The Halloween event in Pokémon GO has finished this past November 1st in the morning, at which point the Día de Muertos event immediately started.\n\nHonestly the Halloween event was quite a letdown. Sure, some new Shiny Pokémon made their debut (as well as some new costumed Pokémon), but where was Spiritomb?? Last year I believe we had Spiritomb Research Tasks throughout the whole Halloween event, maybe even the whole month of October but I'm not too sure about that.\nThis year there was not a single Research Task from PokéStops during the event that had a Spiritomb encounter. Not even one from the Special Research, which really should have given at least one Spiritomb encounter.\nThe only way you could get a single Spiritomb Encounter this Halloween event was from the $5 Timed Research ticket. Which doesn't make any sense to me. Locking it behind that ticket this Halloween event was such terrible practice. Especially because it has already been available in the Special Research for Halloween the past years and even in Field Research tasks last year.\n\nThe only good thing about the Halloween event was that Zorua made its debut. Although there have been A LOT of issues with Zorua's release :/ Right now they're also not tradeable for some reason, I hope they will be soon as some friends and I kept a whole bunch of them.\n\nWhen the event started I was checking if there were any Pokémon that I still had to get Lucky from those with increased spawns during the event. I kinda thought I had all of them already, but I checked and I didn't have Spinarak Lucky yet! I guess I keep thinking I do have it Lucky even though I don't. So during the event I asked friends to keep some and trade them to me until I got a Lucky Spinarak. This time I didn't keep track of the amount I got from trades, but it wasn't a whole lot as you can see from these Pokédex entries before and after getting it Lucky. I do have a Lucky Golett though from longer ago that I just never evolved yet. I couldn't find that in the screenshots I've taken so I guess I still have to evolve it. I'll include it in another post then when I do evolve it.\n\nHere is a screenshot of the search result from my Shiny Pokémon this event and the stats of a few. The Shuppet and Unova Yamask aren't that great IV wise.\n\nIt's a bit strange that Pumpkaboo didn't get its Shiny debut until the second part of the event where was suddenly wearing a costume. I did encounter one Shiny! As you know, Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist come in Small, Average, Large and Super Size which is noticeable everywhere that you see them. That Lucky Spinarak is helping me closer to level 49 as I still have to receive some Lucky Pokémon from trades. Not a whole lot of Shiny encounters this event, though the new Pumpkaboo Shiny was a really great encounter!\n\nHow did the event go for you?",

During one of the recent events in Pokémon GO we had some new Pokémon make their debut in the game. Morelull, the Illuminating Pokémon, made its debut and also its evolution Shiinotic, the Illuminating Pokémon. Both of these Pokémon made their first appearance in the main series in generation 7 with the Sun and Moon games.\n\nThis event where they were introduced has already been much earlier during this month, but I haven't really been posting and so I just didn't get to this yet.\n\nHere are screenshots of when I caught my first Morelull during that event and had its Pokédex registry. I used to hold off on that because I'd prefer catching their evolved form in the wild for the Pokédex registry, but usually you might have to wait a really long time before ever encountering the evolved form in the wild for newly released Pokémon. That's why I decided I'll just try to get the ones that make their debut already Lucky and evolve them.\nWith that said, I do have some Lucky Pokémon in my storage that I still have to evolve. I kept them some of those Lucky because I'd prefer to first find their evolution in the wild for the Pokédex registry, and still haven't gotten to evolving them.\n\nDuring that same event I managed to get a Lucky Morelull from trades and evolved it in Shiinotic. This one just requires 50 Morelull candy to evolve, nothing extra. That was so crazy!! Then sorted by recent. The result is 12. So to get this one Lucky I have definitely been more lucky than with Mareanie.\n\nGoing forward I will probably often try to keep the ones I get from trades until I get a Lucky, to have an overview of how lucky/unlucky I am with some.\n\nGetting that Lucky also brought me a bit closer to level 49.",

