\n\n<p>The seven most important negative emotions are:</p>\n<ul>\n\t<li>fright ;</li>\n\t<li>jealousy ;</li>\n\t<li>hate ;</li>\n\t<li>vengeance ;</li>\n\t<li>greediness ;</li>\n\t<li>superstition ;</li>\n\t<li>anger.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Positive thoughts cannot stay in your mind at the same time as negative thoughts. Make your choice. Fill your mind with positive thoughts so that there is no place for the negative ones. On average, 80% of our thoughts are negative thoughts!</p>\n\n<p>Subconscious-Chan can be fed from random thoughts! Thoughts of defeat or thoughts of success. It is all up to you; the result is crucial because it will either raise you or shatter you. You saw what are the seven negative emotions, you have to chase them away. You know what are the important positive emotions. It is just your decision that they take up your spirit. Every day you build up your creativity, and with Happy Subconscious-Chan on your side, you will be able to control the fundamentals of every initiative.</p>\n<br>\n\n<i>The grandeur of a person is the measure of his thoughts.</i>\n\nRead more at https://cyatophilum.com/?page=blog",

bodyThe HUGE problem of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and cie that you must AVOID A website is like wine, with time it gets more valuable. If you are an artist or a content creator in general, I'm not saying that you should stop using social networks, of course not. But I will talk about their problems and what you should to do avoid them. Content with expiration date. A Facebook post, a Tweet, an Instagram, Reddit post, etc., has an expiration date. The content you create on those platforms will last hours, at maximum, days. Then it is lost. You will ALWAYS need to create new content. However, a website page or blog article will still show up on Google, even 10 years later because.. Google doesn't like social media platforms. When was the last time that you saw a Facebook post on the first page of Google? Ok, now, when was the last time that you saw a website, or blog article on the first page of Google? More often I guess. Google doesn't like these platforms. Probably because he cannot, or doesn't want to index into his search engine the billions of posts that are created each day. I am not talking about profile pages, though, those are indexed and will show up on Google. A short term Referencing and Advertising Strategy. You can choose to use Facebook, Twitter ads by example to grow your business or community. It will take you a lot of research and work to finally find the right campaign that will bring you a decent amount of clients. The problem is that whenever needed the platform can choose to change its algorithm. You are totally dependant from it. You will have to adapt your strategy once again. Besides, the advertising is short term, and the amount of new traffic is only temporary, until you pay for another campaign. What you should do. If you are in a hurry, sure, go ahead and advertise on social media platforms. You will get quick results. But if you want a longer term strategy, and this is what I would advise to do, start thinking about natural referencing. You should not focus the maximum of your efforts on social media. Build content that will work for you long time after you create it. Get your own website, start a Youtube channel, create podcasts... things that will bring you traffic slowly but constantly without costing you a penny. What you should do is first publishing content on your website, create a video, and THEN only then post on social media. Comment if you agree or not or tell me what your current strategy is as a content creator. From : https://cyatophilum.com

bodyHow to sell Art prints : Getting Started Whether you are an artist or a photographer, you might want to sell prints. The idea is to use your high quality digital image, painting or photo, and to print it on a canvas with a support so that you can attach it on a wall for decoration. This is a good way for your fans to support you, and they get something real and of good quality in exchange. This article is a Getting Started : I will quickly cover what you need to know before you actually start selling prints. 3 ways to sell prints 1. Use a dedicated website. A What? The easiest, fastest way to sell prints. A lot of e-commerce websites allows you to become a member of theirs. Usually for free, you create a profile page, and this is from this page that your fans will be able to buy prints. Why? This is for you if you aren't a developer and do not want to manage your own website. Indeed, managing a website can be very time consuming. Here, all you have to do is upload your images, and the company behind the website will do everything else: taking payments, producing the print and shipping. But... The website will take a commission on your sellings (around 3.5% on each). You are dependant from the website. It's a 50/50 deal: by marketing your profile page, you advert their company and domain name. OK, how? Register to the website, configure your profile, create your products with your art. This is really simple, all you have to do is focus on your art. 2. Create a website using a template A what? A template is a website creation tool for people who want their own website without touching a single line of code. Some examples of templates: Wordpress, Shopify. Why? The template will help you set up your website quickly: creating the shop, taking payments. Some templates even allow you to directly connect your shop to a print on demand service. This is also called drop shipping. But... Not every template is free. Some require a subscription, especially shop templates like we need. You have to find a supplier for your prints, and make sure the prints are shipped correctly to your fans. OK, how? Choose and learn a template. Choose a web hosting platform. Web hosting costs around 5$ per month. Find a domain name for your website (most hosting platforms also sell domain names). A domain name costs around 10$ per year. Create your website with the template. You will probably need a commercial extension in order to sell your prints. Find a supplier that creates and ship prints. You can connect your website to the supplier if you want the process to be automatic. 3. Create a website from scratch From what? Create your website starting from zero, or almost. You will need some knowledge in web development. Why? The only limit is your imagination. You create the design, the structure of your dream site. No need for a paid template, no commission fees on your sales. But... That's a lot of work. It requires experience, time, and organisation. OK, how? Choose a web hosting platform. Find a domain name. Choose a way to accept payments. For example, a solution like PayPal is great because they handle the security of the transactions, and offers things like refunds, subscriptions, and more. Use an SSL certificate. You don't want your users to get their details stolen. You can see a website uses SSL with the green padlock on the left of the url. Find a supplier that creates and ship prints. I tried to give a little overview of the ways you can use to sell your own prints. So you can start thinking about it! I didn't go into details, the article is already long, so I will probably write more on the subject later. You can ask me anything in the comments! From : https//cyatophilum.com

