| title | Bitcoin Acquisition Guide, Australia and New Zealand Focused (AUD/NZD) |
| body | Hello all! I haven't come across any succinct yet informative guides on buying Bitcoin [BTC] with AUD or NZD yet, so I threw together a summary table and some thoughts about each underneath. If you’re looking to get into BTC or cryptocurrency trading, or just want some BTC, then this info should definitely help (if you have USD you can go straight to the big exchanges [https://steemit.com/exchange/@browncow/comparison-of-fees-of-the-major-exchanges-and-choosing-which-ones-to-use-an-exposition-of-monopoly]). The table below has the main bitcoin exchanges that deal with AUD: What all this means- Deposit (AUD) cost = the amount of AUD it costs to initially transfer (ie deposit) AUD onto that particular exchange site. Deposit (BTC) cost = the amount it costs in AUD to initially transfer (ie deposit) BTC onto that particular exchange site, I'm essentially highlighting the fact that none of them have an extra charge for depositing BTC onto their site (for when you might want to change BTC back into AUD). Buy (BTC from AUD) fee = This is the probably the main determinant in choosing which site to use, this fee is a percentage that the site will take for changing AUD into BTC; e.g if buying $1000 AUD of BTC from the 'CoinTree' exchange, with a 3% buy fee, they will take $30 of your whole transaction, meaning you will only end up with $970 worth of BTC. The red font percentages in the table is what will often apply if you're not trading large amounts. Bonus money for you/me! = essentially referral links that give you/me some extra money for using the links (only added to the table so people who just save the table as an image can realise these exist and reap these extra benefits too). Buy Altcoins (from AUD) = a trading percentage fee for buying altcoins (ie. coins that are not BTC) with AUD straight from a particular exchange. Trading fee (BTC to Altcoin) = a trading percentage fee for buying altcoins with BTC, or buying BTC with altcoins. Sell (BTC to AUD) fee = a trading percentage fee for selling your BTC and turning it back into AUD. Transfer (to another place/wallet) = Amount of BTC it costs to transfer your BTC into another exchange site or into a wallet. Withdraw (AUD) fee = Amount it costs in AUD to transfer AUD from the exchange site into an Australian bank Exchange Summaries: 1. BTCMarkets- Has a fair BTC buy fee (~0.85%), and you're able to trade at a pretty good fee (~0.22%), but limited altcoins. Site has good rep., also you need to go through verification procedures that include an Aus Post letter delivery (takes time but creates good security). https://www.btcmarkets.net/home 2. CoinTree- Has a high buy fee (3%), but everything else is free. Has built in 'shapeshift'. https://www.cointree.com.au/ 3. Independent Reserve- My personal preference, very good rep., very low AUD to BTC buying fee (~0.5%), however can’t trade between Altcoins (but it’s a better option for basically all of these to just buy the BTC then transfer to a major exchange to buy altcoins). Only minor inconvenience is need ID verification and that it’s transfer fee is 0.0001BTC higher than most (~$0.60 AUD). NZ can use this exchange or the Cryptopia Exchange (https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Register?referrer=walkerk). https://www.independentreserve.com?invite=BJSTEF 4. CoinSpot- Pretty high AUD to BTC buy fee (2-3%) and high BTC to AUD fees. However, the website is very easy to use, and it’s a relatively easy to get verified and start using, and also an easy way of immediately getting various Altcoins. Also needs ID and custom photo verification. https://www.coinspot.com.au?affiliate=RK95E 5. CoinJar- Very easy to set up, multiple real world currency, only deals with BTC, has cash/BTC/Hedged accounts all within your own account. Has standard Buy/Sell fees, however also has really interesting ‘Jar Points’, essentially rewards for using their website. If you go via link below, you’ll get 500 Jar Points and I’ll earn some too, they can be used to pay for transactions on their website OR for real life goods via their exchange (includes gift cards, hard wallet, charity donations, various technologies, and other good). https://www.coinjar.com/_ref/@walkerk 6. CoinBase- Great option to get BTC straight away, can just use VISA/Master card, least detailed ID verification of them all, very easy to use website. However, 4% transaction fee for AUD (highest of them all) and $300 weekly cap. Saying that, using the link below it will give you and bonus $10 AUD in BTC when you spend over $100 (and it