titleTHE HISTORY OF TSUNAMI ATJEH 26 DECEMBER 2004
body![image](https://img.esteem.ws/gqy381v764.jpg) The earthquake and tsunami waves on December 26, 2004, are not the first time in Aceh. The more devastating disaster in the form of megatsunami is estimated to have hit the province of Sumatra's tip at 1,400 years ago. This is what makes the disaster familiar in the history records of this former conflict country. Communities in Aceh Province recognize natural disasters in the form of large waves that hit people's settlements in various titles, such as the Tsunami introduced by Japanese society, Smong by Semeulue community and Ie Beuna by other Acehnese coastal communities. "In Aceh is familiar with the terms ie beuna and smong among the people of Simeulue District. The disaster is expected to be far more devastating than the December 26, 2004, "said Saiful Mahdi, Director of the Center for International Studies on Aceh and Indian Oceans (ICAIOS), Tuesday (26/4). Saiful said that the tsunami also hit Simeulue in 1907. The people there then remembered the event as smong and the story was passed down from generation to generation. ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/v94fjgcrje.jpg) ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/woyr59l6be.jpg) "On 26 December 2004, very few Simeulue residents became victims. That is, the parents there have warned the younger generation of Simeulue about the tsunami and how to anticipate it, "he said again. In addition, the existence of megatsunami in Aceh can also be proved by the findings of the Ancient Catastrophic Disaster Study Team and the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) in the form of ancient buildings in the Aceh sea. This means that the land in Aceh today is actually very broad, but little by little in the scrape by the sea due to natural disasters in various forms. Long ago, a number of conditions into the ocean today is actually the village population. However, due to the disaster, the area was later abandoned. One of the cases that proves this theory is true, is in Lamnga Village, Mesjid Raya Sub-district, Aceh Besar. According to the recognition of parents and residents there, the location of Lamnga Village, formerly located along the edge of the sea and the land that became the area of ponds and rivers today. However, due to a disaster, the community then evacuated to a higher location. "Formerly, the location of the village today is a plateau often used by the mujahid of Aceh to attack the Netherlands. Hence, many of Kono's graves are in this village. But because of the disaster, finally people choose to settle here, "said M. Ali Ibrahim, Sekdes Lamnga. While the previous village location, he added, is now flooded with water. New residents are aware of this after conducting multiplication around the area for the purpose of pond construction. In the area of the land, found many ancient relics, such as plates, buildings and objects that have other historical content. "According to parents, there was a displacement because of the beuna. But, I do not remember the incident, "he said. The existence of these historical sources, proves that natural disasters are indeed familiar with the inhabitants of Seramoe Mecca. However, this disaster often forgets in historical record that it must swallow a lot of casualties every time the disaster re-greet this area. In fact, if the disaster is used as a valuable lesson and information from generation to generation to generation. This area will be better prepared for the disaster. For the national level, the study of the Catastrophic Catastrophic Study Team LIPI and other research institutions, both foreign and national institutions also found the latest facts about megatsunami ever crashing Indonesia. Historical and national reference, the tsunami in Indonesia became famous since 1833. where, when the big sea waves hit Sumatra, Indonesia. An earthquake measuring 8.8-9.2 SR resulted in a large tsunami sweeping the west coast of Sumatra. Then, in 1883, the tsunami waves also hit the krakatau, in the Sunda Strait, Indonesia. The vomit of Krakatoa's magma caused the sea floor to collapse and caused a tsunami up to 40 meters above sea level. Tsunami hit the Indian and Pacific Oceans to the west coast of America and South America. ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/7hcbmyvil1.jpg) ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/2phhpnasby.jpg) A tsunami attack as high as 10 to 15 meters, triggered by an earthquake on the seabed, was also estimated to occur in 1994 in East Java, with 238 dead, the Irian Jaya tsunami in 1996 causing 161 deaths, or the worst tsunami in the country neighboring Papua New Guinea, in 1998 that killed 2,200 people. Furthermore, on December 26, 2044, it was the turn of the area hit by a 9.1 magnitude earthquake that caused a massive tsunami that killed 166 thousand in Aceh and 320 thousand people from eight countries that passed the waves to Thailand, the east coast of India, Sri Lanka, east Africa in Somalia, Kenya and Tanzania. In 2005, an 8.7 magnitude quake also occurred off the coast of Nias, killing 1,300 people. While in 2006, the shaking of a magnitude 7.7 earthquake shook the base of the Indian Ocean, exactly 200 KM south of Pangandaran. This quake has triggered high waves up to 6 meters at Cimerak Beach and about 800 people are reported missing. Tsunami hit the Indian and Pacific Oceans to the west coast of America and South America.\n ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/7hcbmyvil1.jpg)\n ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/2phhpnasby.jpg)\n A tsunami attack as high as 10 to 15 meters, triggered by an earthquake on the seabed, was also estimated to occur in 1994 in East Java, with 238 dead, the Irian Jaya tsunami in 1996 causing 161 deaths, or the worst tsunami in the country neighboring Papua New Guinea, in 1998 that killed 2,200 people. \n\nDecember 26, 2004\n [1] Time: 58: 53 UTC 07:28:53 UTC + 6½ 07:58:53 UTC + 7 08:58:53 UTC + 8Kekuatan9,1-9,3 Mw\n [2] Depth30 km (19 mi) [1] Epicenter 3 ° 18'58 \"LU95 ° 51'14\" BT / 3.316 ° LU 95,854 ° east\n [ 1] Type Mega thrust World territory Indonesia Sri Lanka India Thailand Maldives Malaysia Myanmar Madagascar Somalia Kenya Tanzania South Africa Losses of $ 19.6 billion (USD2017)\n [3] Max intensity.IX (Violent)\n [1] Tsunami15 to 30 meters (50 to 100 ft)\n [4] with a maximum height of 51 m (167.3 ft) in Lhoknga.\n [5] The victims of 30,000 to 280,000 died and others disappeared<code>code</code>",

titleHISTORY OF KERKOFF PEUCUT TRAGEDY IN ATJEH
body![image](https://img.esteem.ws/g5rw3ko3py.jpg) Kerkoff Peucut is the grave of Dutch soldiers killed in the Aceh War. This grave complex is widely spread in the territory of Indonesia. One of them is located in the city of Banda Aceh, and now a tourist attraction, especially for foreign tourists (especially tourists from the Netherlands). As it is known that the Kingdom of Aceh and its people are very persistent against the Dutch who fought Aceh. The Acehnese defend their country with wealth and life. Resistance long enough to cause many victims in both sides. Kerkoff Peucut is located behind the Tsunami Museum, Banda Aceh. Entering the complex area, visitors are accosted with a writing written in Dutch, Javanese and Malay Arabic. It reads "For our fallen companions on the battlefield". Thousands of Dutch soldiers of various ranks were buried there. The name Kerkoff literally means a church or graveyard. While Peutjut is a nickname of the crown prince Sultan Iskandar Muda who died after being punished by his father stoned for violating the laws of the kingdom at that time. His name is Meurah Pupok. He was buried there about 300 years before the Dutch made graves for their soldiers. In the Kerkoff complex, not only the Dutch soldiers were buried there. But there are also a number of indigenous people believed to be recruited as Marsose troops and KNIL troops to be sent against Aceh. They are from Ambon, Manado and Java. It is clearly visible from a number of names listed on the walls of the Kerkoff complex. When visitors arrive at the cemetery, will be greeted by the gate as high as 4 meter Dutch style. At the magnificent gate, painted yellow and dark brown is fully written the names buried in Kerkhof Peucut sorted by the year of death and sorted alphabetically. At the gate, there is also a kind of inscription written in Dutch, Arabic and Javanese that read "Former Comrades and Friends who Fall in Battlefield". The Peucut Kerkhof cemetery according to various sources becomes the widest tomb for the Dutch outside their own country. Entering into the tomb, will appear a row of the majority of white cemetery arranged neatly. Before we enter the courtyard of the Peucut Kerkhof grave, there is a phrase that says "2200 Warriors are buried here. The Royal Netherlands East Indies Army (KNIL) paid a high price for its presence in Aceh. " Meanwhile Peucut Kerkhof's treatment is financed by Stichting Peucut Fonds or Dana Peucut Foundation. The foundation is basically aiming to save the Dutch military cemetery in order to be witnessed by future generations. The foundation's founding board in particular raised funds for the repair and maintenance of all these activities in accordance with the MOU between the Government of Aceh and the Netherlands. ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/k2aucdfwnr.jpg) Dana Peucut Foundation itself was established since January 29, 1976, the chairman of the first foundation named Lt. Gen. F. van der Veen an officer in Korp Marchaussee who had served in Aceh, because the corps was established in Aceh. "Actually there are four Dutch generals who died in Aceh, Köhler, Van Swieten, Pel and one I forgot. Like Köhler for example, he died April 14, 1873, died in front of the Great Mosque, then by his troops rushed to sea and taken. So the first Dutch expedition failed. Return to Jakarta and be buried in Tanah Abang, in Jakarta. Returned to Aceh is actually no initial plan. Only at the initiative of the Governor of Aceh at that time Muzakir Walad, because this Köhler died in Aceh, especially because of the eviction in Jakarta, because of the expansion of the City Hall office, so the bones are buried in Aceh. _Adli Abdullah observers of social culture of Aceh. For the people of Aceh the enemy was not brought to death. The enemy was there when he was alive, when he died it was considered to be the Children of Adam. So the Dutch parties at that time, in 1984, agreed, when Pak Muzakir asked that Köhler's ashes be brought back to Aceh. It was a spectacular act. Even after that, the grave of the Aceh Ambassador in Belandapun was renovated. So that the Governor of Aceh Muzakir Walad came to the Netherlands in Middelburg.Dubes, Tengku Syeh Abdul Hamid who was sent by Sultan Syaidil Kamil in 1601 as Ambassador of Aceh in the Netherlands and died in the Netherlands. So Köhler was brought back to Aceh and the grave of Tengku Syeh Abdul Hamid was renovated. So part of the historical evidence. Hence history is important, that's part of the identity of a nation. " _Adli Abdullah observers of social culture of Aceh. The Aceh War lasted from 1873-1904, a war where in Dutch history, this was the bitterest war over the bitter experience of the Napoleonic Wars. The Kerkhoff Grave is the second largest cemetery of Dutch troops after the first largest in the Netherlands. Kerkhoff's grave became an interesting tourist attraction, especially for foreign tourists from the Netherlands. Until now the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands very emotion and respect the citizens of Banda Aceh who care for the tomb neatly. The Dutch attacked the Aceh Sultanate on 8 April 1873 by sea while firing a cannon from the warship Citadel Van Antwerpen. At that time the Dutch army numbered 3198 people, including soldiers from ethnic Javanese, Ambon, Batak, and other ethnic Indonesian soldiers who are members of the Dutch East Indies Armed Forces. During the occupation of the Dutch East Indies, the Great Mosque of Baiturrahman was occupied by Dutch troops. However, in the first period of the war (1873-1874), the people of Aceh managed to resist the Dutch attack. Johan Harmen Rodolf Kohler, the Dutch general who led the Aceh War, was later killed and buried in Kerkhoff, Banda Aceh. The most tiring part of the war was the struggle to reclaim the Great Mosque of Baiturrahman. The war continued to rage for four periods from 1873 to 1910. With the guerrilla warfare method the Acehnese fighters finally made the Dutch surrender and left Rencong Land. Cut Nyak Dhien who led the attack continued to fight against colonialism until finally arrested, exiled and died in Sumedang, West Java. In this area, there is also the tomb of the son of Sultan Iskandar Muda, the Amat Popok who adultery and sentenced to stoning. ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/5c24cy95ak.jpg)

In this area, there is also the tomb of the son of Sultan Iskandar Muda, the Amat Popok who adultery and sentenced to stoning.\n ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/5c24cy95ak.jpg)",

titleTHE HISTORY OF THE MOSQUE BAITURAHMAN ATJEH
