titleBoycott Lyft & Uber - These Apps Charge Their Riders More and Pay Their Drivers Less Every Month
bodyTL;DR - Uber and Lyft are both guilty of overcharging passengers and underpaying drivers. Please stop using these services. Uber and Lyft have become very popular services especially among those who are out for a night of drinking. These services have also become popular amongst people looking for supplemental income or those between jobs. Both services offer sign-on bonuses in certain cities as well as incentivized bonuses for completing certain numbers of rides under specific circumstances. But before we start discussing bonuses, it is probably better to start with an explanation of how each platform pays their drivers: When I signed up for Uber in fall of 2017, both apps were taking a fee of about $2.00 off the initial fare. Then they were to take 20% of whatever is left. The driver takes home the rest plus 100% of the tip. It was a fair payment system. If the rider got charged a surge fee, we would collect 80% of that as a surge bonus. The apps got their 20%, which is arguably a lot of money considering Entertainment managers and agents are known to take about 10-15%. Back in 2017, the bonuses offered to drivers were also fairly plentiful. There were a number of ways to earn extra bonuses. The most well-known bonus on the Lyft app was the power driver bonus. This bonus was offered to drivers that kept a 90% acceptance rate as well as completing some number of rides throughout the week. There were 3 tiers for this bonus. The first tier would be about 20 rides, earning drivers an extra $35. The second tier was approximately 40 rides, earning drivers somewhere around $100 extra. The final tier was approximately 80 rides and this would earn the driver an extra $260. I don't think anyone would argue that this was unfair for the drivers. It was actually one of the reasons I started driving for Lyft. This bonus made driving for Lyft more lucrative than driving for Uber and made the entire ordeal worth my time. Sometime in 2018, the app started to increase the number of rides required to earn a power driver bonus and decreased the reward. It was no longer worth it to try to give over 100 rides per week just to earn an extra $150. That is what was being offered but they justified this action by introducing something called a streak bonus. The streak bonus would only be given to drivers that gave 3-5 rides in a row, earning them an extra $2-3 per ride. This was basically an incentive to stay on one app and to not drive for another. Both apps started giving out this bonus, however Uber changed it to a specific number of rides in a given time range rather than forcing you to give these rides consecutively. About halfway through 2018, Lyft got rid of the power driver bonus altogether and also got rid of primetime bonuses. A lot of drivers protested in forums. Uber kept their surge bonuses but Lyft introduced a "test" to about half of the drivers in a few specific cities. I happened to be one of the test subjects, against my will. The test was to introduce "heat maps" and "bonus zones" instead of primetime pricing. The apps were still charging riders primetime pricing but now they would pay their drivers a capped dollar value on top of each ride. Here is some math to explain how that works. A bonus zone would have a dollar value of maybe $5. If you drive into this zone, you will get $5 on your next ride. As you wait for a ride, this value will increase until it hits $10. If you are to get a ride, $10 will now be added onto your ride. Let's say you pick someone up and they want you to drive them 25 miles. This person could be paying 4x the normal cost depending on where they got picked up or after what event. They would be paying for a 100 mile ride. Normally, the driver would then be paid for 80% of this which comes out to 80 miles. Not anymore. With this new bonus, the driver would still only be paid for a 25 mile ride, 80% of it actually, so the driver gets paid for 20 miles plus $10. You could have paid over $100 for the ride, the driver would get paid around $30. Lyft would then pocket $70 or 70% of the ride fare. Obviously, this was very maddening for a lot of the drivers. Especially drivers that had been putting in hard working hours for these companies over multi-year periods. Imagine working for a company for many years and instead of getting a raise, they decide to cut your pay by 50%. That is essentially how Lyft treats their drivers. Uber never took part in any of these tactics until December 24th, 2018. The day before Christmas, Uber decided to give their drivers a new bonus offering as a Christmas gift. It was exactly the same as Heat maps on Lyft. Pretty much the Grinch-iest thing any corporation could possibly do. So while customers were being charged 5x on New Years for rides out of downtown areas, the platforms were throwing their drivers an extra $5-15 and pocketing the rest. They stood to make millions of extra dollars this way. And they did. Drivers were paid on average 50% less than they were paid last year. I personally drove for 10 hours on New Years from 6pm until 4am and I made less money than I made driving for 2 hours last year. Lyft partook in some even worse practices on New Years by trying to undercut the competition. They engaged in a practice called "price gauging" by offering riders extremely low prices to their riders on New Years. The way they