| body | Thank you so much for sharing this amazing post with us! Have you heard about Partiko? It’s a really convenient mobile app for Steem! With Partiko, you can easily see what’s going on in the Steem community, make posts and comments (no beneficiary cut forever!), and always stayed connected with your followers via push notification! Partiko also rewards you with Partiko Points (3000 Partiko Point bonus when you first use it!), and Partiko Points can be converted into Steem tokens. You can earn Partiko Points easily by making posts and comments using Partiko. We also noticed that your Steem Power is low. We will be very happy to delegate 15 Steem Power to you once you have made a post using Partiko! With more Steem Power, you can make more posts and comments, and earn more rewards! If that all sounds interesting, you can: - Download Partiko Android at [Google Play](http://bit.ly/2SRFIta) - Or Download Partiko iOS on the [App Store](https://apple.co/2PcXkSd) Thank you so much for reading this message! |

| title | All eyes are (rightly) on $BTC 1-Day Inverse Head and Shoulders Set Up, not yet broken the neckline. |
| body | Point and Figure https://i.imgur.com/59047oD.png Today we extended our column of X's to 9 X's. There are not any current long poles of X's (going back to July 2017). We are still in the range between 3,240 to 4,454. Here are the recent long pole of O's, from the big wedge breaking down, which have not resolved 50%: 10/31/2018: 23 O's, resolves if price moves above $6,901. 11/15/2018: 19 O's, resolves if price moves above $5,885. 11/20/2018: 29 O's, resolves if price moves above $4,920. It could be a while before we see all 3 resolved, but I would be cautious shorting until at least the third is resolved with a price move above $4,920. In my last few posts I recommended to hold your long on the 3-day timeframe. This long was taken when the 3-day RSI bull div confirmed. This is still the case for the same reasons: The 3-day RSI is still low (no set up for continuation bear div) and there is no sign of bearish momentum shift on any other nearby time frames (12h, 1d). To take an opposing position for a moment, against the paragraph above: There is an argument to be made for closing the 3-day long just below the break of the neckline of the 1-day iH&S (described below). Then the long would be re-opened if the 1-day neckline breaks. I think this is a pretty intelligent strategy, but the obvious issue/question is where to enter the short hedge. I think it is cleaner to play the timeframes separately for now, and to 'double down' on your long if the iH&S neckline breaks. In my last post I noted that the symmetrical wedge of the 4-hour has broken out so violently that we are at resistance again and it is best not to play that break out. Oh well. Patience is important. It is good to say 'dang the winning move was to buy the 15m break out' and sit on your hands as opposed to chasing the break out after it has already played out. But I did draw some FIBs thinking that if we pulled back to the 50-62% FIB it would not be too late to take out a long on the 4 hour chart: https://www.tradingview.com/x/PBEEwOG8/ But as you can see the price never came down to this area (green square). The market has been a bit more bullish than I anticipated the last several days. Sometimes this means missing entries, and that is OK. That whole play on the 4-hr is long since over now. 1-Day Inverse Head and Shoulders Set Up All eyes are (rightly) on this set-up, although it has not yet broken the neckline. A close above the neckline on the 1-day chart would be a good entry for a long. |

| title | Point and Figure and a look at the symmetrical wedge on the 4h-1d timeframe on BTC |
| body | Point and Figure https://i.imgur.com/Ovj5heX.png Yesterday we entered into a column of 4 X's, and in 20 hours a column of 3 O's will confirm unless a new box of X's is reached. We have not had any new long poles since my last post. There are no more long poles of X's (since July 2017). We are still in the range between 3,240 to 4,454, although argument could be made we have a tighter range now of 3,651-4,073. In my last post I recommended holding your long on the 3-day timeframe. This is still true for all the reasons written there. Tight bbands on 4h-1d timeframes with a sym. wedge on 4 hour Here is the 4 hour chart with all the classic signs of sym. wedge. This classic wedge creates a good opportunity to play both a break out up and downward, although I would argue that a break down is more likely to fail because our higher timeframe (3 day) still has bullish momentum in play (3 day RSI bull div). For a 4-hour timeframe play, I would short or long the break of the wedge, taken at the a close on the four hour above or below the teal/orange lines. It would be tempting to use the 2 hour, especially with such a clear wedge. I think 4 hour will suffice though- it is safer. The wedge is also visible on 6h-1d timeframes so the 4 hour is actually fairly lower timeframe for this wedge. The break is more likely to be successful if it happens on monday. Weekends tend to go back to friday close by tuesday. |

