      "body": "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rCSSGcK8LY \n\nWelcome back to CraveThatCoin,\n\nI'm sure that you are aware by now that the Bitconnect platform is over and the owners appear to have exit scammed. \n\nFirstly I would like to say that I feel sorry for anyone who has lost money with Bitconnect. If you have lost money stay strong and you will come back from this experience and have a more skeptical mind going forward. I feel mostly for those who invested money they could not afford to loose, for example I read a comments from many people saying they have gone all in with Bitconnect.\n\nAs you know I made some videos on Bitconnect sharing my concerns. These videos got so much hate which is completely fine, I was confident that my concerns were worth raising and that has now been confirmed. I make videos to share my opinions on what I'm passionate about which is investing and saving money, I don't care about views, likes, money or anything like that. If my videos resulted in even a few people deciding not to invest in Bitconnect then I personally feel great about that and I am thankful for this platform.\n\nI always understood that the hate my videos got was largely due to people seeing Bitconnect as a way out of the 9-5 rat race with hopes of financial freedom. By being skeptical of Bitconnect I was effectually seen as a enemy by those who believed that it would change their life as falsely advertised by Crypto Nick, Craig Grant and others. Although Bitconnect wasn't the answer I urge you not to give up in your search for this goal. I have achieved some level of financial freedom thanks to a online business I started in 2009. I'm certainly not a millionaire but I have created a life that allows me to pick and choose when I work, where I work and I very much enjoy what I'm doing. It took hundreds of sleepless nights and having no social life for years along with a obsessive desire to be successful for that to happen. The good news is that although the cryptocurrency market is seeing a massive decline right now it will likely create hundreds of thousands of millionaires throughout the world in 2018 as the market begins to stabilise. Bitconnect may have been a scam but in my opinion cryptocurrencies as a whole are here to stay and this market will create opportunities that have the power to change lives. I'm going a bit off track here, but what I'm trying to say is if you looked at Bitconnect as a way to financial freedom don't give up. There has never before been a time in human history where there has been so much opportunity to become wealthy or create your dream life. \n\nI certainly did not expect or predict that Bitconnect would close in such a short time. But I was certain that with a crashing Bitcoin price it would test Bitconnects sustainability like we have never seen before. Loan behold as soon as the Bitcoin price started crashing Bitconnect run into problems and eventually closing down completely. I was not smart enough to have predicted it going down as rapidly as it did but I also did not expect it to last as it has been. I expected  that as Bitconnect became unsustainable such as from this crashing Bitcoin price they would change to tiny interest rates such as 0.001%. \n\nMy biggest concern with Bitconnect which I shared in my first video was the huge contrast between interest and affiliate earnings when looking at large Youtubers such as Crypto Nick, Glen Acaro & trevon James. They were all talking about how Bitconnect has changed their lives without their actual investment making any return. All of their money came from referrals, they were effectivly false advertising. Another concern was of course Bitcoin's rapid price rise since the creation of Bitconnect. Looking back it's now clear that the only reason Bitconnect was able to pay the interest was because the value of Bitcoin was increasing more than 1% per day over this period. I showed this in my video looking at Trevon James's capital release and how he lost over $34,000 in Bitcoin value over 6 months. I was extremely skeptical about the compound interest side of Bitconnect calling it fantasy money in many comments. So many youtubers convinced people to invest based on their spreadsheets showing how a $100 investment would turn into $1,000,000 in 5 years for example. If Bitconnect ever did last 5 year it would never have been with their 1% interest rate. Another thing that concerned me was their press conference, it had such a ponzi and multi level marketing feel about it with the awarding of the top promotors. The cringy Bitconnect song and even worse the demo of the cardboard ATM and huge Bitconnect card didn't help eleveate my concerns.