were able to do this is by not offering drivers any primetime or heat map bonuses at all. A lot of passengers noticed that Lyft drivers were cancelling rides or not accepting them at all because Uber was paying out better bonuses - which were still far less than riders were paying. One of my passengers thanked me because she'd been cancelled on 6 times. While Uber was charging 5x for rides from the downtown area of Nashville, Lyft started charging riders regular fare. While drivers gave up their holiday and didn't drink to get Lyft passengers home safe, they were repaid by having to sit in some of the worst traffic of the year for regular rate pay on the Lyft app or for a few extra dollars on the Uber app. This is the last straw for me and probably for a lot of drivers. I will no longer be driving for these apps after a year of 50+ hr weeks of dedicated driving. I have given over 2000 rides and have an average rating of 4.95/5. The apps do not care about their customers, they don't care about their drivers, they only care about pocketing as much money as possible. And they did this very unethically by ringing in as many people as they can, getting people used to using these apps, and then changing the pricing and the way they pay out once people are already comfortable using them. This is how drug dealers operate. You are hooked on something, the price goes up over time and you feel you need it. You don't. You got around before Uber and Lyft existed and you should get around without them this year. You shouldn't use services that don't pay their employees well. And if you absolutely insist on using them, you should be tipping your driver. People will jump in front of cars and off bridges to make sure that people tip their waiter/waitress 20% for serving you other people's food. Uber and Lyft drivers are expected to usher you around in their own vehicle, risking their property and their life - if that doesn't deserve as much tip as a waiter/waitress in your mind, you need to rethink things. One of my passengers on New Years got in my car, bragged about having just tipped her waitress $100 for an $80 meal and then literally did not even give me a tip for getting her home safely. Please boycott Uber and Lyft - stop allowing them to overcharge passengers and underpay drivers.

But before we start discussing bonuses, it is probably better to start with an explanation of how each platform pays their drivers: \n\nWhen I signed up for Uber in fall of 2017, both apps were taking a fee of about $2.00 off the initial fare. \n\n\nBack in 2017, the bonuses offered to drivers were also fairly plentiful. \n\nSometime in 2018, the app started to increase the number of rides required to earn a power driver bonus and decreased the reward. \n\nAbout halfway through 2018, Lyft got rid of the power driver bonus altogether and also got rid of primetime bonuses. A lot of drivers protested in forums. Uber kept their surge bonuses but Lyft introduced a \"test\" to about half of the drivers in a few specific cities. I happened to be one of the test subjects, against my will. The test was to introduce \"heat maps\" and \"bonus zones\" instead of primetime pricing. \n\nUber never took part in any of these tactics until December 24th, 2018. \n\nLyft partook in some even worse practices on New Years by trying to undercut the competition. They engaged in a practice called \"price gauging\" by offering riders extremely low prices to their riders on New Years. \n\nThis is the last straw for me and probably for a lot of drivers. \n\nThis is how drug dealers operate. \n\nPlease boycott Uber and Lyft - stop allowing them to overcharge passengers and underpay drivers.",

bodyThis being 4 months old It almost saddens me to see i'm the first to vote and comment on it! Great job for asking questions and finding the holes. I decided to invest in a small couple of rigs to get the return quicker and have been learning as much as possible. Considering at the time you wrote this I was just deciding to buy a miner. Its little tid bits like this sprinkled from guys like us around the web that really make the difference in the educating we get in this space. Anyway thanks for heads up, ill check out the flypool now, I have been using claymore with ether on nano pool. I have been happy with their payouts and graphs ect. Any other suggestions now that the time has passed? Hows the mining treating you ?

titleVery Successful Comedian Stephen Spinola Has Unusually Large Cock
body<html> <p>You might remember <a href="https://www.stephenspinola.com">Stephen Spinola </a>from his <a href="https://www.twitter.com/Mr_McStevie">tweets</a> about Barron Trump earlier this year. Those were very funny tweets. And screw anyone who thinks otherwise. He got hundreds of death threats for those tweets. Maybe thousands. Whatever the case may be, it doesn't matter because Stephen Spinola has an unusually large penis. You read it here, in an article, on a blog site - thus, it must be true. Having an unusually large penis is actually painful. Not only for Stephen but for all the women he has slept with. <br> <br> If you'd like to see Stephen tell jokes on stage with his unusually large penis tucked well into his pants as deemed publicly appropriate, follow him on twitter and tell your local comedy clubs about his unusually large painful penis. Enjoy your day. Thanks for reading.&nbsp;</p> </html>

titleWhy is there so much Rape in Comedy?
