There was (and there is) Grad Kiev, which gave rise to Kievan Rus, and Cossack Zaporizhzhya Sich, and super state Rech Pospolitaya and the Russian Empire.  In the 20th century, Ukraine received a real independence and the opportunity to manage their own destiny.\nToday, Ukraine is known for its embroidery, political processes, humorous population and hryvnia – this is the name of the local currency. Her story is worthy of special mention.\n\n\nHryvnia: from hair ornament to coin\n\nThe word \"hryvnia \"comes from Sanskrit griiv'a, which means\" nape \"and is very similar in pronunciation with the word\"hryvnia\". And really, the Ukrainian women wore gold hryvnias which were used as way of  payment when their husband had no money.\n\nIn 9-10 centuries, the hryvnia was not  only currency unit , but also the weight unit . So, a silver hryvnia weighed about 204 gr , and was equal to 4 kunas – 51gr. Kuna is a weight and currency unit , as well as the name of the coins ,used in Russia in the X—XV centuries. By the way, the hryvnia was cut into small segments, in russian used verb rubit , from which the word «ruble» comes . \nThe cost of hryvnia varied ,which perplex peasantry a lot,cause they had to pay taxes to noblemen. First, hryvnia  was equal to two, then three, then ten cents.\n\nDuring the Civil war of 1917 -1922 on the territory of Ukraine was walking carbovanets - that's how it sounds \"ruble\" in the Ukrainian translation. Incidentally, in the Soviet Union, the ruble, used in the USSR, too, were called karbovanets.\n\nThe hryvnia appeared again after 1991 and became the only settlement facility on the territory of gained independence  Ukraine.\n\n\nThe hryvnia moves only upwards\n\nAt the beginning of the introduction of the hryvnia, its rate was at 1.76 per dollar. However, by 2015, it amounted to 25 hryvnia per dollar. Such a drop in the cost of the population took without any enthusiasm.\n\nHowever the Ukrainian people, as well as any other slavanians, are known for the enterprising nature. It is widely known that there were  frequent cases when residents of neighboring countries earned a lot of money on currency differences. For example, Belarussians bought hryvnia from themselves, then went to Ukraine and received a significant profit on the difference.\n\nFrom the bills to the owner of the hryvnia gaze famous figures of Ukrainian history. One visit to this country is enough to fall in love with it. The country has a drawback — a local currency. It is the most beautiful in the world, but unfortunately not much stable. Some time after that local fake coins were minted on the territory of Georgia, but they were not long into circulation.\n\nLater Roman “aureus” (gold coins) depicting the cross and Iranian parthian coins depicting fire took over the circulation. Only after several centuries silver “tetri” followed mongolian copper coins. They are considered to be the first Georgian money.\n\n70 years between rouble and lari\n\nIn summer 1918 the fund of national money was created in Georgia. The local people had to give all their savings and property to this fund. The contest for the design of banknotes was announced at that time. The Georgian painter Sharlemagne was the winner of that contest. The banknotes of Georgian roubles contained the script in national language, and on the other side one could find French and Russian expressions. The people understood that new money couldn’t avoid inflation, but accepted it with confidence. In 1920 Georgia signed beneficial agreements with European countries, the country received loans and by the end of the year it was ready for national currency launch.\n\nBut in 1922 the country joined USSR. The rouble became a national currency for more than 70 years. Only after gaining state independence status in 1990 Georgia issued its national currency. At first there were Georgian coupons equivalent to rouble. In 1995 lari came into circulation. Lari is translated as “wealth” from ancient Georgian language. The design of banknotes was created by the painters Nodar and Bachana Malazonia. Tetri became a petty cash coin.\n\nBy the way, Georgian money is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world, it is nice to see it at least once and to hold it in the hands. Also the modern Georgian banknotes have multi-layer protection, so it is difficult to counterfeit them.\n\nCurrency exchange? Not that easy!\n\nOne of the major financial revolutions in Georgia took place during Saakashvili president’s term in 2004. The president spent much time visiting foreign countries, attracted investments and made the life of people more European-like. Nowadays any financial issue can be resolved in a Georgian bank, though 15 years ago it was not easy at all. \n\nHowever, not everything is going smoothly in Georgian financial world. The spread on currency exchange rates can be up to 40 tetri, which is quite significant when exchanging large amounts. One more surprise for the tourists is the high volatility of local currency. The exchange rate can change several times a day, and if you decide to use a bank card, you will get familiar with all the beauties of the conversion at a loss. \n\nBut the major trap is waiting for you in fake currency exchange shops with the money changers. The scheme is classical: it’s lucrative according to calculations (the difference can be up to 10%), but the money can be fake. The favourite places of the scammers are markets and bazaars.\n\nSo, what to do?\n\nIt is not recommended to hold foreign currency in Georgia. It cannot be used as a payment method by law, and many hotels and restaurants will not accept it. \nSo, let us remember that a cheapskate pays twice and let us visit the bank. You can get 245 lari for 100 USD and 299 lari for 100 Euro. Not so good as with money changers (260 lari for 100 USD), but the money is real. You can buy a large package of food (3kg of rice for 3 lari, 1 liter of juice, 3 loaves of bread, 300 grams of meat), to pay for launch in the restaurant (25-40 lari), to pay 2 nights in the hotel (starting from 25 lari depending on level) and even to pay to a guide for some excursions. However, you are not guaranteed to exchange money at such an exchange rate, because there can be several spikes in exchange rates during the day…\n\n“Why do we need all these troubles with money?” — asks a wise Georgian man, lighting a pipe. Hawala becomes a digital technology nowadays. The second thing, the analysis of trends shows that the volume of cross-border transfers will increase. I am interested in everything that makes our life more comfortable and less expensive.\n\nWhat is the perspective of this project? What is the difference of the project from the others?\n\nAraneoBit has an interesting business model, where the revenue does not depend on the transaction amounts. The system works in the way that there is actually no real transfer of money. The transfer is made in tokens. In other words, only computer signal is transferred. The fee for AraneoBit service is fixed and is lower than the commission of the banks. This is an interesting alternative model. In fact this is money sharing. I like the idea of sharing economy in AraneoBit project.\n\n\nWhat does this term mean?\n\nThe trouble is that the humanity has huge resources, but these resources are not used effectively. If we learn to share the resources, we will be able to turn liabilities into assets. For example, sharing in tourism is when you rent out your apartment during your travelling. AraneoBit project has a similar scheme. People have counter offers for money transfer, for exchange fiat money into tokens. Why are you interested in blockchain?\n\nI think that crypto projects, AraneoBit as well, sit at the headwaters of economy digitization. Blockchain is an important technological breakthrough. Business has always had an incentive for changing the history, to alter or to add something. Blockchain will create a new concept of transparency: if to record the verified data in the blockchain, the data will stay untouched no matter what. With blockchain you can make deals even with no trust, without notaries and security deposits, simply thanks to the technology. In my opinion, conceptually this is the start of transition from analog economy to the digital one.\n\nWhy you chose the role of an advisor in this project?\n\nScience is the priority for me, in other words, the main thing for me is the research of technology and its application in real life. It is related to the project, but indirectly. On the other hand, I have some system approach towards technologies and trends. I think this knowledge can be useful for the project in the current moment as well as from the point of view of strategy.\n\nWhat will you do after the ICO?\n\nI will share the information, will tell about AraneoBit project to people. I will present it as a tool for transformation in financial sphere.