\n\nIt's also very ironic that one of the large promoters Glenn Acaro deleted his Youtube channel a couple of weeks ago. He also run a 1 million dollar giveaway for those who invested using his referral link. In other words he gave away 1 million dollars in return for investing using his referral link in a platform which he knew was likely about to exit scam. Another sign was over the last couple of weeks so many Youtubers stated to distance themselves from Bitconnect. Including Trevon James who said he would stop creating videos on Bitconnect. Also the price and timing of their ICO would suggest to me that Bitconnect were simply trying to get as much money as possible before closing down. They stated that a reason for them closing was because of the bad press they received, if you will believe that you will believe anything. Another reason they stated was due to DDoS attacks but for a company of their size prior to the crash they could have easily hired the best server admins in the world. Although the coin is still tradable it will become completely worthless, it's only still available as a way for Bitconnect to try and look like they haven't done anything wrong. \n\nHinsight is easy which is making this video hard to create. But I feel like after all the hate my videos got I at least deserve the right to pat myself on the back for exposing some of concerns I had with the platform. And hopefully stopping at least a few people from deciding to invest. I feel sorry for anyone who lost money with Bitconnect but I am happy that Bitconnect is done for the sake of cryptocurrency going forward. I also want to add that I am very disappointed that Cryptonick and Trevon James's new videos have shown that they are not taking any responsibility for their actions. \n\n\n\n\nAs for the results of my own small investment with Bitconnect it turned out to be a dreadful investment and represents what the average Bitconnect user would have experienced. From my initial 0.07 Bitcoin investment I got back only 0.03 for a loss of 0.033 Bitcoin with a value of £292. \n\nTo put it in perspective for my 0.07 Bitcoin investment I got back only 0.002 as a capital release due to the rapid crash of the value of the Bitconnect coin. \n\nBitconnct was a ponzi scheme from the start and I am personally glad that I tried to express my concerns. Crypto nick, Trevon James, Craig Grant and Glen Acaro are laughing their way to the bank while the average person who invested in Bitconnect has lost money.",

I compare investing in Bitconnect with holding Bitcoin and the results provide some surprises both good and bad.\n\nTranscript:\n\nWelcome back to CraveThatCoin,\n\nIn my last video I looked at the capital release of Bitconnect showing how much value was lost VS holding Bitcoin. This was due to the rapid rise of Bitcoin over the last 6 months. Meaning you will get a lot less BTC from the capital release than you first put in, even though the $ amount is the same.\n\nAs it was Trevon’s investment there was no way for me to know what interest payments he made on that loan. Making it impossible to find out if his investment was good or bad in terms of Bitcoin invested VS gained.\n\nSo for this video I have analysed my own investment in Bitconnect. I’m going to show you a real example of what you can expect from Bitconnect without referrals. I invested in Bitconnect 3 months ago, so I am currently half way to capital release.\n\nBefore I jump into the results keep in mind that I’m from the UK. My Exodus wallet will show the values in £ while Bitconnect will show the values in $. The figures are 99% accurate with some leeway for exchange rates. Somehow I made 1 referral for a total of $8.50 commission which won’t have a big impact on the results. Also keep in mind that I am not a financial advisor and this video is not financial advice, I’m just a guy sharing my experience with Bitconnect. Also I’m proud to say that you won’t find a Bitconnect referral link from me, I have no interest in making money from my viewers should you choose to invest. Bitconnect is and always will be high risk no matter what anyone else says so I refuse to promote it. If you want to support this channel you will find a selection of services which I do recommend in the description below.\n\nNow on to my investment with Bitconnect.\n\nOn the 12th of August this year I invested £89.15. This was 0.03 Bitcoin at the time, here is a look at the transaction in Bitconnect and in Exodus.\n\nOn the 13th of October I invested a further £169.61 which was a 0.04 Bitcoin deposit. And here is a look at the transaction in Bitconnect and again in Exodus.