| title | Watch for 1-day Inverse H&S on BTC, Point and Figure, and answer to "Has the 3-day bull div run its course?" + Don't forget to take part in Proof of Keys!! |
| body | Point and Figure https://i.imgur.com/LAbaoBG.png Today we've entered into a column of 8 X's. In my last post, I wrote about a long pole of X's from 12/20. This long pole was resolved 50% on 12/27. There are no more long poles of X's (since July 2017). It could be a while before we see all 3 resolved, but I would be cautious shorting until at least the third is resolved with a price move above $4,920. 3-day Bull Div (old chart) Last time I posted I recommended closing short-hedge on 2-hour timeframe and keeping 3-day long open. It has been quite some time since our 3-day bull div confirmed so I cant help but wonder 'has it played out?' Why haven't we reached my target of 5k yet? Is it taking too long? Answer: The 3-day RSI is still low. There is no bear momentum shift on 3-day, 1-day, 12-hour, or 6-hour, and no set ups for getting these in the near future. Therefore, the 3-day bull div has not played out. Hold long on 3-day timeframe. Patience is important. 1-day Inverse H&S Here is a set up for an inverse H&S. This will be a H&S if the price moves above the teal trendline. Confirmation occurs when the 1-day closes above the neckline. A H&S confirmation could be an opportunity to open a long position and a strong sign to close short positions. However, I am of the opinion that the 3-day bull div was the more appropriate place to open a long. My New Years Resolution: My new years resolution is to lose weight and work out more. 😉 Probably not appropriate to talk about here though so let me give you a resolution relating to trading. It has to do with tracking my trades. I have tried everything, from a pen-and-paper notebook to an excel sheet with complex calculations and built in visual basic functions to a onenote folder with detailed charts. I can't seem to stick to anything and I can't seem to re-visit old entries for discussion on how things played out. I've written long journal entries and cheat sheets detailing the importance of record keeping, then fall flat at it as quick as I do with my dieting goals. So this year I am going to stop trying to keep a trading journal of my own and instead use reddit. I tend to post on reddit anyway so what I will do now is be more divulging about where I've taken entries and exits on longer timeframes so that I can look back later and see how it went. I figure that I am more likely to stick to it if I only journal one place instead of 2 or 3. And I have a natural inclination to post here so why not. If you do not have your keys then you do not have control over your BTC https://www.proofofkeys.com/ Please take part in the Proof of Keys annual celebration tomorrow. Personally, my keys are split 3 ways. 1/3 is in my will / lawyer office. 1/3 is in my computer under time-encrypted password. 1/3 is memorized by myself and my loved ones. I validated it today. Validate your keys. Don't trust that you remember where you put them, etc. |

