      "body": "I've wanted to be an entrepreneur since I first learned what it meant. Unfortunately, every way I've found to make money has required you to either have a good amount of money or be at least 18. I'm making this post to ask the wonderful people of Steemit for ways, they know of, to make money as a broke 16-year-old. Here is a trip report from a 16-year-old.\n\nTo begin, I'd first like to say that I honestly don't know why I would even attempt this since I spend all my time researching ways drugs can be safe, harm reduction, and a lot of useful drug information. I assume it had to be the perfect scenario for what I was feeling at the time.\n\nPre-Trip:\nIt was about 10 P.M. and I was watching YouTube as I tend to do late at night. I have insomnia and had left over Benadryl that I used to take in attempt to put me to sleep. It never worked. I looked over at it and remembered watching videos of other people's trip reports on it with most of them being bad. For some odd reason, I'd never thought I'd have a bad trip since I'd planned to take a smaller dose than most people. I took the pills and swallowed them each one by one (25mg each) until I had reached 200 mg (recommended dose for beginners). I had read that the onset for this could be from 20 to 120 minutes so I wasn't counting down every second waiting for this to take affect. \n\nThe Trip:\nAbout 40 minutes later, I began to have slight visual distortions, but nothing mentally. The slight movement and shake of objects. I thought that was fine but was waiting for it to really kick in. Not long after, I started feeling an overwhelming tingle throughout my entire body. It was cool at first, but then gradually got more and more intense. Too much to deal with. I tried to think of something else so that I could focus my attention away from the feeling until it got better, but it didn't work. The feelings was simply too much so I tried to go to sleep. It was hard to even get close to falling asleep and I ended up getting up multiple times and going to the bathroom in fear that I might vomit. Thankfully, that didn't happen. After about 3 hours, I somehow managed to get a couple hours of sleep.\n\nPost-Trip:\nWhen I woke up a couple hours later, I noticed I was still seeing everything swaying back and forth a little bit. The whole day, I was VERY clumsy. Almost falling over at times. Something that REALLY bothered me was whenever there was something that even remotely startled me. Every time that happened, I would get that intense tingling feeling again for a little as if I were about to die or something. So every little thing scared the shit out of me. I remember reading about short-term memory loss being common the day after, but I personally didn't experience it.\n\nIt has now been 2 days since my trip and I don't seem to have any of the \"side affects\" associated with the \"hangover\" stage. Again, I don't encourage anybody to try this. I wrote this to maybe inform people who are curious about it as to what might happen. With some of these, it could be completely by accident with opioids being prescribed daily to people with small illnesses. They can quite easily become addicted and when they're prescription is over, many will turn to heroin almost immediately. I'm not saying this is the case for everybody. I live in Canada, and part of the barriers to legalizing weed is that we signed 3 international agreements banning the sale and consumption.\n\nHow oppressive is it to dictate what I do with my own body? How disgusting is it that we throw addicts in jail instead of addressing addiction for what it is, a mental health problem? Why do we continue to criminalize drugs that aren't on the books yet? Three years ago the Canadian government criminalized Salvia. No real problem with it, it's not being widely abused, it's not addictive. But it was a drug they took notice of, and apparently grown adults can't make their own choices.",

      "body": "This post is in direct response to a post made by @blaineb about Oregon's decriminalization of small amounts of meth, cocaine, and heroin. \n\n![drug war.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmRH5MCczDcHscNMMeMKZrYiV53rKoDgtNt6fSsYiBUaJC/drug%20war.jpg)\n\nThe decriminalization of drugs such as meth, cocaine, and heroin is a VERY small start. It won't change the stigma around people who do them. The everyday picture people create in their heads of somebody who does drugs like these needs to change. It can only be changed by the FULL decriminalization of all substances like what was done in Portugal. Addicts are all seen as criminals rather than people who need help.\n\nThe fact that these drugs are illegal in the first place doesn't change how many people do them. There will be people who do them anyway. So with decriminalization, the number of people doing these drugs won't change by much. The war on drugs has only done bad. It's ruined lives and torn families apart. Drug addicts are thought of as lesser beings but we all have the ability to change that.\n\nI encourage everybody out there to do your research! Feel free to leave any thoughts you have or links to research articles in the comments section. It'd be greatly appreciated. Let's have a conversation!",

      "body": "For a long time people have been blindly trusting their doctors to give them the right medicine to treat them. The thing is, even doctors don't always know what they're talking about. I could go on and on about misdiagnosed patients all day, but that isn't the main concern in this post. The reason I'm writing this is because of the huge problems with people being put on antidepressants left and right as if they're miracle pills or something. They aren't for everybody and certain ones can have a high risk factor.\n\nCurrently illegal drugs such as MDMA (commonly known as the party drug \"molly\") and Ketamine have been given the opportunity to treat depression with very limited clinical trials. The problem with these substances being illegal is that it limits the amount of research that can actually be done.\n\nSome patients need help NOW. They're on the brink of suicide and antidepressants won't help them since they take weeks to even take effect. MDMA can help very quickly and might be able to keep the person off antidepressants for the rest of their life. Ketamine can be administered straight into the vein and will take affect in less than 5 minutes. With the experimental trials that have been conducted, some patients have been perfectly happy for the remainder of their life without ever needing another treatment. A common stigma around these drugs is that since they're illegal, they must be bad. That's just not the case. In fact, when in a controlled environment, they can only be beneficial.\n\nThere's so much that can be said about this and I'd be happy to talk more with anybody about this in the comments.",
