The token sale happens from 1 March 2018 to 30 April 2018. There is some excitement around this ICO as https://cryptocoin.news has listed it as one of the top upcoming ICO’s.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The price of 1 MCU (MediChain Utility Coin) is $1. The maximum discount on the presale is 50%. The effective price for 1 MCU is $0.67. This is not bad considering that the average price will be $0.8.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The company is not disclosing at this stage which exchanges it plans to list however it does intend to list on a number of exchanges. This is due to the timing (pre-sale). They have assured potential investors that they will be listing on an exchange post ICO.</p>\n<p>If we look at ICO’s for companies operating in a similar space for example MediBloc. MediBloc’s ICO ended on 15 December 2017. The price has gone up $0.02 to $0.08, so any investor who got in early has done well. The ICO was a success and managed to raise $30,000,000. It is a 4 fold returns upon listing. At the high, MediBlock’s token reach a all time high of $0.287, representing a 14 times returns. But the price of their token has since came down together with the entire crypto market; which is natural and not due to any negative issues.</p>\n<p>The price of MCU will be driven by the demand for it and the use of the coin will determine the demand for it. I foresee that the demand for the usage of MCU will be huge.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>MediChain Utility Tokens (MCU) represents the value of arbitrary patient data blocks. These tokens will be used for a number of different purposes creating a demand for the coin.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The MCU coins will be used for the sale of anonymous medical data to research and pharmaceutical companies. These pharmaceutical companies use the data for the purpose of developing drugs. The annual drug development budget in the US is $153 billion dollars per year, the market for this type of data is enormous. This means there will definitely be a demand for the coin.</p>\n<p>MediChain has already been in discussion with a number UK and US healthcare, research institutes and projects and major providers of Electronic Records Systems and expects to announce over a dozen collaborative big data programs with major institutions from Q2 2018 onwards.</p>\n<p>The partnerships will also provide MediChain with the initial big data. &nbsp;So anyone wishing to purchase MediChain data will use MCU’s to purchase it. Data is available through one or more marketplaces to buyers. &nbsp;The MCU’’s will be bought with fiat. This will create a demand of MCU’s and the higher the demand the greater the price will increase. This is a inbuilt demand for MCU and naturally price of MCU will rise.</p>\n<p>As the companies partners with more and more pharma, insurers and researchers there will be an increase in demand for MCU. Holding onto MCU’s will result in price increases as more pharma and research companies look to acquire the coins for the purpose of purchasing research data in the market place.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Patients can also use the coins for digitally transmitted medical services such as lab tests and X-rays. The coins can also be used for discount purchase of compatible devices which may include Fitbit products like the Fitbit Alta HR, AliveCor Cardiac Monitors like the Kardia, Apple Watches like the Apple Watch Series 3 and related health kit products from partners. Demand and market for these devices is very big. This will create additional demand for the coin and drive up the price.</p>\n<p>Based on all of the above I think there will be a large amount of upside to this coin after the ICO. If we are looking at the same returns as Medibloc, then at 4x and 14x, MCU could be worth $1 or $14 potentially. These medical data are usually anonymized so that the sellers of our data do not get ensnarled into legal issues, and we as patients are not able to claim ownership of our data; hence our data can be sold without our knowledge. Although many of the usage of our data is for altruistic reasons such as cancer research and researching for cures of fatal illness, our medical data is being sold and we have no control over of our own medical and health information.</p>\n<p>Let’s discuss the impact of MediChain on the Medical data industry. To do this we would first need to understand the state of the medical data industry and who are some of the key players in this industry who are making tonnes of profits from patients’ medical data. Then we can understand the impact that MediChain would have on the industry.</p>\n<p>QuintilesIMS founded in 1982 is the world largest medical data provider. It is a $20 billion company.&nbsp;But you have never heard of it as it has been operating in the background together with medical professionals who are working with our health data. This is a multibillion dollar industry that even involves IBM.</p>\n<p>Your pharmacy, your doctor can all legally scrub your name out and sell your data. Anyone who has access to some type of medical information can trade it. To which you have not consented. We are not even aware that our medical data has been used by pharmaceutical companies or drugs companies for research. Perhaps our data was used to discover a life saving drugs, or perhaps our data was used for harmful research; we do not have the ability to know that.</p>\n<p>The use of this information is broad. The data can be used for research. The success of this research you will never know. It could be used for sales and marketing purposes. Having medical data of millions of patients, pharmaceutical companies can potentially know where to sell their products and how to sell their products. And even know how much to price their medical products to extract the maximum profits from patients. This is the power of big data. &nbsp;Pharmaceutical companies could also be targeting doctors who do not prescribe enough of their products.&nbsp;</p>\n<h2>Would you not want to know who is selling your information and to who?