Kuah Pliek U merupakan salah satu makanan tradisional yang cukup terkenal di daerah Aceh, khususnya di daerah pesisir timur Aceh. Selain dikonsumsi sehari-hari, Kuah Pliek U juga sering disajikan pada acara-acara tertentu dan menjadi salah satu menu special yang digemari masyarakat aceh\n\nAsal Usul Kuah Pliek U\n\nKonon Kuah Pliek U sudah menjadi makanan favorit masyarakat Aceh sejak jaman dahulu. Nama Kuah Pliek U diambil dari salah satu bumbu dasar dalam membuat makanan ini yaitu “Pliek U” atau yang lebih dikenal dengan Patarana. Pliek u sendiri merupakan sisa kelapa yang minyaknya sudah diperas. Di masyarakat pedesaan Aceh, minyak kelapa ini biasanya dijadikan minyak goreng. Sedangkan sisa atau ampasnya dijemur dan dijadikan pliek u. Pliek u ini kemudian gunakan masyarakat sebagai bumbu dasar dari Kuah Pliek U.\n\nKeunikan Dan Keistimewaan Kuah Pliek U\n\nPenggunaan pliek u ini akan memberikan aroma yang sedap serta memberikan cita rasa yang khas pada kuahnya. Selain itu bahan yang digunakan pada Kuah Pliek U ini juga merupakan aneka sayuran sangat bervariasi. Sedangkan bahan yang bertekstur keras seperti buah melinjo dan kacang tanah harus direbus terlebih dahulu hingga empuk. Setelah semuanya siap, bumbu serta sayuran dicampur dan diaduk-aduk hingga merata. Kemudian bahan yang sudah dicampur dengan bumbu tadi dimasukan ke dalam belangga (wajan), lalu diberi air santan dan direbus hingga matang.Kuah Pliek U ini biasanya disajikan bersama dengan nasi hangat.
