      "body": "So people ask me about ridesharing. \"How much money do you make?  \"Do you like it?\"\nThe answer is never a straight one. I seem to find myself constantly annoyed by Uber, but than going back to it like a jilted lover. The other day, I got a text that I could get a bonus of $3 per ride if I drove between 5 pm and 7 pm. I had one ride between that time, and didn't get the bonus. After further investigation, it turns out I would have needed to be in San Francisco, not Sonoma County to get the bonus. But the problem is, the initial text didn't state this.\nAnother issue I have with Uber is that it seems like they help set a precedent where people feel like they can take advantage of us. What other company have you heard of where you can  drive a few miles to pick someone up off of a busy road. You get there, and it's a private gate. The time does not activate yet because you are not officially at their house yet. And when they tell you to use a certain code to open the gate, the code does not work. You try it again and try to call the \"client\" again and can't get a hold of them. You cancel, and because you weren't able to prove how long you were there, you get no cancellation fee. In fact, after telling Uber about the problem, you get a notification that they can't even find the information about the ride. It's not that I need $4 that bad. (Or maybe I do.) It's that when you ping somebody for an Uber, you are getting a great service. You are literally having somebody pick you up in their car for a very reasonable price. So I ask you, dear customer, why you can't make it easier on us. You can see on your cell phone exactly where I am. Do I really need to look for you that hard? I shouldn't have to. Yet you'd be surprised how often I do.",

      "body": "So........\nSo much to think about. Paradigms are changing. People are changing. The nature of wealth is changing. I've been struggling financially most of my life. I've committed to changing that. In 2014, I made my first bitcoin investment on coinbase.com. Many say that it doesn't count if you use an exchange, that you need to get a wallet on your phone or computer. So I'm trying to investigate that. I'm a novice with these things. I sort of neglected my coinbase account for Gemini. I am a twin after all, and seeing that it's run by a set of twins was inspirational to me. It seems the fees aren't as high, and I've had less trouble signing in and out. But I do like coinbase, and seems to be easier to initially set up. Also, you get referral fees if people buy $100 or more. \nAndreas Antonopoulos had a great video stating that he would never recommend the same wallet to everyone. Everyone is in different realms of evolution in their bitcoin knowledge. Coinbase and Gemini are great for newbies. Is there risk? I suppose there is. I am very hesitant to give people advice, as I am still learning and don't want to be blamed for any crashes. But I also don't want people to miss out. \nMy twin brother has been wanting to join the fray but has been afraid of getting hacked etc. especially since it happened to one of our older brothers. I've been wondering if I should dip my toes in etherium, litecoin, and other currencies. I feel skeptical about bitcoin cash, but I will say that I understand Roger Ver's concern about bitcoin not being real bitcoin. I've had people tell me that any bitcoin that is still attached to your bank isn't the best route, but I'm also afraid of having things stored in hard drive wallets etc. Part of the solution could be to get paid in bitcoin for goods and services.\n I would rather write for steemit, for instance, than to keep my wordpress blog. I'm more excited about putting my music out on musicoins as opposed to spotify. \nA year ago I had 3 bitcoins but I had to sell them because I needed the money. I learned my lesson, and now am trying my best to hodl even though my number of bitcoins is closer to 10% of one. My bitcoin is my IRA, my savings, my financial everything. I'm hoping it's secure. But people who think the dollar is so secure may be in for a huge surprise as well. \nAnyways, I was going to write about the variety of issues concerning me, but seem to always go back to bitcoin. I am doing Uber and Lyft also, but spariningly. \nToday I had to bring 2 separate groups of people for fast food runs. On one level, it wasn't a big deal. But it's not my path. Whenever I'm doing a job just to earn money it becomes difficult. I keep doing rideshare because it's flexible but I'm trying to venture off into other forms of business. I will be fleamarketing, which includes selling pretty much I own except for my car, etc. That is a story in itself. I'm about half way to paying that off. I use Metromile for insurance, which I pay for by the mile except for when I'm picking up or dropping off an uber (but not lyft.)\nMy debt is substantial and no longer something I can ignore. I get daily phone calls from banks. I get emails regarding student loans. But I refuse not to HODL.",

