First the bad news – it’s so ‘brand new’ that you’ll only be able to get your hands on it towards the end of October. ¯\n\nNow, the good news. The Xperia XA1 Plus costs Dh1,199. In typical Sony fashion – the camera on this device is crazy good. With imaging tech taken straight out of Sony’s digital cameras – the device features a 23MP rear camera and a F2.0 lens which means that low-light photography shouldn’t be an issue. The camera also features hybrid autofocus and can capture images in a reported 0.6 seconds. Your selfie snapper is an 8MP camera with a 23mm wide-angle lens for those group pictures. Other flagship features that you could get for Dh1,199 include a 5.5-inch Full HD display, fingerprint sensor and tuned audio performance.\n\nWhile it runs on a 64bit MediaTek Octa Core processor, its power stats and features are the main talking points. Follow me on this, it runs a decent 3,430mAh battery, paired with Sony’s ‘Qnovo’ Adaptive Charging and Sony’s amazing ‘Battery Care’ feature.\n\nWhile previously reviewing this device’s older, posher, sibling the XZ Premium, ‘Battery Care’ was a pleasant surprise. This feature kicks in after using the device for a few weeks when it learns your smartphone usage habits. Its main aim is to prolong the lifespan of the battery by learning with when you go to sleep, if you charge your phone overnight, and when you wake up. It slows down your charging while you sleep and makes sure you wake up to a fully-charged battery. This feature paired with Qnovo adaptive charging (another technology to increase battery lifespan), its 3,430mAh battery and its not-so-powerful processor, would make the XA1 Plus a good choice for a power user.\n\nThe device will be available in the UAE towards the end of October at Dh1,199.\n\n<hr>\n(Nokia 3 @ Dh499)\n\nWhile the Nokia 8 can easily be called an affordable smartphone at approx. Dh1,699, the Nokia 3 retails at an impressive Dh499. Pegged as one of the best cheap phones available, the 3 is built well and looks good.\n\nKeeping the price in mind - the 3 isn’t very powerful, it runs on the lesser known MediaTek MT6737 processor. That being said – it is aimed at first time smartphone users who wouldn’t require that much power.       "body": "Cabinet reshuffle announced by Mohammad gives a big push for sciences and advanced skills\n\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmV8wFS1SorNExHhQJT87VGFwcGBGEx2Ua752eQV9R3fSA/3068046156.jpg)\nAbu Dhabi: The UAE is looking for another great technological leap forward in a world in which cars drive themselves, machines recognise people, and humanoids travel unattended, performing everything from mundane factory tasks to emergency rescue, the Cabinet reshuffle shows.\n\n“The new era focuses on future skills, future sciences and future technology, as we prepare for the centenary to ensure a better future for our generations,” His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said as he unveiled the new Cabinet on Thursday.\n\n“We want the UAE to become the world’s most prepared country for artificial intelligence,” Shaikh Mohammad said on his twitter account on Thursday.\n\nTo keep pace with the rapid advance of artificial intelligence-oriented and other advanced technologies, Shaikh Mohammad appointed Omar Bin Sultan Al Olama, 27, who headed the UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy, as the Minister of State for Artificial intelligence, and Sara Al Ameri, 30, who chairs the UAE Council of Scientists, as the Minister of State for Advanced Sciences.\n\n“The new government will catapult the UAE into its prosperous centenary which aims at fostering knowledge, science and research as well as engaging the youth in the leadership of the nation,” Shaikh Mohammad said.\n\nShaikh Mohammad assigned Al Olama to lead efforts to make the UAE the world’s best prepared country for artificial intelligence.\n\nExperts say self-driving cars, factory robots and a new class of farm hands known as ag-robots are already demonstrating what increasingly mobile machines can do.\n\nShaikh Mohammad instructed that Al Ameri will be in charge of research and development and building capable scientists. She also heads the UAE Council of Scientists and the nation’s Mars Mission. “We want hundreds of models like Sara to contribute to the prosperous future of the UAE,” Shaikh Mohammad said.\n\nThe new government — the 13th in the UAE’s history — saw the appointment of six new ministers, including three women. The new Cabinet is made up of 31 ministers, including nine women. So, the representation of women in the Cabinet has increased to 29 per cent.\n\nHoning AI skills\n\nAs the UAE has identified artificial intelligence and machine learning as the next big areas of innovation, Shaikh Mohammad has assigned the Minister of Higher Education to prepare people at the front lines of the revolution, that means developing and honing a blend of programming and data analytics skills, with the necessary business overlay in this new art.\n\nShaikh Mohammad said Ahmad Abdullah Humaid Bel Houl Al Falasi,\n\nMinister of State for Higher Education, will be tasked with the additional portfolio of Advanced Skills.\n\n“My brother Ahmad [Bel Houl] is in charge of imbuing national talent with the skills of the future. Advanced technology will create new jobs and make half of existing jobs redundant within just 10 years.\n\n“We have also charged my brother Ahmad Bel Houl with heading the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources to make sure our national talent are ready and armed with the advanced skills of the future.”\n\nFood security\n\nThe one area where the UAE needs to show continuous vigilance is in stability because, as a desert nation, about 80 per cent of its food supply comes from lands more amenable to food production, making it essential for the UAE to manage the risks to the stability of source countries, including those where the UAE seeks to invest or has invested in the agri-food sector — in Africa, Latin America or the Middle East.\n\nShaikh Mohammad assigned a new portfolio of food security to a state minister to be able to manage this risk in the long term — to produce more of the country’s food needs locally.\n\nUnder the current system, the UAE Government and the national food industry keep a healthy balance between self-sufficiency and imports.