body<html> <p><img src="https://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/drunken-peasants-podcast/images/1/17/Cosby.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150809032019" width="1218" height="834"/><br> <br> The question is a bit more serious than it may seem. At first, one might think the question was, "Why do comedians joke about rape so much?" But that is not the question. The answer to that question is simple. Rape is a very serious topic and comedians take it as a challenge to trivialize and make fun of the worst most complex things in life as a way to make people feel less threatened by them. The other reason being that most of them never experience it as a real thing in their life - if they knew how serious it was in real life, they might not joke about it so much. Then there are the people that have experienced the worst of it and they have no feeling left - all they can do is talk about it.&nbsp;</p> <p><img src="https://foodandland.files.wordpress.com/2014/10/jianghomeshi.png?w=625" width="293" height="288"/></p> <p>The question that is being asked now is, "Why are so many comedians turning out to be rapists?" It's been happening for a while. Since before a lot of us were born. Rape has been happening since before any of us were born. But rape in the stand up comedy world seems to be more prevalent than ever. Just a few years ago, the Bill Cosby controversy began when he was called out on stage by another comedian, Hannibal Burress (See here: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzB8dTVALQI">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzB8dTVALQI</a>). But he is not the first comedian to be called out for rape. Especially not the first entertainer. Some recent comedy related entertainers that have been accused of rape are Jian Ghomeshi and Jimmy Savile, not to mention even Louis CK has been accused of masturbating in front of other non-consenting female road comics.&nbsp;</p> <p><img src="http://3g28wn33sno63ljjq514qr87.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Screen-Shot-2015-06-01-at-2.03.02-PM.png"/><img src="http://static.deathandtaxesmag.com/uploads/2015/05/Louis-C.K.-640x385.jpg" width="640" height="385"/></p> <p>The craziest part of all of this - none of the people I've mentioned so far have been convicted of rape or sexual assault, being acquitted of all charges so far. Jimmy Savile died before his accusations came out. But is this all happening because powerful stars are unable to control their urges for lesser famous comics/actresses/fans? I don't think that's the only reason. Because we see sexual assault all the time in the lower levels of comedy as well. There was an instance of a lesser famous headliner somewhere in the mid United States that was accused of assaulting a female waitress at a club. No criminal charges were filed, which is why I couldn't call this sicko out by name. I just remember it being passed around the comedy community via facebook and seeing that he was still working other clubs even though people were passing this stuff around. There is the situation with DSI Comedy owner Zach Ward (see here: <a href="http://www.heraldsun.com/news/local/counties/orange-county/article159897244.html">http://www.heraldsun.com/news/local/counties/orange-county/article159897244.html</a>) who has now stepped down amongst allegations that he was "mistreating" female comedians/employees. There was Aaron Glaser of UCB theater in NYC who was running independent bar shows and stuff at UCB theater until 2016 even though people were accusing him of rape since 2010. UCB knew about rape allegations against someone working for them for 5 -6 years before doing anything about it. There was the owner of The Experimental Comedy Gallery in Brooklyn who raped an open mic comedian about a year after the venue opened. There are just so many rapists in comedy.&nbsp;</p> <p><img src="https://www.louderwithcrowder.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/aaronglaserrapeaccusation-1024x535.jpg" width="1024" height="535"/></p> <p>And among the several others that have been accused recently is Rebecca Rush. A female comedian being accused of raping another female comedian. The allegations are that she used fake profiles, told open mic female comics that she was the creator of a Comedy Festival, used a fake name possibly, got someone very drunk, had her way with her by inserting at least a finger (because there was allegedly a piece of a fingernail found in her vagina upon inspection), and then stole the victim's xanax before fleeing the scene. Now, let me start by saying that I don't know Rebecca very well. I've only had 3 interactions with her and I've seen her 5 times in person. First time, we did a show together and didn't speak - however, she was on stage calling out a comedy club owner/booker that I know personally for sexually assaulting her. The backstory to that is basically that they were dating and she says he tried to rape her in a bathroom when they broke up but she was able to fight him off - all heresy and no evidence plus no charges. I never stopped working with that guy because he books me, he's never done anything I would consider inappropriate in front of me, and I didn't know her well enough to know what to believe at the time. Now, at this point, I truly believe she was making it all up - but again I have no idea. Second time, we were talking in a circle and she acted like she didn't remember me from the show we did the week before - it seemed like she knew who I was and was clearly pretending. Then we did a show together that I hosted in which all the