body![image](https://img.esteem.ws/6twcvavod5.jpg) Baiturrahman Great Mosque is a state mosque located in the heart of Aceh's special region. In the book mentioned that the mosque was founded Sultan Iskandar Muda in 1612 (1022 Hijri). In other words, the age of this mosque has now reached 404 years. However, in other narrations mentioned that who founded this mosque is the time of the era of the Kingdom of Aceh led by Sultan Alaidin Mahmudsyah in 1875 (1292 Hijri). Unfortunately, the mosque was then burned down due to attack of Dutch troops in its expedition in April 1873 (Safar 1290 Hijriyah). Four years after the mosque burned down, in mid-March 1877 (Safar 1294 Hijri) the mosque was then rebuilt in the same location. Development became the responsibility of Governor General van Lansberge who continued General van Sweiten's pledge. ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/jwa1v5dhje.jpg) The statement was later announced after a consultation with heads of state around Banda Aceh given the importance of the plan. The process of reshuffling in 1991 to 1993 was the most phenomenal. At that time, the expansion of the mosque to the extent of the mosque to be 3760 square meters using Italian-made marble floor. The expansion can accommodate up to 8,000 pilgrims. In addition, the addition of dome up to 7 pieces, 4 towers, and 1 main tower outside the mosque building. Outside of the mosque area, the court has an area of up to 4 hectares and has a pool. Parts of it are grass. Of course the apparition is now invisible because when done renovation back. The difference, this year's reshuffle is only done on the yard of the mosque, not in the area of the mosque. Seen from history, Baiturrahman Great Mosque has a very high story and value, especially for the people of Aceh, because Sultan Iskandar Muda is still standing firmly in the heart of Banda Aceh city. This Grand Mosque does not only serve for prayer but also a place of recitation, religious events such as mawlid prophet Muhammad SAW, warning I Muharam, Musabakah Tilawatil Qur'an and also the Great Mosque became one of the attractions of Islam. When the earthquake and tsunami (26 December 2004) which devastated parts of Aceh Baiturrahman Great Mosque became one of the mosques / buildings that still stands strong signs of destruction and many residents who survived while sheltering inside the mosque Great Baiturrahman. ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/vo7b123oks.jpg) Area / environment of this mosque is also made in the Islamic Shari'a area, so we should continue to maintain and prosper the Great Mosque Baiturrahman.

titleTHE HISTORY OF THE OCEANIC KINGDOM PASAI ATJEH
body![image](https://img.esteem.ws/gsbl8sq2u1.jpg) The seafloor kingdom was founded by Meurah Silu, who has the title of Sultan malik as-pious, around 1267, the pasajan ocean pasca located on the north coast of the south, around lhokseumawe, aceh north of aceh province, indonesia. In the Hikayat of the Kings of Pasai and Sulalatus Salatin the names Pasai and Samudera have been separated referring to two different areas, but in Chinese records the names are not distinguished at all. While Marco Polo in his trip recorded some list of kingdoms on the east coast of Sumatra Island at that time, from south to north there are names Ferlec (Perlak), Basma and Samara (Ocean). Based on Hikayat Raja Pasai, tells of Pasai's establishment by Meurah Silu, after he replaced a king named Sultan Malik al-Nasser. Meurah Silu was previously located in an area called Semerlanga then after the title of Sultan Malik as-Saleh, he died in 696 H or 1297 AD The reign of Sultan Malik as-Saleh was then followed by his son Sultan Muhammad Malik az-Zahir from his marriage to the daughter of the King of Perlak. During the reign of Sultan Muhammad Malik az-Zahir, gold coin as currency has been introduced in Pasai, along with the development of Pasai Ocean Kingdom became one of the trade area as well as the development of da'wah of Islam. Around the year 1326 Sultan Muhammad Malik az-Zahir died and was replaced by his son Sultan Mahmud Malik az-Zahir and reigned until 1345. During his reign, he was visited by Ibn Batuthah, then told that the sultan in the land of Samatrah (Samudera) hospitality, and the inhabitants of the Shafi'i School. Furthermore, during the reign of Sultan Ahmad Malik az-Zahir son of Sultan Mahmud Malik az-Zahir, came the attack from Majapahit between 1345 and 1350, and caused Sultan Pasai was forced to flee from the capital of the kingdom. The kingdom of Samudera Pasai arose again under the leadership of Sultan Zain al-Abidin Malik az-Zahir in 1383, and reigned until 1405. In the Chinese chronicle he was also known by the name of Tsai-nu-li-a-pi-ting-ki, killed by King Nakur. Furthermore, the Sultanate of Pasai continued by his wife Sultanah Nahrasiyah. ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/q8hou4u9fr.jpg) Cheng Ho's fleet which led around 208 vessels visited the consecutive Samudera Pasai Kingdom in 1405, 1408 and 1412. Based on Zheng He's travel reports recorded by his aides like Ma Huan and Fei Xin. high mountains to the south and east, and if continue to the east bordering the Kingdom of Aru, north to the sea, to the west bordering the two kingdoms, Nakur and Lide. Meanwhile, if continue to the west encounter with the kingdom of Lambri (Lamuri) mentioned at that time is 3 days and 3 nights from Pasai. During the visit Cheng Ho also presented a gift from the Chinese Emperor, Chakra Donya's Bell, around 1434 Sultan Pasai sent his brother known as Ha-li-zhi-han but died in Beijing. Emperor Xuande of the Ming Dynasty sent Wang Jinhong to Pasai to deliver the news. The central government of Pasai Sultanate lies between Krueng Jambo Aye (Sungai Jambu Air) and Krueng Pase (Pasai River), North Aceh. According to ibn Batuthah who spent about two weeks in Pasai, the kingdom does not have a stone fortress, but has lined its city with wood, a few kilometers from the harbor. In the core area of this kingdom there are mosques, and markets and traversed by a fresh river that empties into the sea. Ma Huan added, although the estuary is large but the waves are tempestuous and easily lead to the ship overturned. Thus the naming of Lhokseumawe which may mean the bay of which its waters swirl may be related to this. In the government structure there is the term minister, syahbandar and kadi. While the sultans of both men and women were named by Tun, as were some of the royalty. The Pasai Sultanate has several subordinate kingdoms, and its rulers also have sultans. During the reign of Sultan Muhammad Malik az-Zahir, the Perlak Kingdom had become part of Pasai's sovereignty, then he also placed one of his sons namely Sultan Mansur in the Ocean. But in the time of Sultan Ahmad Malik az-Zahir, the Samudera region has become a unity with the name of Pasai Ocean that remains centered in Pasai. In the reign of Sultan Zain al-Abidin Malik az-Zahir, Lide (Kingdom of Pedir) is mentioned to be the subordinate kingdom of Pasai. Meanwhile Pasai also mentioned having a bad relationship with Nakur, the peak of this kingdom attacked Pasai and resulted in the Pasai Sultan killed. Pasai is a commercial city, relying on pepper as its flagship commodity, in Ma Huan note mentioned 100 kati pepper sold with silver price 1 tahil. In the Pasai Sultanate trade issued gold coins as a means of transactions in the community, this currency is called Deureuham (dirham) made 70% pure gold weighing 0.60 grams, 10 mm diameter, 17 karat quality. ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/u4e0tya7hm.jpg) While people Pasai generally have planted rice in the fields, which are harvested 2 times a year, and have dairy cows to produce cheese. While the houses have an average height of 2.5 meters which is partitioned into several booths, with floors made of coconut wood or pinang wood arranged with rattan, and on top of it lay rattan mats or pandan Islam is a religion adopted by the Pasai community, although the influence of Hinduism and Buddhism also colored this society. From the notes Ma Huan and Tomé Pires, have compared and mentioned that the social culture of the Pasai community is similar to Malacca, such as language, as well as tradition at birth ceremonies, marriage and death. The possibility of this similarity facilitates acceptance of Islam in Malacca and this intimate relationship is cemented by the marriage of Pasai's daughter to the king of Malacca as told in Sulalatus Salatin. Toward the end of the Sultanate of Pasai, there were several disputes in Pasai that resulted in civil war. Sulalatus Salatin told of Sultan Pasai asking for help to Sultan Melaka to quell the rebellion. But the Pasai Sultanate itself finally collapsed after being conquered by Portugal in 1521 which had previously conquered Melaka in 1511, and then in 1524 Pasai region has become part of the sovereignty of the Sultanate of Aceh. Sultan and Sultanah who once led Samudura Pasai 1. Sultan Malikussaleh (Meurah Silu) 1267 - 1297 2. Sultan Al-Malik azh-Zhahir I / Muhammad 1297 - 1326 3. Sultan Ahmad I 1326 - 133? 4. \n\n ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/q8hou4u9fr.jpg)\n\n Cheng Ho's fleet which led around 208 vessels visited the consecutive Samudera Pasai Kingdom in 1405, 1408 and 1412. \n\n ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/u4e0tya7hm.jpg)\n\n While people Pasai generally have planted rice in the fields, which are harvested 2 times a year, and have dairy cows to produce cheese.
