      "body": "Don't Look Back in Anger is the hit song from the biggest Britpop band of all time – Oasis. Because the song was unknown to everybody except Noel, he only got a polite applause from the crowd after playing the song.  Gallagher recalls the moment when he was writing the song: \n>\"I remember writing it in Paris on a rainy night. We had just played a strip club: our set finished, the strippers came on. We were nothing, an insignificant little band. And I remember going back to my hotel room and writing it, and thinking, 'That'll be pretty good when we record it.' If I'd have known that night what I know now about people playing it at fucking funerals and weddings, I'd never have finished the song. Too much pressure.\"\n\nThe name Sally, which appears in the chorus of the song, is a made up character by Noel. Noel said that the name was purely random, and that he doesn't know anybody named Sally. Some lines from the song are also inspired by John Lennon, whom Noel admires greatly. The line »So I start a revolution from my bed« came from a memoir cassette of Lennon in which he said he was 'trying to start a revolution from me bed, because they said the brains I had went to my head.', which was a reference to Lennon's famous bed-in protest in 1969.       "body": "<html>\n<p>Paranoid Android is a song by the alternative/art rock band <em>Radiohead</em>. The song was released as a leading single, which was followed by<em> Karma Police, Lucky, No Surprises</em> and <em>Airbag </em>for their third studio album<em> OK Computer (1997). &nbsp;</em></p>\n<p><img src=\"https://direct.rhapsody.com/imageserver/images/Alb.227610749/500x500.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\"/></p>\n<h1>Writting/Recording Process</h1>\n<p><img src=\"https://i.pinimg.com/originals/f5/c1/ac/f5c1aceb5779b3beb42ba5e106f732fe.jpg\" width=\"888\" height=\"600\"/></p>\n<p>The song is made up of several different unfinished songs put together. This writting style was inspired by <em>the Beatles </em>album <em>Abbey Road</em> (and by the song<em> Happiness Is A Warm Gun</em> also by the Beatles), which had the same composition style used on it, as the band was close to break up at that point. Singer and main songwritter Thom Yorke stated:<em> \"Basically an excuse to weld loads of half-finished songs together, Abbey Road-style. It's Radiohead, pissed and having a party. I wasn't there when it was all stuck together – I'd been sent to sleep it off. What's it all about? The fall of the Roman Empire.\"</em> Bassist Colin Greenwood also recalled:<em> \"(it) felt like irresponsible schoolboys who were doing this ... naughty thing, 'cause nobody does a six-and-a-half-minute song with all these changes. It's ridiculous\".</em> The inspiration for a lengthy song came from the song <em>Bohemian Rhapsody</em> by <em>Queen </em>and its sound was similar to <em>the Pixies</em>, whom used the quiet verse loud chorus formula extensively. &nbsp;</p>\n<p>The song was recorded in a 15th-century mansion in the village of St Catherine, which belonged to actress Jane Seymour. As if the song wasn't already not radio friendly, the first edit of the song spanned 14 minutes, and it featured an interlude with guitarist Jonny Greenwood playing the organ. This version of the song was actually performed in 1996: <em>\"When we started playing it live, it was completely hilarious,\"</em> said guitarist Ed O'Brien. <em>\"There was a rave down section and a Hammond organ outro, and we'd be pissing ourselves while we played. We'd bring out the glockenspiel and it would be really, really funny.\"</em> It was later changed to six and a half minutes, as the organ section was replaced by a fade out with a guitar. This version took the band more than a year to learn how to play in a live setting. &nbsp;</p>\n<h1>The Lyrics</h1>\n<p><img src=\"https://data.whicdn.com/images/70440964/original.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"549\"/></p>\n<p>The album and song title came from the classic 1979 sci-fi novel <em>A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy</em>, which the band read during their tour for the album <em>The Bends</em>. The song itself was named after the character from the book Marvin the Paranoid Android. &nbsp;</p>\n<p>The songs inspiration came from a night in Los Angeles where Thom Yorke visited a bar where he felt as he was sorrounded by <em>» demons from another planet«</em>. He elaborated: <em>\"Everyone was trying to get something out of me. I felt like my own self was collapsing in the presence of it, but I also felt completely, utterly part of it, like it was all going to come crashing down any minute.\" </em>That night was also the inspiration for the whole OK Computer album, as it was filled with claustrophobia, paranoia and anxiety. &nbsp;</p>\n<p>The lyrics where written fast compared to the complicated instrumental part of the song:<em> \"It's about being exposed to God, I dunno. Thom wanted the video to be something you can laugh at yet it would still be sick and twisted. The band recruited animator <em>Magnus Carlsson</em> to make the video. The video featured two friends going around the world where they meet prostitutes, drug addicts, businessmen, mermaids and more. The duo met Rodgers at the reveal of their first album <em>Homework</em> in 1997. Rodgers was a great influence to the duo, yet was unable to collaborate due to the busy schedule of both parties. They all pulled together and met at the <em>Electric Lady Studios</em> in New York to finally record songs together.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The base of the song was written by Daft Punk, and was later filled instrumentally by Rodgers on guitar, Nathan East on bass, Chris Caswell on keyboards and Paul Jackson on the second guitar. Niles stated: <em>\"In my way of composing, of feeling if something is grooving, it's got to hit me in my soul. It doesn't have to be overly intellectual or some complicated thing, it just has to be cool. I can't explain it but I know it when I arrive there.\" </em>Engineer Mick Guzauski also recalled:<em> \"I experimented with balancing and other positioning, and working other stuff around it. He didn’t have to be processed – Nile just sounded great the way he is.