      "title": "What is the meaning of life?",
      "body": "<p><img src=\"https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/19/de/a8/19dea8ab06b9130d0237aa3f01fcd8fc.jpg\" /></p>\n<p>This question has bothered people of all ages and all cultures around the world.<strong> It is common opinion that you either understand life or live it</strong>, and yet those who claim to have understood it never reach a unanimous consensus, whereas those who claim to have lived it, never seem to be any happier than those who supposedly haven't done so just as much. Is life pointless? Everyone has a different point of view on the matter, and there are as many ideological frameworks that give shape to the definition of what life is as there are individuals capable of meditating on such problems. That's why many people liquidate the question with a simple &quot;<em>whatever works&quot;</em>.<strong> If your life is going to be fulfilled by doing this or that, do this or that</strong>. This seems to assume unfortunately that we are retroactively capable of finding what gives true meaning to our life and that we can never be chasing vain dreams or illusions. That is unfortunately the case most of the times, especially when we are blinded by the trends of the moment, by aesthetics, by nostalgia goggles, etc. </p>\n<p><img src=\"https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1b/Nietzsche187a.jpg/220px-Nietzsche187a.jpg\" /></p>\n<p>Other people, like the infamous <strong>Nietzsche</strong>, blame the ideological structures of our society for the impossibility to find the true essence of our life, and therefore urges us to tear them down, to start anew and live moment after moment, fighting tooth and nail with the reality of our existence so that we can shape ourselves in an ever-increasing reach towards the truth. The final result will be a point in which past and retrogade ideological structures will be continually replaced by new ones, in an ever-ending evolutionary clash with the universe. This sounds like a very romantic and heroic idea to anyone, but it falls short in too many aspects. Who is to say the new ideological structures will be more true? How can one's life be fulfilled if the only way to live is to move forward, without the ability to reach any objective, thus making the objective the journey itself? <strong>But if the objective is the journey itself, what is the point of starting the journey in the first place? A journey is made to reach a place, how can anyone start if they already know they will never reach anywhere?</strong> It is no coincidence, I believe, that Nietzsche became mad towards the end of his life. So what do I believe is the meaning of life? I believe, that like all things, the human mind is incapable of evaluating something without the existence of its opposite. How can something be considered good without the existence of evil? How can light exist without the existence of darkness? How can life exist without the existence of death? And how can a meaning to life exist without the existence of something in life that surpasses life itself, so that whatever is inside the parameters of life can be judged? When one looks objectively to religions around the world, this is the question that they have always tried to answer. Whether you believe you will be revived on earth under a different plane of existence based on your behaviour, whether you believe in heaven or hell, whether you believe in valhalla, the focal point is and always will be the relationship that life has with a different state of being capable of adjectifying our experiences. It is the only way to evaluate life and therefore give it a meaning. A person asks themselves <em>“does this action have a meaning, and what is its meaning within the framework of life?”</em>, and the only way that answer can be reached, is by the existence of something outside of life that gives to that action the qualities and the context to interpret it. That something has to be outside of life, because what is inside life is all that we can know and experience, which makes objective truth impossible to attain. <strong>It would be like being inside a house, and trying to find out how big that house is compared to those around it, while not being able to look outside</strong>. A materialist will reject this notion, because to a materialist there can be nothing else besides what we experience in this life. Yet, a materialist will always come up with a conception of what is present in our life, that is very close to what non-materialists believe, with the exception that for him it doesn't have any particular meaning. What we do and live is ultimately pointless, it is because it is. So they accept the standard that is reached by evaluating life with a set of beliefs that surpass it, without acknowledging the revelation of truth that those sets of belief have made possible. So what is the meaning of life? <strong>The meaning of life is God, and more loosely religion, because being unavoidibly the arbiter and measure of the characters of life and th universe by definition, is also the means upon which we are forced to rely when giving a meaning to life</strong>. Those who abandon faith, abandon life itself.