| title | Point and Figure for $BTC and our break down from 2-hr steep upward channel has resolved, what to do? |
| body | Point and Figure https://i.imgur.com/ow92Fg3.png We have confirmed a column of 10 O's. That leaves yesterday's long pole of 29 X's unresolved. A 50% retrace of that long pole would put us below $3,762. In my last post, I pointed out a break of a steep upward channel, I pointed out we were in a fairly large long pole (over-extended upward), and at the top of our PNF range. I recommended short hedging the confirmed break down of the 2-hour timeframe channel with a target of 3,875. We will reassess that target below. Following break from upward channel, touchdown on parallel trendline has occured Although it wicked to 3,902 and into my green box on the chart, we've missed my conservative target for the break down from channel of 3,875. Really impossible to tell if we will get some more downside here (mean reversion) or if we will continue up. In normal circumstances I lean towards 62% mean reversion but right now higher timeframe (3-day) still looks very bullish coming off of bull div on the 3-day RSI with no signs of bullish momentum slowing. So this could be all the relief bears get. TLDR, continue holding your long on the 3-day timeframe. If you shorted the 2-hour timeframe you'll need to decide to close around here at a small gain or to hold it and see if we move down to the lower area of support at 3,650 (this is stronger support area where we have a throwback, 62% fib, and bottom of the volume profile node). I don't think there is a right or a wrong answer, but I lean towards closing the short here. |

| title | Point and Figure for BITCOIN and a look at our 6-hour RSI Bear Div |
| body | Point and Figure https://i.imgur.com/OqIPRIw.png We have formed a long pole of 15 X's. A 50% retrace of this pole would put us below $3,762. We are at the top of the current range: 3,240 to 4,454 (3 boxes from the top, or 10% from the top). It could be a while before we see all 3 resolved, but I would be cautious shorting until at least the third is resolved with a price move above $4,920. 3-Day My last post was at the close of the 3-day, which confirmed a 3-day bear div which is still in play. I gave a strong buy recommendation. I hope you found your long entries. 6 Hour RSI Bear Div signals some relief for bears On the lower timeframes we see some signs that we are due for pull back downward. This doesn't mean the 3-day bull div has played out, it is just normal signs of mean reversion. It will be difficult to make the higher high above 38% fib at $4,488. Downward movement over next 12 hours is likely. TLDR; For those who bought the 3-day bull div, you can hold that long position although short timeframe looks like bears will be getting relief. |

Yesterday's daily closed gave us the same set up as on 12/08/18: A daily RSI bull div that could cascade into a 3-day RSI bull div. For those who played it the way I recommended on 12/08/18, great job. Sadly that wasn't me! So now I am in a bit of a pickle because we are coming up on a 3-day bull div confirming at today's close, but today was an insane +10.00%~ day, and I hate to buy following a big day like that. In 2 hours we will confirm a bull div on the 3-day RSI. This is big news because it is the first sign of momentum slowing on the 3-day chart, which is the same chart we broke down from a large wedge on. This is a clear buy signal. Also there is good confluence with some lesser quality oversold indicators such as VIX FIX (green bars) and TD Sequential (green numbers). TLDR: Best time to buy was yesterday's 1-day bull div close. For those of us who didn't, we'll need to watch lower timeframe and find an entry to play the 3-day bull div which confirms in 2 hours. 3-day timeframe is pointing towards relief for bulls. |

| body | Point and Figure https://i.imgur.com/kVbIygv.png We've confirmed a column of 15 X's (a long pole). We will have to move below 3,544 to resolve this column of X's (which we already have as of this writing). We've retraced our previous long pole of 29 O's 50%. We are in a range between 3273 and 4454. Last time I posted, I discussed what to look for during this downward price exploration following the break of the large wedge that would show that we have found a bottom (even if temporary). I recommended looking for a 3-day bull div. Having closed a 1-day bull div today was the first step towards what i've described in last post. Continue watching for the three day bull div. This is a common thing to happen, momentum indicators cascade from lower timeframes to higher timeframes. TLDR, bulls likely to get some relief on 1 day and 3 day timeframe. Enter long here at today's close of daily to play the 1 day timeframe and hold until 3 day bull div plays out. Stop around the lower low. |