This past weekend, on Saturday the 15th, the October Community Day took place in Pokémon GO. This time it featured Litwick, the Candle Pokémon. Litwick was already featured in the event that took place around this weekend and the event a week beforehand too, allowing people to try and find a good Litwick prior to the Community Day. Shiny Litwick however was not available yet during those events. The Shiny Litwick made its debut during this Community Day.\n\nJust like last month it took place from 2 pm to 5 pm local time. The bonus with this Community Day was 3x Catch XP. Also bonuses for 2x Catch Candy, 3 hours for Lures and Incense activated during the event, but those bonuses are always active on Community Days now.\n\nEvolving Lampent, the Lamp Pokémon, into Chandelure, the Luring Pokémon, during the Community Day or up to 5 hours after the Community Day would teach Chandelure the new Charged Attack \"Poltergeist\", a Ghost-type move. It is apparently not a really solid option unfortunately compared to Shadow Ball. Despite that I still evolved some of course, maybe they'll make the move better in the future. I prefer having the Community Day move on at least one Pokémon of the species anyway so I'll just keep it regardless.\n\nNow let's take a look at the stats of Litwick that I had before and after the Community Day. I already had a 100% IV Lucky Chandelure since 2019 which I gave a Fire-type moveset. I took screenshots with that one to look at my Litwick Candy. The two screenshots on the left are before the Community Day started and the ones on the right from after.\n\n<center>\n![Litwick stats before and after.fw.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmXTCX1X8AnaaT3ygWx9W5h8nKP8pD9oHhP2hjYD1a3hzw/Litwick%20stats%20before%20and%20after.fw.png)\n</center>\n\nStats:\n- Litwick caught: 465 ➡ 862\n- Litwick Candy: 2308 ➡ 5492\n- Litwick Candy XL: 117 ➡ 566\n\nAlmost 400 Litwick caught during the Community Day. Also a lot that ran away, but that's because I've been using the gotcha a lot for the catches. Perhaps without it I would've caught more, but maybe not, it's kinda hard to tell. I usually prefer using it. The 2x Catch Candy made it 6 Litwick Candy per catch. I had my Mega Gengar at Mega Level 3 active, which further boosted it to 8 Litwick Candy per catch. Which, for the 397 catches amounts to 3176 Litwick Candy. However the stats display I got 3184 Litwick Candy. I guess I must've caught one more between the after Litwick Pokédex stats screenshot and the stats on Chandelure.\n\nI also got 449 Litwick Candy XL from those 397 catches. That's almost enough to potentially power up two to level 50. These stats were before transferring many of the bad stats Litwick, so I'll get to 600 easily. Not that I'm really planning to power up any Chandelure to 50 right now, but it's always good to have the candy in case I'd wish to.\n\nNow let's see the Shiny!\n\nOut of those 397 catches, I caught 28 Shiny Litwick during the Community Day.\n\nI then filtered the search to 3-star and found that I caught a few 3-star Shiny Litwick. We even had a lot of sunshine so I ended up taking off my jacket at some point because it was warm enough in a sweater. I enjoyed this Community Day. We also walked around with a bigger group than usual, which was also fun. There were a lot of other people playing too that we sometimes ran into.\n\nOverall a really great Community Day. I think I'll evolve quite some of the bad stat Litwick as well for some extra XP from evolving them, since I have a lot of Litwick Candy now and it seems better to use some of that Candy to evolve and get XP.\n\nDid you participate in the Litwick Community Day, and how did it go?",

Which had both been posted with such a big delay, especially the level 46 one. When I posted those it was actually around the time that I reached level 48 already, so I am also posting about that with a big delay xD\n\nI actually reached level 48 at the end of August, a few days after the final GO Fest day event took place in August. It was mostly the souvenirs objective that I didn't complete yet to level up. I had not been actively using Buddy Pokémon that already had 3 hearts, which is when they can get souvenirs. This seems to occur on average every 2 days.\n\nMy screenshots from the level 47 hit date back from halfway through May, so it's been about 3 months and a half between reaching level 47 and level 48. I did already have the exp much sooner, because as you may recall from my post about reaching level 47 I almost had the exp for level 48 already at that time. I just take my time and sometimes also wait for one of my friends to catch up a bit before levelling up.\n\nHere are the screenshots from my level up. So after levelling up Professor Willow comes to talk for a bit about reminiscing and looking back on our accomplishments. I am still on that same step though, it's been completed but I'm just waiting to see what next Shadow Pokémon the leaders might have with them before I claim these Rocket Radars. It might be stupid to wait, because their next line-up could be way worse than the Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle line-ups they have now. That's because there has been so much time between these level ups and I've just been getting more and more exp. Even as I'm writing this I'm getting closer and closer to the exp for level 50 already even if I still have to hit level 49. While writing this I have one more challenge left to hit level 49.\n\nLet's take a look at these objectives.\n\nThe first objective is to make 10 trades with Pokémon caught at least 300 km apart. This one is easy to do if you sometimes hatch 7 km Eggs and join Remote Raids and then trade those bad IV ones with friends for Pokémon they caught where you live.