comedians take acid and/or mushrooms. Everyone gets pretty fucked up but it is an unforgettable experience. It's a packed show at the Creek and the Cave in NYC - and we usually have some special guests (past ones have included James Adomian as Bernie Sanders and TJ Miller as himself was on the show I'm currently describing.). Rebecca acted strangely toward me again at this show - before the show I explained that I wrote parody songs that had the performer's names in them and that I was going to use the songs to introduce each performer - she was like the 5th act so she'd seen me do it for 4 other people, she still acted like I never told her about it and had no idea what was going on. She had a very mediocre to okay set and we have video evidence to prove it. I mention that only because I've heard other people say that she goes around saying that she was the "only performer who could handle her drugs and had the best set on the show." BS. Then about a month later, I actually saw her standing outside the Experimental Comedy Rape Factory and I started having a conversation with her and some other person. We were smoking a joint. And then at some point it was just us. And she asks me, "Do I know you?" I was blown away. I walked away from her and the next times I saw her in the distance, I legitimately avoided her. She was clearly doing that to make me feel a certain way and I didn't like it. Then someone told me that she's an alcoholic and a pill popper and she probably really had no idea who I was. Either way, I don't want people like that in my life. Then my roommate was booked on one of her shows and she bumped him because he wouldn't sell her xanax. So do I have any idea if she's a rapist? No. Do I think she probably did whatever she is being accused of? Yes. But that is just my opinion. All I know is that she is clearly a shitty person and she comes off as a complete maniacal sociopath in this video where she talks about being accused (and in a lot of ways incriminates herself even more. Like when she says that someone who invited her to a nude beach wanted to be prayed on. You can decide for yourself. See here: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NG4PkXddQyA">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NG4PkXddQyA</a>). I feel terribly that there is a person that feels they were assaulted, even if they weren't, and I feel terribly that this shitty person has to deal with this situation if she didn't do. If she did it, well, I hope she gets charged because she would be the first I'm aware of to actually be punished in an instance of comedy rape.</p> <p><img src="https://www.keithandthegirl.com/guests/pics/processed/rebeccarush-200x200.jpg" width="200" height="200"/></p> <p>There are so many comics that I've looked up to and when I hang out with them, I realize that they couldn't give one single shit about me or friendship - they are scoping out mates. I got to hang out with Joe List one time. Back when he was still drinking. Now he's sober. He was in Montreal headlining the Comedy Works back in 2012. After the Saturday late show, we were drinking and smoking weed and hanging out, can't remember how much of what he took part in. What I do remember is that he got hungry and wanted me to take him to the nearest McDonalds. In that McDonalds, Joe List hit on and verbally assaulted every single person (man or woman) to enter that McDonald's as he waited for his Big Mac. Now, I'm not saying Joe List is a bad person. He was actually really funny and cool and he didn't cross any lines of the law or even really any societal boundaries that night. Nobody in the McDonald's was angered by his actions. Most of the females he spoke to thought it was extremely funny. But he was definitely acting like a degenerate. A very funny degenerate. Had he gone just a bit further, and physically grabbed someone or blacked out and did something obscene - then I could see there being an issue. I would have been hanging out with a bad guy. It was that fine line, which he didn't cross, that made everything okay. He's doing very well in his career by the way and you should check out his podcast (See here: <a href="https://soundcloud.com/tuesdays_with_stories">https://soundcloud.com/tuesdays_with_stories</a>).</p> <p><img src="https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/756377379556040705/ikUtISos_400x400.jpg" width="397" height="397"/></p> <p>But all of this comes down to the point that comedians like to live on the edge and act like degenerates most of the time, and the rest of the comedy world is filled with hopeful dreamers that just want a little piece of stardom and will do anything to get it. This is a perfect mix of predators and prey. However, it's really only perfect for the predators. Most of the prey that do try to come forward with allegations against their rapists find themselves coming up empty handed at the ends of trials where everyone seems to be getting acquitted and the rest don't even bother because it is more of a hassle than it is productive. Some people feel like if they come forward with information like that against someone that is more famous than them that it will somehow hurt their career.&nbsp;</p> <p><br></p> <p>So what's the solution? There is really only one solution, at the individual level of course - in which you can just not be a creep and don't assault anyone. Keep up the good work if you've already been doing that. Comedians being respectful is not something that I see enough. But that doesn't fix the fact that you can't control other people and the entertainment industry, especially the comedy world, is a scary place full of creeps. I think more people should go to the police about assaults. I think more rapists should be punished for the awful things they put people through. The only thing tougher than being sexually assaulted has to be watching your assaulter achieve success and stardom while you get stuck doing open mics and bar shows.&nbsp;</p> </html>

