However, it is currently in a battle at $228 and this level is proving difficult to overcome. \n\nDespite the rocky 13% price decline over the past 7-days of trading, Ethereum is still up by a total of around 28% over the previous 30 days and still up by a larger total of 81% since the start of the year.\n\n**Ethereum Price Analysis**\n\nETH/USD – Daily CHART – SHORT TERM\n![](https://cdn.coingape.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/28140440/cg-ethusd-feb28.png)\n\n\n**Market Overview**\n\nEthereum managed to rebound at the support at $220 which is provided by a short term .5 Fibonacci Retracement level. It must break above $228 and $240 to start the making of some form of bullish recovery.\n\nShort term prediction: **NEUTRAL**\n\nEthereum prevented itself from turning bearish over the past 24 hours after bouncing at the $220 level. It is now battling to overcome resistance at the bearish .236 Fibonacci Retracement level priced at $228.\n\nIf the buyers can break the aforementioned resistance, higher resistance is then located at $240, provided by the short term bearish .382 Fibonacci Retracement. Yesterday saw the printing of a Doji candle which is an indecision candle as the bulls and bears battle for market momentum.\n\nIt had found support at a downside 1.414 Fibonacci Extension level and has been trading along with this level for the past couple of days as we wait for the market players to make their next move.\n\nThe cryptocurrency has also been supported by the rising trend line that has been in play since the start of the year.\n\nShort term prediction: **NEUTRAL**\n\nBitcoin is considered as neutral at this moment in time but is in danger of turning bearish if the sellers break beneath the rising support trend line. \n\nIf the sellers break beneath $8,800, we will expect this rising trend line to provide the first level of support. This caused it to roll over and start to fall.\n\nIt found brief support at around $0.27, however, it went on to collapse beneath here after a failed rebound attempt.\n\nOver the past 3-days, we can see that XRP continued to decline until finding recent support at the .886 Fibonacci Retracement level priced at $0.228. This area of support is further bolstered by a downside 1.414 Fibonacci Extension level.\n\nShort term prediction: BEARISH\n\nThe break beneath $0.25 has certainly turned XRP bearish. Hopefully, it can rebound from here and regain some of the previous losses.\n\nIf XRP does break beneath the current support at $0.228, we can expect immediate support below at $0.22. Besides, the yearly highs at $10,500 might have marked the end of the week-after-week rally that saw Bitcoin price grow significantly from $7,000 at the beginning of January.\n\nAt the time of press, BTC/USD is trading slightly under $8,700. The freefall from levels above $9,000 failed to find support at $8,700. A weekly low has been formed at $8,530 with $8,500 support standing out after being tested.\n\nBitcoin price is also exchanging hands below the 200-day SMA for the first time since the beginning of February.