</h2>\n<p>The US government has spent a large amount to money to promote the use of electronic medical records. Even so few people have access to their full medical records. Not many people are able to even know how to do so. We need a medical data company that is customer-facing so that we as a customer or patient can understand how to maintain our own medical data.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Another characteristic of the industry is your medical records are never actually available when you need them, in an emergency. This is when we really need our medical records and we may not be in a state to be able to inform the doctors how to get access to our information. The industry is characterised as being secretive and in some case not acting in our best interest. We need a way for our information to be available when we need it yet kept private when it is our right for it to be private.</p>\n<p>Even the broader healthcare industry is still ancient and slow to change, with exam-room computers still clunky and old. We need someone to being about much needed change to this industry.</p>\n<p>Enter MediChain a company that wants to save lives with the block-chain. They want to do this by putting medical information on the block-chain. The company would still ensure that the data is safe, secure and private. Patient data would be stored in blocks in the block-chain. This data would be sold on disclosed marketplaces. Pharma and research companies wanting to purchase the data would need to purchase the companies utility token MCU.</p>\n<p>If MediChain succeeds in its mission it would as a start bring much needed transparency to the industry. Our medical records would no longer be scattered across various doctors and hospitals. They would be available to us from birth to death. Medical records could be updated immediately and from anywhere. Medical records error would also be avoided as records could be checked. We as patients have full control over accessing their healthcare data and can control who sees their data and what they see. This will allow for instantly updating and transferring of medical data. Patients can share their records, get second opinions, and communicate online with medical professionals.</p>\n<p>Imagine being in a life threatening situation and not being able to talk. The doctors saving your life could see your full medical history. They are then able to help you in the best possible way. As a patient you are able to access your data anywhere. Imagine being able to access this data not only at the family doctor, but on holiday in a foreign country where you have gone and can’t speak the local language.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Medical records on the block-chain would also give greater control of this information. The ability to decide whether you information can be sold to a particular company or not. Then knowing what this information will be used for. This would give the ownership of our medical data back to our own hands. Maybe we can even be part of a ground breaking drug discovery.</p>\n<p>With all this in mind, MediChain refers to itself as the big data medical information provider. The company will rely on big data technology to stay ahead of competitors. Artificial Intelligence and data analytics applied to big data that is accurate and truly representative of a population. This will surely mean newer cheaper life curing drugs. I would like to explain why MediChain is better than its competitor MediBloc. The more you share the more rewards you get. Patients can then use these rewards to pay for medical services with providers that have partnered with MediBloc. &nbsp;</p>\n<p>MediChain refers to itself as a “big data medical platform”. Each token on the MediChain block represents some patient data. These blocks will be anonymised and sold on a marketplace. The companies buying them will need to purchase the MediChain token to participate in the marketplace.</p>\n<p>The multibillion dollar turnover electronic health records (EHR) industry is an old industry. The largest company in the industry was founded 35 years ago and is valued at $20 billion. For a start-up, competing with an established company with greater resources would be fatal. MediBloc will be in more direct competition to the existing EHR providers than MediChain.</p>\n<p>MediChain has moved quickly to establish partnerships with existing EHR providers. The company sees them as partners and not competitors. MediChain places a big emphasis on big data technology. Big data technology is where it feels that it can add value to existing pharmaceutical companies, healthcare systems, researchers and insurers and existing EHR providers. MediChain is more than a system for storing medical data on. It provides big data technology to these existing providers. This is an area where MediChain shines. Rather than fight a uphill battle against existing players who have huge warchest, MediChain is going to create value for them, while benefiting users who are patients.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Pre ICO MediChain has already been in talks with UK NHS projects and specialist departments including Rheumatology, Alzheimer's, Epilepsy as well as a major provider of Electronic Records Systems and major US research institutes in Heart Disease, Alzheimer's Disease, Blindness, Arthritis and Cystic Fibrosis, and expects to announce over a dozen collaborative big data programs with major institutions from Q2 2018 onwards.</p>\n<p>By establishing these relationships early on will make it difficult for the likes of MediBloc to enter the space. It has first mover advantage despite not ICO earlier. Partnerships are golden in business and MediChain has proven that it is able to do that.</p>\n<p>The partnerships will also provide MediChain with the initial big data, but this data won't be accessible to patients (it's the anonymized data that will be used for medical projects and research in the future). They will also be using the funds raised from the ICO to fund more projects and collaborations to get high quality data to 'seed' the database.</p>\n<p>This will also be an advantage for MediChain. MediChain intends selling this data through a marketplace that makes use of the MediChain token MCU. A large dataset that it can sell fairly quickly means that it will be off to a head start.