| title | Point and Figure for BTC and looking for wedge break down to complete/play out |
| body | Point and Figure https://i.imgur.com/8UEox7Q.png We are in a long pole of 29 O's. In the last two years, out of 173 long poles, only 17 of them have been larger than 29 (16%). So this is a very long pole. Don't short such a long pole. 50% retrace of this pole would bring us above 3762. We have broken out of the 3651-4454 range. Arguably we are in a new range between 2992 - 4454, based on old horizontal level from between june-sep last year, but since it is based on old horizontal levels it isn't very reliable and I consider us to be in more of a downward price discovery. New all time highs for total amount of bitfinex shorts. Not exactly something you can trade off of but I will say I would never open a short when total shorts are at all time high. Too much risk! Last time I posted, we were watching a 6 hour bull div which had 3 hours before confirmation. That bull div did not confirm. Instead we moved lower and broke down out of our PNF range. I believe the break down from large wedge has almost completed playing out. I created a speculative chart: Our strategy would be to play the end of the break down of the large wedge using momentum. Since the wedge was on a 3 day timeframe, the plan is to watch for a 3 day bull div at support. This would signal the end of the push down and we should see relief. A 3-day bull div would be especially good because as I mentioned before we are in a downward price discovery and momentum indicators work well in those situations. Target could be made later, but right now it would be around the 50-62% fib, psychological resistance, and retracement of old long pole (11/20) at 5,000$. This play ideally works if today closes lower than it is right now. A green hammer close on today's daily might also signal the end of the move down, but it is less reliable than bullish divergence, so may be a good place to close a short (exit a trade) but not a good place to open a long (enter a trade). To avoid confusion let me remind you there is no 3-day bull div forming yet... I am speculating on what to watch for next week. |

| title | BTC Point and Figure and Discussion on Recent 4 Hour Bull Div |
| body | Point and Figure https://i.imgur.com/CIxTZnW.png When the daily closes in 10 hours we will have a new column of 12 O's. This will resolve 50% of yesterday's long column of 20 X's. Resistance was found at an old horizontal level around 4,454 confirming that horizontal level is still in play. Our range is now between 3,651 and 4,454. Here are the recent long pole of O's, during the crash down from the big wedge, which have not resolved 50%: 9/31/2018: 23 O's, resolves if price moves above $6,901. 9/15/2018: 19 O's, resolves if price moves above $5,885. 9/20/2018: 29 O's, resolves if price moves above $4,920. It could be a while before we see all 3 resolved, but I would be cautious shorting until at least the third is resolved with a price move above $4,920. 4 Hour Bull Div posted yesterday played out nicely It is no longer in play. Looking at how we are at lower end of volume node, 80% from ATH, and current 4 hour looks like it will be a hammer (1 hour to confirm), this will be a good place to close a short. Although tempting given downtrend on longer timeframes, I would avoid letting a short on this timeframe ride. With so many unresolved columns of O's, and no real bounce (just deadcats), there is too much risk of upside. Instead watch the price as it stays in this range and wait for good entry that you can manage risk on. |

| title | BTC Point and Figure and A Look at Yesterday's Bull Div and Where to Close that Long |
| body | Point and Figure https://i.imgur.com/9z8k6SS.png By moving up into a column of X's we have retraced 50% of the long pole from 11/27. We have formed a new long pole of 16 X's. 50% retrace of this new pole would bring us below $4,032. Here are the recent long pole of O's, during the crash down from the big wedge, which have not resolved 50%: 9/31/2018: 23 O's, resolves if price moves above $6,901 9/15/2018: 19 O's, resolves if price moves above $5,885 9/20/2018: 29 O's, resolves if price moves above $4,920 It could be a while before we see all 3 resolved, but I would be cautious shorting until at least the third is resolved with a price move above $4,920. Looking at all 3 resolutions relative to the FIB levels from break down from the big wedge, the last of the 3 unresolved poles is the only one likely to retrace, because it is below the 62% FIB: Here is a look at all the point and figure long pole data I have from the last 2 years: https://old.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/a0r6vq/daily_discussion_tuesday_november_27_2018/ean7now/ TLDR: 80% of poles resolve within the first 3 days, and most a few weeks later. Sometimes they do not resolve: There are 8 unresolved long poles over these last 5 years. Has been some good days to trade following the break down of the large descending triangle! Here we look at the resolution of our 12 hour bull div from yesterday Thought this bull div (pink thick lines) was promising because it occurred not just on RSI but on macd, macd histogram, and acc/dist. It did play out nicely. I believe that it is played out now, and thoughts of closing the long should be happening here. I say this because the RSI is very high now and a set up exists for a continuation bear div on the same timeframe that the regular bull div occurred. So where to exit the long? Well I like the area between 23% fib (light blue line) and horizontal level (royal blue line) just above it. This is also the top of our volume profile node (pink box). A good place for resistance. However, its worth noting that this is where you could close a long. I wouldn't open a short here, because if you were to open a short here what would you risk it against? We could continue up all the way to the 62% fib or beyond and retrace those long poles. Is a 12 hour bull div enough to stop the trend down? No. It only supplied us with some relief from the pain, and it has played out. This trend down is on a weekly timescale. We need to see a bull div on the 3 day or the weekly before we can get excited. A long sideways action (>6 mo) would also be a good sign that the classic boom/bust bubble cycle has come to completion. |