will help me out a bit too), so if you're only buying a relatively small amount, the free $10 will likely make the 4% transaction fee negligible. https://www.coinbase.com/join/59c05323b2ed9602d16a8457 NB: - It is almost definitely more economical to buy BTC from one of the above exchanges, then transfer it to a more widely used exchange [follow steemit link below] to buy altcoins. - If you have NZD then sadly only a couple of the above exchanges deal with NZD so it may probably be best to go straight to Cyptopia [https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Register?referrer=walkerk]; it's the largest exchange that incorporates NZD and only has a 0.2% trading/buying BTC fee, so very economical) - The major exchange sites and their fees and reviewed here: https://steemit.com/exchange/@browncow/comparison-of-fees-of-the-major-exchanges-and-choosing-which-ones-to-use-an-exposition-of-monopoly Thanks all for reading through, I'll answer any questions as quick and as best as I can (and update the table with any new info that I'm made aware). Happy Buying and Trading! |

The red font percentages in the table is what will often apply if you're not trading large amounts.\n\nBonus money for you/me! = essentially referral links that give you/me some extra money for using the links (only added to the table so people who just save the table as an image can realise these exist and reap these extra benefits too).\n\nBuy Altcoins (from AUD) = a trading percentage fee for buying altcoins (ie. coins that are not BTC) with AUD straight from a particular exchange.\n\nTrading fee (BTC to Altcoin) = a trading percentage fee for buying altcoins with BTC, or buying BTC with altcoins.\n\nSell (BTC to AUD) fee = a trading percentage fee for selling your BTC and turning it back into AUD.\n\nTransfer (to another place/wallet) = Amount of BTC it costs to transfer your BTC into another exchange site or into a wallet.\n\nWithdraw (AUD) fee = Amount it costs in AUD to transfer AUD from the exchange site into an Australian bank \n\n\nExchange Summaries:\n1. BTCMarkets- Has a fair BTC buy fee (~0.85%), and you're able to trade at a pretty good fee (~0.22%), but limited altcoins. Site has good rep., also you need to go through verification procedures that include an Aus Post letter delivery (takes time but creates good security).\nhttps://www.btcmarkets.net/home \n\n2. CoinTree- Has a high buy fee (3%), but everything else is free. Has built in 'shapeshift'.\nhttps://www.cointree.com.au/ \n\n3. NZ can use this exchange or the Cryptopia Exchange (https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Register?referrer=walkerk).\nhttps://www.independentreserve.com?invite=BJSTEF \n\n4. CoinSpot- Pretty high AUD to BTC buy fee (2-3%) and high BTC to AUD fees. However, the website is very easy to use, and it’s a relatively easy to get verified and start using, and also an easy way of immediately getting various Altcoins. Also needs ID and custom photo verification.\nhttps://www.coinspot.com.au?affiliate=RK95E\n\n5. CoinJar- Very easy to set up, multiple real world currency, only deals with BTC, has cash/BTC/Hedged accounts all within your own account. Has standard Buy/Sell fees, however also has really interesting ‘Jar Points’, essentially rewards for using their website. If you go via link below, you’ll get 500 Jar Points and I’ll earn some too, they can be used to pay for transactions on their website OR for real life goods via their exchange (includes gift cards, hard wallet, charity donations, various technologies, and other good).\nhttps://www.coinjar.com/_ref/@walkerk\n\n6. \nhttps://www.coinbase.com/join/59c05323b2ed9602d16a8457 \n\nNB:\n - It is almost definitely more economical to buy BTC from one of the above exchanges, then transfer it to a more widely used exchange [follow steemit link below] to buy altcoins. \n - If you have NZD then sadly only a couple of the above exchanges deal with NZD so it may probably be best to go straight to Cyptopia [https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Register?referrer=walkerk]; it's the largest exchange that incorporates NZD and only has a 0.2% trading/buying BTC fee, so very economical)\n - The major exchange sites and their fees and reviewed here: https://steemit.com/exchange/@browncow/comparison-of-fees-of-the-major-exchanges-and-choosing-which-ones-to-use-an-exposition-of-monopoly\n\nThanks all for reading through, I'll answer any questions as quick and as best as I can (and update the table with any new info that I'm made aware).\n\nHappy Buying and Trading!",

