Well, whatever side you are on, as rugged as Trump may appear, he's a man that is unperturbed for reasons no one may have.\n\nHis term will expire before the Senate may even have a chance to consider the House's articles of impeachment, although it is still working out how to try him and possibly ban him from holding elected office again. A lot of questions have been raised on whether he can even be tried for impeachment since he'll already have moved out of the White House — and whether he'd still enjoy the benefits accorded to former presidents if the Senate convicts him. \n\nSenate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell does not plan to reconvene the Senate to hold Mr. Trump's trial before his term ends on January 20; this would only occur once Joe Biden has assumed the presidency, creating what some legal experts consider to be a legal gray area. \n\nStephen Vladeck, a constitutional law expert and professor at the University of Texas School of Law alluded that probably the founders never thought about this scenario where you would have a president engage in impeachable conduct close enough to the end of his term that he would be impeached as president while tried after. \n\nLegal scholars have been arguing about whether it's constitutional to try a former president for impeachment.\n\nIn a Washington Post op-ed, conservative former U.S. Court of Appeals Judge J. Michael Luttig says it's not, asserting that the Constitution only allows the Senate to convict an incumbent president. \n\n\"Once Trump's term ends on January 20, Congress loses its constitutional authority to continue impeachment proceedings against him — even if the House has already approved articles of impeachment,\" Luttig wrote this week. \n\nBut Vladeck says that another section of the Constitution – Article I, Section 3, Clause 7 – puts two questions before the Senate when it says, \"Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States.\" \n\n\"The Constitution contemplates that the Senate can do two different things when an officer is impeached. It can remove them from office but it can also disqualify them from holding future office,\" he told CBS News. \"The expiration of President Trump's term renders one of those moot, but not both of them.\" \n\nIn Vladeck's view, removal from office and the lifetime bar are separate and independent of one another. He argued in a New York Times op-ed that an official can't dodge the move to disqualify him or her from holding future office simply by resigning — as Secretary of War William Belknap did in 1876, knowing he was about to be impeached by the House. The Senate — though it ultimately voted to acquit him — first passed a resolution affirming it had the authority to try him, regardless of his resignation.  \n\nThe Senate has also traditionally separated a vote to convict an official on impeachment charges from a vote to bar him or her from holding future office. Eight people have been convicted on impeachment charges, but just three have been disqualified from holding future office.\n\nIf the Senate ultimately convicts Mr. Trump on the article of impeachment sent by the House, it can take a second vote to bar him from holding future office. While the first vote would require two-thirds of senators — 67 — to convict and remove him, the second vote to bar him from public office would just require a simple majority because the Constitution does not demand a higher threshold.  \n\nWill Trump receive his annual allowance, office space, staff and travel funds if he's convicted?\n Even though the House has now voted to impeach Mr. Trump for a second time, he won't automatically lose the benefits enjoyed by former presidents. \n\n\"An impeached president who is not convicted by the Senate doesn't lose any benefits,\" said American University presidential historian Allan Lichtman. \n\nThe Former Presidents Act, passed in 1958, entitles every living former president to these benefits: \n\nA lifetime federal pension equal to the pay received by the head of an executive department (in 2020, that amount was $219,200);\nFunds to procure and furnish office space;  \n$150,000 per year to hire staff for the first 30 months following the presidency and $96,000 per year after that;\nUp to $1 million per year for \"security and travel related expenses\" (plus an additional $500,000 for a former First Lady).\nThe act also states three criteria that define what it means to be a former president qualifying for these benefits: \n\nWho shall have held the office of President of the United States of America; \nWhose service in such office shall have terminated other than by removal pursuant to section 4 of article II of the Constitution of the United States of America; and \nWho does not then currently hold such office. \nIt was specifically written to disqualify a president who is impeached by the House and convicted by the Senate. Former President Nixon received his benefits because he resigned before an impeachment and removal could occur. \n\nWhat happens if a president is convicted after leaving office? \n \"There's now no scenario where Trump's service is going to be terminated by the Senate,\" Vladeck said. \"Even if the Senate ultimately votes to convict, I actually think Trump will have a pretty good argument that at least based on the text of the statute, he's still a qualifying former president, and that would settle the matter.\" \n\nLichtman drew the same conclusion from a narrow reading of the statute, though he said it probably wasn't the intention of Congress when it drafted the law.  \n\n\"I don't think they contemplated a situation like this one, where the impeachment of the House come so late that a trial could take place after the president takes office either because he's defeated or retired. But I certainly think the intent of the law was that if you're guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors you don't deserve the perks,\" he said.  \n\nThis creates a legal gray area between the way the law is written and what Congress intended. But Vladeck said the only way for the issue to end up in court is for the General Services Administration to refuse to treat President Trump as a former president, and for Mr. Trump to sue them in return. \n\n\"I just don't see that happening,\" he said. \"Even if Trump is convicted I assume the GSA will treat him as a former president based on this particular reading of the statute.\" \n\nWhat about his Secret Service protection?\nIn 1994, the federal law that provided lifetime Secret Service protection to former presidents and their spouses was amended to limit that protection to 10 years for any president who entered office after January 1, 1997. In 2012, Congress passed a law called the Former Presidents Protection Act, which restored lifetime protection. President Obama, who along with his predecessor, President George W. Bush, stood to lose coverage while still alive — signed the bill into law in early 2013.  \n\nThe statute governing Secret Service protection merely authorizes the agency to protect \"former presidents,\" but doesn't explicitly define a former president the way the Former Presidents Act does. Post-presidency impeachment conviction or not, that likely means that Mr. Trump would keep his protective detail.  \n\nWill he receive a presidential library?\nThe Former Presidents Act does not provide funds for presidential libraries; those are created with private donations. If Mr. Trump wants to raise money for a library, he can.  \n\nEven if he does not build one, the United States Archivist is legally allowed to acquire land and facilities to create an archive of his presidency.  \n\nWhat if Congress changes the law around former presidents?\n\nCongress could decide to amend the Former Presidents Act to specify that a president who is convicted after the end of his or her term is not considered to be a former president, and therefore not entitled to the pension, staff, workspace and travel benefits that are included.  \n\nBut if the law was only passed after a Senate trial in which Mr. Trump was convicted, Vladeck said Mr. Trump could argue that the statute couldn't constitutionally be applied to him because it didn't exist when the Senate considered his case.",

When they arrived at the kidnappers’ shrine, he saw the skulls of several people who had been beheaded; and shortly after their arrival, the ritualists began to call their latest captives one after the other to the slaughter slab.\n\nSuddenly, the brother began to speak in other tongues. As he spoke in tongues, one of the ritualists came to shut him up, but he spoke in tongues even louder. While everyone else was enveloped in fear, he spoke out in tongues! Soon enough, pandemonium erupted amongst the ritualists and they kicked him out of their midst. He was freed.\n\nThat brother’s experience reveals what happens when you’re full of the Spirit; you’re bold! At that moment when trouble strikes, the power of the Holy Spirit would rise in you; words will come out of you in torrents of divine energy.\n\nVictory is assured in the fullness of the Spirit. When trouble comes, you’re ready; you’re bold in the day of crisis. The word “judgment” is from the Greek word, “krisis”—the derivative of the English word “crisis.” It depicts a time of intense difficulty or danger.\n\nThere have been times when it was said that a Christian was travelling in a bus, and there was a terrible accident, and everybody died. Was the Christian supposed to die with them? No! He was supposed to have boldness in the time of crisis.\n\nHe could have declared at that moment, “In the Name of Jesus, I’m preserved! I don’t die!” He may not even need to say anything at all, because he was already prayed up before he got on the bus. The Bible doesn’t say, “…that we may shout in the day of crisis”; no, it says we may have boldness in the day of crisis. With that boldness of the Spirit, you’ll prevail, irrespective of the circumstances or crisis. Hallelujah!\n\nCONFESSION:\n\nWith boldness and an undeniable faith, I reign in this life. It makes no difference what I face, I refuse to be anxious or afraid. I declare peace and calmness over circumstances; I’m bold and confident to face life and win, because greater is He that’s in me than he that’s in the world. You don’t have to wait for the government of your country to set things right and make society conducive before you enjoy your life. Enjoying your life is a choice you have to make for yourself, if you really want to have God’s best today and for all time.\n\nLife is a gift, and a calling from God. Everything in life, including the world around you, was created for your benefit. All you need to enjoy life to the full is to be yourself and stay in God’s Word. Jesus said, “…I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)” (John 10:10 AMPC). Think about that!\n\nGod has richly given you all things to enjoy. 2 Peter 1:3 says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.” Enjoy your life to the full; everything you require to that effect has been given to you.\n\nPaul said in 1 Corinthians 3:21, “…all things are yours.” We also read that God has given you richly (not sparsely) ALL things to ENJOY. What you need is to spend time in the Word, to know what’s yours in Christ Jesus, so you can live by His Word and enjoy your life to the full, for His glory.\n\nCONFESSION:\n\nI’ve been called into God’s rest. I take charge of my life and enjoy it to its fullest, for Christ has made me a sharer, partner and participator of the divine nature. Therefore, I take advantage of the immense treasures and blessings of the Christ-life. Glory to God!\n\nFURTHER STUDY:\n\n1 Timothy 6:17 NIV; Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.\n\nMatthew 11:28-30 AMPC; Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest.
