Today there are billions of dollars being thrown at cryptocurrencies that offer a little more than a whitepaper and a smile. Not all are like this, of course, but the ICO was never meant to act as a business model.”\n\nThose words are not Vitalik Buterin’s, or Tim Draper’s, or Jon Matonis’. They have all done very well from the ICO model, but they weren’t the first to found a business on it.\n\nAntoine Sorel Néron is not a big name in the cryptocurrency community. But back in 2014, he was the man behind Karmashares – the world’s first ICO. And the ICO model is what brought millions into the world of blockchain and crypto. It’s no exaggeration to say that the rise (and current slump) of the ICO model has been the single biggest driver of user and investor adoption over the last year.\n\nKarmashares itself didn’t get very far – it ran afoul of SEC regulations, in an eerie precursor to the market that ICO founders might enter today.\n\nBack in those days (you know an industry is in its infancy when four years ago is ‘those days’) an ICO was known as an Initial Public Offering for Coins (IPOCO). And for Néron, Karmashares wasn’t an attempt to create an entirely new method of funding – but simply to get his idea off the ground.\n\nWhat Was Karmashares?\nKarmashares’ business plan included an ICO and the ability for sub-entities known as IPOCOs to operate on its platform. The ICO was billed as a straightforward token sale meant to crowdfund the development of the platform. Investors in the platform received a digital certificate representing the number of Karmashares purchased.\n\nIf things had worked out as planned, Karmashares could have been integrated into tipbots, fundraising efforts, content paywalls, and ecommerce sites. Goals included integration into Moolah and Digipay and the release of a video job interview website and video-based question and answer website. Karmashares could have been one of the first to release a debit card loaded with the user’s wallet address.\n\nHowever, when Karmashares was unraveled by the SEC, it became listed as “administratively dissolved” by the State of Wyoming in 2015. (Ironically, Wyoming is now probably the most friendly state in the USA for blockchain-related companies.)\n\nWas Kamashares a good idea that was simply ahead of its time? Or was its failure a blessing in disguise in an environment where the technology needed more time to mature?\n\nGoodomy as an Attempt to Counter the Usual ICO Model\nNow Antoine Sorel Néron thinks he has a better approach that puts more of the benefits of ICOs back into the hands of investors, and he intends to be compliant with SEC regulations.\n\nHe has announced that his new project, Goodomy, and its associated OTOL platform will be launched on May 24. OTOL will make it possible for businesses to crowdsource complex tasks and increase their liquidity. Individuals can also use the associated Shopomy app to make purchases with the cryptocurrencies they earn, save money, and share their purchases with friends with the ability to quickly shoot and upload images and short videos.\n\n“We wanted to make a system for anyone to use capitalism to make their life better,” said Carolina Rueda, Goodomy’s chief economist. “This is our ‘good economy’. It could be using our OTOL platform to provide cryptocurrency incentives for someone to paint your house, or our Shopomy app to get 50% off your grocery bill.”\n\nIf this sounds suspiciously like a utility token, you could be right – and many ICOs believe they have dodged the regulators by calling something a utility token that can be used to buy services, instead of a security token that represents shares in a company.\n\nWhat makes Goodomy different is that token holders would not be theoretically be limited to redeeming their tokens for cloud storage or car rentals.\n\nIf anything, Goodomy could change the perception of a utility token that is primarily used for one common activity by creating an online shopping mall and “yard sale” where you can rent out the extra parking space in your driveway if you live close to a popular venue.\n\nYou could also make a side gig out of checking out OTOL and helping businesses with those tasks that they never have the time and in-house staff to do themselves (reminiscent of TaskRabbit). Then you can use the earnings to buy that bedroom set.\n\nAnd makes Goodomy different from natural competitors such as OpenBazaar is that it has a native token. It’s just that the native token doesn’t have to fight for adoption by third party businesses in order to be usable.\n\nA White Paper With A Conscience?