\n\nThis brings my total investment in Bitconnect to £258.76 ($330) for a total of 0.07 Bitcoin. Had I held the 0.07 Bitcoin and not invested, at the time of this video it would be worth £874.33. This is why it’s very important that you focus on the Bitcoin invested VS gained and not just the $ amount when analysing your investment. I recommend watching my Bitconnect capital release video for an idea of how devastating this can be in some cases. In that video I look at Trevon James’s $5010 capital release which would today be worth $34,800.\n\nNow lets go ahead and look at my interest withdrawals. As my investment amount in Bitconnect is reatlively low it takes over a week to surpass the minimums to be able to withdraw my interest. This is great for the purpose of this video as I can easily show you all of my withdrawals over the last 3 months to give you a accurate representation of this platform.\n\nOn the 6th October I made my first withdrawal from the accumulated interest. This totalled £18.23 or 0.0053 Bitcoin\n\nOn the 26th I withdrew £24.87 or 0.0056 Bitcoin\n\nOn the 6th of November I withdrew £29.43 or 0.0053 Bitcoin\n\nOn the 16th I withdrew £31.20 or 0.0055 Bitcoin\n\nOn the 29th I made my biggest withdrawal to date of £39.83 or 0.0053 Bitcoin\n\nAnd my latest withdrawal of £14.85 or 0.0013 Bitcoin on the 9th of December.\n\nThese are my total withdrawals 3 months into my 6 months investment. A total of £158.41 at the time of withdrawal or 0.0286 Bitcoin. It’s important to note that the Bitcoin is now worth £354.47 so my withdrawals have benefited from the Bitcoin rise in value.\n\nI won’t get my capital release until the end of my investment in 3 months time. So to see where my investment stands right now I have added the capital release based on todays Bitcoin price.\n\nCapital release 1 of £89.15 totals 0.007199 Bitcoin.\n\nCapital release 2 of £169.61 totals 0.013688 Bitcoin\n\nThis brings my total investment return 3 months in using the interest + capital to 0.04951639 Bitcoin. This has a value today of £613.74.\n\nAs you remember my initial investment in Bitconnect was 0.07 Bitcoin and I’ve made back 0.04951639 so far. So I have 0.02048361 less Bitcoin than before my investment 3 months ago. This is 29% less Bitcoin that I invested. If I had simply held the 0.07 Bitcoin it would now be worth £867.62 so compared to holding the Bitcoin my investment is at -£253.88.\n\nBefore I analogised the figures in detail I knew that this would be the case. Which is why i said the Bitcoin increase in value is a risk to investing with Bitconnect. But I also made back more BTC than I expected to and with another 3 months of my investment I believe I will end up with more Bitcoin than the 0.07 invested. If you ask me was it worth it over simply holding Bitcoin so far I would say no as I have taken risk and 3 months in I have not made even £1 of real profit. if I had held Bitcoin I would be better off at this stage and would have full control over the Bitcoin to either invest it in other coins or even invest in ICOs for a much greater potential return.\n\nDuring my investment on the 25th October the Bitcoin Gold hard fork happened. That means I missed out on 0.07 Bitcoin Gold which has a current value of £24.74. That brings the total loss from my Bitconnect investment so far to -£278.62. If I invested before the Bitcoin Cash fork as many people have the loss would be much greater. as 0.07 Bitcoin Cash is currently worth £212.96. This is important to keep in mind as there is more forks planned for the near future. Who knows how valuable some of these coins could be. When you invest in Bitconnect during a fork you are giving them the free hard forked coins. Imagine how much money they made from Bitcoin Cash with their users Bitcoin deposits.\n\nIf you invest in Bitconnect your money is tied up. You have no control over it for 6 months VS holding Bitcoin of which you would benefit from free hard forked coins such as Bitcoin Cash. You would also have the freedom to invest in and out of alt coins and invest in ICOs.\n\nTo sum up my thoughts on this video. My investment in Bitconnect in another 3 months time will likely total some kind of return. But 3 months in to my investment i am down £278.62 over simply holding Bitcoin. I’ve given up control of my Bitcoin invested, taken a lot of risk and time in withdrawing and recording my payouts. The reality is that based on all of the hype sorounding this platform most would expect any investment in Bitconnect to bring some return in 3 months. In this video I have shown a real example of a 3 month Bitconnect investment sitting at a loss compared with holding Bitcoin. I think the results of this video will shock some people who are simply looking at the $ amount invested VS returned and not looking at the Bitcoin value and benefits that come from holding it.