      "body": "Math, as we know it, has a lot of problems that others have to solve. While some enjoy dealing and solving these equations, others cringe even at the though of it. However, a question asked in a primary school math paper has left many confused. Students in China’s Shunqing district of Nanchong city, during an exam were asked, “If a ship had 26 sheep and 10 goats onboard, how old is the ship’s captain?” The question appeared on a fifth-grade level paper, intended for children around the age of 11. The complicated question has created quite a buzz on social media platforms, where both adults and children are coming up with multiple answers to this strange question.\n\nInterestingly, education officials stated that the question was not a mistake but meant to highlight the kids’ “critical awareness”, according to a BBC report. Moreover, pictures of the questions also circulated and also triggered a debate around the question.\n\nWhile many gave up, other came up with interesting responses to this mind-boggling question. A student stated that the captain should be at least 18 years old because a minor is not allowed by law to operate a vessel, whereas another said that the captain was “quite narcissistic” and the number of animals corresponds to his age as per a South China Morning Post report.\n\nWhile this math problem has little to do with the subject, it has surely garnered a lot of attention. Something similar to when Donald Trump’s “Covfefe” made it to the ISI Kolkata question paper. The second year students of the Master of Statistics programme at ISI Kolkata found a rather interesting question in their paper on Martingale Theory. A question that read “Mr. Trump decides to post a random message on Facebook and he starts typing a random sequence of letters {Uk}k≥1 such that they are chosen independently and uniformly from the 26 possible english alphabets. A crisp layer of newly fallen snow crunches under foot as one explores the eclectic collection of past, present and future project cars scattered around the compound.\n\nThe open exhaust pipes of one of Smith’s more notable creations, dubbed Rus-T, are coated in a blanket of glistening white crystals, next to a vintage flat front GMC van that has seen better days.\n\n\nFootsteps in the snow lead one past an old truck which looks like it may have been liberated from the set of MASH to a doorway which has been heavily decorated with hot rodding stickers.\n\nPush open the door and one is faced with a gentle blast of warmth from a wood fired barrel furnace. As your eyes adjust from the brightness of a sunny Winter day to the dim workshop, you become aware that this is no ordinary space. A nearly complete Sixties era Chevy pick-up dominates the space in the front room, while another sits on a lift in the back. A rat rod in progress sits off to the side, while Smith’s bearded face is focused on an ancient looking rear axle housing. Pretty much every surface of the space is occupied by treasures collected throughout the years.\n\nAs a teenager in the Toronto suburb of Scarborough, Smith’s first car was a ‘78 Honda Civic, complete with a body made of Swiss cheese, as was the standard for Japanese imports in those days. It didn’t run and had to be pushed to the local garage. But the full extent of the company’s willingness to sideline ethics concerns to increase profits is still emerging. Three German carmakers appear to have commissioned or supported a study in 2014 which exposed monkeys and humans to exhaust fumes and nitrogen dioxide, according to German media reports on Monday.\n\nThe study by the European Research Group on Environment and Health in the Transport Sector (EUGT) was never published and the research institute overseeing it has since been dissolved. All three carmakers involved in the study — Daimler, BMW and Volkswagen — distanced themselves from the research over the weekend.\n\n“We are shocked by the extent and application of the studies ... We condemn the experiments in the strongest terms,” carmaker Daimler wrote.
