God is a king with unlimited power to do whatever he wants. In biblical times the king had absolute power. He could have people tortured or killed on a whim. God isn't a tyrant but God is a king. There should be reverence in how we act with God. Anybody with sufficient wisdom should fear the consequences of sin. It's best to avoid sin because we love God. Otherwise if we avoid sin out of fear at least you're still avoiding sin.",

      "body": "The word “fear” is generally associated with dangerous or panic situations. As a result, we sometimes have a difficult time understanding what it means to fear the Lord. It is not what we sometimes feel it sounds like. \n\n#### Text: Proverbs 8: 12-19 \n> I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty\ninventions.\nThe fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil\nway, and the froward mouth, do I hate.\nCounsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.\nBy me kings reign, and princes decree justice.\nBy me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.\nI love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.\nRiches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.\nMy fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than\nchoice silver.\n\nSimply put, the fear of the Lord is to hate those things that are evil (Prov. 8:13). It is not cowering in terror that God might strike. Instead, it is a sincere humility that comes from realizing our own sinfulness and unworthiness and knowing that we serve a mighty, holy, just and merciful God who loves us and redeemed us with the blood of his precious son Jesus Christ. These events which takes place in the mind becomes event of reality, if the event goes out from the mind and proceed either in words or actions. Our mind therefore is where all manner of thoughts are conceived either good or bad. Aside, this conceiving ability of the mind, it is also receptive by two receptive organs in the body such as the eye and ear. There is therefore the need to caution ourselves greatly ensuring that our mind is not easily filled with filth which defiles us. There is a saying heard from some in the Lord's church which is \"if it does not defile then it edifies, but if it defiles then it does not edify“. As Christian we must ensure that our heart and mind is pure to conceive pure words that edify rather than defile. \n\n#### Proverbs 4: 23\n> Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.\n\nOur text above explains the insecurity of a person without control, as well as the mind of a person without control. Such mind is penetrable for all kinds of thoughts. Regardless of this state of insecurity, we can control our mind if we choose to. As part of measures to control our mind, we need to be cautious of the things we allow into our mind. The scripture admonishes: “let the word of Christ dwell richly in you in all wisdom...“ (Col 3: 16). We should be careful what we look at or listen to and the way we processed them in our thoughts. Seeing and hearing from Elizabeth further confirmed the words of the Angel Gabriel to Mary. She magnified the Lord and rejoiced in Him because she had been uplifted. An uplifted person is a cheerful person; his spirit has been raised and he has hope. \n\nThe joy of the Lord will make you strong (Neh.8:10). Lack of joy means lack of strength. The hope of a coming change should also cause joy in you. Do not lose your courage; it brings with it a great reward. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit. While Abraham waited on God for Isaac, he grew stronger in his faith and gave praise to God (Rom.4:20). Hannah was no longer downcast when she received the word from E|i, God's servant. \n\nNo matter the gravity of the challenge you face, focus your attention on the God of your salvation. In Him alone is our deliverance, healing, protection and provision. Be full of joy in the Lord always. Iwili say again, be full of joy (Phil.4:4). The Psalmist said: “...Fix my eyes on GOd, soon I'll be praising again. He puts a smile on my face. He's my God (Psa.42:5). Be assured of the presence of the Lord with you; His presence is salvation. He is the EI-Shaddai, I am that I am”, our banner and our righteousness.",