Some require a subscription, especially shop templates like we need. You have to find a supplier for your prints, and make sure the prints are shipped correctly to your fans.\n\nOK, how?\nChoose and learn a template.\nChoose a web hosting platform. Web hosting costs around 5$ per month.\nFind a domain name for your website (most hosting platforms also sell domain names). A domain name costs around 10$ per year.\nCreate your website with the template. You will probably need a commercial extension in order to sell your prints.\nFind a supplier that creates and ship prints. You can connect your website to the supplier if you want the process to be automatic.\n3. Create a website from scratch\nFrom what?\nCreate your website starting from zero, or almost. You will need some knowledge in web development.\n\nWhy?\nThe only limit is your imagination. You create the design, the structure of your dream site. No need for a paid template, no commission fees on your sales.\n\nBut...\nThat's a lot of work. It requires experience, time, and organisation.\n\nOK, how?\nChoose a web hosting platform.\nFind a domain name.\nChoose a way to accept payments. For example, a solution like PayPal is great because they handle the security of the transactions, and offers things like refunds, subscriptions, and more.\nUse an SSL certificate. You don't want your users to get their details stolen. You can see a website uses SSL with the green padlock on the left of the url.\nFind a supplier that creates and ship prints.\nI tried to give a little overview of the ways you can use to sell your own prints. So you can start thinking about it! I didn't go into details, the article is already long, so I will probably write more on the subject later. You can ask me anything in the comments!\n\nFrom : https//cyatophilum.com",

