The lack of a true whitepaper is somewhat eyebrow-raising; instead there are some high-level descriptions of features and a road-map that's heavy on the marketing and awareness but light on the technical details.\n\nLet's get the name out of the way first. Quite frankly it sucks and try as I might, I can't see a future world where we are spending <em>Lindas</em>. At best it's an unprofessional name which lacks proper gravitas, at worst the founder named it after his girlfriend or something. \n\nAs a <em>community-driven</em> coin, <a href=\"https://www.reddit.com/r/Lindacoin/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">/r/Lindacoin</a> currently has 1,880 members and, as a quick gauge of how active the community is,  the last post on the front page was 20 days old (compared to 1 hour for /r/bitcoin and 1 day for /r/ethereum). I lurked the Discord channel for some time and while there was a distinct lack of technical discussion, the community was friendly and welcoming.\n\nThe community went through a bit of <a href=\"https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@pqbd/lindacoin-hard-fork-imminent\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">controversy in early 2018</a> when the founder was rumored to be dumping coins but since being replaced by (current) CEO Jonah Glasgow things seem have to have quieted down. \n\n\n<h4>When Moon?</h4>\nUltimately I see two reasons to invest in Linda. The first is if you missed the DASH rocket and, for some reason, think some residual hype will trickle down to Linda, driving it to outperform.\n\nThe second is if you want to operate a masternode. While operating a DASH masternode is out of reach of most people, a Linda masternode can be stood up \"on the cheap\" with a 44K USD investment (30,000,000 LINDA * 0.001462 USD) at the time of this writing.\n\nThe fact that there are no compelling technical milestones on the road-map is concerning. In lieu of technical developments the team seems to be wholly focused on marketing, merchant adoption, and getting listed on exchanges. Having just one developer on a software project is a yellow (if not red) flag.\n\n<h4>Conclusion</h4>\n\nWill a rising crypto tide lift Linda prices? Sure, but nothing about Linda stands out from the sea of other me-too clones, and thus there's little fundamental reason to believe it will outperform. There are crypto projects out there that are doing exceptional technical work but suffer from lack of marketing effort. Linda on the other hand lives at the opposite end of the spectrum with all marketing, and a more-or-less static product. With a single developer on a team of 9, any development progress will be slow (if at all). \n\nThe sole compelling reason to invest in Linda is if you want to operate a masternode. The website states a 70-99% ROI per year, which is fantastic if sustainable. That said I have to wonder how long a software project without technical progress can last, even one with strong marketing. Given how inactive the Reddit forum is, I also question how effective the current marketing campaign is.",

Behold progress! \n\nThere's the old marketing \"<em>Rule of 7</em>\" which says people need seven exposures or contacts with something before they accept or buy it (if at all). Think back to when you first heard about Bitcoin - even if you were initially enraptured, you probably didn't buy-in on the spot. More likely, you went back and did your own research over days, weeks, or months (all the while racking up exposures) until you established enough comfort level to finally acquire some coins. After that you probably told your family and friends, and the cycle begins anew for them. Now consider this at scale, with awareness spreading across populations. Granted, the vast majority of people won't be interested enough in Bitcoin to research on their own so their exposure points will come from a news article here, and a friend/family/co-worker mention there. Of course, there are people will never \"buy-in\" no matter how many times they hear about it. \n\nLet me remind you, for a span of time in December 2017 Coinbase was the <a href=\"https://www.recode.net/2017/12/7/16749536/coinbase-bitcoin-most-downloaded-app-iphone\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#1 iOS app on the US App Store</a>. I'm willing to bet the vast majority of these new users have yet to buy their first coin (anecdotally confirmed). Instead, they are building up exposure points and looking around for the herd to start moving before they jump in and serve as jet fuel to power the next round of explosive growth.