Cryptopia (https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Register?referrer=walkerk)- This is a NZ based company, it will take NZD (for which you will need ID and NZDT/Bank services), probably the best place to get started with NZD. It holds a lot of Alt coins as well as big name coins, and they have their own %E2%80%98Marketplace%E2%80%99 where you can use BTC to buy various goods. Poloniex (https://poloniex.com/)- One of the larger exchanges, has margin trading and lending. I found no definite place that shows a withdrawal fee table, but various forums have pointed to them being relatively low (0.0001 BTC and 0.005 ETH). Fees for trading include ~0.15%25 maker and ~0.25%25 taker, but are outlined in more detail below (not including fees on lending, follow the image source link/navigate to fee page on Poloniex for more details):%0A!%5Bpoloneix fees.PNG%5D(https://steemitimages.com/DQmcp8m65ZSVefeDVrxfR4URftcNvP3VattYPZ8HiTyWCx4/poloneix%2520fees.PNG)%0A - Image from: https://poloniex.com/fees/ %0A%0A11. YoBit (https://yobit.io/?bonus=lLqKn)- A relatively small exchange with some unique tokens, has some gambling/games features on the site. You probably want to trade on the site with the most volume for the coin/token (as you will get a more accurate depiction of the market direction of the coin and your order will often get filled quicker etc.).\n- Details of the most popular/high volume exchange sites with a __wide variety of coins/tokens__ are below (I realise I’ve left out quite a few, most of the other popular ones are in a foreign language), in alphabaetical order.\n- Some links may are affiliated! Happy Trading!\n\n\n1. Binance (https://www.binance.com/)- Very popular site, has own coin (Binance Coin [BNB]), 0.1% trading fees (taker and maker), standard withdrawal fees [table below].\n\n Image from: https://www.bitfinex.com/fees\n\n2. Bittrex (https://bittrex.com/)- Very large trading site, a lot of big names, has 0.25% commission on every trade, standard withdrawal fees (and sometimes more/less depending on network apparently). \n\n3. Bitfinex (https://www.bitfinex.com/?refcode=79a1LX4qIY)- Massive site, fees range from 1-2% and are outlined in more detail below, standard withdrawal fees. \n\n Image from: https://www.bitfinex.com/fees\n NB: When you place an order at the market price that gets filled immediately, you are considered a taker. When you place an order which is not immediately matched by an existing order, that order is placed on the order book. If another customer places an order that matches yours, you are considered the maker (and fees are distributed in accordance).\n\n4. Bithumb (https://www.bithumb.com/)- South Korean exchange, highest volume trading exchange currently, 0.15% taker and maker fees, standard withdrawal fees.\n\n5. Cryptopia (https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Register?referrer=walkerk)- This is a NZ based company, it will take NZD (for which you will need ID and NZDT/Bank services), probably the best place to get started with NZD. It holds a lot of Alt coins as well as big name coins, and they have their own ‘Marketplace’ where you can use BTC to buy various goods. It has 0.2% trading fees, it's a bit slow to deposit/withdraw sometimes and it has 0.001BTC withdrawal fees (but 0.01 ETH withdrawal fees).\n\n6. EtherDelta (https://etherdelta.com/)- A decentralised exchange that uses Ether to trade with various tokens. Kind of slow but uses smart contracts and has a lot of tokens that won’t be found anywhere else. Has an 8 gwei default gas price (for trading and withdrawing) which you can change but it’s recommended you keep it as default. \n[8 gwei = 0.008 micro ether; so you can use 0.008*10^-6 = 0.000000008 ether, then multiply that by the price of ETH; which is normally around $300 USD. So 8 gwei = 0.000000008*300*(amount of token you are moving) = amount in USD it will cost, basically cents.]\n\n7. GDAX (https://www.gdax.com/)- This is a Coinbase affiliated exchange, BTC/USD trading is not available in Australia (and some other parts), but it will still let you trade between ETH/BTC and LTC/BTC. This site only contains BTC, ETH and LTC (as well as USD, EUR and GBP), but has 0% maker fees! As far as I can find there are no withdrawal fees, the other fee's are outlined below:\n\n Image from: https://www.gdax.com/fees/BTC-USD\n\n8. HitBTC (https://hitbtc.com/?ref_id=59dca404b91d0)- Another large exchange, has some smaller coins. An order which will not be executed immediately will be granted a 0.01% rebate on execution [ie the maker]. Orders executed immediately will incur a 0.1% execution fee [ie the taker]. Also, very cheap withdrawal fees (0.0003 BTC and 0.0013 ETH etc.).