\"</em></p>\n<p>The song was completed, yet it needed vocals. Fortunately, singer/rapper Pharrell Williams heard the prototype of the song from the duo at a party hosted by Madonna. Upon hearing the track he offered the duo his vocals for the song. They all met in Paris, where Pharrell showed the duo some of his own vocal material, which was later reworked into the vocals of the song. Amazingly, Pharrell said he was listening to alot of Nile Rodgers records, yet he didn't know that the duo had already made guitar tracks with him for the song. The recording of the vocals took a while, as the duo was very perfectionistic, making Pharrell do several tracks of only short phrases. The project fit together perfectly as Pharrell had already worked with the duo with his band<em> N.E.R.D</em>. and was also a big Nile Rodgers fan. &nbsp;</p>\n<h1>The Lyrics</h1>\n<p><img src=\"https://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/wennpic/rodgers-williams-2013-mtv-video-music-awards-03.jpg\" width=\"1000\" height=\"751\"/></p>\n<p>The lyrics of the song were regarded as sexual by the critics, until Pharrell explained that the lyrics were refering to meeting a person you immediately connect with. He further explained in an interview with Rolling Stone: <em>\"I was trying to slice a really good moment and keep it on repeat. 'Up all night to get lucky' means you don't want the night to end. You want that golden moment on repeat, like the music repeats.\" &nbsp;</em></p>\n<h1>Release/Reception</h1>\n<p><img src=\"https://pmcvariety.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/daftpunk.jpg?w=1000&amp;h=563&amp;crop=1\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\"/></p>\n<p>The song was first teased on the show<em> Saturday Night Live.</em> Shortly afterwards, Rodgers and Pharell announced their involvement in the single. Few days before the official release, the song leaked to several radio stations such as <em>BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6</em>. Since the official release of the song on Spotify, it was streamed more than 64 million times.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Upon the release the song received very positive reviews. The song was the leading single for the album with the same name, which was released on 14 December 1979. &nbsp;</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://img.discogs.com/6r1_R7aKzV61Z2tPlF1i2SOwIo8=/fit-in/600x594/filters:strip_icc():format(jpeg):mode_rgb():quality(90)/discogs-images/R-373177-1216663209.jpeg.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"594\"/></p>\n<h1>Writting/Recording Process</h1>\n<p><img src=\"https://i.imgur.com/iTgfpZt.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"406\"/></p>\n<p>The single was written by the songwritting duo of the band - <em>Joe Strummer and Mick Jones</em>, whom wrote the majority of the bands discography. The guitars were played by Strummer and Jones, while the bass and drums were played by <em>Paul Simonon</em> and<em> Topper Headon</em> respectively. The title of the song refrences the BBC World Service's station identification quote: <em>\"This is London calling ...\"</em> , which was used by the British throughout World War II in broadcasts to the occupied countries.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The song was recorded between August and September in 1979 at <em>Wessex Studios, </em>which was located in a former church in North London. The studio had already recorded with <em>the Pretenders, the Sex Pistols </em>and with <em>the Tom Robinson band</em>. The song was engineered by <em>Bill Price </em>and produced by <em>Guy Stevens</em>, whom was a producer of the album alongside guitarist Mick Jones. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<h1>The Lyrics</h1>\n<p><img src=\"https://i.imgur.com/2526m6v.png\" width=\"656\" height=\"350\"/></p>\n<p>Most of the songs lyrics were written by Joe Strummer, whom had thoughts of the world events he wanted to express in a song, with an apocalyptic feel. He refrences the <em>Three Mile Island</em> accident, which was a meltown of a nuclear reactor in Pennsylvania, in the line <em>\"a nuclear error\"</em>. Strummer stated:<em> \"We felt that we were struggling about to slip down a slope or something, grasping with our fingernails. And there was no one there to help us.\"&nbsp;</em></p>\n<p>The lyrics also talk about the high dept the band was in 1979, and the constant arguing with the record label over the album that they were producing at the time. The line <em>\"Now don't look to us / Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust\"</em> references the end of the punk rock era in England, and what that meant for the bands future. Strummer also talks about police brutality in the line <em>\"We ain't got no swing / Except for the ring of that truncheon thing\"</em> and casual drug taking in the line <em>\"We ain't got no high / Except for that one with the yellowy eyes\".&nbsp;</em></p>\n<p>He also raises concern, that if the River Thames flooded, it would drown most of central London, in the line <em>\"London is drowning / And I live by the river”</em>. Strummers message was heard, as the construction for the Thames Barrier started in 1974, which was created to block out the high tide of the river.</p>\n<p>The fade out of the song features a Morse code which spells out SOS, that once again gives the song a sense of urgency, danger and emergency. &nbsp;</p>\n<h1>Release/Artwork</h1>\n<p><img src=\"https://i.pinimg.com/originals/21/76/7f/21767f559759725bbbbcc941b122de39.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"493\"/></p>\n<p>Upon release the song reached number 11 on the UK charts, and number 40 in Australia. A promotional video was later shot by <em>Don Letts </em>which features the band playing on a boat on the River Thames on a rainy night. &nbsp;</p>\n<p>Later, the song became recognized as one of the bands best songs. It was later included in the 2004 <em>Rolling Stone </em>list of the<em> 500 Greatest Songs of All Time</em>, reaching number 15. It was also included in other lists such as <em>VH1’s 100 Greatest Songs of the 80’s</em> and<em> The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll. &nbsp;</em></p>\n<p>Just like the artwork from the album that the single comes from, it is inspired by the old school Columbia vinyl records sleeves. Designer <em>Ray Lowry</em> made the artwork the same as the old sleeve by Columbia, but he replaced the blank vinyl sleeves on the floor to punk and rock and roll albums.
