      "body": "Are bipolar people and what society calls 'normal people', are they really that different? When I look at the definition of 'normal' is it 'conforming to a standard, usual, typical or expected'. What is the standard and who set the standard?   If  you look at the behaviour of Bipolar people, your first thought is - eeeh this person must be crazy. So naturally the human species just like any other species on this earth, the normal person tends to reject the Bipolar person , because we don't fit into your version of normal.  There are so many people suffering with bipolar, so don't we kind of make our own norm, where our behaviour is the usual, typical and expected.    \n\nYou know the saying \"don't judge me,  you have not walked a mile in my shoes\".   A saying you will hear from a 'normal person',   now if a bipolar person says the exact same sentence, we get a harsh response. Let me give you some examples:  \"you are over reacting\", \" its not that bad, get on with it\", \"You are lazy, you making excuses\", and the list can go on... \n\nNow Im not saying that bipolar people have bigger problems compared to normal people. NO ,  to each individual, all shapes and sizes, Bipolar or not,  each person deserves to be treated with dignity.  Unfortunately society creates a stigma around Bipolar, leaving bipolar sufferers ashamed and terrified  to admit they need help, or if they have been diagnosed they would rather live in denial of the fact that they have a mental illness, all because of the \"crazy\" factor.\n\nDon't you think thats sad, leaving them to literally 'suffer in silence'.   \n\nWhen a normal person is unhappy about a situation they voice their opinion no matter what, no regard for consequences\nNow let it be the exact same situation, when the bipolar person displays their opinion - the are analyzed under a microscope and punished for their reactions. Besides the average day where we have triggers,  then there are also moments where you feel this fire in the pit of your stomach, a feeling of rage/ anger,  and you have no idea why, what, you think to yourself but wait , nothing triggered me right now, but all of a sudden you experience this larger than life emotion with in yourself.  \n\nJust as in life how we all go through obstacles, when you are going through a tough time , wouldn't you want to be treated with understanding and compassion? Or maybe you don't know it exists, Or question is it a real illness, now thats the common question. \n\nToday we have amazing technology, years of research, stats, data, you name it, Life is forever changing and medically changing for the better.  We can't deny that we learn something new each day, if you don't think so then you are not paying attention.\nWhy not dabble a lil' in a different pond, allow yourself to be educated, don't be afraid to learn, maybe you learn you too have bp, and it is OK, dosen't mean you are crazy.    \n\nThe most important thing is to get help, don't suffer in silence. I know its a dark lonely road, and you didn't even know it was happening to you.       "body": "The start...\n\nWe all go though life experiencing the ups and downs, the obstacles the joys. In life we tend to think we are inferior, telling ourselves \"Oh that won't happen to me\" and maybe it never does, then thats great. But what if you are that one individual who gets marked with an X.  \n\nSo in my  case I went through life thinking 'ah, same old same old' , day in and day out I lived at home with a mom, a dad , a sister....  seems rather normal right. \nEventually you grow up , you venture out into the world, you meet people, then meet other families..... we all know   no human, no family is perfect and that is OK. Growing  up I believed my life was normal, I had no idea that the internal struggles I was experiencing were actually real problems that need to be addressed.  Eventually after years of kaos  and the disappointments I felt within my self, I was diagnosed Depressive Bipolar.     \nNaturally at first I was in denial, because who wants to have Bipolar disorder, what will people think, what will they say.  I thought it meant I was crazy, and people would treat me differently. \n\nWell people do treat you differently if i'm being honest.  Most Bipolar sufferers get yelled at, insulted \"you are lazy\", and the list of negativity around this illness grows and continues to cause major emotional scaring.  \nThere are three problems around this topic, one being the fact that most individuals who are currently suffering wont get help because of the stigma and the others dont even know they are living with it.  Second being once diagnosed, this person needs a support system -it can be one person or ten, but it is crucial that they receive love, understanding, support, guidance and more.  Thirdly the stigma, the judgments, the loneliness, the absolute neglect. \n\n Whether you are a mom, wife, daughter, husband, son, teacher, or a fire fighter , ect. no one is invincible. \nWhat happens if you don't go to the GP for antibiotics ?  You probably would get worse right, well the same goes for Depression, left untreated the illness grows. Just like cancer it can and will kill you.   \n\nI know when we cant see a physical injury or illness, we are oblivious to its existence. Society today perceive the word depression as \"plain sadness\". There is so much more to it, its complexity keep researchers and medical specialists busy, like cancer - we can treat the symptoms, but there is no cure.\n\n Every single human in this world is dealing with something. No persons problems or challenges are bigger than the next person.   \nThe challenge comes in where you try to convey this message across nations, to create a world where we love more than we hate, no one has limited love, so why do people choose to display anger and hate towards others? \n\n  If you have depression or if you know someone with depression then it is extremely important for you to create healthy relationships, healthy environments and to live a healthy life.  \"Sounds easy right, well no its not at all easy\" .   'Support support support'.....No one can do it on their own, and we shouldn't have to .
