Selanjutnya yang membedakan kedua frekuensi ini adalah interferensi sinyal itu sendiri, frekuensi 5GHz memiliki interferensi sinyal yang bias dikatakan sedikit jika dibandingkan dengan frekuensi 2.4GHz dikarenakan frekuensi 2.4GHz masih harus bersaing dengan gelombang microwave, Bluetooth dan sinyal-sinyal lain yang memiliki frekuensi serupa. Tapi pernahkah anda membeli paket internet yang kecepatannya up to 3,1 Mbps tapi pada saat melihat kecepatan download anda merasa ditipu, lalu siapa yang salah? Kalau anda merasa ditipu, jangan lansung kecewa. Sebenarnya kita tidak ditipu oleh provider, hanya saja kita belum paham. Jika kita membandingkan iklan 2 paket internet internet yang satu menawarkan kecepatan internet up to 3,1 Mbps dan yang satunya lagi hanya 396,8 KBps; yang manakah yang akan anda pilih? Sebenarnya 3,1 Mbps sama dengan 396,8 KBps; kok bisa? Pertama kita harus tau dulu 8 bits = 1 Byte 1024 Bytes = 1 KiloByte 1024 KiloBytes = 1 MegaByte 1024 MegaBytes = 1 GigaByte 1024 GigaBytes = 1 TeraByte Untuk mengetahui kecepatan download, caranya yaitu dengan mengubah Mbps ke KBps kemudian dibagi dengan 8 bits Kecepatan download = 2 Mbps x 1024 KB / 8 bits = 256 KBps Jadi kecepatan download maksimal kita adalah 256 KBps, bukan 2 Mbps begitulah sedikit penjelasan tentang kecepatan internet, semoga dapat bermanfaat bagi kita semua, apabila ada kekeliruan dalam penjelasan di atas mohon kiranya untuk dapat memberikan penjelasan di kolom komentar