\n\nIt’s certainly true that no one could have predicted the rapid rise of Bitcoin this year. That is completely true but it doesn’t change the facts that Bitconnect has been a bad investment 3 months in. Half way through my investment and not a single £ in profit compared to if I held Bitcoin.\n\nSome people have commented on my last video saying they use Bitconnect to diversify which is completely understandable. I just worry about the many people who go all in with Bitconnect after watching so many of the hype videos out there.\n\nIf you invest in Bitconnect when Bitcoin is at a all time high and the price crashes then you may see a greater return of Bitcoin than you put in. This was actually the reason why I dedicated to invest in Bitconnect, I expected the price of Bitcoin to crash but it continued to rise since my investment. With that said a crash in the Bitcoin price puts Bitconnect in unseen territory which is why I only invested a small amount, we have not seen how and if they would survive if the Bitcoin price crashed 30, 40%. This would force them to pay out more BTC for every payment. where as currently as shown with my investment they are able to pay out less BTC overtime due to the huge increase in Bitcoin price. This may be why Bitconnect has effortlessly been able to survive so far.\n\nThe power of Bitconnect could lie in using it as a hedge against a falling Bitcoin price. As long as Bitconnect is as stable as people say it is. And it is able to maintain similar interest rates it could be a good investment in that scenario. As the Bitcoin price is correcting at the time of this video it may bode well for my investment. Over the next 3 months I should get a higher amount of Bitcoin than the first 3 months.\n\nI hope you found this video useful and please remember that I am not trying to put you off Bitconnect. I am simply showing you a side of the investment that many of the big promoters won’t. How the massive increase in Bitcoin price has had a big impact on the Bitconnect invested amount over time.\n\nTranscript:\n\nWelcome back to CraveThatCoin,\n\nFirst of all I would like to thank each and every one of you who watched my last video on Bitconnect, it far exceeded my expectations reaching over 10,000 views in just 2 week.\n\nIn this video I’m going to raise something that no one is paying attention to, this is going to shock many and upset even more but unlike some youtubers I refuse to promote Bitconnect and profit from my viewers risk. You will not find any referral link from me. I’d rather look at Bitconnect without any bias and try and work out if its the amazing investment everyone claims.\n\nWhen you invest in Bitconnect the value of your Bitcoin at the time is converted into to $. They then use your $ investment to invest in the cryptocurrency market using their trading bot. They then share profits with you in the form of interest much like a conventional bank does. However, unlike a conventional bank they pay you daily interest which averages out to be around 1%, this is unheard of in conventional investments and is what makes Bitconnect so appealing to many. After around 6 months depending on your investment amount, Bitconnect will pay you back your initial $ investment. This is known as capital release. This is a big stand out feature of Bitconnect as people see it as a lower risk investment as you get your initial capital back.\n\nNow you know how Bitconnect works let’s move on.\n\nYesterday our good friend Trevon James post a video about his first Bitconnect capital release. I am going to show you some quick maths behind this and you can decide for yourself whether or not Bitconnect has been a good investment.\n\n————————-\n\nIn Trevons video we see his $5100 capital release which he is very happy to show his viewers. As Bitconnect investments of this amount have a capital release date of around 6 months we know that he invested his $5100 on around the 13th of June.\n\nLet’s go ahead and look at the price of Bitcoin on this date. As you can see the price of 1 Bitcoin was $2744.75. As he invested $5010 in Bitconnect at the time, he would have deposited around 1.858 Bitcoin.\n\nNow 6 months later he has had his capital release of $5010. If he was to use this to buy back into Bitcoin he would get just 0.297594 Bitcoin. That’s a insane 84% less Bitcoin than what he invested into Bitconnect 6 months ago. The reason why he is left with so much less Bitcoin than he put in is because the price of Bitcoin has gone up so much since his investment 6 months ago.\n\nLet’s assume that Trevon decided to hold his Bitcoin until now. His initial 1.858 Bitcoin today is worth a mind blowing $31,307.27. He has effectively sold his $31,000 asset for $5010. On most Bitconnect videos I see, people are focusing completely on the $ amounts and not looking at the actual Bitcoin amount.