</p>\n<p>When it comes to technology MediChain will store some data on and some data off the block-chain. This will be an advantage for MediChain as this will improve speed and performance while still maintaining privacy and security.</p>\n<p>Another factor that makes MediChain better is that it will make use of a Smart Card system. We must remember that most consumers do not care whether they are interacting with a blockchain app or a conventional app. They only care about performance and when the app response is slow, users tend to go away.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The other key problem is the unfriendliness of blockchain apps. Most blockchain applications require a bit of tech know to install and use. For example, users will need to install Metamask in order to use Ethereum applications. The softcap is 12000 ETH, approximately $13.2mil USD. To everyone who managed to get into the public sale registration, congratulations.</p>\n<p>I give ArcBlock a 4.0/5.0 due to their likely sellout TGE.</p>\n<h2>Does ArcBlock have a MVP as well as a viable Business Plan/RoadMap?</h2>\n<p>At this moment, the dev team has already developed the prototype of the decentralized Publish-Subscribe (pub/sub) gateway which serves as the gateway for the Blocklets, which is the heart of the ArcBlock platform.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Blocklets is the fundamental building blocks of ArcBlock platform and together with the pub/sub gateway, Blocklets will be able to interact with the codes in the users’ browsers or mobile apps. Hence building the Blocklets and the gateway is one of the key components of ArcBlock.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The public launch of ArcBlock will be in 2019 which is a reasonable timeline based on the goals of the project.</p>\n<p>What I do like very much is the detailed Roadmap which shows the timeline for the development work of ArcBlock. The team also has a 5 year plan which demonstrates the various goals they will achieve in the next 5 years.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>I like a team which demonstrates a long term vision and detailed planning. I give ArcBlock a 4.0/5.0 here.</p>\n<h2>Listing in Exchanges</h2>\n<p>The information about listing on exchanges is not as detailed as I hope it to be. It is only listed on the Roadmap as Q2 2018 for tokens to be launched in exchanges. While listening on ArcBlock’s telegram group, this information is heavily sought after by members but I believe that it could be either due to legal reasons or perhaps it is too early for the team to start negotiating with exchanges for listing.</p>\n<p>This is not a critical problem as I see this token as a long term investment. The true value of ArcBlock would only be realized when the first decentralized applications on ArcBlock are launched and when the Open Chain Access Protocol is fully launched. This will occur in Q2 2018 as well.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Hence I would advise any ICO investors to be patient and hold on to ABT at least till the launch of the first decentralized applications on ArcBlock are launched.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>I give ArcBlock a 3.0/5.0 in this area.</p>\n<h2>Team And Advisors</h2>\n<p>ArcBlock really shines in this area. Experts or Knowledge Providers can now actively monetize their knowledge when they act as an advisor or consultant to anyone over the internet.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>While Experts and Knowledge Providers have always been able to charge for their expertise, the process has more than often been a offline process where clients meet these experts, such as Lawyers, Doctors, Scientists and Consultants etc, at their offices.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>This limits the extent that Experts can monetize their knowledge as they can only serve clients within a geographical area.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Going online is an option for these Knowledge Providers but online payments adds an additional layer of friction which discourages both the Knowledge Providers as well as Advice Seekers. Issues with “Does the client pays beforehand or does the client pays afterwards, how will the fee be counted” are limiting the online potential of this market.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>With <a href=\"https://experty.io/en\">Experty</a>, payments will be executed over the blockchain. What this means is that even before the consultation starts, the fee per min would have been determined and the Advice Seekers’ funds would be verified and locked on the blockchain so that once the consultation ends, the fee would be paid to the Knowledge Provider immediately.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>This provides certainty for Experts who wants to monetize their knowledge, and they are not burden with the need for fee collection nor will they have to pay heavy fees to a third party to handle payments for them.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Note that this payment process carries zero fees. Hence the Knowledge Provider will not be loading his rates to cover payment processing fees versus him/her using a third party.&nbsp;</p>\n<h2>Uber For Knowledge Provider</h2>\n<p>I think we can draw parallels to Uber in terms of how “skills” can be shared and paid but in this case, the reach by every Expert or Knowledge Provider is global.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Each Knowledge Provider will be able to “Sell” his knowledge and provide advice to anyone over voice and video calls online.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Each Knowledge Provider will also be able to leave his paid call links or QR codes on anywhere he wishes to market his services.</p>\n<p>These can be on his social media pages or even on existing portals that list Knowledge Providers like doctors, lawyers and other professionals.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>This is a powerful concept that will also incentivize the deepening of one’s expertise in areas where there are demand. And Experts will be able to monetize their knowledge unilaterally without having to rely on third parties.