titleCan Dependency Theory Help Global Inequality?
bodyDependency Theory is an extension of Neo-Marxist ideology developed in the 1970’s that expresses the notion that all developing nations are dependent upon capitalistic Imperial nations for economic sustenance. The theory explains that inequalities are created as a result of economic powers, and has been contributed to by such theorists as Hayter, Harris and Gunder Frank. Primarily it can be said that Dependency Theory suggests that inequalities faced by the developing world originate in the ties of Neo-Imperialism within them. This idea has been explored and developed greatly upon by German Economic Historian and Sociologist Andre Gunder Frank, who believes that the reliance of the periphery upon the core is a result of Imperialist trade relationships. In this view he states in his works that a country economic power determines the extent of control that they are able to exert upon countries that require the economic power for themselves. This can be seen to be effectualized through measures such as outsourcing and acquisition of a nation's material assets, such as Crude Oil, Gold, Diamonds and even Cotton and Coffee. He states that as the Core are unable to produce these goods themselves due to environmental factors and production means, they are taken from the periphery who have the means to produce them at a cheaper more profitable costs to extract true wealth from the countries for their own. However it is so that this view can be contested in the modern era beyond when Frank expressed this notion, as there are multiple initiatives such as Fair Trade that ensure developing nation economies a fair price for their goods and labour and protect the working rights available to those in the periphery, a stance that would be supported by Modernization Theorists such as Rostow. ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmdZunKa5o21Kq51pY7pN9ohNYitQvkpBdcp4Dxedw5S6C/image.png) Another way in which it is Dependency Theory allows us to explain developing world inequality is in the observation of Aid initiatives, and their consequent detrimental effects. It is thought in Dependency Theory that Aid is utilized as a form of extending political control over the receiving nation, and is representative of Neo-Imperialism due to it’s tethering effects on the society. This view is expressed greatly by Teresa Hayter, a prominent Sociologist born to a British aristocratic family, in which she states that Aid is the provision by which a dominant economic power can entrap the growth of a submissive economy. She expresses that an Aid receiving nation is subjugated by the giver of the Aid package, as they will expect a reciprocity of good will to redeem the expense, this being the expenditure entrapment of the receiving nation. An example of this can be seen in the US’s Aid initiative for South Africa in which African nations were contractually obligated to use a majority of the funds to buy American defense and weapons systems. It is also stated by Hayter that the issuing country skims a large portion of the package for their own government expenses, and that the military presence enabled by the Aid package for protecting the democracy of the receiving state allows control of the countries resources. This view faces great contention from the Modernisation Theory however as it is believed that Aid provisions enable the countries receiving to extend their democratic powers and the ability of the state to afford infrastructure and other developments, although many countries like Zimbabwe have been known to use Aid packages for the benefit of corrupt regime leaders. ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmdJQmKUFT7AiYXr5pJR15SRxp4YCcqufzyN3X8rLZLEZt/image.png) Alternatively, another aspect that Dependency Theory outline as being contributive to inequality in the developing nations is the debt that the nations face. It is expressed that loans given to LEDC’s from the world Bank and International Monetary Fund serve only to exponentially increase their financial servitude to the West, and prevent them from allocating fiscal resources to developing their own nations and instead provide wealth to already wealthy institutions after the principal. This is explored greatly by Neo Marxist Gunder Frank, who believed that Western institutions offer the loans as a means of promising integration into the Western economic system. He says that the loans issued are not only detrimental to the sustainability of the developing economy, but that they decrease the prosperity of nations through fiscal dominance. An example of this can be observed in the country of Venezuela, a Latin American Oil producing nation who due to a centralised economy of lessing quality and supply of Oil and excessive debt has depreciated their currency to afford debts by printing excess amounts of cash. This has reduced the Bolivars purchasing power and has caused mass poverty, savings destruction and economic downturn for the country, and Harris would state that this is due to the historical context of the country being largely tribal why it has become so disadvantaged to more technological nations. The IMF predict it to experience 1,000,000% inflation by 2018 December and nearly 40% unemployment, however modernisation Theorist would blame this on an undeveloped infrastructure of economy through lack of diversification, and not the principal debt owed to America. ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmTS6TNj4MAPN4SV9bFZSus9iuq76fe9j6m3SRhPmf7SiP/image.png) In conclusion Dependency Theory is very effective at explaining the inequalities of the developing world, as it can help to identify the control that Western nations are able to exercise over periphery nations as a result of their dominant institutions. It can help to explain financial dominance, economic control, and the social disparity caused by Neo-Imperialism in developing nations, but it fails to consider that many developing nation have the ability and resources for independence, and that many have already attained it such as India. Though it is helpful in understanding how it can prevent weaker countries from advancing to such development through means of unsustainable debt and military and political pressure. "title": "Can Dependency Theory Help Global Inequality?",
"body": "Dependency Theory is an extension of Neo-Marxist ideology developed in the 1970’s that expresses the notion that all developing nations are dependent upon capitalistic Imperial nations for economic sustenance. The theory explains that inequalities are created as a result of economic powers, and has been contributed to by such theorists as Hayter, Harris and Gunder Frank. \n Primarily it can be said that Dependency Theory suggests that inequalities faced by the developing world originate in the ties of Neo-Imperialism within them. \n![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmdZunKa5o21Kq51pY7pN9ohNYitQvkpBdcp4Dxedw5S6C/image.png)\n Another way in which it is Dependency Theory allows us to explain developing world inequality is in the observation of Aid initiatives, and their consequent detrimental effects. This view faces great contention from the Modernisation Theory however as it is believed that Aid provisions enable the countries receiving to extend their democratic powers and the ability of the state to afford infrastructure and other developments, although many countries like Zimbabwe have been known to use Aid packages for the benefit of corrupt regime leaders.\n![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmdJQmKUFT7AiYXr5pJR15SRxp4YCcqufzyN3X8rLZLEZt/image.png)\n Alternatively, another aspect that Dependency Theory outline as being contributive to inequality in the developing nations is the debt that the nations face. titleHow Far is Fiat Money From Being USELESS as a Means of Exchange?