| body | Point and Figure https://i.imgur.com/pXuCEiY.png I thought it would be interesting to some to post a 2 year point and figure, sorry it is pretty large. You can see we have resolved the long pole dating back to october 2017 by breaking $4,544. I made a lot of speculation that this would happen a long time ago because retracing this pole would also mean coming down 80% from ATH. A As a true believer in BTC it was sad to see it happen. I am just glad that our 3-day closed very shortly after break out from the wedge. I was committed to not shorting until the 3-day confirmed the break down (per my previous posts) and it worked out really well with timing. Going back to the Point and Figure chart... We have 3 unresolved poles of O's, all from this month. 6,833 must be reached to retrace 50% of pole of 23 O's dating back to Oct 31. 5,827 must be reached to retrace 50% of pole of 19 O's dating back to Nov 15. 4,872 must be reached to retrace 50% of pole of 29 O's dating back to Nov 20. Lower timeframe divergence cascade on $BTC will end with a 12 hour divergence, confirms in 1 hour: I would like to see a bull div on 3-day or weekly before long term longs are opened, but this could be a signal to close your short or do a short term long (maybe close it at the top of my pink range, which is based on horizontal levels and volume profile). I don't usually see divergence across RSI, macd, macd histogram, and accumulation/distribution all at once... but it doesn't really matter much... I mostly only watch RSI and keep the others small at bottom of my chart. BTC google trends pick up with volatility. https://i.imgur.com/we7T3oe.png Attention is good for bulls long term. As we touch down on 80-85% from all time high, those who took the short on our big wedge break down should think about taking profits at the lower of this range (pink): |

| title | BTC Point and Figure - Descending Triangle is getting tight! |
| body | Point and Figure https://i.imgur.com/GE2NLbS.png It's been almost a month since I last posted one of these. I have been making good on my thoughts to not trade BTC until the descending triangle breaks (https://twitter.com/joyrider50/status/1031596366970028033). Last time we posted a PnF we were in the range between 6,000 and 7,400. Low and behold 3 weeks later and we are still in that range. We have had only 1 long pole in the last month (and it has been resolved). That is 1 out of the last 26 columns. Might be some sort of record since I started doing my PNF in 2016. This sort of sideways over long period is good for bulls because bitcoin is deflationary and time is on the bulls side. Descending Triangle Here's the descending triangle I've been watching for over a month. We are about 82% to the apex of the triangle, which means that when it breaks it is less likely for break out to 'fail', statistically. Lets look at the volume. Like all triangles, the volume is declining. The 20MA on daily volume hasn't been this low for over a year. 6400-6500 level is strong and good place to bulls to long with a loose trailing stop somewhere around break down of triangle. Bears should watch for break of linear trend & failure to make higher high. That would be a short at 7,200-7,429 with a tight stop. |
