Ephesians 3:20\n *Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power* *that worketh in us,* \n\nOur text this morning is what is still happening to the church till now. The church has a Herod in the witchcraft coven, demonic altars, marine altars etc. These agents of Satan afflict the church with diverse sicknesses, poverty, negativity etc. James was the first casualty of the prayerlessness of the church. Perhaps the church members were too busy with their work, business, school etc and there was no time to come to church for prayers. Perhaps some people said, God really understands my situation and the economy isn't friendly. Where was God when James was killed? Where was that Angel that God promised to give charge to keep his people in all their ways? As long as the church is too busy to pray, Satan too will be very busy to afflict the members one after the other and God will still be God because God can't move on earth without believers authorizing him in the place of prayers \n\nWhen the church woke up from slumber, Peter was already in prison with chains. Brethren, there are many believers that are in demonic prison because the church has lost its powers in the place of prayers. \nWhen the church prayed without ceasing, what happened was, Psalms 91:11  *For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.* was activated that same night Peter was to be killed. The church now realized that James would not have died.\n\nChild of God, don't wait till the devil finishes your health, your family members, your finances even the church. Attack that negativity now before it proceeds further. Let the church wake up from slumber and pray without ceasing because you don't know who is the next victim. You don't know which family the devil will strike next.  \nActs 12:5  *Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.* but prayer was made of the church unto God. People gathered in the church, there was no excuse. Almost everyone that comes to God, is doing so with expectation. People pray believing that there will be answers but almost everyone will have a story to tell with their experiences with God. \n\nIn our text, John the Baptist the fore runner who baptized Jesus, was sent to prison for preaching the gospel. \nThe answer of Jesus to the message of John did not match the question. Child of God, the offense starts in your heart. Satan will ask you, the year is about to end what do you have to show? Where is the benefit of serving God? Your prayer request since January has it been answered?\n\nThe next thing is for that Believer to be discouraged to pray. He or she will start coming to church late if at all he or she will come. Serving God is now in the past. But how do you react, when things go wrong in your life. Do you blaspheme him and forget his goodnesses.\nI'll be making my references from the Bible.\nLet's read.\n  Psalms 78:41  *Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.* \n\n *HOW CAN WE LIMIT THE BLESSINGS OF GOD?* \n\n *1. FORGETFULNESS AND INGRATITUDE:* How many believers are aware that it is not sin alone that can limit the power of God?  What did God hold against the children of Israel?\n Psalms 78:42  *They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy.* They forgot where God picked them from? Believers today easily forget how God helped them yesterday just because of what they are going through today, their faith in God fails. Just because prayers are not answered, we easily forget that God had answered our prayers before now.\n\nWhen we are not grateful to God for everything whether it is good, bad or ugly, we are limiting the power of God in our lives. \n1 Thessalonians 5:18\n *In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.* \n\n2. *MURMURING:* The children of Israel were very good at murmuring. Numbers 14:2\n *And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of* *Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!* God destroyed that generation because of murmuring. People of God, that murmuring about the Pastor, Elder, women leader, the church, God hears them. \n \nToday, the message is that those murmuring limits the power of God in the church and in the life of a believer. God searches the heart and listens to the voice of our minds. \n1 Corinthians 10:10\n *Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.* \nPhilippians 2:14\n *Do all things without murmurings and disputings:* \n\n3. *SIN:* Sin limits the workability and manifestation of the power of God in the church and in people's lives. Isaiah 59:1-2  *Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:* \n *But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face* *from you, that he will not* *hear.*\n\nLimiting God is all about his power not finding expression in our lives like it should be.