bodySince money has relied solely on it's own properties of trade facilitation in order to be of value it is this aspect of consideration most important to the use of the US Dollar as the reserve currency of the world. As the US Dollar is an established international means of exchange it is not this that I wish to question it's hegemony in world trade, but rather the risk posed to it's effectiveness of a means of exchange due to existential risks within it's economic structure. ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmZctesehV2AakPJGdBCqDekCQwzhkMdrkwScKVxc2QQMy/image.png) The US Dollar itself is such a widely used commodity as a result of peoples trust in it's native economy, the deep liquid bond market that every trade partner is encouraged to participate in, and the mandatory purchase of oil with the US Dollar, which encourages all oil consuming economies to hold large US Dollar currency reserves. Although these pillars of hegemony offer the Dollar a supreme position as the worlds reserve currency, they also provide extensive critical points of structural integrity to the currency regime as a result of being utilized for the most important aspects of trade. Hence if they were to become secondary to a new dominant economy and currency it would be likely that it would cease to operate it's profitable hegemony. A new market for Chinese Yuan denominated oil purchases has been created recently which has diminished slightly the hegemony the Dollar has over international oil purchases. This is the first aspect of the Dollars means of exchange that is threatened by it's dominance. As countries have to subject their native currencies to depreciation a lot of the time to retain competitiveness against the Dollar it can make economizing difficult and costly for trade partners to deal in US Dollars due to the extent of sacrifice required for compatibility. A new denominated oil market will pose a threat to the US Dollar oil market because many trade partners may prove to be economically more proficient if no longer compliant in that regime. This problem is inherent in fiat currency to the extent that one currency can monopolise a certain market or industry due to it's economies dominance, sometimes at the economic disadvantage of a trade partner in order to ensure low import prices and a consumer culture of capitalism devoid of significant economic productivity. No currency should denominate purchases or sales received dictatorially in any market or industry as it is immoral to force such will upon any individual, especially at the disadvantage of his countries competitiveness, and especially if the denomination is intended to continue by force economic supremacy and ultimatum in the world economy a country who by financial decree deems more important their regime, agenda and economy. ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQih3aQSJe2ZSTCWAYKdFUbYykkY8oifiqAUpexe77LWL/image.png) The Dollar alongside all other fiat currencies succeeds as a means of exchange on the national level as a result of their populations trust in it's performance, issuance, and policy centric manipulation, even if they who use it do not understand the dynamics and apparatus utilized in the monetary sphere. This trust is severely misplaced in the institutions that dictate the issuance of worthless currency, and the ignorance to the manipulation of our most important asset of the wider populace is what has let our superiors to take advantage of the powers of money. As the monetary system is now intrinsically valueless and reliant upon it's facilitation of economizing trade for it's success it would not take long for a population to repeal a currency or lose faith in it's utility. For example, it is not granted to those who own capital to legally exchange their equity into Gold through a bank, this process of coverability is no longer ensured by them and so at a point where people decide they want something tangible and intrinsic in value in place of their currency they are mostly unable to do so. As the currency relies upon only itself in todays world it means that there would be no transitory period between a currency crisis and a barter economy. There would be no reallocation of value through precious metals in the time it takes to recover a currency allowing people to keep their wealth and purchasing power, people would go straight to using goods and services as a means of exchanging things of value as they would instantly have nowhere to redeem the diminishing value of their currency in time. As there is no redemption for the loss of value in a paper currency that is losing trust it doesn't take long before the monetary units of the supply are so devoid of purchasing power as a result of low trust that the money ceases to be valid for means of payment and exchange. ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmSPTmuYjUynQ5xYGGYxA5uZjs9W4AcDymRBz22TBV7Gza/image.png) It is this trust alone now that guarantees that our money is a valid means of exchange, for if it was that the entire country uprooted their acceptance of it and the system it represents then it would remain that we have rendered it powerless and therefore invalid as a means of exchange. And this trust is wearing thin by the standards of multiple economists and economizing individuals, who recognise that the inflationary monetary dynamics employed serve only to decrease their savings value, and heighten the costs at which they pay for goods and services beyond the actual trajectory of monetary inflation. New developments in digital currencies and other application of monetary tools have allowed for us to perceive an economic model not reliant on nominal growth at the expense of notional growth in order to create consistent growth and inflation as to offset deflation of the debt burden, which is created by the very expanding monetary base they are using to diminish it! This cyclically expanding monetary base and debt burden due to moneys freedom from intrinsic value is what will erode the means of exchange in any currency, as once the financial reality is attained in prices and purchasing power the people of any given country will refuse to use a piece of paper representing an obligation to their government worth nothing more than a tokenary representation of debt. After economic tribulation significant enough it will be recognized the properties within money that have caused it's demise, and the first we will all notice will be our unconditional trust in veiled powers to control and monopolize it's governance. Until then paper money and fiat currency will remain an effective albeit inefficient means of exchange, as it still allows people to exchange a good or service for it's monetarily representative amount of value, as people still trust their currencies to the extent that they are willing to risk accepting them today in anticipation of them still being valuably viable for payments tomorrow. ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmVfCxwhv9p8FmyDsVAxi8dk9Vej7ZLa2887nSFjzzXpPA/image.png) If you enjoyed this post please consider contributing to my work, I am reliant on your donation to continue my investigation and my work in cryptoeconomics, so any amount is greatly appreciated! titleAn Idea For a New Economic Paradigm
bodyThis post is intended to bring to the theory of economics a new perspective of economic thinking in order to diversify our science and navigate the risks of our current economic systems. Some of this may be considered by many an unrealistic expectation of an economic reality, but new technological progressions and developments among new economic paradigms have permitted a rare opportunity to catalyse change. True economic and monetary reform is now within grasp due to the growth of Anonymous Electronic Cash & Blockchain technology, yet a dominant theory and conceptualization of it’s functional apparatus and infrastructural retention remain to be formed. This is what I seek to do to the extent that further harnessing security and sustainability of a decentralized smart economy can become more understandable, attainable, and utilisable to all economizing individuals. ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmbTFtK3CjzEWevyeV2eGuYc7gCY3ucDJw5hBEur14yxWD/image.png) Developing a more integral structure to a crypto economy is essential in our day and age. Not only is a crypto economy a manifestation of discontent with the reigning economic state, but it is also a universal evolution of the form and functions of a monetary standard. Such as did King Croesus of Lydia circulate gold coins for the first time as currency in 550BC, this new stage of monetary evolution has coincisively begun in the dawn of the technocratic era. A timely event in the sequence of evolution has made opportune itself for capitalisation, and a concentration upon this new paradigm is essential in order to fully invoke and sustain order once again in our economic framework. For too long now even the greatest of minds and strongest of intellects have tusseled with the concepts and notions of Keynesian doctrine and historical theories of little or no relevance to our current economic climate. Much valuable time has been tethered to ideas of no velocity in order to correct the economic system wrought with problems that have been created by the same thinking they are attempting to use in solving them, and consequently an academic amnesia has formed where the reciprocal nature of our failure has meant our judgement and determinative action is based on arduously manipulated & contemporarily incompatible theories, information, calculations, and systemic status-quo's that contribute only to the silent sinking of our supposedly solid economic system. In this book I will stray from these economic status quo’s & suppositions of our time and in striving to draw open the landscape of true economic reality I hope to realize a way for the chaos of impending transition to be logically and effectively mitigated so as to maximally capitalize on the expanded freedoms, liberties and individual sovereignty that this new economic system can bring us. ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmWD5KNodksh4ifsTRkumVuZsS6XY766bNLn8PR1SeSz2L/image.png) Forming a structured and theoretical basis of thought for the conceptualization of a new economic and monetary system is rather unorthodox and has only recently been endeavoured into by experts and professions across the spectrum of the economic field. Much of this content is untenured ground and will itself need much addition and reformation in later years with the further extension of practical experimentation, yet for now simply the establishment of a theoretical basis is required to construct a new economy that is sustainable, healthy and valuable to the world. In ascertaining the true problems with our financial system, we can suspend centralized control of money and consequently decrease leverage against humanity. Identifying the systemic risks of our financial systems and their dependency on ubiquitous money creation for “growth” can help us to better our sustainability of debts and liabilities. But only a new way of thinking can be contributive to the accomplishment of these goals. ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmdb4Vc2CuAsR9oeW64RY87Mvw4iEtcS8FvwTLq5uwzPPD/image.png) Not only has our economic system and apparatus’ become comprehensively utilized by a centralized governing body to effect a synthetic and ethereal world economy based upon debt and credit for growth, but our appointed government bodies responsible for preventing such corruption have been complicit in the charade and knowingly influential in our collective illusion of the true economic situation. This toxic and obfuscative nature of our economic, monetary, political and banking systems has encouraged those in power to manipulate the extent of success that is received by the real economy and increase value of which they can create from nothing intrinsic. Consequent sustainability and success of our economic system is reliant upon the continuation of these institutions and their actions to paper over the cracks in the wall for as long as possible, but the pressure from synthetically creating growth and preventing immanent disaster through means that don’t justify the returns only exponentially grow the magnitude of risk associated with the system for when it collapses. They have put themselves and their institutions survival before those of the common man and have vampired every last ounce of value from the world in order to keep erect their dominance and tryanny, but now with careful intellectualization and theoretical conceptualization it is possible to effect the largest wealth and power transfer for ages seen and once again balance the scales of justice between man and those who he appoints to enact democratic and economic discourse for his own benefit, and that of societies at large. If you enjoyed this post please consider contributing to my work, I plan on completing a book on my new economic theory and your help will be essential to it's completion, any amount is greatly appreciated! titleUniversal Basic Income - A New Age of Free Money?
bodyPeople have made their livings over the centuries by contributing their labor towards specific tasks that produce goods and services marketable to the wider society, in which they exchange their time for currency. This has been the process of income for centuries now, and it is well known that if success and financial comfort or at least plausibility requires an economic input on behalf of yourself. This system has also been one that has worked incredibly effectively for the employee, the entrepreneur, the innovation of industry and the consumer for decades, and has ensured that compensation for labor can be utilized for attaining goods and services of which other entities have created in order to sustain a lifestyle and meet needs. It has encouraged the formation of industry and the innovation of technology and has uniquely contributed to the way in which we utilize human capital to effect beneficially greater society in terms of economic growth and quality of life, however there is a new financial scheme that is being hypothesized that may pose a threat to this capitalistic model of labor. That scheme is Universal Basic Income. ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmcgVKTc1mLAGuaMQEU5PQGmuMx2txT8m5i5APYjkr2wgx/image.png) #### The More We Create the Less Each One is Worth Universal Basic income is a scheme that is being proposed and trialed in a multitude of nations, and offers a new way of people attaining a wage to help them to meet needs and standards. It was borne out of the ideas of the 1960's welfare initiatives that were created to help people living below the poverty line to address wage disparity. The idea states that a Government of either national, regional or local scale can implement for it's constituent citizens a guaranteed basic income regardless of existing wage bracket and societal group of usually £10,000 a year. This would mean for instance that if implemented in the City of London even Investment Bankers making £250,000 per annum with a £100,000 bonus would be just as eligible to receive U.B.I as someone earning £12,000 a year in Asda for example. So overall what we have here is an unconditional state governed wage stimulus that is intended to solve the harmful wage gaps in society and ensure that everyone can meet equitable standards of living regardless of their wage bracket, with the intent of providing people with a means to avoid poverty and financial discomfort. But why is it gaining so much traction in economic discussions and State discourse over the last five years? ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRwGzYZvZsodTkLo4ZhyRutBMwu7x2Drcoi7RVMzryxsJ/image.png) #### Did we Forget Money Doesn't Grow on Trees? Well the answer to this question lies in the future, and with some careful and realistic examination of our cultural and economic situations we can see why it is that so many authorities are desperate to enforce U.B.I as the new norm. Firstly lets consider the implications of a government giving out free money to address a wage income disparity, as it may actually have adverse effects as a result of it's action. If everyone in the UK was to receive U.B.I it would mean that the Government would have to borrow from the Central Bank (if it did not use taxpayer money which would dramatically negatively affect our fiscal deficit) a total of £665,000,000,000 billion which would accumulate £9,309,999,999 billion in interest every year at current 10yr Bond Yield rates(1.4%). This amount is absolutely gargantuan and is evidently going to be massively detrimental to a countries finances and wider economy. This would be so because the amount of monetary expansion caused by this credit formation would be far beyond the justified expansion of economic grounds on which the U.B.I is payed out from. In other words the productivity and spending benefits encouraged by this scheme would not outweigh the costs of stimulating this behavior, and would therefore be economically unsustainable. It would be the same for a country in this situation if a person were to borrow £50,000 a year and only make £40,000, eventually they will go bankrupt and the spending of the borrowed money would have not contributed to the bettering of his economic situation, it would have actually reversed it and made them insolvent. In this instance U.B.I would not be financially beneficial to wider society as the inflation caused by the creation of money to accommodate the expense would not be supported by the underlying economy, and would eventually only serve to partially mitigate astronomical living costs much higher than today's while jeopardizing the democracy of the government to the institutions who issue the credit and hence monetary supply, i.e the Central Banks. ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmaqM8F4Kx3qmrcYqHnHCLuZTD2BBd7nReqwUh4irtGcsF/image.png) #### Countries Whose Jobs Are Most at Risk From Automation Apart from the fact that money not created through productivity and economic contribution will become worthless and an inaffordable expense to a country that relegates power to a central Bank, U.B.I could further effect the sustainability of the economy through a diminishing working class. Imagine a future where you can leave school and know that you can make more sitting at home receiving U.B.I than you can working a job at minimum wage, and because most of the minimum wage jobs are all automated anyway it makes sense just to live in this fashion for free! Of course this does not appeal to a wide majority of people who want to attain further in life and discover new truths and ways of exploring what the world has to offer, but we may not have much choice. In this new technocracy that we are developing it is evident that involvement in the real world is not as heavily valued as it used to be and in a future where robots will become equal in capability to humans that we will not value ourselves as highly as we once did. This in my opinion will lead to a future where we as humans do not have to be directly involved in the sustainability of our economy through work and contribution, and this will be enforced by simultaneous existence of virtual reality world spaces and alternate lives that can be lived outside of our physical dimension. This will be incredibly harmful to the human race as a whole and our value to society, and a reason why U.B.I is being so vigorously pursued by nation States everywhere is because world leaders are aware of our prospective obsolescence in the economy due to the automation of jobs and services. While productivity will be sustained and even improved by automation we need to consider the fact that we will not receive the benefit of this efficiency, and we will further retract into virtual existence to escape the voided being without purpose in the real world. Work is not only valuable economically but also personally and provides intrinsic value to life, U.B.I will not only encourage people to transition out of the workforce prematurely but will when automation is comprehensive ( A.I takes your order & drones cook & serve your food) encourage people to become non productive and non contributive members of society who add no value to the overall economy. ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmV9CGN8ksxhooJhk2vLgsvAaeCNLEUfCyMPSxrE5Fe4gV/image.png) #### In a World Focused on Developing a Fake Reality, Our Value in the Real One Lessens So in conclusion we can see the intent of U.B.I is not only intended to address a wage gap but is also a means of providing people with a wage when there is no longer any jobs for them left to fulfill in the overall economy. It is a protectionist measure designed to help people keep pace with society when it outgrows their utility and provide them with barely sufficient means to maintain a healthy lifestyle. In the coming years it will prove to be a wage multiplier as people still occupy work and contribute to the economy, but as minimum wage jobs are relegated to more efficient and cheap automation it will remain for many the only source of income. It will prove to be fiscally unsustainable as its provision entails no economic creation from recipients, and will only further debt burdens and inflationary pressures to the point where it will itself not be able to meet the demands of human requirement. Free money is always detrimental to the society that creates and provides it especially when it is not created through actual economic output of the recipients, and it will be a major driving force in the adoption and acceptation of our exclusion from the menial workforce. Many people know that this is the course that it will take us in the future and countries like Switzerland voted 76.9% against U.B.I in 2013. So when it is challenged to be implemented as a measure to address wage gaps and need attainment just think of the erosion of value that this will have on your native currency and economy, and how much more worthless you as a citizen will become to the government and industry who gain no output from your being and categorize you as merely an expense. This is the future of the humanless economy and it is coming, just be aware and recognize the factors of it taking place in society today so that we can ensure our value in society tomorrow. #### Let me know what you think of this situation in the comments below and tell me your opinion on whether you would favor Universal Basic Income or not. titleWhy Political Correctness is Fascism in Disguise
body#### Introduction Hello all, I must warn you that in this post there may be some rather sensitive issues to some of you, so I would like to offer my most humble trigger warnings to those of you out there who prefer to judge truth based on what you "feel" rather than what actually is. So without further a do, lets begin by examining what fascism actually is, as it seems to be one of those words that people like to hurl about without even knowing its definition or relative context. Fascism is a political ideology that forces people to live by the state for the state and decimates any oppositional ideology or politics through collective indoctrination and fear of authority. This a broader meaning of the term "Fascism" in it's political context as it had originally risen from the left wing dictatorship of Mussolini and was further adopted primarily by left wing parties in China, Russia, Cambodia and other countries of Asia and Eastern Europe. Now how does this relate to Political Correctness i hear you ask. Well it relates like it's sibling in fact, and it couldn't be closer to imposing a fascist state of government and ideology as it is in our current day and age. Political Correctness is a form of disillusion - enforced - confusion that has spread across the West and encouraged society to silence itself on the issues that matter most to human sovereignty, all while making people think they are championing a new age of "enlightenment". It has done this through imposing fear of being viewed as closed minded by the crowd, ridiculing free though not using Politically Correct ideological overtones and language, and making people think that boundaries such as opposing gender neutral toilets are infringements upon human rights. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmRgNe1LgqcT3xhEZ3QQGk99iNL4BWmEFCF8XhBLs8Y2oj/image.png) Firstly, let's look at Political Correctness itself. Political Correctness is a school of thought that develops language, policies, or measures that are intended to avoid offense or disadvantage to members of particular groups in society, mainly minority groups. All seems fine and innocent here, but focus on the language of "offense", which may seem trivial but on an intrinsic level opens up societal discourse to extreme measures of obfuscation and inequality. The effect that this has is that we are able to be objectively manipulated and restricted as a society in our individual expression and freedom as we conform to subjective offense. Not only is this offense enhanced by the very nature of PC culture, but it is encouraged by it and also desired by many of its followers. Many of them aren't very serious about the issue and don't know of it's systemic effect on society, but many of the PC cultures collective group are searching for an environment in which to project their own problems on the world through peer pressure & government policy. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmWWVBJ36kHBCCLxRHrurLqKbE87gzuswNmUiQKKWUyX78/image.png) #### What is it Doing to Society? It is making people think of each other in their segregative groups based on ethnic, sexual, gender and religious groups. It compartmentalizes women, men, black, Chinese, gay, lesbian, or transgender groups based on their physical attributes and without considering their individuality as a human being, essentially boxing people up based on their objective appearances. It then by classification of victim hood adopting cultural Marxism to ensure that people objectively treat eachother based on their physicality, not the actual personality traits of a good person. This can be seen in the protection of Israel by the UK & US Governments and media in the case of them committing genocide upon Palestinians - It doesn't matter that Israel is genocidal and indoctrinating it's population into a state of racial supremacy, they can't be spoken out against because they are Jewish and you are therefore "Anti Semetic" - Israels Government knows this and is taking advantage of the holocaust in order to advance their own Fascist state. This essence of labeling and compartmentalizing minority groups allows society to be manipulated in it's perception of events and conduct by making people afraid of being "offensive"and therefore restricting their freedom of speech in fighting critical issues. This intense obsession by treating people by the standard of their group identity is prejudice and allows disadvantage through dis-acknowledgement and achieves exactly what it is that PC culture claims to oppose. It makes the people police each other and their own language and silence opinion and fact that exposes true oppression by labeling it "offensive". ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmTSg9WtMTd34xueTYzSoX6MGSmBoedDxfrXksFhik9DCU/image.png) This culture of PC has grown very fast and this has been no mistake, with media pundits, news, TV programmes, schools, doctors and even government policy all being geared to be "inclusive" and "progressive". Of course they are progressive, but the state of affairs that they are bringing about is of not benefit to human society or free though and expression at all. A society that is progressively more disconnected through technology and the widespread influence of the internet has voided much purpose in life, and will transfuse into a situation where the disparity caused by this disconnection with ourselves as humans will manifest into distorted "inter connectivity". This distortion has manifested as our current perception of diversity and inclusiveness, but now that everyone has their own box, identity and cover from criticism through PC culture we are more separated than ever based by our physical identities. This can be observed within a Black Lives Matter campaign in an American event on "equality" stating "no whites" were allowed, and people who wear and celebrate clothes of another country being accused of "cultural appropriation". Shelley Garland, a prominent Feminist activist stated "some of the biggest blows to the progressive cause these past years can be attributed to the voting of white males". So you see here, how PC culture ignores it's own principles of unconditional equality when it comes to so called "privileged" groups, and by it's very definition is misleading and vindictive to the opinion of these groups. Garlands reasoning is exactly the thinking that was used to prevent women from voting as they were wrongly considered to be a negative effect on the democratic process, but Feminism is allowed to advance this same philosophy upon men and not be viewed as sexist? This is the "oppressed" becoming the oppressors, and instead of exposing and denouncing bad ideas with good ones they simply censor them and criminalize those who oppose this dictatorship of linguistic fascism. Diversity has now become Group Think & denouncing anyone who doesn't toe the line. This was exactly how Hitler and other dictators control the minds and limit the perceptions of their masses, and most of the time they fool everyone so well that we force each other to conform by their Fascism! (Which is what PC is doing!) ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmNqamc5VUWUSWakLrNYb6SauVpKH8zMCHpeCzEy6qJxSR/image.png) This is most dangerous however because of the impact that this culture is having on university campuses around the world. Gender studies classes, equality programmes and "safe spaces"(essentially places for people who can't stand reality and would rather ignore the world and be coddled by false ideology) have been developed to structure the mentality of the new elite working forces to adopt these divisive practices. They do not teach "Mens" studies by the way, but rather focus on Female and Transgenders to teach people to be considerate and open minded about matters - Yeah very open when you selectively fail to include all Genders in a Gender studies class, might as well teach History without WW2! The cognitive dissonance of claiming inclusivity for while exercising exclusivity is just the start, these classes go to the point where students are infantilized from making their own decisions and instead filter reality through a constructed lens that only perceives race, gender, religion, and anything except from the human being underneath it. This means that jobs are given to those who can increase "minority employees" regardless of their ability to perform, laws are created like Canada's Bill C-16 that enables people to be arrested and convicted for hate speech if they do not address people with their chosen gender pronouns, another example of how this agenda restricts freedoms based on subjective impersonalities and threatens prison if you don't obey. Children as young as four are now taught in schools about gender fluidity and other sex related issues before they are even able to naturally comprehend or decide these facts for themselves in a logical fashion. This leads to incredible confusion and disillusion about the biological realities of gender and ignores boundaries that should be applied to young children, but as they are not we now have increasing amount of prepubescent children taking sex changing hormones and other drugs making potentially regrettable life changing decisions when they never were before. But to question such matters being taught to children and to question encouraging them to debate their own gender identity would be considered "anti-diversity" and "discriminatory" by PC cultures. It would not be considered dangerous to the mind and body of the child who has no way of fully comprehending what they are doing, it would just be "progressive". ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmegpyXatLP2hHcVGSFfafDuSsh4Z2tin6zhA56P7vDoTA/image.png) Overall the Fascism of Political Correctness can be seen to be manifesting in society in education, the workplace, halls of law, politics and even the civil discourse of human interactions. It demeans our human rights and forces us to divide and rule ourselves based on cultural, ethnic or any other physical significance. It censors free speech through the demanding of a new language designed not to offend and by reactionary individuals who condemn you for "hate speech". It censors free thought from a young age as people are now being taught to think with an ideological filter that ensures they won't attempt to decode "controversial" subjects due to fear of progressive peer pressure and realize real inequalities. It censors free expression by making us conform to the idea that celebrating alternative cultures music and dress is racist and "cultural appropriation". This ideology is designed to progress exclusivity and privilege at the expense of majority groups, it is tyranny by minority - except they too suffer their own self enforced ideological prison. Instead of pursuing equilibrium division is created by punishing those whose ancestors have committed crimes against humanity, and allowing those oppressed to become the new oppressors of language and freedom. Merely tyranny is allowed to be transferred to a group that we are told cannot be tyrannical, so it becomes a Trojan horse to our individual freedoms. We need to be aware and thoughtful of "progressive" causes and Politically Correct enforcement, as we endanger changing society and breaking boundaries necessary to retain public order in a way that we can never change. Not all change is good, even the Nazi party was considered a progressive cause in it's day against the oppression of Communism and look how much German people and war victims suffered as a result. We risk our civil liberties and freedom of speech by trusting so much cultural power to Political Correctness, and we need to observe consciously it's causes for what they are underneath, and not just how "progressive" they are. And just to prove that Political Correctness and those behind it do not care about people and use it to manipulate and control humans into policing themselves, here is the following discriminatory statement. https://steemitimages.com/DQmPxLbzCQpEcn8RDHLHktvS1Pjmn4xi89hbNkV5JtJYKXi/image.png And this last picture shows the discrimination brought out by Politically Correct causes funded by these psychopathic billionaires, as it depicts a post made by Toronto's Black Lives Matter racist campaign leader. But i will not cry outrage and offense as I see this racist picture, as Hypatia who was a female and ancient Egyptian mathematician, astronomer and philosopher once said "It is best to have even a bad thought, than to not think at all". ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmbWT3YtZoTL9uXCm64QHf3iye72pXEtWYJ5pNRZWMAq2Z/image.png)

"body": "#### Introduction\nHello all, I must warn you that in this post there may be some rather sensitive issues to some of you, so I would like to offer my most humble trigger warnings to those of you out there who prefer to judge truth based on what you \"feel\" rather than what actually is. So without further a do, lets begin by examining what fascism actually is, as it seems to be one of those words that people like to hurl about without even knowing its definition or relative context. \n\nFascism is a political ideology that forces people to live by the state for the state and decimates any oppositional ideology or politics through collective indoctrination and fear of authority. This a broader meaning of the term \"Fascism\" in it's political context as it had originally risen from the left wing dictatorship of Mussolini and was further adopted primarily by left wing parties in China, Russia, Cambodia and other countries of Asia and Eastern Europe. Now how does this relate to Political Correctness i hear you ask. Well it relates like it's sibling in fact, and it couldn't be closer to imposing a fascist state of government and ideology as it is in our current day and age. Political Correctness is a form of disillusion - enforced - confusion that has spread across the West and encouraged society to silence itself on the issues that matter most to human sovereignty, all while making people think they are championing a new age of \"enlightenment\". It has done this through imposing fear of being viewed as closed minded by the crowd, ridiculing free though not using Politically Correct ideological overtones and language, and making people think that boundaries such as opposing gender neutral toilets are infringements upon human rights. \n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmRgNe1LgqcT3xhEZ3QQGk99iNL4BWmEFCF8XhBLs8Y2oj/image.png)\nFirstly, let's look at Political Correctness itself. Political Correctness is a school of thought that develops language, policies, or measures that are intended to avoid offense or disadvantage to members of particular groups in society, mainly minority groups. All seems fine and innocent here, but focus on the language of \"offense\", which may seem trivial but on an intrinsic level opens up societal discourse to extreme measures of obfuscation and inequality. \n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmWWVBJ36kHBCCLxRHrurLqKbE87gzuswNmUiQKKWUyX78/image.png)\n#### What is it Doing to Society?