body![Kid Photo.jpeg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYUmLwuqFeZuzNMwJnftiYfvdq6Xhsw6Dyoy9oLxUDGFk/Kid%20Photo.jpeg) As a parent, we all need to spend time teaching our kids about the importance of money and how to spend it wisely. It may not be easy to teach kids how to be financially responsible from an early age, but you can commit if you adhere to a very strict process. In a world of reckless lending, financial bankruptcy, and government bailouts, it all comes down to the internet’s most famous currency- Bitcoin. Yes Bitcoin the grand daddy of them all. But what about all those parents who have never heard of Bitcoin or digital currencies? Well, you are ahead of the curve if start now to teach your child about digital literacy. Surprisingly it's not that far a stretch. Take the time to ask your child if they are old enough to have played any simulation of video games and in all likelihood they will already have had some exposure to trading, buying or selling tokens for game credits. Who is teaching who you might ask? Talking to your kids about bitcoin can teach them valuable lessons about money management. In the long-run, this could help them manage their money with a lot more responsibility. Sadly, cryptocurrency is a domain that is so new that only the savviest can understand. You can change that by starting now with your children or young adults. However, if you do nothing and wait 10 years from now today’s 15-year old will know everything there is about trading bitcoin. As prudent parents though we can make sure our children learn about this the correct way and make fewer possible mistakes along the way. To make sure they make sensible choices, you should talk to them about bitcoin as soon as possible. The present generation will grow up aware of what bitcoin is. At some point, they’ll develop the capacity to understand what virtual money is, and how it can be used as fiat money. The idea of virtual cash holds in a virtual wallet is not the most concerning factor and in some cases presently it is not that new (kids use debit and credit cards). What’s important is that kids learn that trading bitcoin is risky. Risk comes in the form of not only the volatility but the possibility of falling wayward to a scam or some other sorted mis-direction. Focus on teaching your kids the fundamentals of money management, debt avoidance, and personality financial responsibility. On the bright side, you can use the opportunity to teach kids about taking responsibility. Talk to them about the importance of being careful and paying close attention to the actions they take. Emphasize the benefits of a digital financial system, but make sure to highlight that the decisions they make are fundamental. Make sure they know the decision they make have consequences both good and bad. One of bitcoin’s most famous logos – “be your own bank” – is reason enough to go digital on your finances; and teach your kids about it from a young age. However, with great financial liberty comes great responsibility. When you are in full control of your money, you are also in charge of safeguarding it. With conventional bank accounts, if you lose a password or username, it’s rather easy to regain access. But if you lose the key to your bitcoin wallet, chances to recover it are slim. Again don't sell your child short on understanding the digital part but the safe keeping part may differ. Purchasing, selling, trading and saving Bitcoin can teach responsibility. Debt is something most everyone in today's world will incur. Debt is the all-in-one word that sums up today’s financial crisis (we need not look far to see the financial burden many of the worlds citizens carry on a daily and long term basis). The conventional financial system is broken, but successful because it depends on a supply called “the debt of the people”. The average consumer is directly affected by a wrong debt mentality. Many vendors allow you to buy things now, but pay for them later. This breeds a false sense of buy now pay later. What if you can’t? Inevitably, while your kids will grow up they’ll learn at some point that they can buy things without paying for them on the spot. They will overlook the consequences involved because they’re driven by instinct. With bitcoin, the rules of the financial game change. To begin with, bitcoin is not debt. It is a reliable, stable source of currency (or is that commodity or is that security) that doesn’t depend on any third party, like a bank. Because of bitcoin’s deflationary nature, people are encouraged to save their coins rather than spend or trade them at a lower price. Talk to your kids about the importance of saving bitcoins. Since the overall value of the digital currency is expected to grow because of a huge demand, toddlers and youth might get excited by the idea that saving will eventually pay off. The volatility of the crypto markets will teach youth in very quick fashion the highs and lows of investment. Rather than support a broken financial system and be unsure that your kids will grow up financially independent, it’s best to take precaution measures ahead of time. In my next article we're going to take a closer look at Bitcoin and how to get started investing. Credits to Jason Phillips

bodyDo you believe the youth of today, let's say any age through K-12 are financial literate? Well the answer for high school students across North America is that they have a mere 18% financial literacy rate. Almost half of those will grow up to be financially illiterate adults. We are talking current financial literacy (fiat) what about digital literacy? There have been calls, both nationwide and around the world, to have mandatory financial education in schools. The general consensus is to start in high school, but research shows that children are ready at a much earlier age. They have the capacity to understand much more about investing than we give them credit for. Parents will be a child's first financial teacher and can help them understand the difference between short term savings goals and long term investing goals. Risk can be explained with an age appropriate example of how much they are willing to lose for a bigger reward. Diversification is easily explained to a child with the tried and true "What would happen if you had all your eggs in one basket and you dropped it?" There are however, a couple of stumbling blocks that need to be overcome: 1) How do you engage kids financially, when the truth is they're just not that interested in Grandpa's investments. 