So much so, it is very hard to send out money from Zimbabwe. In order to stem the flow of US dollars out of the government has swiftly promulgated the bond note bill -  a supposedly secured arrangement with Afrexim bank  where by $200 million worth of bond notes only legal in Zimbabwe and pegged 1 to 1 against the US dollar. This was a turnaround pint for the country. A coalition government was in place and a lot of direct foreign investment and diaspora remittances started flowing into the country. GDP improved and new businesses starting sprouting up again after a decade of decay. \n\nThe general election saw octogenarian former guerrilla leader Robert Mugabe's party Zanu PF  win back parliament and the presidency. And since then corruption, hastily designed Indigenisation policies and continued land invasions and a bulging civil service have chased newly arrived capital out of the country. So much so that liquidity started to suffer, factory closures and unemployment soared. Imports overtook exports and the inevitable cash shortages. \n\nSo today Zimbabwe is in financial distress again, with chronic liquidity and cash shortages. So much so, it is very hard to send out money from Zimbabwe. In order to stem the flow of US dollars out of the government has swiftly promulgated the bond note bill -  a supposedly secured arrangement with Afrexim bank  where by $200 million worth of bond notes only legal in Zimbabwe and pegged 1 to 1 against the US dollar.