\n\nThen the next objective is to obtain 50 Lucky Pokémon in trades. It doesn't keep track of the Pokémon you've previously received Lucky yet, so this can require a lot of trading. I recently talked about how it took me almost 80 trades just to get Lucky Mareanie during the Fashion Week event. With luck like that it can take a while.\n\nIt's also required to send 500 gifts to friends. If you regularly do that this challenge easily gets completed. I still wish Niantic would increase the amount of gifts one can keep in their inventory though. If I go on a decent walk I easily spin waaaay more than 20 PokéStops/Gyms but I don't really stop to send gifts. It did show up when I levelled up saying \"Obtain 35 Platinum Medals\". This means I already had enough Platinum Medals to cover it. One of my friends recently reached level 48 as well, but they were only at 33 of the 35 Platinum Medals. Luckily for them they're getting close to a few more Platinum Medals.\n\nI have been trading a lot already, and I'm now less than 10 Lucky Pokémon from trades away from reaching level 49. It might be this month if there are some more interesting spawns to ask from trades, but we shall see. During the recent event of Evolving Stars, Tynamo and Heliolisk were amongst the event spawns. For the collection challenges it was important to evolve a few Pokémon, which included evolving Tynamo into Eelektrik. At that point I didn't have Eelektrik in my Pokédex yet, for a moment I even thought I had to evolve Clamperl into Huntail and was like \"Huh? Clamperl isn't part of the event\". Then I facepalmed myself when I realised the dark silhouette was that of Eelektrik. Because I already have Huntail in the Pokédex it simply couldn't have been that one xD I told this to a friend when I saw him later that day, and he apparently actually thought at first that it was Huntail as well 😂\n\nThe event also featured some Event Field Researck Tasks for Evolving 1 Pokémon for 500 Stardust or Evolving 3 Pokémon for 2000 Stardust. I've often tried to get two to three of these tasks and then evolve some frequently spawning Pokémon to complete those.\n\nTynamo spawning in the wild provided an easy way to catch one and evolve it to Eelektrik for the Collection Challenge, but I prefer evolving a Lucky one for the new Pokédex registry. That way I have the evolution line Lucky already as well and only have to evolve the whole line once instead of twice. I looked in my storage and yes I had a Lucky Tynamo that already dates back from last year that I just hadn't evolved yet 😅\n\nTime to change that and evolve Tynamo into Eelektrik and then also immediately further into Eelektross. Here you can see my evolving of Lucky Tynamo, the EleFish Pokémon, into Lucky Eelektrik and Lucky Eelektross. This Pokémon made its debut earlier this year. During the event I already traded it with friends and a got a Lucky Helioptile, but I had not evolved it then. The Lucky Helioptile was still sitting in my storage. This past Saturday, October 8th, we had a Raid Day event. This time the event took place from 2 pm through 5 pm. During the event all Gyms were hosting Mega Gyarados Raids for the full 3 hours. Up to 5 additional free Raid Passes could be received between 2 and 5 pm that day to challenge these Raids. With an increased chance Shiny Gyarados.\n\nThe day before with some friends and some others in our group we made plans to meet up at the same Gym where we meet to star with Raid Hour. We decided to meet up at 2 pm there to do a bunch of these Raids together.\n\nHowever, it seems Niantic made a fuck up and in some of the earliest timezones the event already started at 11 am instead of 2 pm. At least they decided to let the event run for 6 hours everywhere then. So it became from 11 am to 5 pm basically. Which did lock all Gyms for 6 hours. Luckily it started early and didn't start too late, and luckily they did make it last 6 hours then even though it started early. Otherwise that would've really screwed people's plans if they decided to meet up and find the Raids gone.\n\nWith that fuck up, the Raids still lasted 3 hours, but at 2 pm when those Raids disappeared new ones immediately started.\n\nOne friend and I were a bit early at the meet up point, and we decided to give it a shot and try a Mega Gyarados before 2 pm already. Which we managed to defeat with just below 50 seconds left. We walked around to some of the other nearby Gyms to do some more Raids. Currently we get 2 free Raid Passes, and during the Raid Day event we got 5 additional ones for 7 in total that day. Most of us stopped after 5 or 6 Raids to save another pass. I stopped after 6 Raids. Which was a 1275 gain. That's some solid amount to have now. I've recently been using Mega Gyarados a lot to boost Water- and Dark-type candy gains and exp during a recent event, and then even more after to boost Yveltal XL candy chance.\n\nAfter the Raid Day, some of us still decided to go walk around to catch some Pokémon rather than going home and back out for a walk later. Which was great as it was some good weather outside, not too cold and quite sunny which made for an enjoyable walk.\n\nDid you participate in that Raid Day?",