\n\nUnfortunately there is more to this story. On the 1st of August Bitcoin was forked to create Bitcoin cash, this happened during his investment. As his 1.858 Bitcoin was in Bitconnect’s control they got the free 1.858 in Bitcoin Cash. If he held the Bitcoin he would have got the free 1.858 Bitcoin Cash which today is worth $3507.53.\n\nThat means if Trevon held onto his 1.858 Bitcoin instead of depositing it 6 months ago in Bitconect as a $5010 investment he would now have $34,814.80\n\nThe question now is did his $5010 Bitconnect investment make enough interest over 6 months to make up for that $34,814 loss in value. If he withdrew his interest to Bitcoin every day he may have managed to capture some of that rise in Bitcoin value but it is impossible for me to calculate without knowing his withdrawal amounts and dates. But it’s safe to say that the $34,814.80 loss in value is going to be hard to make up in interest payments considering the interest would be on the comparatively small $5010 value of his initial investment 6 months ago. As with my last video I am not saying that Bitconnect is or isn’t a good investment as there’s so many factors to determine such as people, amounts, timing and strategy.\n\nI really hope this video helps to demonstrate that when looking at Bitconnect as a investment it’s vital to pay close attention to the Bitcoin amount invested VS gained and the price of Bitcoin throughout your investment. This is the only way you will know for sure if your Bitconnect investment has been profitable in real terms. If you are looking at the $ amounts only you are not getting the true profit or loss with Bitconnect. For example if you’re looking at the $ amount this video would be 30 seconds saying you invested $1000 and got $1000 back after 6 months but that would be ignoring the huge $32,800 loss in Bitcoin value.\n\nThis should also highlight 1 way it’s been easy for Bitconnect to survive over the last year with Bitcoins rapid increase in value and the highly successful Bitcoin Cash fork. Bitconnect have benefited massively from this which has made it easy for them to pay out interest withdrawals. I have just purchased a Ledger Nano S to store my Bitcoin and other crypto currencies. If you're not already aware, the Ledger Nano S is one of many crypto hardware wallets. A hardware wallet is essentially a device that stores your private keys offline. As the private key is stored offline it offers added protection from potential hacks and even when the device is connected to your computer the private key is never exposed. This differs from a software wallet such as Exodus which stores the private keys directly on your computer.\n\nThe device has its own screen and buttons which are used to set and enter your pin to confirm transactions. This is a great second layer of security compared to a software wallet as some computer viruses such as keyloggers can record your keys as you type. This could reveal your password or pin to hacker, which is one risk of using software wallets.  \n\nWhile setting up the device you will be asked to write down 24 random words. This is effectively your password which grants full access to your Bitcoin. It's very important to write these words down and store them offline as without them you will loose access to your Bitcoin. Make sure your unique 24 words are kept safe as with them anyone can gain easy access to your Bitcoin. I recommend writing them down and storing them offline in more than one place, for extra security don't mention anything about what they are used for on the paper. You could also write them backwards or try and disguise them with other text for extra security. At least that way if someone finds the paper it won't be obvious that it's a form of password. \n\nAs you expected, should you loose your device you can enter your 24 words with supporting wallets to restore your private keys and re-gain access to your Bitcoin. \n\nI really like paper wallets which is what I have been using for some time to store my Bitcoin. They are similar to a hardware wallet as the private key is held offline but with a paper wallet it's printed out. The problem with this form of storage is whenever a Bitcoin fork happened such as the recent Bitcoin Cash I had to move my Bitcoin to claim the coins which become very time consuming. Ledger makes it very easy to claim the coins as forks happen so it will save me a lot of time going forward as more and more forks are planned for the future.