2) Financial education in itself, is not enough to guarantee that children will grow up to be money savy adults. To retain what they have been taught, there must be accompanying real life practice. Cryptocurrency offers a novel solution that today's digital youth will find intriguing. Many children are already familiar with digital payments because of their experience with video in-game purchases and tokens, as well as pre-paid credit and gift cards. It is not a big step to introduce them to cryptocurrency or "internet money". Unlike many adults, kids will have no fear trying this out and will find it pretty cool that they can invest in something like this. Did you know that a coin exists at present where very young children can buy, sell and trade coins. It's even listed on coinmarketcap.com Don't believe me check out Piggy Coin. In later articles I'll be sharing more on the Piggy Coin. One of the biggest differences in investing in digital currencies such as Bitcoin versus the stock of various companies, is the cost involved. Each stock purchase can come with a hefty fee and minimum purchase requirements. If you are spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on each stock purchase for a child, you need to make darn sure they pick one that will stand up to Grandpa's scrutiny. With cryptocurrency, minimum purchase requirements vary depending on the exchange, but 0.00001 bitcoin (less than 9 cents) is a common amount. With currencies priced to the eighth decimal, fractions of a single coin can be purchased - this also makes a great math workout for kids. The exchange trading fees are miniscule - You must be 18 years of age to sign up for an account at an exchange, so a parent or guardian will have to help with this. Mastering how to buy and sell on an exchange can give them the confidence to manage their own investments when they get older. Having an extremely low cost base like cryptocurrency, allows children to make mistakes without suffering financially. They can learn some very valuable lessons through the experience of picking their own investments. At this early stage of development, Cryptocurrency is a high risk investment, so never invest more than you can afford to lose. I recommend testing the waters by giving up a non-essential purchase you would have spent money on anyway and using those funds to make your currency purchase. The other consideration is if you use the "allowance"structure for your children maybe consider exchanging that mechanism for crypto. As parents move to debit cards for the kids and the youth already know a lot about tokens associated with playing games it makes a natural transition. If you are investing more than a few experimental dollars, do your due diligence and fully research the currencies you choose. If you aren't quite ready to let your kids buy cryptocurrency, you can create a practice game at home or at school. CoinMarketCap lists the market cap, price, supply, 24 hour volume, % price change, and a price graph of over 1500 digital currencies. To make life easier, have the children select a few currencies from only the first page or two. Record today's price as well as how much they bought of each and then follow up each week updating the price. Some of the currencies have wild price swings and not all of them are trustworthy, but this is a good teaching tool to cover those topics as well. A competition could be held with each child receiving a certain dollar value of play money to invest, with the winner having the best performing portfolio after a certain time frame. Either way, kids will begin growing and tracking their investments through the ups and downs, and be on their way to join the ranks of the financially educated. In the next step want to involve them in real trading as it exists on an exchange then head on over to Cryptoground where they have a mock with play money site so you can do realtime trading. In my next article I'll take a closer look at where to start looking for educational articles and videos so your children/youth can learn all about Crypto Currencies and the exciting opportunities which lie ahead and how they can learn and invest early to get ahead of the herd (they are coming)

In the next step want to involve them in real trading as it exists on an exchange then head on over to Cryptoground where they have a mock with play money site so you can do realtime trading.\n\nIn my next article I'll take a closer look at where to start looking for educational articles and videos so your children/youth can learn all about Crypto Currencies and the exciting opportunities which lie ahead and how they can learn and invest early to get ahead of the herd (they are coming)",

body10 Best Ethereum Wallets The year is 2018 and the need for privacy and security is now at an all-time high! Here are the top 10 Ethereum Wallets that you must consider to store and protect your Ether cryptocurrency tokens: Ledger Nano S Wallet Type: Hardware Wallet Ledger Nano S, being a hardware wallet, is one of the most secure options to store Ethereum in. Ledger is a multi-currency wallet which allows you to store your Ethereum offline. The device is highly secure because it ensures that your key remains with you, while the device remains in your physical possession. It comes with an OLED screen which you can use to check your balances. It is a multi-currency wallet popular among Ethereum investors and traders. The wallet does not even need to be connected to the internet to receive payments as it can sync them whenever you connect it. Ledger Nano S can store both, ETH as well as ETC cryptocurrencies. It is perhaps the most secure Ethereum Wallet! Trezor Wallet Type: Hardware Hardware wallets, in general, are more secure compared to other types of wallets. This is primarily because you can exert a greater amount of control on these wallets and you do not have to rely on a third party. Trezor is one such hardware Ethereum wallet which is popularly used by the people. Trezor was in fact the first ever hardware wallet to be created for cryptocurrencies. It started off with support for Bitcoin, but now supports Ethereum as well. Trezor is light and portable, and similar to Ledger Nano S, it comes with an OLED display as well which allows you to check your balances and verify transactions. It also has a web interface. MyEtherWallet Wallet Type: Web Wallet A popular Ethereum Wallet when it comes to those users who prefer to use web wallets, MyEtherWallet is