Then there are the people that have experienced the worst of it and they have no feeling left - all they can do is talk about it.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://foodandland.files.wordpress.com/2014/10/jianghomeshi.png?w=625\" width=\"293\" height=\"288\"/></p>\n<p>The question that is being asked now is, \"Why are so many comedians turning out to be rapists?\" It's been happening for a while. Since before a lot of us were born. Rape has been happening since before any of us were born. But rape in the stand up comedy world seems to be more prevalent than ever. Just a few years ago, the Bill Cosby controversy began when he was called out on stage by another comedian, Hannibal Burress (See here: <a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzB8dTVALQI\">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzB8dTVALQI</a>). But he is not the first comedian to be called out for rape. Especially not the first entertainer. Some recent comedy related entertainers that have been accused of rape are Jian Ghomeshi and Jimmy Savile, not to mention even Louis CK has been accused of masturbating in front of other non-consenting female road comics.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><img src=\"http://3g28wn33sno63ljjq514qr87.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Screen-Shot-2015-06-01-at-2.03.02-PM.png\"/><img src=\"http://static.deathandtaxesmag.com/uploads/2015/05/Louis-C.K.-640x385.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"385\"/></p>\n<p>The craziest part of all of this - none of the people I've mentioned so far have been convicted of rape or sexual assault, being acquitted of all charges so far. There is the situation with DSI Comedy owner Zach Ward (see here: <a href=\"http://www.heraldsun.com/news/local/counties/orange-county/article159897244.html\">http://www.heraldsun.com/news/local/counties/orange-county/article159897244.html</a>) who has now stepped down amongst allegations that he was \"mistreating\" female comedians/employees. There are just so many rapists in comedy.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://www.louderwithcrowder.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/aaronglaserrapeaccusation-1024x535.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"535\"/></p>\n<p>And among the several others that have been accused recently is Rebecca Rush. I mention that only because I've heard other people say that she goes around saying that she was the \"only performer who could handle her drugs and had the best set on the show.\" BS. Then about a month later, I actually saw her standing outside the Experimental Comedy Rape Factory and I started having a conversation with her and some other person. We were smoking a joint. And then at some point it was just us. And she asks me, \"Do I know you?\" I was blown away. See here: <a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NG4PkXddQyA\">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NG4PkXddQyA</a>). I feel terribly that there is a person that feels they were assaulted, even if they weren't, and I feel terribly that this shitty person has to deal with this situation if she didn't do. If she did it, well, I hope she gets charged because she would be the first I'm aware of to actually be punished in an instance of comedy rape.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://www.keithandthegirl.com/guests/pics/processed/rebeccarush-200x200.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\"/></p>\n<p>There are so many comics that I've looked up to and when I hang out with them, I realize that they couldn't give one single shit about me or friendship - they are scoping out mates. He's doing very well in his career by the way and you should check out his podcast (See here: <a href=\"https://soundcloud.com/tuesdays_with_stories\">https://soundcloud.com/tuesdays_with_stories</a>).</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/756377379556040705/ikUtISos_400x400.jpg\" width=\"397\" height=\"397\"/></p>\n<p>But all of this comes down to the point that comedians like to live on the edge and act like degenerates most of the time, and the rest of the comedy world is filled with hopeful dreamers that just want a little piece of stardom and will do anything to get it. Some people feel like if they come forward with information like that against someone that is more famous than them that it will somehow hurt their career.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>So what's the solution? There is really only one solution, at the individual level of course - in which you can just not be a creep and don't assault anyone. Keep up the good work if you've already been doing that. Comedians being respectful is not something that I see enough. But that doesn't fix the fact that you can't control other people and the entertainment industry, especially the comedy world, is a scary place full of creeps. I think more people should go to the police about assaults. I think more rapists should be punished for the awful things they put people through. The only thing tougher than being sexually assaulted has to be watching your assaulter achieve success and stardom while you get stuck doing open mics and bar shows.&nbsp;</p>\n</html>",