\n\nShaikh Mohammad said Mariam Al Muhairi has been appointed Minister of State of Food Security to ensure the future food security of the nation, with respect to research, planning, and technology.\n\n“Food security is a national issue of the future, necessitating research, knowledge, and projects. Our faith in our youth is high,” Shaikh Mohammad said.\n\nEmiratisation\n\nShaikh Mohammad was concerned over the slow pace of recruitment of citizens by the private sector and appointed Nasser Bin Thani Al Hameli as the Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation. “We are still slow in the Emiratisation drive and Nasser faces a large task,” he said.\n\n“We also announce the appointment of Hessa Bint Eisa Bu Humaid as the Minister of Community Development. The Emarati household is our biggest bet for the cohesion of society. After you have chosen the most cost effective groceries and planned your route to save time and money, the next time you go shopping, try to stick to your list of to-buy items until you form a habit.\n\n(6) Ask the butcher’s help. If you know how to cook the basics, then you’ll know exactly what portion of fish, beef or chicken meat to buy in your house. This event is in line with the UAE govt’s vision to develop Emirati talent in space research and technology.”\n\n“I was pleased to see students alongside experts & decision-makers. They’re our hope for a better tomorrow, & will shape the UAE’s future,” he added.\n\nThe debut edition was held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.\n\nShaikh Abdullah, in his keynote address on Saturday, traced the evolution of human knowledge that is reaching new heights.\n\nHe said humanity today could very well be at the cusp of “a qualitative leap in civilisation, especially with a growing interest in space industry and sciences, which open up wider scopes for the development of a better life for all”.\n\n“In the past 10 years, IT and communication solutions and the emergence of social media have left a deep impact on human communities,” he said.\n\nThe great progress made by humanity includes artificial intelligence and virtual reality technologies and 3D printing.\n\nHe underscored the importance of the past as a source of inspiration for wisdom and noble values in the current era that is embodied by space exploration and science.\n\nShaikh Hamdan and Shaikh Abdullah toured the event, which included a model of the first city to be built on Mars by 2117 — a project that the UAE is undertaking.\n\nMeanwhile, Sara Al Ameri, the UAE’s first Minister of State for Advanced Sciences, provided an overview of the scientific objectives of the Emirates Mars Mission, explaining how the Hope probe will study the Mars’ atmosphere to unlock its mysteries.\n\nThe event was held under the theme, ‘Through Space We Flourish’, and aimed at developing national capabilities in space science, technology and research, in addition to raising awareness among all members of society who are interested in science and space through interactive workshops and activities.\n\nAlso speaking at the event, Ahmad Abdullah Humaid Bel Houl Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education and Advanced Skills, and chairman of the UAE Space Agency, said, “The task we all share as a top priority is motivating affinity towards science and education, as a cornerstone for building a successful human capital in the space sector.”\n\nHe added: “We are at the start of a whole new era in our sector, where collaboration and cooperation among all specialists in the space sector is paramount in order to build and develop current and future capabilities. Sadly this website is not available in the UAE. So we'll have to look for clues in the trailer on our own.\n\nBasically, Westworld is a Western-style ‘amusement park’ that is filled with robots that look and act exactly like humans and who are subjected to horrific violence at the hands of rich ‘guests’ who pay to use and abuse them.\n\nLet’s just take a look back at what took place last season, before we talk about season 2\n\n*Warning, the below contains spoilers for season one*\n\nSeason one ended with some confusing messages that left fans desperate to find out more:\n\nn the finale, William finally finds the centre of that maze that he’s been looking for. He finds it at the grave site of Dolores Abernathy. Before the finale, we all thought that they were looking for either a really big maze somewhere in Westworld, or an idea of a maze, that is Arnold’s model of designing consciousness. But it was a toy maze, which belonged to Arnold’s son and also the route to achieve consciousness. \n\n The Man in black\nHow heartbroken were we all when we discovered that the man in black is actually sweet, kind William? Why did William go evil? Well, he and Dolores fell in love and then, she was taken. William then goes looking for Dolores. When he finally finds her, her memory is wiped clean. Dolores can only remember him in random times of consciousness. So what does William do? He buys many shares in Westworld and spends all his time there. Stalker much?\n\nDolores is almost conscious\nSo we discover that Dolores is the Original Gangsta in the host world. She was literally the first host ever built. She was the only one who was able to understand the maze and nearly reached consciousness. She is also…Wyatt? Yes that’s the confusing bit. She is a mix of Dolores and Wyatt, who is a narrative and not exactly a host. He is a psychopath, capable of killing. And that kind of explains certain parts of Dolores’s characteristics. Including that time when she kills like….everyone at the end of the season finale.\n\nFord isn’t evil\nThe whole time we thought that Ford was an evil man who held the hosts captive in Westworld, but in actuality he was the one trying to free them throughout the season. He had been playing a long game, 35 years long to be exact. He was working on nurturing the mind of these hosts by bringing them to consciousness. At the last episode when the hosts revolt, it’s because of everything Ford had been doing to set them free. He knew he wouldn’t be able to free them on his own, so he made it so that they could fight for their own freedom.\n\nThere is more than one park. \nWhen everyone’s favourite character Maeve’s escapes from Westworld, she wanders into a door called SW, which many viewers assume stands for Samurai World. This is made even more evident, when we see that hosts are dressed like Samurai. How many other worlds exist though?",