bodyThis article will help you stop procrastinating. I'm not saying just the fact of reading will make you stop instantly, but it will give you the resources to start dealing with procrastination and finally spend time doing things that really matter. If you don't know what procrastination is, you should read my last post. There are some habits that once put into place will make you stop temporizing your life: Get a better environment Use a strict planning Don't be afraid to get started Avoid notifications Think differently Don't worry, I will explain all these points! What do I mean by a better environment? First get a better physical environment. There is a motto that says : "An empty desk equals an empty brain". While this is true, that doesn't mean we should keep our place a mess. An empty brain is actually what we are looking for. It's a figure of speech, of course, but we really want to clear things out so that we can fully focus on our work or hobby that we want to get done. It is way easier to work that way, you will see. If until now you used to keep your place a mess, then clean it asap. Also, if you have some kind of homework or chore that needs to be done, do it. "But that is so boring!" you will say. What if I told you that there is a way to make it become a enjoyable moment? Most of the chores only take your hands, but not your brain. Use that time to get new ideas, think about your project, you'll see that in the end that kind of time is precious, and rather than being avoided, should be enjoyed. Then get a better social environment, but that is a harder thing to change : If everyone around you is partying, watching Netflix all day, etc., it will be harder for you to even work 10 minutes on your stuff. Because mediocrity becomes the standard. If you can, find people with high standards. Why a planning? I'm sure you remember all those times where you had 3 weeks to do a school assignment and did it all in the last day? I'm also sure you don't want to have to do that ever again. That's the power of a deadline. It is stronger than the monkey and will make him go away and stop taking actions out of your own will. A procrastinator hates plannings, and when he creates one, doesn't respect it. This is because the planning isn't strict enough. Just a list of things to do isn't enough. It is indeed a good start, but won't be strong enough to beat the monkey. Use dates, deadlines, daily tasks, and use a checklist. It may sound ridiculous, but the simple fact of checking tasks when they are done will motivate you. By example, I always have a top 3 list of things to do during the day, and I don't start anything else until they are done. You are afraid to be started and here is why. When you start a task, it will always take 15 minutes to warm up and be productive, and those 15 first minutes are the hardest part : the monkey will try to stop you and go back to useless activities, for his own instant amusement. And he will try hard. But the magic is once past these 15 minutes he will have given up. You will be free from him and actually enjoy what you are doing, while doing meaningful things. Avoiding notifications Nowadays we easily become surrounded by notifications if we don't pay attention. Your phone, emails, social network notifications... Each one of them is most likely to break your 15 minute warm-up period and you'll have to start all over again. It's a loss of energy and time you don't want to happen, trust me. So turn off your phone and even the internet if you have to. Nothing else is more important than your projects. Keep that in mind. Think differently The mind is a powerful thing. This could be the subject of a whole article. To deal with procrastination, each and every time you are about to start an action, take a few seconds to think. Make this become a habit too. Think positively about how you see yourself in the future. You want to write a book? See yourself publishing this book. You want to hit the gym? See yourself with muscles. Etc. Once you have the picture in your mind, will you choose to procrastinate or actually start becoming what you really want to be? It will all become easier. Taking these new habits should help you procrastinate less. However, I want to add that there are good procrastination and bad procrastination. Indeed the idea isn't to stop completely procrastinating. Procrastination isn't always a bad thing. Your brain needs it. It helps finding new ideas, solving problems, all of those are tasks that your brain need to do and those take time, but are done automatically while procrastinating. This is partly why you were able to write your assignment in a single night while you had three whole weeks to do so, because you have been procrastinating the task for three weeks. The problem is that this could have been done much quicker. And you, how did you stop procrastinating? Read more articles on https://cyatophilum.com

bodyProcrastination : the art of pushing back to later a task that should be done right now. Or my favorite definition : How to self ruin your life for no apparent reason. This behavior doesn't affect everyone, some say it's most often found with clever people. Is that true? I don't know. What I do know quite well is I'm a huge procrastinator, so that I can write about it. It's a daily battle for me. It is for you as well? Great. Let's try to understand what is happening. Basically everytime before you do an action, you make a choice between another action. A normal person is perfectly able to make the choice that is better long term and actually perform that action. It could be an activity that will make you happy once started or simply a work that needs to be done. A procrastinator will struggle to make such choice, because he's not alone in making a choice. He lives with a pet. The most popular representation of this pet is a monkey. The monkey only wants immediate satisfaction and amusement. He doesn't care about long term. A procrastinator is weaker than his pet. He isn't the master of his choices, and in the end he will always make the wrong choices and his whole life will suck. This is funny because it does sound a little like our society. Every decision is made short term, resulting in global dark and sad future. A procrastinator will struggle to learn an instrument, read books, start projects and NOT quit after a few weeks ( Do you remember the game maidsvsdemons.com? I promise to get back at it ;) ), basically stay focus on a task and do his best. He will always tend to do it last minute and rush the work. Does that ring a bell for you? Every time you went scrolling Facebook endlessly, or watch useless Youtube videos, or wasted your time doing something completely unproductive, that was the monkey's choice, that makes him happy, but not you. You're just waiting for the monkey to leave you alone, but you know that will never happen. You HAVE to live with him. It's important to know why we procrastinate, before even thinking about how to deal with it. Which I'll try to answer in the next posts. From my blog http://cyatophilum.com/

He isn't the master of his choices, and in the end he will always make the wrong choices and his whole life will suck.\n\nThis is funny because it does sound a little like our society. Every decision is made short term, resulting in global dark and sad future.\n\nA procrastinator will struggle to learn an instrument, read books, start projects and NOT quit after a few weeks ( Do you remember the game maidsvsdemons.com? I promise to get back at it ;) ), basically stay focus on a task and do his best. He will always tend to do it last minute and rush the work. Does that ring a bell for you? Every time you went scrolling Facebook endlessly, or watch useless Youtube videos, or wasted your time doing something completely unproductive, that was the monkey's choice, that makes him happy, but not you. You're just waiting for the monkey to leave you alone, but you know that will never happen. You HAVE to live with him.\n\nIt's important to know why we procrastinate, before even thinking about how to deal with it. Which I'll try to answer in the next posts.\n\nFrom my blog http://cyatophilum.com/",
