bodyObserve how the seconds tick on this clock below. Rather than the Second hand rotating 6 degrees per second, it rotates 18 degrees. The hand moves 3 times faster. Instead of the seconds being modular 1, its modular 3. Clocks are the most familiar form of Modular Math. Cryptocurrency and Blockchain are other examples of a modern technology using different expressions of modular math. Also observe how the 24 hours of the day are arranged. The hour hand rotates at exactly the same speed as a normal Clock, however the hours are arranged at the bottom instead of the top, at the left instead of the right. A 12 hour clock is mod 2, meaning it turns twice before completing its cycle. Here are examples of spiral clocks. The first example breaks the second into modular 3. Three turns of twenty instead of one turn of sixty. We are conditioned to make the second hand turn once every 60 seconds but we can just as easily build a clock where it turns 3 times per 60 seconds. The second hand rotates 3 times the distance per second, 18 degrees instead of 6 degrees. The other illustrations show 24 spiral clocks. When we represent a 24 hour clock as a spiral, we can see it's much easier to correlate between AM and PM and military time. ![timeKeepsTicking.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmZU1LBBkfDxveZjjYtNRWvFzf4rbv5XVRwRVVVHWzpBma/timeKeepsTicking.jpg) Time can never be truly wasted. The topics explored in this blog are #semiotics, #linguistics, #phonology, #horology, chronology, alphabets, and how to interface information into time keeping devices to enhance our languages. Ancient Greek philosophy conceptualized perfect "forms", so we can apply this strive for perfection to improve our base 10 numbering system. It's difficult to do mathematics using Roman or Mayan numbers, whereas Hindu/Arabic is easier. Let's apply this type of easing to enhance our languages and alphabets too. Notice how the Hindu/Arabic numbers also represent angles and thereby symbolically represent the quantity they are. The Hindu/Arabic numbers have been stylized and abstracted over time, but the original numbers are represented as angles as seen in this example. ![numbvers.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmXa2qEBgrmUX9HZAidRqaM5ZT1JgAPqagKSExmuieVJES/numbvers.jpg) Following this line of reasoning with numbers, what is the best way to display time? Here are examples of the Gregorian Calendar as a Spiral instead of as a grid of columns and rows. People talk about Sacred Geometry but what does that really mean? There's no doubt that we can embed more information into a spiral interface. We will also enhance our alphabet when we build them into spiral interfaces. ![cali.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmUtfN6wiNCM6ePyJy6kmRWLF4soK9iybYXbqdE7keAHF7/cali.jpg)

bodyWhat's the best way to display prime numbers? Who agrees that this example interfacing the numbers into a #spiral makes the numbers more memorable? Perhaps spiral interfaces will unlock new insights for #mathematicians. Arranging numbers in a spiral of 6 is more revealing than 12. When the prime numbers are displayed in columns and rows its hard to see any pattern at all. ![primeNumbers.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRNZaqtsCBUXatHXReT7QtYHfWd9cZ4LbVARN6PfgzoT9/primeNumbers.jpg) All spirals are concentric circles. On a computer screen the algorithm used to display a circle is the midpoint circle algorithm. The question is what is the space between the pixels? The human eye can only see so far, so big, so small. At some point the space between the pixels becomes insignificant. Or is there a way to build a kind of infinite fractal pixel, where no space exist in-between the pixels? ![midpoint.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmWNYtVNiQThyktLZCEewtPp54bxXjG86noGRhvevC1JZN/midpoint.jpg)

bodyInstead of showing the melting and boiling points of the elements of the periodic table using #Celsius or #Fahrenheit or #Kelvin, let's display it by #ratio and color. For example in the first section of the pie it shows the melting and boiling points of Lithium and Oxygen and how they overlap. ![temp_by_ratio.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmTNgF9ic8YEBvJVQBpHyxGu95sJDuff6HgKDKQT5UiW3Y/temp_by_ratio.jpg) What is science? A very broad question. One aspect of science is precision. No area of science is more concerned with precision than #chronometry, the accurate measure of time. In this example , the interface is describing the atmosphere, displaying the distance by ratio instead of the precise measurement of a kilometer. The Troposphere is 15 kilometers, represented as the blue in the first pie section, next it shows the Troposphere in ration to the Stratosphere, and on and on. Describing the distances of sections of the atmosphere by ratio. ![atmo.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYrPFKQmotBupJrTYqcYbXrNBrry3nqbH3J2cGGWgk6mm/atmo.jpg)