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>My opinion is that this application will see gradual mainstream adoption together with the trend of the Gig Economy of independent contract workers. I do not work for Dragon and I am only an enthusiastic holder of DRG who want to see my investment grow leaps and bounds. So it is exciting to imagine the kind of returns with my holdings of DRG. I am already imaging myself in my Lambo, all decked out in Dragon decals, racing towards the Dragon Pearl.</p>\n<p>I have been following the Dragon telegram group https://t.me/DragonOfficialENG and reading all the articles written about Dragon, their business model and plans as well as the Dragon Coin. There are many enthusiastic Dragon investors and everyone must be anticipating the price of DRG as the listing on the exchanges will be happening this month.</p>\n<p>What will happen this month is the launching of Dragon junket in South Korea and Macau, the listing of DRG on the exchanges before the DRG ICO in February.&nbsp;</p>\n<h2>So what will be the price of DRG on the exchange?</h2>\n<p>DRG was sold at about $1 to the pre-sales investors and subsequently at $2 to the pre-ICO investors. With a circulating supply of 35million DRG, the total market cap of DRG will be $70million USD if it gets listed at $2.</p>\n<p>But what would be a similar ICO that we can benchmark DRG? I am looking at FunFair. While FunFair is using blockchain to disrupt the online casino and not junket gaming, it is the closest we can find among all the ICOs.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>When FunFair was initially listed, it was $0.012 and it traded up 10 folds to currently $0.188. And with a monthly burning of DRG until it hits 21million coins, whereby 40% of the circulating DRG gets burned, the eventual price of DRG will be $800million/21million DRG = $38.095 USD.</p>\n<p>This calculation has not factor in the growing junket business and the fact that Dragon will be signing up more junket operators in 2018 from the current 4. With more and more junket operators who will be buying up DRG for their business operations to facilitate gaming credits for VIP gamblers, we will start seeing more and more demand for DRG in 2018.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>It is exciting just to imagine what will be the eventual price of DRG and how this will boost my portfolio of crypto investment. I imagine my little pot of &nbsp;DRG will be worth 6 figure within this year and it will be worth 7 figure when the Dragon Pearl is built.</p>\n<p>What will be the size of your portfolio when DRG reaches its potential? These high rollers come to Macau to gamble in the private VIP rooms known as Junkets.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Business has returned back to the hey days after the Chinese government crackdown on corruption but there are 2 emerging trends that could put a screeching halt to the industry. First, the tightening of regulations by the Chinese government and second, the abandonment of junket systems by newer casinos in Asia.</p>\n<h2>Tighter Regulations By Chinese Government</h2>\n<p>The junket business is a high growth, high margin business and in Macau alone, there are 197 licensed junket operators, of which a number are listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The junket business is a legitimate business but there have been dozens of junket operators who have engaged in extra-legal practices, links to triads and resorted to violence to collect debts.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>This is frown upon by the Chinese government and while junket operators are still legal in Macau, junket operators who are deemed to have criminal links as well as not been cooperative to the Chinese government, have been removed.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The Chinese government is concerned with capital outflow and wants to be able to track funds that are leaving China. This is where Dragon Inc can provide the transparency for the entire industry. Funds moving out of China can be tracked via the blockchain and criminal activities such as money laundering can be traced. What Dragon Inc provides is a capability for the Chinese government to monitor and regulate the industry.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>When the Chinese government tightens the regulations on the junket industry, we will see that usage of Dragon coins will be the only option for junket operators if they want to stay in business in Macau.</p>\n<h2>Abandonment of Junket Systems by Newer Casinos in Asia.</h2>\n<p>The second trend is more worrying for the junket operators. Countries, who are opening up casinos for the first time, are abandoning the junket system for the “player agent system”, as they want to stay away from some of the less desirable aspect of the junket system.</p>\n<p>Singapore does not allow the junket system and uses the “player agent system” in which the licensed agents can attract VIP players to the casinos but these agents cannot grant credit to the players; effectively eliminating the credit/loan system and requiring the players to stake with their own funds.</p>\n<p>Japan lawmakers have been advised to ban the junket system and they have pointed out that the country’s casino regulatory framework would be broadly based on those of Nevada and Singapore, which could mean that a form of the latter’s player agent system could be introduced in Japan.</p>\n<p>With the new system, the junket operators will have to adapt and facilitate the transfer of funds from the VIP gamblers. The cross-order nature of crypto becomes ever more important as fiat transfer would be too costly and dealing with agents may not be desirable. Dragon coin would be the solution as transferring crypto currency is lower in costs and also Dragon coin will allow direct exchange into gambling chips at the dragon owned or affiliated casinos.</p>\n<p>As more junket operators opens up more junkets outside of Macau, they will have to play by the new rules and become more transparent.