\n\n\n<h4>Institutional Money and Aligning the Regulatory Stars</h4>\nUp until now, the crypto sector has been driven to 0.5 trillion dollar market cap primarily by \"geek money\". Wall Street has finally realized that Bitcoin is \"for real\" and institutions are getting a deluge of interest from their clients. Goldman Sachs will have a Bitcoin trading desk up by <a href=\"http://www.businessinsider.com/goldman-sachs-bitcoin-trading-desk-new-hire-2018-4\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">end of June</a>, and will likely begin real trading by Q4 2018. One of the main hang-ups institutions have is the <a href=\"https://techcrunch.com/2018/02/01/the-sad-state-of-crypto-custody/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">lack of regulated crypto custodian services</a>, but this will be remedied shortly (see <a href=\"https://medium.com/@barmstrong/announcing-coinbase-custody-a-digital-currency-custodian-for-institutions-907166d7af85\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here </a><a href=\"https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-05-13/nyses-plans-physical-delivery-bitcoin-pave-way-major-crypto-adoption\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here </a>and <a href=\"https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-05-09/bunkers-for-the-wealthy-are-said-to-hoard-10-billion-of-bitcoin\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here</a>) which will open the floodgates to institutional money. Michael Novogratz is already <a href=\"http://money.cnn.com/2018/05/09/investing/markets-now-michael-novogratz/index.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">planting the psychological seed</a> for people (and funds) to feel comfortable \"diversifying\" a small portion of their 401K, pension, investments, etc into crypto-assets. \n\nPut yourself in the shoes of an active hedge or pension fund asset manager. You work in an ultra-competitive world looking for any kind of edge you can get. Perhaps you are experiencing huge money outflows due to <a href=\"https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2018-04-23/active-money-managers-are-doomed\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">under-performance</a> or have <a href=\"http://www.santacruzsentinel.com/article/NE/20180206/LOCAL1/180209803\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">gaping shortfalls</a> to fill. Interest in crypto-assets by your clientele is skyrocketing, there's now a regulatory framework from which you can work from, and the general professional sentiment makes it acceptable (if not avant-garde) to dabble in crypto-currencies. Why wouldn't you? Talk all you want about Bitcoin's recent \"crash\" but one year ago on May 15th, 2017 Bitcoin's price was a mere $1772. 400% gains year-over-year is nothing to scoff at and downright mind-blowing when compared to the (exceptional) 21% return from the S&P 500 in 2017.\n\n\n<h4>The Rise of Ethereum and Solving the Scaling Problem</h4>\n\n2017 was the year Bitcoin established a permanent presence in the public mindshare. 2018/2019 will be Ethereum's turn in the sun. Whereas Bitcoin's 2015-2017 positive adoption feedback loop was short-circuited by the lack of scaling, Ethereum's <a href=\"https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/wiki/Sharding-FAQ\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">sharding solution</a> should hit Mainnet within 2 years (my own best guess) and grease the wheels for an order of magnitude jump in adoption. Even Bitcoin's first lightening network implementations are <a href=\"https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-lightning-payments-slowly-becoming-less-reckless/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">just getting off the ground</a> and <a href=\"http://segwit.party/charts/#\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">almost 40% of all transactions are using Segwit</a>, which roughly translates into a best-case 13.3 transactions per second (via my quick back of the envelope math*) or a 35% increase in potential throughput since the December transaction fee debacle. Suffice it to say, the crypto space is much better positioned to welcome a new influx of interest (and money) than before, especially with scaling solutions so close. \n\n\n\n<h3>Final Words and Fearless Predictions</h3>\n\nThe convergence of the Ethereum rumor-driven adoption wave, institutional money, and fundamental technical developments will push the crypto market to new all-time highs by Q1 2019. The next couple of months will include a relatively quick surge to the 11,500 level post-Consensus 2018, and will then bounce between support at the 200-day moving average and resistance at ~15,000 for some time. There will likely be at least one bear trap down to the 50-day moving average before this consolidation phase concludes. The October/November time frame will see the beginning of an euphoria-driven Wave 5 blow-off top (ending around 100,000 USD / Bitcoin) as all those new Coinbase users dust off their accounts and submit market buys in a race to the moon. What happens after that is still fuzzy, but watch this space for future predictions...\n\n\n* If 0% Segwit transactions equates to 8.68 transactions per second, then 100% Segwit adoption delivers 20.325 tx/s.",