bodyWhat's the best way to represent sounds for words, a phoneme? Notice the evolution between #Phoenician, Greek and Hebrew. An interesting attribute of Hebrew is how the letters can all be arranged around the Star of David. This can't be a coincidence. The original concept behind the letters must have been arranged this way as part of the Kabbalah and Jewish mysticism, especially as the Hebrew language also uses Gematria. ![phoneme99999.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmaqYdAHqxXpccSs1NtJPoSgw4LPAVfcZuwucm4t2sFGtG/phoneme99999.jpg) This interface shows English phonemes between different dialects, Yellow sounds are UK English and Australian English. American English has less phonemes. English #phonology in this interface is also displaying the area of articulation, where the sounds are produced in the mouth. The letters are using the International Phonetic Alphabet. ![phoneme0.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmXRu6MigRo6JfT4trxptMzj9x96uP2h8tqFnP5Fj3xLPa/phoneme0.jpg) The left interface shows phonemes between different French and Cree which evolved into Michif , the green are shared between the two languages. The right interface shows English and Tagalog and the shared phonemes are green. These are blueprints, when they are functional we can click the letter to hear the sound. ![phoneme2.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmdJEs32Rc1rePfEaBaG42U2DPQ9XrNRBwrQmPVVqkVSmb/phoneme2.jpg) A final example of shared consonants phonology between English and Russian. bodyAn example of a music #clock. Instead of associating time with numbers, each section of the day represents a note or scale. The face of the clock turns rather than the hand, so that the pattern of the scale is imprinted as a #mnemonic. The interface on the left shows the scales on a standard tuned guitar. The interface on the right is arranged in the circle of fifths. AM is major scale, PM is minor scale. ![mudiv.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmP8d1FjRFcKaao6DjEZwS8p9DJfa41CTMDGaXRE1yKvkW/mudiv.jpg) This music clock has the face turning, not the hands turning. bodyThe 24 hour day is named by the Major and Minor scales of the circle of fifths. AM is major #scale. PM is minor scale. 60 minutes of each hour are broken into the 7 parts. The first part is 12 minutes long and represents the note of the scale, the notes are broken into 8 minute segments, for a total of 7 segments per hour. These represent the 7 notes in every scale. For example, right now the time is "Hour of B Flat Major - note of A" Which correlates to 10:54 AM with familiar 24 hour time keeping. Time to advance your mind children of Earth, time to use more than 1 clock. One issue when designing this clock is how to deal with #enharmonic notes. ![music_Clock.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmaMBVoVdjZb2sh29oWQcE5NZhaPdSkqS6HA28MGu3G14x/music_Clock.jpg) Code for The #CircleOfFifths Music #Clock at Github: https://github.com/chromalendar/ChromaCelestialCalendar/blob/master/music-clock.js

bodyThe Chromalendar is the development of a new language, new symbols, new forms, new time keeping. It does not propose to replace English but rather adds and enhances it. If English is a hammer, the Chromalendar is an F-35A built with hammers. Any nation that implements this language, or one like it, will have a tactical advantage over those limiting themselves to Latin characters. Imagine each letter is itself an entire alphabet, like a multidimensional array. Along the same vain, those who are using calendars and clocks more advanced than the Roman Gregorian calendar will also significantly increase intelligence. The clock is an educational tool, repetition is how we learn. How we keep track time is the limitation of how intelligent we become, how civilized. Again, more examples of #Spiral interfaces. The left is the #Bible interface represented in a spiral where each quarter turn equals 1000 years. The right displays different Empires in the same 1000 year quarter. These are very rough blueprints but they will be interactive so more knowledge is contained within them, rather then displaying information in grids of columns and rows like #Wikipedia. Not to replace Wikipedia but to enhance it. Send me Steem, support us, support me. Money talks. No money, no future. Oh yeah, also, God is great! ![historyClock.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmfEE65SHPsnrYcAok35MKKTM2ThV82o5xRGyi8f1AQnrs/historyClock.jpg)

Join me, let's attempt to model computer interfaces like mother nature models flowers and plants. Here is the #ICHING hexagram lookup table. bodyHere is an example of an I-Ching clock, using an 8 hour clock, breaking the day into 3 sections, #mod3, rather than using AM and PM. On further thought, each of the 64 #hexagrams can be separated into 22.5 minutes in length for a day. Since we can't #divide 3 into 64 , we can instead divide by 8. Therefore the I-Ching #clock should rotate 8 times per day, not 3 or 2 like this example. Therefore it should be a 4 hour clock, mod 8, turning 8 times per day instead of 2. ![iching_clock.gif](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmavGLe95WrGwoUoADwg6J2p15o9NvZTCQmf3p8qDB4rca/iching_clock.gif)

bodyThis is an old sketch for a spiral #interface for #genome DNA information. All computer interfaces are more functional designed as spirals. More data is contained in a spiral, more patterns and associations are discovered or associated. I propose we name genes with colorful names. For example CECR1 could be renamed, Blue-Eyed-Red-Cat. Blue for fluids, Red for flesh, Cat Eye for the rare #chromosome disorder. We can utilize #synesthesia to enhance interfaces. Not to replace the old ways but to build upon them. Every chromosome has a scientific name as well as a Chromalendar name. Every gene will be associated with a different time of the day and built into a time keeping mechanism. Both as an interface and a time keeping mechanism. A clock is an educational tool of the highest class. ![dna_clock.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmakTzx4qvhnxSDAUm8dj5B9z9GhPoi1hViLM56JNsBsZi/dna_clock.jpg)