I have been trading with friends to get Lucky Mareanie as it made its Pokémon GO debut during this event and with quite some spawns of it that's a good time to try and get it Lucky.\n\nHowever I was met with such misfortune when it came to getting a Lucky Mareanie!\n\nI already traded a few I think that I did throw away before I made sure to exclude Mareanie from the list of Pokémon I would transfer at the end of the day or two days.\n\nOne day I started to exclude the Mareanie from my search query in the storage to filter on transferring Pokémon, and because of that I was also keeping all the Mareanie that I received from trades.\n\nEventually I already had 74 !!!!! Mareanie in my storage that I received from trades. Which you can look up with the search query \"traded&mareanie\". Here you can see that search query gives me 74 Mareanie! In these photos you can see my Pokédex stats as well.  So 74 of the 167 that I caught are actually from trades! Maybe even a few more. Finally Lucky  though! Unfortunately their stats are so low they're both 0-star when you appraise them, but still absolutely great to have them! I already had Butterfree and Kirlia since last year's event so they're not new. During Raid Hour I did a decent amount of Yveltal Raids and no Shiny at all, not with any of the other Raids that week. Sunday I went on a walk with some friends and finally got a Shiny Yveltal from one of the Raids we did!\n\nI didn't use my Daily Adventure Incense all week, so I decided to use it again. And then I encountered that Shiny Onix from it! xD I love how it shows up a Shiny in the overview of the Incense when it's over! From that Incense I also had an encounter with Galarian Zapdos, only 47 CP but it still didn't stay in 😥\n\nHow did the event go for you? Earlier this week the annual Fashion Week event started in Pokémon GO. Again I'm quite late with posting about it since it started on the 27th 😅 I hope you did read about it on the official Pokémon GO site to have an idea about the event!\n\nThe event will remain active until Monday, October 3rd at 8 pm local time.\n\nA lot of costumed Pokémon are appearing in the wild now, with a few more new additions as well. One of them can now evolve, which is Croagunk that can now evolve into Toxicroak with the costume. Diglett and Absol are newly added costume Pokémon this event. For some reason Diglett can be evolved into Dugtrio with the costume right away. Which doesn't make much sense to me honestly. If Croagunk with the costume can now evolve then at least let one of the other ones evolve instead of letting the newly costumd Diglett evolve right away xP But it is what it is. I do hope that next year the costumed Kirlia can evolve!\n\nAbsol with the costume as wild spawns is sooo awesome though! That allows to catch quite some Absol and work on the candy and look for a good one to Mega Evolve. Well that mostly goes for some of my friends as I do have a 100% IV Absol I once got from a Timed Research. Those Pokémon are Mareanie and its evolution Toxapex. This also applies to Shinx, but on top of that Shinx with the costume can also be found in the 1-star Raids.\n\nI'm using Mega Gyarados during this event, to boost the Candy and exp when catching Mareanie, Frillish and Absol. Of course it depends on which Pokémon your main focus would be.",

By now the Steel-type Event called Test Your Mettle has already ended, but I had no created a post yet with the Catch Challenge rewards.\n\nIn my blog post about the event I did show the tasks you had to do for the first part of the Test Your Mettle: Catch Challenge. Here are screenshots of the rewards. An Onix encounter was received for the second task and for completing this complete first step a Togedemaru encounter was rewarded. For this step we had to Catch 25 Steel-type Pokémon, make 15 Curveball Throws, Evolve 3 Steel-type Pokémon, make 5 Excellent Throws, catch 5 different species of Steel-type Pokémon and take snapshots of 5 different wild Steel-type Pokémon.\n\nIn that previous blog post I mentioned that we would get Aggron Mega Energy from the 2nd step, but I didn't know how much it would be. Turns out that it was 50 Mega Energy.\n\nThe encounter rewards for 5 Excellent Throws and catching 5 different species of Steel-type Pokémon were Alolan Sandshrew and Beldum. Completing all of them gave an Aron encounter. Where it took us a bit more than 2 and a half minutes to defeat it, causing us to get only 175 Aggron Mega Energy. Which was not enough to Mega Evolve it unfortunately. I also didn't really feel like using another Raid Pass for Mega Aggron, so I had to complete this 2nd step of the Timed Research to get the 50 Aggron Mega Energy. That brought me to 225 Aggron Mega Energy and allowed me to Mega Evolve it.\n\nI had this 100% IV Aggron that I caught as an Aron way back in 2018 and it's been at level 40 for a really long time already. This one was obviously going to be the one I would use for Mega Aggron.