\nIt is making people think of each other in their segregative groups based on ethnic, sexual, gender and religious groups. This can be seen in the protection of Israel by the UK & US Governments and media in the case of them committing genocide upon Palestinians - It doesn't matter that Israel is genocidal and indoctrinating it's population into a state of racial supremacy, they can't be spoken out against because they are Jewish and you are therefore \"Anti Semetic\" - Israels Government knows this and is taking advantage of the holocaust in order to advance their own Fascist state. This essence of labeling and compartmentalizing minority groups allows society to be manipulated in it's perception of events and conduct by making people afraid of being \"offensive\"and therefore restricting their freedom of speech in fighting critical issues. This intense obsession by treating people by the standard of their group identity is prejudice and allows disadvantage through dis-acknowledgement and achieves exactly what it is that PC culture claims to oppose. It makes the people police each other and their own language and silence opinion and fact that exposes true oppression by labeling it \"offensive\". \n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmTSg9WtMTd34xueTYzSoX6MGSmBoedDxfrXksFhik9DCU/image.png)\nThis culture of PC has grown very fast and this has been no mistake, with media pundits, news, TV programmes, schools, doctors and even government policy all being geared to be \"inclusive\" and \"progressive\". Of course they are progressive, but the state of affairs that they are bringing about is of not benefit to human society or free though and expression at all. A society that is progressively more disconnected through technology and the widespread influence of the internet has voided much purpose in life, and will transfuse into a situation where the disparity caused by this disconnection with ourselves as humans will manifest into distorted \"inter connectivity\". This distortion has manifested as our current perception of diversity and inclusiveness, but now that everyone has their own box, identity and cover from criticism through PC culture we are more separated than ever based by our physical identities. This can be observed within a Black Lives Matter campaign in an American event on \"equality\" stating \"no whites\" were allowed, and people who wear and celebrate clothes of another country being accused of \"cultural appropriation\". Shelley Garland, a prominent Feminist activist stated \"some of the biggest blows to the progressive cause these past years can be attributed to the voting of white males\". So you see here, how PC culture ignores it's own principles of unconditional equality when it comes to so called \"privileged\" groups, and by it's very definition is misleading and vindictive to the opinion of these groups. Garlands reasoning is exactly the thinking that was used to prevent women from voting as they were wrongly considered to be a negative effect on the democratic process, but Feminism is allowed to advance this same philosophy upon men and not be viewed as sexist? This is the \"oppressed\" becoming the oppressors, and instead of exposing and denouncing bad ideas with good ones they simply censor them and criminalize those who oppose this dictatorship of linguistic fascism. Diversity has now become Group Think & denouncing anyone who doesn't toe the line. This was exactly how Hitler and other dictators control the minds and limit the perceptions of their masses, and most of the time they fool everyone so well that we force each other to conform by their Fascism! (Which is what PC is doing!)\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmNqamc5VUWUSWakLrNYb6SauVpKH8zMCHpeCzEy6qJxSR/image.png)\nThis is most dangerous however because of the impact that this culture is having on university campuses around the world. Gender studies classes, equality programmes and \"safe spaces\"(essentially places for people who can't stand reality and would rather ignore the world and be coddled by false ideology) have been developed to structure the mentality of the new elite working forces to adopt these divisive practices. They do not teach \"Mens\" studies by the way, but rather focus on Female and Transgenders to teach people to be considerate and open minded about matters - Yeah very open when you selectively fail to include all Genders in a Gender studies class, might as well teach History without WW2! The cognitive dissonance of claiming inclusivity for while exercising exclusivity is just the start, these classes go to the point where students are infantilized from making their own decisions and instead filter reality through a constructed lens that only perceives race, gender, religion, and anything except from the human being underneath it. This means that jobs are given to those who can increase \"minority employees\" regardless of their ability to perform, laws are created like Canada's Bill C-16 that enables people to be arrested and convicted for hate speech if they do not address people with their chosen gender pronouns, another example of how this agenda restricts freedoms based on subjective impersonalities and threatens prison if you don't obey. But to question such matters being taught to children and to question encouraging them to debate their own gender identity would be considered \"anti-diversity\" and \"discriminatory\" by PC cultures. It would not be considered dangerous to the mind and body of the child who has no way of fully comprehending what they are doing, it would just be \"progressive\". \n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmegpyXatLP2hHcVGSFfafDuSsh4Z2tin6zhA56P7vDoTA/image.png)\nOverall the Fascism of Political Correctness can be seen to be manifesting in society in education, the workplace, halls of law, politics and even the civil discourse of human interactions. It demeans our human rights and forces us to divide and rule ourselves based on cultural, ethnic or any other physical significance. It censors free speech through the demanding of a new language designed not to offend and by reactionary individuals who condemn you for \"hate speech\". It censors free thought from a young age as people are now being taught to think with an ideological filter that ensures they won't attempt to decode \"controversial\" subjects due to fear of progressive peer pressure and realize real inequalities. It censors free expression by making us conform to the idea that celebrating alternative cultures music and dress is racist and \"cultural appropriation\". We need to be aware and thoughtful of \"progressive\" causes and Politically Correct enforcement, as we endanger changing society and breaking boundaries necessary to retain public order in a way that we can never change. Not all change is good, even the Nazi party was considered a progressive cause in it's day against the oppression of Communism and look how much German people and war victims suffered as a result. We risk our civil liberties and freedom of speech by trusting so much cultural power to Political Correctness, and we need to observe consciously it's causes for what they are underneath, and not just how \"progressive\" they are.\n\nAnd just to prove that Political Correctness and those behind it do not care about people and use it to manipulate and control humans into policing themselves, here is the following discriminatory statement. \nhttps://steemitimages.com/DQmPxLbzCQpEcn8RDHLHktvS1Pjmn4xi89hbNkV5JtJYKXi/image.png\nAnd this last picture shows the discrimination brought out by Politically Correct causes funded by these psychopathic billionaires, as it depicts a post made by Toronto's Black Lives Matter racist campaign leader. But i will not cry outrage and offense as I see this racist picture, as Hypatia who was a female and ancient Egyptian mathematician, astronomer and philosopher once said \"It is best to have even a bad thought, than to not think at all\". \n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmbWT3YtZoTL9uXCm64QHf3iye72pXEtWYJ5pNRZWMAq2Z/image.png)",

titleThe Cost of Life - How Will it Look in the Future?