bodyConsider a clock where the second hand doubles in #length after every second, where the second hand grows and grows each second. We are associating each increment of #time with a #distance. We could have a second represent 0.074 km so that when a full day is over, it equals the approximate radius of #Earth. Or we could make each second 1/2 km to represent the circumference of the Earth. Historically, the #Metric system was designed to be a ratio based on the size of the Earth. The rate the universe is expanding is thought to be 67 kilometers per second. The earth rotates at 0.46 km per second . This is an attempt to invent new units of measurement that are based on planetary ratio, motion and spin. ![earthSize.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmeUzrF2jnFwXutyGMUoMwQQj1YRfZjE78ACgkcZfN3GtC/earthSize.jpg)

bodyAn example of associating units of #measurement with light, using the visible light spectrum to describe distances. This example segments the visible light spectrum into 6 different lengths of color, (A rough sketch to illustrate the idea, yellow should be the smallest band). In this example, we measure E.Coli bacteria, but rather then 2000 nano-meters long, we can say its 200 orange or 25 blue. Because Orange is about 10 #nanometers and Blue is 80. Here we are describing the distance by giving the relationship between Blue and Orange. We are not concerned about #precision, precise measurements , but rather a general approximations as #light is a #gradient of color, lacking defined borders. ![nanoNums.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmSTPJZE3cQbmHCtkzz8yt4hByzNHTBNmMsPXZ88YDD6wS/nanoNums.jpg)

bodyThis diagram compares Quinary #Base5 to the familiar Base 10 number system. I'm using unique colors and symbols (Chromalendar #Numbers), rather than Arabic numbers. In #ComputerProgramming the code is constantly being converted in base 10, base 2, base 8, base 16. Compare base5 over five iterations and base10 over 5 iterations, like this: Base5: 0123401234012340123401234 Base10: 01234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789 That's half the computation power if we don't need extra symbols or placeholders for the representations of those quantities. Calculating with a base 5 system could potentially reduce #Computation time. ![baseSys.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmd34zczVcrNiuaohapQkF7N2V89xW5gEEnfw6ba9CVUrE/baseSys.jpg)

bodyHistory of Numbers. From the left is #Egyptian, #Babylonian, #Aegean, Hindu, #Brahmi, Hebrew, Arabic, Angles, Hindu/Arabic - then new symbols (Chromalendar numbers). The next row represents angles in a different way, using shapes, the next represents angles using lines, the row next represents symmetry, it also represents the periodic table of elements and their electron shells, the next displays the symmetry using lines, the last is color, each color represents a number. The idea is that the numbers are representations of real world things or events. Symmetry could be better to represent numbers rather than by angles. ![numbers.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmcBPRkx5WkeWdc85cjtKikMscfShiNKkRfLgkKL5tJk15/numbers.jpg)

bodyHere we show a #Tetrahedron, one of the 5 platonic solids. Imagine we shoot an #Energy beam at the structure. The energy will have 3 paths to follow. The ratio of the #frequency vs the ratio of the length of the edge will determine how much of the energy reaches the center point. This is to illustrate that a "plane" does not exist in nature. Planes are energy thresholds. A Tetrahedron represents the borders of all 3 energy thresholds of the same frequency, but no such flat plane exists. Also notice how there needs to be 3 complimentary symmetries to balance the structure so it maintains its shape. ![symmetryTetra.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRsgy8Gc3uGYWBuHZDhbtjoB5UqFwrpwSbtzbDrQpg7UD/symmetryTetra.jpg)

bodyHere is a 3D model of a Tetrahedron. The edges are plastic sticks stringed together with red, blue and green string. Each corner of a the Tetrahedron has #Torque. The torque depends on the #Tension. As each string makes a 109 degree #rotation, they lose space in the corners, making less and less space per loop, until each string finally forms the shape of a circle in the center. The shape of each #vertex is warped due to torque and tension. ![tetraTorque.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmbFCF5yoKud8AyChiBEhobRRC7dBrW9MkoA96fYDCnpVv/tetraTorque.jpg)

bodyA 3D model of a Octahedron, weaved with only 1 string and symmetry to illustrate how it forms a shape like a horse saddle in the center. For the Octahedron to be symmetrical it requires weaving from 4 different positions, rather than 3 like the Tetrahedron. Sorry for the poor quality photos. Observe how #Hyperbolic and #Parabolic geometries are formed within this #Euclidean #Geometry. ![octoDream.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmVj5geeqPnEYMgMiXyjzaEFQhDLCzkdSufnGRA2d4JsNe/octoDream.jpg)

bodyThis diagram illustrates the shortcoming of Arabic/ Hindu numbers . It also illustrates the concept of synergy. 1 + 1 = 3 Or we can say combined energies output more energy than their individual energies. If we take 1 tetrahedron and deconstruct it and join it with another tetrahedron, we have different outcomes, either 2 tetrahedron with 3 edges remaining, or 3 tetrahedrons. How can we describe this? If I say 1 + 1 = 3 that doesn't make sense, and yet that's exactly whats happening here. This also illustrate irrational numbers, how can we have 3 edges remaining and not something "whole"? This requires some sort of mathematical notation where the quantity of 1 is made of 6 components.![tetra.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmUXYAJdxtxLviKfTPK2CWZftVvsEX9cLQ4myftMrK51Rh/tetra.jpg)