\nThe unusual thing about Goodomy’s white paper is that it seems to be more of a treatise on the power of decentralization, the importance of economic empowerment, and the potential of blockchain technology, than it is about technological innovation. There’s a sense in this paper that Néron wants to take us back to the original point – back to a vision enshrined by Satoshi Nakamoto, with the benefit of a few years of hindsight.\n\nFor being the guy who basically invented ICOs, one might think that Antoine Sorel Néron would have come up with something more innovative.\n\nBut perhaps the clever twist here, is that Néron is rolling back the hype, rolling back the get-rich-quick mentality that has poisoned the ICO pool to the extent that the model itself is now under threat.\n\nPerhaps, in fact, if there is anything revolutionary in his new Goodomy model, it’s that it’s not new at all.       "body": "First off hello my name is Casey and I am \"invested\" into the Goodomy project. My goal in this post is to spread awareness  and understanding of this project ... because i am a GOOD token holder . I believe there is potential for this token because of the small market cap and small number of circulating and max supply of tokens. The market cap sits around $1.5 million as I write this terrible write up on goodomy lol. It has a circulating supply of 453million tokens and max supply of 880 million tokens. GOOD is only listed on one exchange at the moment COINEXCHANGE.IO and has eyes on much much biggers exchanges. . Binance bittrex kukoin huboi etc. But right now goodomy is not focused on the crypto community. GOODOMY is focused on the consumer market. the retail market. One of the many reason why GOODomy is not listed on major exchanges... yet...   The founder of of the Goodomy/Shopomy project is named Antoine Sorel Néron.  He is an early pioneer in blockchain-based technology. Through his Karmashares project (for Karma coin cryptocurrency) he announced plans fort he creation of the first true ICO with IPOCOs (Initial  public Offering for Coins) on April 9, 2014 and it was launched ten days later. Other coins, such as MaidSafe and Ethereum, followed soon after. Any ways this project did not have an ico (initial coin offering) but you can buy this coin on one exchange which is.. coinexchange.io... On May 24th of this year 2018 the Goodomy project is releasing its APP that is a retail mining app for consumers and small businesses.  I believe after the release of the app this coin will be Trading at least $00.25 cents or more. the current price is $00.00535405 . He is an early pioneer in blockchain-based technology. Through his Karmashares project (for Karma coin cryptocurrency) he announced plans fort he creation of the first true ICO with IPOCOs (Initial  public Offering for Coins) on April 9, 2014 and it was launched ten days later. Other coins, such as MaidSafe and Ethereum, followed soon after. To put that in perspective, Ethereum—one of the most popular blockchain platforms in the world—runs about 1 million transactions per day. And it has a $100 billion market cap. Here’s why that matters… Uplive is in the process of switching all its users from the internal diamond currency to the GIFTO token. That means GTO usage is on track to hit 25 million transactions per month. But we don’t have to pay for a $100 billion market cap. Right now, we can get into GIFTO at a market cap barely over $50 million. Currently, GIFTO is testing a closed version of the system with its Uplive users. And they’re just weeks away from introducing the “open” version on Uplive. Eventually, AIG expects to roll the coin out to all 100 million users. GIFTO is also testing the token on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. That will give GIFTO access to the 4.3 billion users of those platforms, too. There are 1 billion GIFTO tokens but only 150 million are in the tradable float. The average balance held by an Uplive user is $14 worth of diamonds. 20 million users multiplied by $14 equals $280 million (the value currently held by Uplive users.)  The entire market cap of GIFTO is just $53 million. Just on a switch from Uplive’s diamond currency to GTO tokens could boost the price of GTO to $2. That will take the market cap to about $300 million. That just about matches the current value of all diamonds we estimate to be in circulation.\n\nThat’s a 5x gain.\n\nLater this year, as GIFTO gains adoption among AIG’s other 80 million users, we think $4 per token is a chip shot. That’s almost 12x higher from today’s price of 34 cents. If they really hit it out of the park, and GIFTO becomes the global standard of digital gifting on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram, the token is easily worth well north of $10 in the years ahead. Bringing It All Together\nIt’s estimated that about 10 million people own or trade some form of crypto assets.