perhaps the safest web wallet for Ethereum. We call it the safest because unlike other web wallets which tend to store your key on their or third party servers, MyEtherWallet allows you to store your private key on your device - making it more secure. This is also the perfect web platform for you if you are using the Trezor or Ledger Nano S wallets because it allows you to access your hardware wallet funds in a web environment. There are no third party servers involved in using this wallet. Moreover, MyEtherWallet also allows you to create smart contracts. This wallet also ranks high in privacy as there are no registrations needed, hence your personal information remains secure. Mist Wallet Type: Desktop Wallet What separates Mist from any other Ethereum wallet is the fact that Mist is an official wallet from Ethereum. Those using Mist must keep in mind that the password you are required to create a secure password during the setup process - make sure you do not forget this password as this is your only way of logging into the wallet. Mist is a secure platform because it will be located on your PC and your private keys remain with you. In addition to storing your Ethereum tokens, Mist also allows you to exchange other cryptocurrencies with the help of Shapeshift. Setting up and using Mist is easy and it can run on Windows, Mac as well as Linux platforms. The Mist wallet is also privacy centric as it does not need any registrations from the user. Coinbase Wallet Type: Web Wallet Coinbase is one of the most popular alternatives for those who prefer web wallets for storing their Ethereum. Coinbase is one of the biggest names and has users from all across the globe. The support for Ethereum was recently introduced. Coinbase allows you to create an Ethereum wallet on their platform and transfer ETH to and from other wallets. Coinbase also has an Android and an iOS app which makes it quite convenient to use. It is simple, secure and easy to use. Coinbase is one of the best solutions for those who are not trading in a high amount or are trading for a short term. However, the biggest drawback that this Ethereum wallet has is the fact that the private key will be stored with Coinbase’s servers and if they are hacked your currency might be at a risk. Moreover, Coinbase also has a e-mail registration process which requires some personal information from the users. Jaxx Wallet Type: Desktop, Web and Mobile Jaxx is a multi-platform wallet which can be accessed on Desktops, Mobile Phones as well as on the web though it has primarily been developed for phones. Jaxx offers a high amount of security because it does not store your private keys. Not only is Jaxx an Ethereum wallet, but it also supports a number of other cryptocurrencies. One of the best things about the Jaxx wallet is the fact that it supports multiple platforms. It has a desktop version for Windows, Mac and Linux, it supports iOS as well as Android and also comes as a web extension for Google Chrome and Firefox. The wallet also supports smart contracts and is high on privacy as it does not require any personal information or registration! ETHAddress Wallet Type: Paper Wallet Paper Wallets are also considered highly secure because your public key as well as your private key remains in your physical possession on a piece of paper. ETHAddress is the perfect paper wallet for storing Ethereum. Moreover, the private keys can be further encrypted for additional privacy. Paper wallets are very basic but highly secure. For anyone looking for an Ethereum Wallet that offers the bare minimums in terms of functionality but high on privacy and security - this is the wallet that you should be looking at! Exodus Wallet Type: Desktop Wallet Exodus is perhaps the most easy to use Ethereum wallet. This is primarily because of its UI which is simple to understand and shows stats in charts, etc. The graphical representation of data that this wallet does is simply brilliant - making it one of the best desktop wallets. It supports multiple currencies including Ethereum. Exodus also allows users to exchange cryptocurrencies. The wallet is high on security as well. Since it is a desktop wallet, your private keys remain stored on your PC and there’s no risk of losing them. It also has other features such as one-click recovery, etc. which makes it pretty useful as well as easy to use. Easily the best desktop wallet for Ethereum. The only drawback here is that Exodus requires your personal e-mail and always needs to be connected to the internet. KeepKey Wallet Type: Hardware Wallet KeepKey is another popular hardware wallet used by many cryptocurrency users. It is another great Ethereum Wallet and supports many other currencies as well. The KeepKey wallet costs more than Trezor and Ledger Nano S but also has a bigger screen and a bigger body. While it carries a premium look and feel to it - the device is actually made of plastic, making it more prone to accidental damage. KeepKey however, is quite secure and privacy centric, as you’d expect a hardware wallet to be. Your Ethereum can be stored here without any worries of your keys getting hacked or stolen. Metamask Wallet Type: Desktop Wallet Last but not the least, Metamask is one of the best Ethereum Wallets of 2018. This wallet offers the users with an easy to use design. It comes with Firefox and Chrome extensions and stores your private keys on your PC - ensuring they are secure. Moreover, the Metamask wallet also provides access to decentralized applications on the Ethereum network. Experienced users can easily switch between the test networks and the main Ethereum network. Moreover, using the Metamask wallet does not require any registration or personal information either. Choosing the Best Ethereum Wallet Now that you know the top 10 Ethereum Wallets of 2018 - you now have the choice to select the ones that suit your needs the best. The best way to choose the Ethereum Wallet that works out for you is first deciding on which platforms are you comfortable with. You then need to decide how comfortable you are while sharing your private information with a wallet. The best Ethereum Wallet is basically one that meets all your needs and offers you a peace of mind! The most important thing that you need to consider is the way your keys are stored - if you don’t mind storing your keys on a third party server then a web-wallet might do the trick for you. However, if you are a high-value trader, you might want to use a hardware wallet to save your Ethereum at.