bodyThe cost of living has been a concern for everyone in society who is within the average median wage bracket. As real wages have failed to grow for the last 18 years against the pressures of monetary policy induced inflation it means that the true cost of things in relation to what you have to afford them is drastically increasing. We can all feel the extra expenses of our rents, mortgages, car payments, material goods and even at the local grocery shop for a pint of milk, yet the question has to be asked . . . Will this growing disparity of the purchasing power of wages continue to fall moving into the future, and how will the cost of living morph in this time? Will the costs we encounter become more intuitive to us, or will they further extend from our reach? In this brief post i will explore two examples of where the highest living costs we face in the modern world may dissolve into obscurity in the future, and where costs are no longer a concern for everyday essentials. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmV5b6Pagg4SsAFJnkPrPx6B815mwGUZCFomdppFPXBUh7/image.png) #### Housing Costs The first example that i will examine is the average housing costs for a citizen in the United Kingdom. As one of the most expensive assets a person can acquire in their lifetime it is of priority to everyone in the world to own or at least rent a home. We can spend our entire lives working to afford a dream home or plan our very careers on the assumption of the type of assets that we want to own in the future. Owning a home is encouraged by the Government and society in general as it implies that you are an effective working citizen, and have a real stake in the economy of which we all live that provide you sustainable warmth, comfort and protection. Yet society forgets to tell you that the expense of owning a home is becoming increasingly astronomical in relation to the money that people receive for their labor. Along with increasing borrowing costs of owning as well this can bring the average housing costs for a citizen up to £221,000, which is again even harder to pay for as a young person who has student loans, bad credit as a result and no savings to afford a deposit on the property. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYVTNFzPNU4k6nTGBNMi3d3a3dvzUGAzfwS7jBDw5cYLq/image.png) So what exists to ease this type of economic pressure facing homeowners in the 21st century? House prices can't continue to inflate in this manner - going back to 1960 where average house costs were £3600 and average annual wage was £960, meaning earnings to house price was 1:4, whereas no it is 1:10 and mostly more. Well luckily as can be examined historically technology creates great efficiencies for the economy and it's citizens as progressions are made translating to higher quantity of quality at a lessening cost. This quality inflation offset by price deflation is known as Moores Law, and is set to potentially disrupt the housing market very soon using 3-D printing technologies. This previously theoretical idea of printing houses has now been materialized in Russia where a company built an entire house on site in less than 24 hours. Mobile 3-d printers capable of constructing with a multitude of materials can be used to construct the entirety of a house including windows, doors, walls, partitions and roofs using a plethora of materials including wood, glass and metal. This is a creative solution to housing crises in many countries and can be used to provide the supply of homes for the increasing demand of people looking for inexpensive living quarters. As homes can be created centrally on site in their entirety, this cuts out many stages of the manufacturing process required for building homes. This can reduce the inefficiencies of construction and also increase the value chain of the business models too, all while providing consumers with low housing prices due to the lower margins required for profits. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQme1Mfbe3DHm32UihHUherVLu6nMLPToEbwfhwPszqZNmJ/image.png) #### Energy Consumption Another cost that has a bright future is that of energy. As it currently stands alternative and renewable energy is either more expensive or just as expensive as creating energy using coal or fossil fuels, making it usually the second choice of homeowners and businesses alike as their source for electricity. However due to an incredible scaling in the technologies potential and an ever increasing costs of finding, extracting and producing energy using traditional fuels there is a high chance that renewable energy will become the more financially feasible option in the future. Not only is renewable energy contributing the most to added power capacity but it is set to experience also the largest growth in heating generation too. These overall market developments and a combination of high private and public investment in renewable energy infrastructure development will contribute to excessively lower prices in the energy market. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmd7hVe1tks2zkiKCyB9HaMkTDZP6QadRBjdvH1PR6yvML/image.png) Contrary to belief, using renewable energy is not determined so that we can produce less energy and do more with it, it is actually to produce more energy at a higher efficiency rate. Due to increasing demand for computing power, data storage, electricity grid development and more it is ever more essential that in this digitizing world we work to develop not only more energy, but more sustainable ways of producing it. As demand for energy is only going to increase in the future there will inevitably be a necessity to use renewable's to do so, as any other method incorporated to develop higher power capacities would be detrimental to our environment. Solar costs have already dropped 75% since the 1998, making it now cheaper without subsidies than coal and nuclear power generation though there are still some inadequacies that are to be addressed of the technology. However the actual costs of producing power in this way might one day be so low due to the efficiencies achieved at being able to fully utilize the photo voltaic power of the sun that it may be virtually free to use, as an abundance of technology, essentials and housing make the costs of life that much more insignificant. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmPg8z4VwzQ72LEzoW5titR5hnxJzdCDPhbdDfSoyexaSb/image.png) These two ideas may seem rather far fetched but they are happening now and will be completely operation within a decade. Just imagine if you were told in 1918 that in 2018 we could talk to people countries away from us on a handheld device, have indoor heating and free healthcare, use computers to solve problems of the future and be able to play games in a virtual reality. You'd think it was mad, but as technology has proven it's own development translates into our quality of life and abundance of well being and this will continue to be so even more into the future. It won't by any means be a Utopian paradise yet it will allow us to focus on the things that truly matter in life, without having to stress ourselves over how we are going to afford it all. "title": "The Cost of Life - How Will it Look in the Future?",
