To say one this is good and another is bad isn't just up to one person. I mean sure their is the obvious one of not doing harm to any living creature, don't steal etc, but who decides what is morally and ethically right and wrong.\n\n---\n\nAn interesting perspective is to consider the whole thought that religion as the founder for righteousness and that which religion a country is dominated by confirms their moral and ethical foregrounds.\n\nThis may have so truth to it, but who within the religion or religious group decides what to teach? See it doesn't seem so simple now does it.\n\n---\n\nWe could drain on for weeks about questions like this one, truth is ethical dilemas are just that. This and many more questions can arise from deeper thought. What I think to be good is acting in a way that considers other people beyond yourself.\n\n---\n\nCompassion, what is it? Well the way I see it, is that a component of compassion is the consideration for others. Something as simple as being aware of the personal space and comfort of a fellow passenger on public transport is something that demonstrates compassion. Of course there is more that can be seen as compassionate, bigger more life altering acts, but for sure these things take more than a lot of people can afford to give. So in one sense just the awareness and thought and small action makes up a good act. \n\n---\n\nRamblings and some food for thought.",

Is it to make the world a better place? Is it because we want to feel better about ourselves? Is it a nice tax offset? Do we do it out of some obligation? Or do we inherently care about other people even if we have/never will meet them?\n\nThese are just some of the questions that I have considered when thinking about the best way to promote charity in one fashion or another. They are also the questions I have asked myself about why it is something I consider worthwhile.\n\n*The answer???*\n\nIt doesn't matter. Interestingly enough it would be nice for everyone to give out of compassion for our fellow humans, but in literal reality beggars can't be choosers. Judging someones motivation is as difficult as judging their moral values. If they feel the are acting in a righteous way (and truly believe it) how can I or anyone else question them.\n\nOften the mark of an action is asking one self: Is this something a good person would do? My definition of a good person is probably far different to that of someone living in a different culture. Sure there would be overlapping similarities, but the precedent put in place by different laws or cultural/religious teachings makes peoples thought processes completely different. \n\nOne analogy that I came up with is the medieval witch test.\n\nTownsfolk would throw a woman into water to test if she were a witch. If she floats then she is a witch as is to be burnt at the stake. If she drowned then not a witch.\n\nThis is of course an absurd test, as the woman dies either way (not to mention witches aren't actually real). Looking at this from an outsiders perspective it is easy to see how ridiculous it is. But.. if we were to have lived in medieval times it would have been seen as a common practice and it is likely that we would have struggled to see a fault in it. \"We would have thought we were acting in a righteous way\" in order to protect the town from witches. It’s the stories, images, symbols and feelings that I connect with once I am on my country. It’s the passing down of data and understanding. It permits a sense of familiarity to settle into my essence, my energy connects to a supply that helps ME to the touch base and re-energise.\n\nMy country, my stories, my learning all comes from that place of birth, that place of true deep association that happened at birth. i feel it's very important for any human to attach to an area, it’s a happiness, a association to one thing that’s larger than ME.\n\nIt’s like that “going home feeling” wherever everything is ideal, that true feeling of happiness, like in meditation wherever you become one with UN agency you're at a deeper level and everything is silent, excellent and calm. It’s like Associate in Nursing ocean that's rough and also the waves become huge, however beneath the waves it’s absolutely calm. That problem below is that “place” wherever everything is ok. even if on the surface everything looks to be rough and terrible.\n\nThink of it as that “feeling” you get after you get back when work, when a giant day at the workplace. That place wherever you're feeling most comfy and you're able to “be you” while not the worry of somebody decision making or asking you to try and do one thing, that place wherever you're able to simply “be”.\n\nPlace and geographics is that this happiness. this sense. while not that feeling we have a tendency to ar lost within the system, we have a tendency to aren't connected, we have a tendency to ar flat. we want that association to recharge our system or revive thus we have a tendency to ar acting at our greatest. Our practicality is functioning at it’s best level.\n\nPlace and association is simply that, the rebooting, the system termination. we have a tendency to all want this each once during a whereas, perhaps everyday.
