| body | Hi all! This time I will go a bit deeper of how the transaction of Bitcoin works. Before getting into the headline let us first recap of what happens in the background when someone sends a Bitcoin, or in this case, Bob. Bob send 5 BTC to Allice. What is happening in the background is the following; 1. The transaction is being broadcasted to the networks 2. The miners will verify the transaction 3. The transaction will be put into a block 4. Miners get their Bitcoin rewards, move to the next block To verify the transaction the miner needs to solve a cryptographic puzzle, the so-called SHA 256. Why so? For the sake of the security, and this function it’s not only used in Bitcoin but already everywhere without us knowing that we have been using it all the time (Bank transaction, the password for social media, etc.). That’s basically what happens in the background. But what if I forge my transaction? Digital Signatures. How can we be sure that Bob really send 5 BTC to Allice and he is not broadcasting a fake one saying that Allice sent him 100 BTC? The answer, Allice must sign the transaction in order for the transaction to be valid, and only she can do that. How does that work? First, everyone in the network (me, you, everyone who want to send and receive Cryptocurrency) have the so-called public key and private key. The private key is as the name suggest, private to our self, it should be kept safe and should not be shared with anyone, and the public key is available to everyone. This is basically what happens when Allice makes a transaction to Bob • Allice signs the transaction derives from her Private key and send it to Bob’s address. Sign (transaction, private key) • The miners verify the transaction using Allice’s public key in order to check her signature. Verify (transaction, signature, public key) = True/False Using this concept and the technology behind it, the miners can verify that it was indeed Allice’s signature by checking her public key and without knowing her private key, and no one can copy her signature because it changes for each transaction. The signature will change but it will always correspond to her private key in order for the miners to verify her transaction. Bob send 5 BTC to Allice, does Bob even has 5 BTC to begin with? Now instead of having a balance of all transactions to proof that indeed Bob has at least 5 BTC to begin with, Bitcoin system works like the following; Every transaction on the Bitcoin's blockchain is linked to the previous transaction. So, in the background not only Bob send 5 BTC to Allice's address, Bob also needs to refer the previous transaction(s) where he received 5 or mote BTC into his transaction. And the miners will also verify that Bob indeed received in the past from one or many transaction(s) a total of 5 or more BTC. So that’s it for this post, critics are welcome 😊 |

| body | Bitcoin as most of us know is currency on the internet. Well, that is right, but how is it different from our dollar? Here I will try to explain a little bit deeper how it works and what are the differences between Bitcoin and our fiat currency (Dollar, Euro, Yen, you name it) and what is Blockchain? In our daily life if we spend money to buy something with our credit cards the bank will save the transaction of what we bought and how much the thing cost. Let’s say you buy a desk with a credit card that cost $200 from xyz store on Monday the 1st of January 2018, the bank that issues your card will then write in the ledger that you bought a desk that cost $200 on Monday the 1st January 2018 from xyz store. In the Cryptocurrency world, these transactions that were made between many parties were calculated by the so-called miners, they are essentially a bunch of computers, doing cryptographic function to calculate and save these transactions. Let’s say you send 5 Bitcoin to your friend on Monday 1st of January 2018. In the background this transaction that happened between you and your friend are being proofed and calculated by the Bitcoin miners through the cryptographic functions, these transactions will be then saved into a “block” and will be broadcasted to the network, so everyone on the network will have the ledger that contains all the transaction that has happened. After the first “block” is full, the next transactions will be saved into the second block and the third block and the fourth block and so on and so forth. That is why the technology is called the Blockchain technology. So instead of counting on a single entity (Bank in this case) the transactions are being processed by everyone and being broadcasted to everyone on the network. Decentralized instead of centralized. Only peer to peer transactions? Actually no! Bitcoin algorithm alone can do much more than peer to peer transaction, for example, Voting, just as transaction the vote will be calculated by miners and thus the voting answers can’t be tampered with. The transaction itself can be represented as a Currency, digital certificate of ownership, etc. so that is it for my post! critics and ideas are welcome! |

