      "body": "## Foreward\n\nWe've all been there. Sometimes we buy into a crypto at the wrong time, watch the price plummet. Sometimes we forget to lock in our profits and watch our earnings start to dwindle. Sometimes we hop on the FOMO train and end up in the red, wondering what the hell happened. Any of the above cases can be frustrating, but can be mitigated by using simple technical analysis.\n\n![](http://i.imgur.com/EIAJm5x.gif)\n\nWhen trading, it is good to use multiple technical analysis indicators. Having a solid set of indicators you are familiar with helps you to make confident trading decisions. One of the most basic, but effective indicators is the Stochastic Relative Strength Index. A lot of people use it already, without really knowing how to utilise its true power. This post will help explain its basic principles in a way that is actionable.\n\nIn upcoming courses, I will cover other indicators I use to make trades, including:\n\n- Volume\n- Estimated Moving Averages\n- Bollinger Bands\n- MACD\n\nI was inspired to write this article after discussing Technical Analysis with my buddy @Kojinsama. Thanks for the help and educational inspiration!\n\n## Stochastic Relative Strength Index\n\nThis below is direct copypasta from Trading View. I would highly recommend you [visit the page yourself](https://www.tradingview.com/wiki/Stochastic_RSI_(STOCH_RSI)) and attempt to explain the concepts of the Stochastic Relative Strength Index to yourself as if you were a five year old. My inputs on how to USE the Stochastic Relative Strength Index indicator are below this text.\n\n> The Stochastic RSI indicator (Stoch RSI) is essentially an indicator of an indicator. It is used in technical analysis to provide a stochastic calculation to the RSI indicator. This means that it is a measure of RSI relative to its RSI's own high/low range over a user defined period of time. The Stochastic RSI is an oscillator that calculates a value between 0 and 1 which is then plotted as a line. This indicator is primarily used for identifying overbought and oversold conditions.\n\n## Sliding in Effortlessly\n\nThe Stochastic RSI tool is the gold standard among technical analysis indicators, and when used correctly can effectively mitigate risk when taking a position in the market of your choice.\n\nRSI analysis on a coin should start at on a broad timeframe. I typically start at the 1 day candle width.\n\nHere is an example of the 1 day market activity of Verge, concentrated on the month of May.\n\n![](https://www.tradingview.com/x/bpTHMVk2/)\n\nAs you can see here on the 1D chart, we’re pretty much flatlined before things begin to move, where I’ve circled and labeled the area [1].\n\n20% is the magical RSI indicator that can help you judge a trade, and is considered the 'oversold' line. When the coloured lines cross that barrier moving upwards, this is a bullish signal, and could be your last buy in chance before the wave goes up and is in the realm of FOMO. NEVER FOMO. The patient hunter gets the kill.\n\nIf you are skeptical on the [1] buy in due to the lack of volume or other signals, you can always wait until the next time it goes below 20% and comes back in.  You can see this opportunity on the second marker, labeled [2]. Never FOMO, wait for the next wave to buy in. It is always coming!  :smile: \n\n20% is the magical Stochastic RSI indicator that you can judge a trade on. It is your last buy in chance before the wave goes up and is in the realm of FOMO. NEVER FOMO. The patient hunter gets the kill.\n\nTo get the most effective price on a buy in, go from daily chart scanning down to the hourly of the day you wish to place your trade. If the hourly Stochastic RSI is also at a low point, zoom in on the 5 minute Stochastic RSI. When this has gone between the 10-30% threshold, make attempt a buy in near the lowest price in the last two candles.\n\n![](https://www.tradingview.com/x/TEU13jh4/)\n\n### Conclusion for Buy-ins\n\nKeep an eye on a coins RSI on the daily chart. When the coin has gone below 20% RSI and looks to begin its trend up, zoom in on closer candle widths to lock in a very calculated price. Always set a stop loss order, and play safe by looking for more bullish signals.\n\n## Don't Forget to Pull Out\n\nOnce you're in, figuring out WHEN TO GET OUT is often a stressful event. How do I best lock in profit in case of a crash? How do I make sure that I don't sell too early and miss the next leg? The Stochastic RSI can help you here too!\n\nIn the same fashion as earlier when looking for a position to buy in, I start with the larger candle widths, at a day. This is where larger waves are formed.\n\n![](https://www.tradingview.com/x/s6n0lwnq/)\n\nHere, instead of looking for the indicators dipping below 20%, I am looking for those going above the 80% indicator. Once it breaks the 80% threshold on the Stochastic RSI, I zoom in to the hourly chart.\n\nI wait until the hourly Stochastic RSI is ascending and has reached 50%. There and then, I set my stop sell at the most recent hourly low point.\n\nThis will give you room to continue to grow as the daily RSI trend continues upwards, but also enough wiggle room to account for any price fluctuations over the next few hours. Only do this in a market that is trending. Coinmarketcap is a great resource for further researching a coins fundamentals. Fundamental analysis is important before buying in. Indicators to look for in the coin are...\n\n- *All time coin movement*. You want to buy coins in the areas marked in green, and sell where red. Ignore coins that have low volume and not much activity in the long term. Learn about effective [ACCUMULATION TACTICS](http://pumperspicks.com/ultimate-altcoin-buying-strategy/).\n- A hot web presence. Check the website and make sure it looks legit as fuck. If they have money to spend on good design, development, etc, they're likely to have a future.\n- Unique Selling Points. Find out what niche they are operating in, how well their product seems to be built, etc.\n- Roadmap. Look on the site for a roadmap, find out what is upcoming and use this to gauge your trading. You want to buy between the news releases in accumulation phases where prices are low.