      "body": "I wrote this song in Hyderabad India. It's kind of about starting your life over again. Redemption, that sort of thing. It came out of pain and well, anger. It was originally title \"leftover anger\" but when I started to sing it, it soon became beautiful anger. The thing is, I really wasn't try to write a song at the moment. But I was overcome with emotion about something. The best songs, in my opinion, write themselves. \nI had previously met Chetan, a cinematographer, in a neighborhood called Kondapur, in Hyderabad. He told me if I ever wanted to make a music video that we could work on something. Fast forward a month or so, I had written and recorded this song. At that point I had also joined a running club. Dr. Vignan, who ran the club, had pushed me to run more and more. It was while I was running that I constructed the story for the video. I wanted to make an inspirational story that could fit into a few minutes. My idea of a great video shows the band minimally. I feel like videos where you're staring at the band have already been done. I did get to shoot a cool rooftop scene with guys playing music, (it wasn't really a real band though.) At the end of the editing process, we got to be in it a lot less in order to fit in the story. \nI was working during the day, and it wasn't easy to coordinate everyone's schedule, and to find a young woman to play the lead's love interest. A few women that I talked to seemed interested at first, but couldn't commit. Than I found someone who was also in the running club, Aparna. \nI also had to coordinate times to film at Kikaboni, which is a store and cafe that a friend of mine owned. We also had a filming day at Gowchabowli Stadium. After we finished I wasn't sure how it would get edited. Chetan's friend was going to edit it, but couldn't commit to all of it so he ended up teaching himself editing on Adobe Premiere and doing it. I'm proud of how it turned out. I spent under $200, mainly for rental of the camera. \nA couple years later, I had formed A band and rerecorded the song.       "body": "I try to be a non complainer. But one thing that really frustrates me is traffic tickets. Part of the reason they make me mad is that I'm basically a really safe driver. And I'm on the road a lot, being that I drive for lyft and uber. The last ticket I got was in July. I went to court on October 4, the day I was supposed to, and was told that the officer had not yet filed the case. I thought that meant the case was closed, and they said only if he doesn't file it from a year when he wrote the ticket. Sure enough, I got the ticket 2 weeks later.  Either I have to pay the fine (almost $300, plus a fee to eligible for traffic school and traffic school itself.) Or I can fight the ticket. I have to go to court and get a date to come back, and most likely the officer will be there. \nPeople used to say, \"Just show up and if he doesn't show up you don't have to pay.\" But the last two times I've gone to court to fight the ticket the officers showed up. The first ticket I deserved, and I paid it. I tried to argue out the second one but the judge had no pity on me. \nAnyways, this ticket I got in July is bogus. I wasn't going that fast. It was in Bodega Bay, and the guy was sitting in his car just a little past the 25 mph speed zone. He said that I was going 38, which still really isn't that fast. I would argue that I was coming down from the hill and that he clocked me before I passed the 25 mph sign. But I have a feeling if he's in court I will have to pay.\nSome guy I met at the flea market told me that Ticket Crushers really works! You just go to a lawyer and pay them 100 bucks and usually they get you out of it. I'm not sure if they have that out here, and I would really love to hear from people about their experiences with that.  I know for the most part cops are just doing their jobs like everyone else. But bogus traffic tickets are abhorrent and should be frowned upon by the system. But they aren't because they provide revenue.",

      "body": "Today I went to Jack London State Park. Besides also going there a few days ago, I hadn't been in probably 20 years. It's a beautiful place and I highly recommend it. I grew up about half an hour away in Santa Rosa. The stuff I found out there had me so inspired and as I was asking questions to the Docent Lou, I became filled to the brim with ideas of writing about his life. \nThe revelation was strange because I always like to make up my own stories or write from my own adventures but his stories were so vibrant to me that I can't help but preserving them. Some of the stuff I found out about Jack from my time at his estate:\nThe father he grew up with, John London, was actually his step father, and he didn't know that he wasn't his birth father until he was 20 years old. When he reached out to his biographical father through letters, the guy didn't want to have anything to do with him and said he had been impotent, so denied fathering him. Most likely it was him though, and his name was William Chaney, a professional astrologist, who apparently had other wives. When he found out Jack's mother was born, he tried to convince her to abort the child and than left her. Jack mother than attempted suicide by shooting herself but didn't die. It was printed in the local newspaper so Chaney left San Francisco.\nJack got picked on at school because he used to read a lot. He was fascinated with Rudyard Kipling, Herman Melville, and Robinson Crusoe. He also had a friendship with Luther Burbank, who gave him the idea to cultivate spineless cactus on his land.\n8 years before he died, he went on a ship called the Snark and sailed the south seas. Apparently he got sick and rubbed some kind of lotion that contained mercury. This, along with Scurvy from another journey and dental issues, all contributed to his illness and eventual death.\nThe last 5 years of his life was mainly spent in Glen Ellen, California. Years earlier he had come there because his wife Charmian had an aunt who lived there. He fell in love with the land and bought several parcels (I believe.) He died in the porch room area at the age 40.\nHe dreamed of cultivating eucalyptus trees, and wanted to grow several thousand of them. He gave up on this idea, but was able to convince his publishers that he needed more money because of this. He added on a study to the already large house.\nThe first woman he married was originally the fiance of his friend who died in the military. They become good friends, but he soon realized he wasn't in love with her. He originally wanted to marry Anna Strunsky, a friend of his he knew from a writing circle. He loved her for a while but thought that maybe she was too well to do for him. Apparently she loved him too but their lack of communication prevented it from becoming a reality. He had two daughters with his first wife but than left her.  Later he married Charmian, who had been a typist in an office and he had known her for a while.\nWhen he was still a teenager he went on a hunting expedition in Japan and got into a few fights where he felt he had to assert himself. When he came back and was working his odd jobs, his mother encouraged him to enter a writing contest and he won $25, furthering his resolve to become a writer.\nThe guy I was talking to also made it clear that some biographers have called London's death a suicide, but that he believes beyond a shadow of a doubt that wasn't the case. \nAnyways, there was so much more and I am so fascinated by what I learned today.",