"body": "The cost of living has been a concern for everyone in society who is within the average median wage bracket. \n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmV5b6Pagg4SsAFJnkPrPx6B815mwGUZCFomdppFPXBUh7/image.png)\n#### Housing Costs\nThe first example that i will examine is the average housing costs for a citizen in the United Kingdom. \n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYVTNFzPNU4k6nTGBNMi3d3a3dvzUGAzfwS7jBDw5cYLq/image.png)\nSo what exists to ease this type of economic pressure facing homeowners in the 21st century? \n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQme1Mfbe3DHm32UihHUherVLu6nMLPToEbwfhwPszqZNmJ/image.png)\n#### Energy Consumption\nAnother cost that has a bright future is that of energy. \n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmd7hVe1tks2zkiKCyB9HaMkTDZP6QadRBjdvH1PR6yvML/image.png)\nContrary to belief, using renewable energy is not determined so that we can produce less energy and do more with it, it is actually to produce more energy at a higher efficiency rate. \n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmPg8z4VwzQ72LEzoW5titR5hnxJzdCDPhbdDfSoyexaSb/image.png)\nThese two ideas may seem rather far fetched but they are happening now and will be completely operation within a decade. \n\nCheck out my last post about the End of Ownership in the 21st Century and let me know what you think living costs will be like in the future!\n\n#### Last Post\nhttps://steemit.com/politics/@blockchainboom/the-end-of-ownership-in-the-modern-century",

titleThe End of Ownership in the Modern Century
bodyWe love to own things as humans, to place our claim upon something. It feels empowering and gratifying to see our hard work materialize in a tangible asset, that provides material wealth to our lives. Even if this is just our new washing machine it is a clearly optimal feeling to provide ourselves with a more convenient way of living, but will this last forever? Of course we won't just retract to the wildlands with recognition in our minds to adapt to primal living, but will it one day be to much of a burden upon our beautiful planet to own things, and consistently produce new things to own? http://realtybiznews.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/ct-us-homeownership-rate-20160728.jpg This is both an economical and philosophical question plaguing the fatiguing manufacturing and retail industries of many products, and has spurred some pretty creative solutions to be derived from great minds of our time. But before we explore we have to know why owning items is damaging to the ecosystem. And it is not the problem of the people who own products, but of the companies that force feed low quality replications of face lifted technologies to customers every new fiscal quarter. And it all begins with the way that products are designed from the beginning. Planned obsolescence means that now most products are designed to break after certain periods of time or when new software is implemented to technologies, constant innovation of everything has drastically limited lifespans of products from decades to mere months and years. Products are built to last only until the new one releases, and is used as a reciprocal revenue model encouraged by fear of insignificance in consumers to constantly update their items to the new thing. This has created incredible amounts of waste and environmental damage, while inhibiting true innovation to take place and ensuring that quality is the lowest of priorities. Of course this keeps unit and production costs low but sales high as customers constantly purchase the new model of car or phone to remain relevant, all the while old products are thrown away, not effectively recycled or anticipated to be used for renewable projects. http://www.postlandfill.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/PlannedObMeme.jpg This culture of here today gone tomorrow is not something that can last sustainably, and while we are guests on this earth it's time that we start to democratize the way that we use products and consider how they are created and disposed of. A new economic principle has been born that demands to reverse the way in which we consume products in the future, and the ways in which companies develop and produce them. This new principle states that instead of buying a product to own it, we will now rent it to use it. This may seem socialistic at it's most omnipotent but it makes very good sense as for companies to maximise their profits they will have to create products of high quality that last very long amounts of time, not low quality with short lifespans. Not only will this relieve customers of the expense of products in the long run but will also allow companies to refine their manufacturing processes and decrease market pressure that demands constant new products be devised. Helping to encourage them to make the best of what they can right now, instead of drip feeding it throughout multiple product lines that create excess waste and hyper obsolescence. One of the obvious advantages of this innovative economic model is the fact that material consumption for product manufacturing will significantly decrease, lowering the costs of creation and also the damage to the environment. This can also be emphasized by using Systems Theory to utilize the existing materials of your current product to make the new one, minimizing waste and encouraging true renewability. This can also make for more creative and innovative solutions to be created as well. As current products are designed to be obsolete within years companies make new models of an existing product to drip feed the new technologies they already had initially had to maximize profit. This can be prevented using this economical model and instead all of the most innovative and futuristic of adaptions can be made to the one product to ensure longevity and quality as these will be the factors catalystic to effective revenue models. This spurs more ingenuity and innovation to be employed in research, design and creation increasing job, product and environmental quality. http://dollarsandsense.org/archives/2012/New-Economy-flat-for-web.jpg Of course not owning something is kind of hard to fathom when it comes to your TV or cooker, but if it encourages corporate responsibility to the environment and also generates higher quality, long life products then it is beneficial to all of us. Corporate responsibility is created by making companies dependent on quality and longevity for profitability and issuing any repair costs upon them, ensuring that they make renewable and high quality products. This does pose the risk that companies and not people own the products that they use and those who can't pay will be relinquished of their rented assets, but as this model will be extremely more cost effective this is unlikely. For example a man in Germany complying with a test of this model can use a £1000 fridge for £10 pm and be assured that it will last for 8-10 years with free maintenance, instead of buying outright a current £100 fridge that will maybe last 4-5 years. People already increasingly don't own the cars they drive, homes they live in or the phone they use, so it won't be all too radical for consumers. But in a world increasingly focused on digitization with the creation of the IoT, virtual reality and artificial intelligence humans role on the earth is going to have to become more existential if we are to find purpose in life. As ever more jobs dissapear to automation and once physical things like banks become intangible and digital we have top focus ourselves in finding meaning within ourselves and not what we own. Materialism will still inevitably exist but with a more sustainable approach, and the recognition of the products we use as a creation from the very planet we inhabit. So with this is mind will products become respected as a renewable entity not to be wasted, and will our time dedicated to pursuing the intangible and not the material? It will be interesting to see if companies en mass adopt this principle to ensure the longevity of our planet as well as the things we buy, and to what lengths we as humans will go to find purpose in this new and immaterial world we are gradually creating.

titleThe End of Ownership in the Modern Century
bodyWe love to own things as humans, to place our claim upon something.