\n\n9. Liqui (https://liqui.io/)- A moderately large exchange with some of it's own smaller coins. The fees are 0.1% for maker fee and a 0.25% for taker fee. I couldn't track down definite withdrawal fee's but the general consensus across forums were that their fees were slightly above average for some coins (and standard for others).\nSource: https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/liqui-io/\n\n10. Poloniex (https://poloniex.com/)- One of the larger exchanges, has margin trading and lending. I found no definite place that shows a withdrawal fee table, but various forums have pointed to them being relatively low (0.0001 BTC and 0.005 ETH). Fees for trading include ~0.15% maker and ~0.25% taker, but are outlined in more detail below (not including fees on lending, follow the image source link/navigate to fee page on Poloniex for more details):\n\n - Image from: https://poloniex.com/fees/ \n\n11. YoBit (https://yobit.io/?bonus=lLqKn)- A relatively small exchange with some unique tokens, has some gambling/games features on the site. They have a flat 0.2% fee on all trading and have standard withdrawal fees.\n\nThanks for making it through, hope this helped a few people out! I'll try answer questions as fast and correctly as possible.",

| title | Bitcoin Acquisition Guide, Australia and New Zealand Focused (AUD/NZD) |
| body | Hello all! I haven't come across any succinct yet informative guides on buying Bitcoin [BTC] with AUD or NZD yet, so I threw together a summary table and some thoughts about each underneath. If you’re looking to get into BTC or cryptocurrency trading, or just want some BTC, then this info should definitely help (if you have USD you can go straight to the big exchanges). Saying that, using the link below it will give you and bonus $10 AUD in BTC when you spend over $100 (and it will help me out a bit too), so if you're only buying a relatively small amount, the free $10 will likely make the 4% transaction fee negligible. https://www.coinbase.com/join/59c05323b2ed9602d16a8457 NB: - It is almost definitely more economical to buy BTC from one of the above exchanges, then transfer it to a more widely used exchange to buy altcoins. - If you have NZD then sadly only a couple of the above exchanges deal with NZD so it may probably be best to go straight to Cyptopia [https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Register?referrer=walkerk]; it's the largest exchange that incorporates NZD and only has a 0.2% trading/buying BTC fee, so very economical) Thanks all for reading through, I'll answer any questions as quick and as best as I can (and update the table with any new info that I'm made aware). Happy Buying and Trading! |

| title | CWXT Wallet Set-up Guide for Staking [PoS]- Mac Users |
| body | CWXT [CryptoWorld X Token] is an excellent staking coin that's recently been revitalized (case and point = their new website, http://cwxt.io/). With a new development team who appear active, productive and friendly, it would seem there is a bright future for this token. Below is a guide to setting up their wallet. Mac Users: 1. Download the wallet from: http://cwxt.io/ - Either scroll down the website or click ‘WALLETS’ in the top right corner of the home page. 2. After download and installation the wallet may start syncing straight away, however, if this is not the case then you may need to add a file containing a Node List to the wallet application files 3. A node list can be found in the same place you downloaded the wallet OR the most up-do-date one at time of posting should be attached to this discord (https://discordapp.com/channels/365702476789448706/366381341383589888) post OR you can look on novaexchange.com OR you can scan the bitcointalk page for them (https://fireproxy.crushus.com/bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1727707.540), the last list was posted on page 28. 4. If you just downloaded the .conf file straight from the discord/anywhere else, then you only need to save it in the folder outlined in step 6 (don’t worry about opening it up and re-saving etc.) then go to step 8. 5. If you are creating your own .conf file, open up the ‘TextEdit’ program, add the list, then go to the ‘Preferences’ of ‘TextEdit’ and switch to the ‘Open and Save’ section. Under the ‘When Saving a File:’ panel, uncheck the ‘Add “.txt” extension to plain text files’ option. Now save the file as “cryptoworldxtoken.conf”. 