That is why the technology is called the Blockchain technology.\n\n\n\nSo instead of counting on a single entity (Bank in this case) the transactions are being processed by everyone and being broadcasted to everyone on the network. Decentralized instead of centralized.\n\nOnly peer to peer transactions? Actually no! Bitcoin algorithm alone can do much more than peer to peer transaction, for example, Voting, just as transaction the vote will be calculated by miners and thus the voting answers can’t be tampered with. The transaction itself can be represented as a Currency, digital certificate of ownership, etc.\n\nso that is it for my post! critics and ideas are welcome!",

| body | Confuse what to write this week, my friend suddenly asked me about a train ticket when I told them everything I know about transportation in Germany and I realized that maybe the information that I have can help someone out there, so I decided to write about it. In the Germany train ticket are really expensive, most people said it’s due to the fact that the only company who operate train here is Deutsche Bahn, they control the train company as a whole allowing no competition to arise. However, don’t worry I’m about to share some tips on how to travel cheaper in Germany. 1. Bus This is hardly a news but I’m going to write it anyway! What else if not the Meinfenbus Flixbus! Meinfernbus were starting to rise in 2013 and after that couples of long-distance bus company popped up (Flixbus, Postbus, Megabus, etc) over the next few years Flixbus and Meinfernbus merged as one company and they started the acquisition of other long-distance buses, despite the “monopoly” status they still over us a good price. 2. Train! Yep, you read it correctly, but by train I mean only when they give you a special offer! Every now and then the Deutsche Bahn always gives interesting offers for it’s customer such as, discounted version of Bahncard which gives you 25% or 50% discount and if you already have Bahncard you can collect points and exchange it for tickets, and also their regional offer for the regional train for example, Baden-Württemberg ticket that cost 23 Euro for a person and 5 Euro extra for every extra person up to 5 person for a whole day for a whole region. Not only the “obvious” one, there is also offer that can be gained through the partnership between Deutsche Bahn and Mytrain. At the moment it cost 60 euro round trip with ICE/IC/EC train.Although not all of the schedule is available with 69 Euro round trip what are we to protest :) There is also 3rd party travel website that usually has an interesting offer for example Ltur. The last option I will mention is Flixtrain. Yes, it’s the same company as the mega bus company, now they are starting to build a train company, having a couple important lines, from Berlin to Stuttgart and from Hamburg to Cologne. At this moment, they offer one ride for only around 10 Euros. 3. Car Sharing Car sharing is also one of the easy and cheap way to travel in Germany, they are more famous for short trip ride between cities rather than long trip ride due to the uncertainty factor. One of the most reliable website now is Bla Bla Car, there you can also be the one that offer the free space in your car. I have been using it for years (also for a long ride) and have no problem until now. Is it safe ? i would say yes, for the driver to be able to offer the ride they need to give ID and all the other requirements to the company and on the other hand the driver can also first see who will ride with them and accept them or also don't accept them. Here is about the rating of the driver and the passenger, as long as you are choosing it carefully you should not get problem. One more thing, and this i would say is the life hack part of my post. Some of the time if you are traveling from and to "not so famous" city, it's not easy to find someone who also travel from your "not so famous" city and want to go your "not so famous" destination. However! there are people who also travel from famous city that will pass your city and/or your destination (which they don't write because they don't think there is a demand), here is the key, try to write the driver a message if it's possible for him to pick you up or that you first go to one place with bus or other kind of transportation so the driver can pick you up. This has happened to me for few times already, there was no offer from my city to my destination but i managed to negotiate with the driver and so he picked me up in my "not so famous" city and dropped me off in my "actually quite famous" destination. So that all so far what i know on how to travel cheaper in Germany, any ideas or critics are welcome :) Link: Flixbus: https://www.flixbus.com/ Flixtrain: https://www.flixtrain.com Mytrain: https://www.mytrain.de/ Ltur: https://www.ltur.com Car Sharing: https://www.blablacar.de/ |
