Either astray or to the promised land.\n\nTheir lips roll out those words we want to hear. \nWe want to see fuel sell at a lower price, we want naira to be equal to dollar,  we want this,  we want that and they tell us what we want. \n\nSame thing happens at the state level. \nUsing Osun state as a case study, the aspirants are out with their campaign promises and the focal point of this is the lapses of the current administration which is \"owing workers salaries\".\n\nEveryone knows that owing salaries is bad,  everyone knows you'll sell yourself better to the people if you promise to pay the outstanding salaries. \nMaking promises is easy,  anyone can do that... \nThe question is \"what will you put in place to address it? \"\nI'm sure gov Aregbesola wouldn't be happy that he's owing(knowing fully well that it'll affect his stand in the state), I remember how gov Mimiko lamented about owing his workers salary and called it the \"biggest regret\" of his administration. \nThe point I'm driving at is that, sometimes,  politicians find themselves in a situation bigger than themselves. \n\nWhen an aspirant promises to pay salary,  don't be over joyous, put the question to him... \nHow do you intend to pay it? \nWhat are the policies you'll put in place? \nHow will you address the issue?\nI listened to one of the aspirants, he promised to generate income by making sure all tax defaulters pay(I'm not attacking any personality, just want us to be realistic to ourselves)... \nDo you think this will have much effect?\nEveryday on OSBC(Osun state broadcasting station),  the present government make campaigns about payment of tax, also, some people go out to make sure defaulters pay...\n\nMoreover, the state has a high percentage of civil servants where their taxes are deducted even before receiving the salary . \nIn other words,  this policy will have little or no effect. \n\nCan you see how easy it is to make promises? \n\nIf the FG brings the nation into another recession(which will lead to drop in allocation, note that I've not included the state's debt in this analysis),  how will the state cushion this effect and reduce its impact on the people?\n\nAre the policies realistic?\nCan this successfully bring about the desired effects?\n\nWe shouldn't fall for their promises but to question the reality of their proposed policies...\n\nPolitics is about policies,  not promises",

      "body": "![Screenshot_20180802-003023.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmWvHsKoSmMDp7temBQLqZ7gEYVR3mssiyiYfnxeycH7vG/Screenshot_20180802-003023.png)\nIt's my mum's birthday,  happy birthday to her,  longlife and prosperity. \n\nKnowing fully well that she will most likely not see this on social media. \nWill be using this medium to pass few points across on parent-child relationship. \n\nToday, my mum clocks 58 to the glory of GOD. \nMum has never raised her tongue to say negative words to me.\nI wonder how parents find it easy to do... \nIn fact,  you don't need to be a parent before knowing there's power in your tongue.\nThe bible says \"death and life are in the power of the tongue\".\n  After cursing the child,  you'll still jump from one mountain to another to remove the curse(who is doing you?) \n\nNever ever place a curse on anybody,  you aren't just helping yourself and the person,  you're also helping the world,  at least, if you can't bless the person,  you won't contribute to his/her problems and to our world's problems.\nTo understand the power in the tongue, why do you think prayers are said with mouth? \nWhy do you think the bible ask you to ASK,  there's power in your tongue. \nWhy do you think you cast spell with mouth? why do you think you need to talk to recite an incantation? \nWho do you think GOD told Joshua not to let the book of the law depart from HIS MOUTH? and much more... \nThere's power in words than you can imagine,  if the whole world can be created with words,  then you know how powerful words can be. \n\nNow to the children,  I don't know how you find it easy to walk out on your parents, to raise your voice against them. I think the last time I grumbled to my parents should be around 9yrs or 10.\nThey may not give you all you need but know that they aren't comfortable with not providing for your needs.\nYou can't come on social media to tell us about your love for your parents while you shout at them at home... \nIt's not love,  you're rude. It's the easiest way to curse yourself...\nI'm always careful of those that shout on their parents because if you can do that to your parents, then you can beat up mine. \nThe Bible says \"honor your \nfather and mother that your days may be long\".\nThe Bible doesn't give it any condition,  no version tells you to honor them when they are good to you or not. \n\nHonor them and be good to them, with that, their souls will pray for you,  you'll be successful.\nOf course,  you can't always be on the same page on every issue, but there's a better way to communicate with them. \n\nTo complete this,  I'll release a post soon to explain: what to do when you find yourself in a problem too big to discuss with your parents. \nIt'll emphasize on parent-child relationships.\n\nOnce again,  happy birthday to my mum,  longlife and prosperity.",

      "body": "A man has a gun with him, loaded with bullets but with no knowledge of shooting, another man has a cutlass with him, an expert in it, decided to fight the first man.\nThey looked at each other from afar, both furious and blazing with anger, the man with the cutlass swept the tarred road with his cutlass, the friction created some sparks, sent fear to the nerves of the first man, he submitted, dropped his gun and quietly followed the second man.\nThe first man represents the masses, the second man represents the politicians, the gun is our voices, the bullets represent our PVC.\nThe PVC is the voice of the masses.\nThe politicians have made us look stupid, they make it seem we only have two parties.\nThe major problem we have is that, we are afraid of losing our votes(getting killed according to the story and we submit our guns to them, not knowing the power to liberate us is in the gun).\nIn 2003, Gani Fawehinmi contested for the President of this country, even when he had the name, the people refused to give him the vote(because most believed his party was too weak to win and were afraid of losing their votes).\nWe've forgotten that: the masses is the strength of the strong parties.\nI've seen scenarios where someone changed his choice because he believed he won't win.\nIf the right candidate is in a weak party, then he loses the election, when would this stop?\nIn most scenarios, the leadership of the so-called strong parties impose their candidates to continue to enslave the masses or go for the highest bidder.\nNow, we see a great defection, it seems 2019 will only be about PDP and APC(irrespective of who their candidates are), we're failing to look into personalities.\nIf we continue with this, the fear of losing our votes will continue to take our freedom.\nVote personalities, not parties.\nLet's enjoy the democracy we have.\n![images (27).jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmS7Xfe2pUm2iy8xTS1f4DaV6Rf6tYJSjGNdLarNZyMwRr/images%20(27).jpg)",