6. Save/place the .conf file in ~/Users/ your user /Library/Application Support/cryptoworldxtoken OR go to ~/Users/ your user and press shift+command+G then use "~/Library/Application Support" and save/place into the cryptoworldxtoken folder 7. NB: If you're trying to find 'Library' in this location and therefore not using 'shift+command+G' then you need to have hidden files visible, to do this: Open Terminal (Finder -> Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal), then in terminal, paste the following: defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES - Now press ‘enter/return’. - Hold ‘Option/alt’ key and right click on the ‘Finder’ icon in the dock and click ‘Relaunch’, this should close everything then when it reopens, you should be able to see all hidden files including ‘~/Users/your user/Library’ 8. Once the file is placed in the right place and you have restarted the wallet application it should start syncing 9. To stake, you need to have the wallet synced, encrypted (Look in ‘Settings’ then ‘Encrypt Wallet’ and write down/save you passphrase) and unlocked (‘Settings’ -> ‘Unlock Wallet’). 10. If for some reason the wallet stops syncing, try locking it or restarting the wallet application and just leaving it to do its thing. Leave any questions, I'll try be speedy in replying! | body | CWXT [CryptoWorld X Token] is an excellent staking coin that's recently been revitalized (case and point = their new website, http://cwxt.io/). Leave any questions, I'll try be speedy in replying! | title | Wallet Staking [PoS] Guides (inc. CXWT case example) - Windows Users |
| body | Foremost, I'm not directly affiliated with CWXT or part of their team! I just wrote these previously for them to help others get set up and now I'm giving others here on steemit a template for differing OS wallets (and using CWXT as a case example). There have been no real comprehensive guides like this (to my knowledge) so here we go, follow the square brackets for other coins/wallets: Guide for Windows users- 1. Download the wallet from: http://cwxt.io/ - Either scroll down the website or click ‘WALLETS’ in the top right corner of the home page. [for other coins/wallets, replace with desired wallet website download page] 2. After download and installation the wallet may start syncing straight away, however, if this is not the case then you may need to add a file containing a Node List to the wallet application files [or for other coin wallets you may need to add a .dat file] 3. [node lists or .dat files for other coin wallets will probably found on their bitcointalk pages/their discord/their website/'https://chainz.cryptoid.info/'] 4. If you just downloaded the .conf file straight from the discord/anywhere else, then you only need to save it in the folder outlined in step 5 (don’t worry about opening it up and re-saving etc.) then go to step 8. [if you downloaded the .dat file for other coins/wallets than you will not need a node list but you will still need to put it in the same location indicated in step 5] 5. After finding/downloading the list of 20 or so nodes, open up Notepad, copy and paste them into there, then click ‘SAVE AS’. - Navigate to 'C:/Users/your user/AppData/Roaming/cryptoworldxtoken' [other wallets will have their own end folder here] 6. NB: you need to have hidden files visible to access AppData 7. Now save it as “cryptoworldxtoken.conf” and change the ‘SAVE AS TYPE’ to ‘All Files’ [if using other coin and their node list, save as that coin/token name followed by .conf] 8. Once you have restarted the wallet application it should start syncing. 9. To stake, you need to have the wallet synced, encrypted (Look in ‘Settings’ then ‘Encrypt Wallet’ and write down/save you passphrase) and unlocked (‘Settings’ -> ‘Unlock Wallet’). [should be in similar locations for other wallets] 10. If for some reason the wallet stops syncing, try locking it or restarting the wallet application and just leaving it to do its thing. Leave any questions, I'll try be speedy in replying! I just wrote these previously for them to help others get set up and now I'm giving others here on steemit a template for differing OS wallets (and using CWXT as a case example). There have been no real comprehensive guides like this (to my knowledge) so here we go, follow the square brackets for other coins/wallets:\n\nGuide for Windows users-\n1. Download the wallet from: http://cwxt.io/ \n - Either scroll down the website or click ‘WALLETS’ in the top right corner of the home page.\n[for other coins/wallets, replace with desired wallet website download page]\n\n2. After download and installation the wallet may start syncing straight away, however, if this is not the case then you may need to add a file containing a Node List to the wallet application files [or for other coin wallets you may need to add a .dat file]\n\n3.