      "body": "While <a href=\"https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/7pxg0d/2018_crypto_black_monday/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Crypto Black Monday</a> has come and gone with nary a whimper, the prevailing thought in the Bitcoin community is that we are in a bear market and the other shoe is going to drop any day now. In this article I'll argue why we are still within the bull phase of the current cycle, and what that means for future price action.\n\n\n\n<h2>Bitcoin is still King</h2>\n\n<a href=\"https://blockchainhero.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/king.jpeg\"><img src=\"https://blockchainhero.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/king.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"3089\" height=\"2114\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-66090\" /></a>\n\nDespite historically low <a href=\"https://coinmarketcap.com/charts/#dominance-percentage\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">dominance</a>, the trend within the crypto markets is still set by Bitcoin. As they say, A rising tide lifts all boats and nowhere is this more true than in the crypto space. This latest bull cycle was officially recognized as such in early 2017 when it passed the previous all-time high of ~1200 USD (and in hindsight, actually started after the bottom in 2015) and will also end with Bitcoin correcting in epic fashion, likely by mid-2018 (more on this later). \nSome astute traders will point out altcoins don't typically rise in lock-step with Bitcoin, and actually perform best when Bitcoin's price action is sideways or down. That's true, but it misses the larger perspective that altcoins can only do so within the safety of an overall crypto bull market created by Bitcoin.\n\n\n<h2>Still Bullish (aka Why we are in Wave 4 instead of Wave B or C)</h2>\n\n<a href=\"https://blockchainhero.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/full-moon-moon-night-sky-53153.jpeg\"><img src=\"https://blockchainhero.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/full-moon-moon-night-sky-53153.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1971\" height=\"766\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-66094\" /></a>\n\n<h3>Altcoin Strength</h3>\n\nWhile Bitcoin has traded sideways in the 14K region, multiple altcoins have broken out to new all-time highs (ETH, XRP, DOGE just to name a few). This would not be possible if the crypto-space as a whole were in a bear market. Perhaps one day there will be a true decoupling but for now Bitcoin sets the trend and altcoins follow. Given that Bitcoin leads the market, if altcoins are bullish and making new all-time highs, then Bitcoin simply cannot be in a cycle-level corrective phase. \n\n<h3>The Mainstream Markets</h3>\n\nOne can also consider that when an obsolete company like <a href=\"https://www.theverge.com/2018/1/9/16869998/kodak-kodakcoin-blockchain-platform-ethereum-ledger-stock-price\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kodak can jump 60% after announcing their own cryptocurrency</a>, it shows that the overall environment is still very bullish. Would they have gotten a similar reaction in say, 2015 when Bitcoin prices languished in the 200-300 USD range and <a href=\"https://99bitcoins.com/category/bitcoin-obituaries/2015/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">sentiment was in the gutter</a>? Highly doubtful. Just the fact that a has-been, technology-laggard company would even attempt this is a testament to how hot crypto is right now.\n\n<h3>Technical Analysis</h3>\n\nEverywhere I look I see <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliott_wave_principle\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Elliott Wave</a> technicians saying we are in the corrective phase after Wave 5 peaked just shy of 20,000 USD. Most charts and analysis I've seen places us in either Wave B or Wave C, with the eventual bottom around the 8,000 USD level. This is a very seductive viewpoint (even for Bitcoin perma-bulls) because 1) the bottom is known and 2) what comes after a Wave C bottom? That's right - a new bull cycle.  \n\nAnother aspect is the timing just doesn't add up. If we are truly in Wave B or C that means while the bull market took a better part of a year to play out, the bear market runs its course in just a month or two with no true blood on the streets? Wishful thinking. \n\nFourth waves generally correct 23%-38% and often play out with sideways price action.  If we use 19,891 as our Wave 3 peak, a 23% correction would be ~15,316 and a 38% correction would be around 12,332. While Bitcoin did overshoot the 38% correction by a bit (bottomed ~11k intraday on 12.21.2017) prices have indeed largely been sideways between the 23 and 38% correction levels.\n\n \n\n<h2>Fearless Prediction</h2>\n\nThe market has the uncanny ability to surprise. Given our current situation, what's the scenario that would catch the maximum number of people off guard?\n\nWhile most people are expecting the next leg down, Bitcoin surprises and breaks to the upside. FOMO kicks in and prices reach a new all-time high between 25,000 and 40,000 USD by second quarter 2018. In commodities, Wave 5 is typically the largest impulse so Bitcoin reaching something absurd like $70,000 is not out of the realm of possibility. \nThe crypto markets will settle into bullish complacency as most people will believe this is the start of a new bull cycle. \n\nThe first correction down to 24,000 USD (if coming from 40K) won't dampen spirits and will be seen as a \"buy-the-dip\" opportunity. The rise back to ~34K will be seen as the \"return to normal\" with FOMO driving new money into anything and everything. This will set up an ultimately devastating bull trap. \nAt this point people will be expecting Wave 3 (predictions of 100K+ will be common, Jane Doe will be shilling her favorite altcoin to you on the subway, etc) but what will actually play out is a heartbreaking C wave eventually bottoming around 11K by early 2019. \n\n<a href=\"https://blockchainhero.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/1-5.png\"><img src=\"https://blockchainhero.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/1-5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1130\" height=\"1168\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-66099\" /></a>\n\n\n<h2>Final Words</h2>\n\nDon't tunnel vision too hard on the specific prices or dates as predicting the future is an inexact science to say the least. Focus on the general shape and relative timings of the price action and allow plenty of wiggle room (i.e. if trying to buy the bottom, create several limit buys at staggered levels down to 11K rather than a single limit buy at 11,000). \n\nPredictions are living, breathing things and I reserve the right to change my mind as new data becomes available.",

      "body": "I recently had the bright idea of buying a logo so I took to Fiverr.com with an open mind (and a 20% new buyer coupon code).\n\nI selected a logo designer from the front page with over 250 reviews and an aggregate 4.9 star rating. Suffice it to say,  this person was an established pro. My logo requirements were:\n\n<blockquote>The logo should be slightly whimsical to match the company name but have enough gravitas so that customers would trust the firm to invest their money and/or take financial advice. Everything else I leave up to your creative abilities.</blockquote>\n\nAs part of this, I was really interested to see what I could get from the gig economy for 40 USD (actually $33 after applying the coupon code). The generic logo, the generic text, all made for a very <em>blah </em>sentiment. I considered the 4th and 5th logos acceptable, but not <em>\"wow!\"</em> level, and even a bit disappointing when compared to the logos the designer had advertised as previous work. \n\nInterestingly, at this point I was satisfied enough to take everything as-is despite the fact my purchased bundle included \"unlimited revisions\". By anchoring expectations with the first generic logo, and then providing five total logos instead of just one, the seller was able to invoke a \"<em>got my money's worth</em>\" sentiment. Now compare this result to the scenario where seller only provided the 4th or 5th logos - how satisfied would a customer be? \n\nLooking at the timestamps on the files, I would not be surprised if the first three were purely stock, generic logo templates and the only the last two were actually created as part of this gig. \n\nSo what did I learn? Two important selling concepts can overcome average results:\n\n<ol>\n\t<li>Anchoring Expectations</li>\n\t<li>Under-promising and over-delivering</li>\n</ol>\n\nI'm curious if I would run into the same \"highly efficient, psychology gaming\" approach with a brand new, bright-eyed seller who may not already have a \"system\" in place. My hypothesis is I would get more bespoke, higher quality result. To test this, I just placed a new order with a brand new logo designer. More to come...",