\n- Social presence. On Coinmarketcap you can easily look at the social tab and see what kind of social presence they have. if they are not very active on Twitter or Reddit, there is a good chance that general interest in the coin is marginally lower. On their site, you might even be able to find links to their Slack, Discord or Telegram where you can often get insider information.\n- Arbitrage opportunities. Using the markets tab on Coinmarketcap, you can sort the coins by volume/price and find good opportunities to purchase a coin on one exchange and sell it on another exchange for profit.\n\n#### Analyse\n\nTechnical analysis should only be considered if a coin passes a decent fundamentals check. Otherwise you might just be getting in on a pump and dump shit coin. These things can be profitable, but come with high risk when you're stuck while a pile of shit in your bags.\n\nI tend to use technical analysis indicators such as those shown below on the 1D or 1H candle width to check the coins movement potential, to see where it's going in the near future. Also share it in any groups you're a part of for street cred and getting more people on board of a buy so that we can all go to the moon.\n\n### Example Usage\n\nA pro-user workflow looks as follows:\n\nOn bot post, scan the report really quickly. If you see any new coins on the hourly post, give a quick look over on the Twitter feed to see if anyone is doing some technical analysis already, or if some news articles are being hyped. If so, follow the method above. You can use these for potential day trading/scalping opportunities or swing trading opportunities.\n\nTo take advantage of these hourly trades, if they look legit, make sure you get in on a 5 minute or 1 minute RSI dip. Make sure that 1Hr and 1D RSI is also lower, always better. set a stop sell at 97.5% of your entry, and another at 95% to ensure you don't get fucked.\n\nKeep an eye on it and add stop sells as the price climbs to lock in profit.\n\nIf you're seeing recurring themes on top daily and top weekly coins, you should keep these on your watch list and do deeper research on their roadmaps and look for swing trading opportunities over the course of days and weeks.\n\n### How to be a winner\n\n- Do your own research\n- Do solid technical analysis and share it with others\n- Get more people to use the bot.\n- Wait for a trend to end or go into a Elliot Wave dip before buying again.\n- Buy in well after the trend is over and it begins to look as if it is going to start climbing again\n- Accumulate the dip\n- Sell the news\n- Stick to your system\n\n### How to be a failure\n\n- Blindly jump straight to the trade window and buy at market price\n- Ask others to do analysis for you without having searched first.\n- Buy in on a trend that is already rocketing.\n- Buy in after a trend is over.\n- Buy the news.\n- Sell the accumulation phase/dip.\n- Don't stick to the system.\n\n### Final note\n\nNow that you've mastered the art of trading, it is now time to get started. It rates the tweets and the users that tweeted them to ensure that the scores return the most favorable coins according to their Twitter hype. *More integrations are coming soon, including Reddit, Steem, and Google Trends.*\n\nIt then provides a rating (number of birds for Twitter) for that hour, and stores the scores in a database. Using this historical data, it rates the hottest coins of the last 24 hours, as well as the hottest coins for the last 7 days based on their averages.\n\nI am mining this historical data to find trends and build correlations in a beautiful UI that you will be able to view in an upcoming roadmap release.\n\n### How to use it\n\nThere are three 4 links provided with each score entry under the hourly, daily and weekly categories.\n\n#### Twitter\n\nYou can click on the coin symbol ($BTC) to view the tweets related to that coin, sorted by latest tweets. Dig through the tweet walls and keep an eye out for *technical analysis, news articles, speculation, and more*. This is highly fundamental in affecting the trading price, and can even cut your work out for you!\n\n#### Research\n\nThis link goes to Coinmarketcap. Coinmarketcap is a great resource for further researching a coins fundamentals. Fundamental analysis is important before buying in. Indicators to look for in the coin are...\n\n- *All time coin movement*. You want to buy coins in the areas marked in green, and sell where red. Ignore coins that have low volume and not much activity in the long term. Learn about effective [ACCUMULATION TACTICS](http://pumperspicks.com/ultimate-altcoin-buying-strategy/).\n- A hot web presence. Check the website and make sure it looks legit as fuck. If they have money to spend on good design, development, etc, they're likely to have a future.\n- Unique Selling Points. Find out what niche they are operating in, how well their product seems to be built, etc.\n- Roadmap. Look on the site for a roadmap, find out what is upcoming and use this to gauge your trading. You want to buy between the news releases in accumulation phases where prices are low.\n- Social presence. On Coinmarketcap you can easily look at the social tab and see what kind of social presence they have. if they are not very active on Twitter or Reddit, there is a good chance that general interest in the coin is marginally lower. On their site, you might even be able to find links to their Slack, Discord or Telegram where you can often get insider information.\n- Arbitrage opportunities. Using the markets tab on Coinmarketcap, you can sort the coins by volume/price and find good opportunities to purchase a coin on one exchange and sell it on another exchange for profit.\n\n#### Analyse\n\nTechnical analysis should only be considered if a coin passes a decent fundamentals check. Otherwise you might just be getting in on a pump and dump shit coin. These things can be profitable, but come with high risk when you're stuck while a pile of shit in your bags.\n\nI tend to use technical analysis indicators such as those shown below on the 1D or 1H candle width to check the coins movement potential, to see where it's going in the near future.