\n\nI hope you found this video interesting. This video may get a lot of hate but it’s OK, I can’t sit back and watch this unfold without at least trying to expose the situation. There’s thousands of people who are blindly investing in Bitconnect after watching videos with very catchy clickbait titles such as:\n\n– How I’ve Made Over $300,000 In 4 Months\n\n– $100,000 EARNED ON BITCONNECT IN 2 MONTHS\n\n– $725,000 IN CRYPTO EARNED\n\n– $5400 RESIDUAL FOR DOING NOTHING\n\nIt’s videos such as these that are convincing people to invest large amounts of money in the hopes of acheving similar returns. The truth is that these Youtubers are boosting about the money they’ve made from Bitconnect before their interest has exceeded their investment or before their investment capital has been released. This isn’t to say that eventually they won’t make a return of some kind with Bitconnect but until one of these two steps have happened if you take aside their referral commission these you tubers have not made any return on their investment. The money they have made has come from referral commission from their viewers investment in Bitconnect not their own investment in the platform.\n\nI’m all for people making money with crypto but the issue I have is how they are misleading their audience for their own financial gain. While it may or may not be possible to profit from Bitconnect the difference between referral and interest commission is massive.\n\nMy personal view on Bitconnect is neutral it could be a ponzi scheme or it could not, there’s arguments to be made on both sides. But one thing is for sure, every day thousands of people are falsely expecting to get rich from using Bitconnect partly due to these misleading videos.\n\nIf you’re willing to refer others to the platform, you will make a commission for doing so and may make similar returns if you are good at marketing. If you want to make interest on your Bitcoin holdings then you will only make money with Bitconnect if 1. it lasts long enough for you to recoup your investment by withdrawing interest payments or 2. you reach your capital release date which in theory would make any interest payments profit. One thing to keep in mind is if the price of Bitcoin is up by the time your capital is released you will actually get back less Bitcoin than you put in, effectively risking it being a poor investment compared to simply holding your Bitcoin. So even though your account is showing your Bitcoin investment dollar amount VS the return in $ you may be down in terms of total Bitcoin invested VS gained. On the flip side if you invest in Bitconnect when Bitcoin is at a all time high, if during your investment the Bitcoin price crashes and Bitconnect survives then it may become a good investment as you’ll be left with more Bitcoin.\n\nBefore we look into these investments the returns seen in the short time are still impressive even though they are sitting in the red. With that said, it’s very risk free for these people to invest $10,000 when they’ve already made $100,000 from referral commissions. Is it truly sustainable? If Bitconnect disappears tomorrow only those who are making big referral commissions are going to come out on top and most Bitconnect users will loose money.\n\nLooking at the video earlier we have crypto nick, there’s no doubt about it, he has made a lot of money from cryptocurrencies since the start of his youtube channel which is growing rapidly. But look at the title of the video, $300,000 earned in 4 months. At the time of this video his investment was $35,000, he has not reached his capital release yet. Look at the massive contrast between $289,000 from referral commissions and $14,000 from interest on his $35,000 investment. If you look at his actual investment at this stage he is $20,000 in the red. If Bitconnect stays around long enough he may make a return on his $35,000 investment but without that massive referral commission his investment is currently -60%. There is no risk investing $35,000 when you’ve made $300,000 in referral commissions.\n\nNext up we have Ryan Hildreth. The same situation as Cryptonick, he has a large Youtube following and all of that $100,000 advertised in the title has come from referral commission not from his personal investment in Bitconnect. His investment is $21,000 and his interest payments currently total $8,700 putting his investment in the red by $12,300 or in other words his return on investment is sitting at -59%.\n\nFor those who don’t know Glenn Arcaro promoted Control Finance heavily and when it disappeared he took no responsibility for referring his audience to the platform. At the time of this video Glenn has a investment of $5560 and has made $2094 interest. With such a catchy title of $5400 for doing nothing is it justified when his actual investment is -63% in the red?\n\n————-\n\nTo sum up my thoughts on Bitconnect I am neutral, it may last it may not I won’t recommend for or against investing but I hope this video shows you that it’s wise to take the catchy titles of these you tubers with a grain of salt.
